The National Council on Privatisation has said that 20,304 out persons of the 40,000 staff of Power Holding Company of Nigeria have so far been cleared and paid their severance benefits.http://premiumtimesng.com/news/143033-nigerian-government-pays-20-304-phcn-workers-severance-benefits-ncp.html?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=nigerian-government-pays-20-304-phcn-workers-severance-benefits-ncp |
Yungwizzzy: they could not afford #92billion where did they get #400billion from??Ngozi never said the Govt does not have fund.. Sнε only said that if such money must be released it should be for CAPITAL projects not ƒσя paying salaries or allowances. If you have been following the events of the strike you will see that the N92 billion ASUU is asking for is for their allowance while this report states clearly that the 400billion is for projects. So you now see hw the 400billion came out? |
PureNigerian: What is your point.Performed credibly well as BPE boss??..tell me one company privatized under his watch that is doing excellently well... |
eye4eye: Not welcome at the whitehouse in Washington DC because of corruption in Nigeria. Obama will talk to him on the sideline at UN in New York for few minutes.Nonsense...so after Obama came to Africa and declined visiting Aso Rock you expect now he wants to see GEJ,that GEJ should go to white House like a schoolboy summoned by his teacher..The Sideline of the UN summit is a neutral ground and the best place for this meeting. It shows mutual respect for each other by both parties.. |
I listen to Kendrick's raps more than I listen to my "lecturers"...dude definitely got more to offer |
First,So the APC governors now have a governors forum?..interesting!!..then why was Tinubu shouting aloud when PDP decided to create the PDP governors forum??.. Secondly,LG autonomy was one reason the whole nation roundly commended the House of reps for voting for it and gave thumbs down to the senate for voting against.Well hopefully for the LG autonomy issue to sail through a minimum of 23 state houses of assembly and PDP alone has up to 23 states..now the APC governors have united to say they are against LG autonomy, can the PDP governors unite to say they are ƒσя it??...I doubt |
The governors said this in a communiqué after their meeting. The governors of the All Progressive Congress, APC, at the end of their meeting on Wednesday rejected autonomy for Nigerian local governments. The governors, in a communiqué released after their meeting in Lafia, said the National Assembly was right by not including local government autonomy in the ongoing constitutional amendment. The eight point communiqué released after their five hour meeting in Lafia was read by Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State. The governors said autonomy for the local governments would undermine the fundamental principle of federalism and push the country towards a unitary system. The meeting of the governors, called Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), was attended by nine governors and one deputy governor. The attendees are the host, Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa,Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, Babatunde Fashola of Lagos, and Abdullazez Yari of Zamfara. Others are Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun, Adams Oshiomhole of Edo, Rauf Aregbesola of Osun, Kashim Shettima of Borno, and Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo. The deputy governor of Imo, Eze Madumere, also attended while Yobe governor was not represented but sent in apology. “Recognizing the fact that federalism is the basis of our sovereignty, is a matter within the purview of the federating unit and every attempt to legislate by the national assembly on aspect of local government administration will tilt the country towards a unitary state. This will undermine and weaken the fundamental principle of our federalism,” the governors said. The governors also recommended that the power to amend the revenue allocation formula be removed from the presidency and given to the National Assembly. “In spite of recommendations made to the presidency, no effect has been given to the extant proposal on the need to give more funds to the states and local governments because that is where the citizens reside. The PGF further recommends that powers to alter the revenue allocation formula currently with the presidency should be vested in the National assembly,” they said. The communiqué also commended the Independent National Electoral commission (INEC) for registering the APC in the overall interest of the nation. It expressed confidence in the interim leadership of the party in its ongoing efforts to develop a healthy relationship among members. premiumtimesng.com/news/142771-apc-governors-oppose-autonomy-for-nigerias-local-governments.html |
If the rich don't pay taxes, you poor people won't eat. If the rich don't create jobs, you poor people will be unemployed. How do u think the govt makes money? These airports open the way for investments to come in. MTN did not come to Nigeria by road, they flew in. These oil companies don't travel for business by sea, they fly. Stop thinking like a poor man
You have even got time to lecture see no-good hear no-good bunnch of critics |
^^i couldn't have said it better |
take dat: If his rebuttals are well deserved, he shouldn't be angry with those who also unleash their bombastic prowess against the Presidency. Its a universal principle that if an adult notices some younger, or rather foolish individual acting stupid, the presumed wiser adult is supposed to ignore whatever intention the person had in acting thus and do what is right to show the foolish person the way. But since Abati prefers the Oshodi-Mushin Markets Polygamous rivalry, constantly taunting eachother in a very bitter connubial rivalry, he must not be angry if critics call the President foolish or unserious-minded.Let me give you a short story.. A certain white garment pastor will always come to my street to do early morning cry(preaching)..whenever he starts his sermon,a certain well built young man will start pouring all kinds of diatribes against his person..this continued for long and the pastor will just go on with his preaching exercising all the restrain he can..a certain day came and this pastor couldn't take it no more,he simply removed his white robe, dropped his bell and bible and reached for this young man and gave him the beating of his life. After the beating he still continued with his preaching... So what am I saying in effect is that if insulting statements are not made in the 1st place they won't be need for rebutals..its on record that since 2011 the opposition has been dishing out loads of insults to the president and it only took this year for the presidency to reply in like manner. What other restraint do you want them to exercise?? |
israel007: Yea NAIA, Abuja is really clean. Whoever says GEJ hasn't worked or isn't working should be subject to psychiatric evaluation. Thanks bruv.. |
pDude: Shey i resemble Goodluck Jonathan?Lol..you are not even close to looking like him..am quite sure you don't wear a HAT ![]() But every citizen is supposed to contribute his bit to nation building..you don't know who might be reading your post,so it aint wrong if u share your idea here |
take dat: Even if critics use harsh words against the President, it is incumbent on Abati not to reply in kind because he is not speaking for himself but for an institution. He has relegated the office of the President with articles barely reflected of Presidential restraint. He should carry on with the fire-for-fire strategy with critics since they run a kindergarten presidency.I disagree with you..those are well deserved rebutalls |
take dat: Why is Abati angry? Are we not aware of his propensity to resort to the use of foul language against the critics of President Jonathan? "Collective children of anger, Medieval era Ignoramus, Sophisticated Ignorance, habitual indolence and brainlessness etc." Abati should watch his own vitriol, those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.Lai mohammed showed the way and Abati after much restraint followed suit...only for Lai mohammed to chicken out and turned around to beg abati to tone down on his choice of words.Have you seen Lai address the president in derogatory terms after Abati's fire..So simply Bisi Akande deserves the dish served him by Abati.. |
pDude: Good. They have been remodelled. So what's your suggestion on the way forward? |

El-rufai spekas from both sides of his mouth..he once declared Buhari perpetually unelectable..and this is what he said about Jonathan as captured by wikileaks
|
Delafruita: elrufai was a qualified quantity surveyor before entering public service.let me repeat that again... QUANTITY SURVEYOR..with a booming practise.i suggest you seek out what an average quantity surveyor earns then compare with highly placed one like elrufia then you'd have a good idea.for your information, his firm is still very much activeOf course I know he is a quantity surveyor..no need stressing that..the question is since he left govt did he return back to practice..you can't just tell me his firm is still active without proving it..what is the name of the firm?..ωнεяε is it located?..how many high-profile jobs have they carried out in recent times?.. If you can answer the above questions I will retract my statement and if you can't just shut the helll up |
