Whenever I clutch down to add gear or reduce gear the car makes sound as if my leg is still on throttle

And the car Consume much fuel than expected

My Toyota Highlander is showing a yellow light along with check vsc. I read that the fuel cap wasn’t properly locked. I locked it and heard a clip sound but the light is stilll showing.

kindly snap the dash and post pls. or better still give a description of the "yellow sign"
from experience, if you have a leak in your emission system and the ecu detects a leak in the tank, it will disable your traction control and abs.
kindly scan or better still remove your battery terminals from the battery for like 15mins. lets see if the code will erase fro computer memory.

Your narrative is flawed my friend, you are using a general term to describe a fault any car can generate. All Jap cars are almost the same when it comes to their electrical infrastructure. Yesterday I was in traffic at black wall tunnel, I saw a 2019 Range rover next to me, I looked into the car I can see two lights on the dash, one is Red the other is an amber triangle, all is not well . My point is any car can generate electrical fault irrespective of make model or year

and I thought I was the only one who checks ppls dash for those Christmas lights

Boss I've been having problems starting my acura 05 tl, the gasket burnt, I changed the engine but since then it has refused to start. The engine turns but won't pick. The immobilizer light comes on but the electrician says he has fixed that but still it doesn't pick... And won't read when a diagnostics machine is plugged in

Pls help boss I love the car but I'm considering selling it as scrap now

sorry about this ordeal boss. if i got you correctly sir you said the engine cranks but wont start.
pls kindly confirm the following
1. is the immobilizer fault truely fixed or you were told? because if there is an immobilizer fault, the vehicle still wont start.
what i can deduce is you have a faulty electrical system. non-communication via OBD is either modules are down or the wiring to the OBD port is faulty.


pls find a competent auto-technician
check all fuses and relays
check ignition (do you have a good spark)
check fuel injectors (are they spraying fuel?)

a faulty crank sensor can also cause a no-start condition. kindly confirm wirings are intact. if otherwise fix.

if you are sure the engine installed is a 2az and not 1az,your iacv is the most likely culprit...I say most likely because that's what regulates idle speed

e nor need spanner,e nor need screwdriver

the valve just needs to be free instead of being stuck in one position like this ur problem seems to indicate

I think this engine doesn't have an Idle Air Control Valve since it is a throttle by wire system. I might be wrong

boss as suggested kindly run a scan of your vehicle and provide codes if there are any stored. if there are none kindly find a competent tech to help diagnose this issue.
high fuel consumption can be caused by various issues like faulty O2 sensor, high fuel pressure, leaky fuel regulator, faulty MAP, leaky exhaust and so many other things. so it takes a deep diagnosis to find the cause of the high fuel consumption.
kindly run a scan and lets go from there.

I just bought Suzuki xl7 but my mechanic advise me to remove the engine and gear and put tokunbo engine for toyota sienna and gear. That it will be more effective and will work perfectly. Please house should I go for it.

Confirm the state of the oil in d transmission. If bad replace.
Otherwise... You need to get a competent tech to help you diagnose the fault with the transmission.

Nope. I didn't just change oil. The previous owner said he didn't change it and can't remember the oil there.

There is a possibility the oil inside has been overused and lost every ability to protect/lubricate the gears in d transmission.

Did you just change trans oil? Which oil did you change to?

rpm on idle without AC is 1100. With AC is about 1000

Without AC your RPM at 1100 is too high. It should be btw 600 and 800 depending on the vehicle sha.
Kindly check your idle system if it has one. Clean your throttle body if its dirty.
Do you have a misfire code? Scan the ECU if you have the CEL on...
Also check the compressor and the belt. Is it the right compressor thats fitted to the engine?

I think clearing the codes is the next thing to do.

This is how i do.

1. Scan and record the codes
2. Identify sources and troubleshoot (adjust connectors and in the evap case ensure a properly closed fuel tank cap)
3. Clear the codes
4. Drive the car for a day or 2
5. Scan again

The 2nd scan confirms a fault and only thenI start looking for solution.

I have seen a scan with misfire codes on all cylinders, but when cleared and driven, misfire codes never came up again even with nothing done.

My Honda Civic when on D, D3, R or D2 it will not move. Keep revving then pick. After like 2mins it will not move again just keep revving till I turn off the ignation and on. The process will repeat.

The transmission oil is well gauged so I don't know what the issue is. This just started today.

Its impossible. Before i purchased it i checked for the part number and amazon cofirms it fits and works for my car. Even the old one removed conpared to the new one is the same thing.i guess its wiring

Its possible bro. Even new parts are sometimes faulty. Factory defects and all... Dnt fully rule that out until u test

I should check the wiring at the sensor 2 i newly replaced. I guess i would have to go to anothee rewire because where the sensor is located,they were all nagging before they removed my fan and found it.pls educate me .the wiring i should check for what exactly.
I disconnected the battery and with the hope that tomorrow morning it would clear

Sorry this is not DIY. Find a competent tech to help you check the wiring to the ECT sensors. All of them.

Please my wife's car would not shift from 3rd to 4th gear and would hit about 4k rpm.
It was diagnosed with obd II scanner and knock sensor, speed sensor, 02 sensor were reported.

Knock sensor and 02 sensor was changed, the car still wouldn't shift from 3rd to 4th gear.

I also noticed that the abs light is constantly ON but not reported by the scanner.

Also, the speedometer won't read.

Professional with similar experience so please guide me on what to do.

I deduce from this details you only scanned the engine not the transmission. So pls as suggested kindly scan the transmission and also the ABS module.

Before it was ect sensor 2 high after scanned
Then i bought a replacement sensor for 7k,installed it by my rewire and obd scanned. Then the scanner showed code p2185..ect sensor 2 circuit low
Now i feel frustrated as my rewire says they would need to change the sensor close to thermostat. But the obd says sensor 2 and a i noticed my acceleration doesnt pick on time and my fuel economy is poor. 1000naira fu only lasts me half a day whether ac or not.
Pls what can i do cos check engine light still on.

Check the wiring. Stop throwing parts at the problem.
You might have a short to ground somewhere. Reason for the circuit too low code. This Will definitely affect your fuel consumption since the ECU doesnt know if the engine cold or hot.
