Thy are bing sponsored by my younger sister who was born in US and lives and works there.

not sure what you mean, i think we are talking about 2 different things. The person was asking how safe it is to convert POF from Naira to USD because they can ask for updated POF anytime. I was explaining that if he/she decides to, they should note that the naira equivalent at 480 is lower than the required POF because POF is calculated with CBN rate (380). and i share my experience. You get?
Tonyamori:
I actually changed mine yesterday at 480 in black market so that I could pay for my CES llb . Payment successful

I am not too sure about this. It seems safe to leave as it is but someone else might be able to give you better info.

If you eventually decide to change it to USD note that if you are using BDC/black market, you would be changing it at about 485 so that would reduce your POF and you would have to add a considerable amount.
I changed half of my POF before application at around $485 and had to add close to 800k-1 million naira to get the equivalent, even though I already had half of the POF in my USD account(family of 2)
Elpinto:

Abeg o, can anyone please help with this?

PGD is a 1 year diploma so thats what it would be evaluated as and you would get equivalent points.
Points for Highest degree only applies to Masters and PHD... if you want to use PGD you would have to add a HND or BSc to that and get 2 or more certificates. so you can do HND+BSc, Diploma+BSC, BSc+PGD, HND+ PGD and so on, to get 2 or more certs.

purespikes:
Good morning people, so sorry to ask basic questions, I just want to be properly guided. I did WES Evaluation for my PGD and I got "Post Graduate Diploma (one year)" as Canada Equivalency Summary.

I actually have HND, but opted to do the PGD being the highest. Now, when evaluating my CRS scored, I noticed if I had done WES for my HND, it would have given 2 or more certificates, which would give higher point than " One year program at a university " I currently get for my PGD. I am correct with the selection of "one year program at a university" as the equivalent of my PGD?

My question, what is the correct selection for PGD when doing CRS evaluation?

Make una help biko.

So I was basically trying to make a point, there might be a minimum score but i don't know. The scores you put are above 6 so not sure why you ask. Even if its 5 (which is rare), try it first and see if you can open a profile. There is no advantage waiting when you have IELTs scores as I already mentioned, there is the tie breaker rule and also even if your CRS is lower, a province can give you nomination. Never wait if you can open a profile, thats all I am saying.

Phemmy2rule:

I thought they said you must have 6,6,6,6 before you can create a profile. I want to be sure please. I thought they said you must have 6,6,6,6 before you can create a profile. I want to be sure please.

Even if you have 5 in all sections of IELTS, always enter the pool as soon as you can. There are various reasons such as tie breaker rule and even with low CRS a province can see you and give you nomination. Never waste time. the second you have your ECA and any IELTS score ready, enter the pool. You can always edit the IELTS once your new result is out.

Thanks
You are very right. I took screenshots of the documents uploaded and even most of the form but left out my husbands address history part. I felt i would still be able to access it on the application. Funny enough the uploaded document names are accessible but just not the filled questionnaire.
I have been able to retrieve it now though.
Thanks.

ShoeShineGuy:

Sorry about this.

An advice to anyone planning to submit his/her application. Pls, kindly go through all your filled forms from beginning to the end and screenshot as you go through. It sounds stressful but it can indeed save you pains later.

We submitted and decided to go through the screenshots the following day and realised one of the main documents supporting the PA's reference letter had not been merged with the rest of the document. I could have swore I merged it and claim that village people had somehow managed to remove it if I was sent an ADR or something worse had happened but there it was in front of us and on the screenshot, man's imperfections!

Had to raise a webform immediately, after discussing with @Mmamaroon back then, which was acknowledged exactly 30days later by IRCC.

Hello.
Please I have been trying to find out how to retrieve some of the history i filled in my E-APR to no avail and then I saw this post, but I have tried searching canadavisa website and google but I still have not found it. Please if you have the link to where I could get it I would really appreciate your assistance.

Thank you
niyogeol:
Hi, did they specify any period that is missing and needs to be accounted for? If yes, I would advise you account for those period on the form for easy reference while filling out your personal history and other things available on the schedule A form.

Ensure the details in this new form aligns with what you have filled in before. You don't want any discrepancies between the previous submission and the new one. In the event the space in the form (which can easily be downloaded online) is not enough, you can write out additional information on A4 paper and attach - not forgetting to number appropriately. In case you have forgotten what you filled, look up canadavisa website, there is a tip there on how to retrieve such information from your CIC account. Good luck. Cheers.

Hello.

Please when you used your statement of result, did you have issues with the year WES put on the ECA report?
My husband used his statement and Unilag put 2010/2011 session which was the start year, but he finished his masters 2013 and 2013 was not written anywhere in the statement.
So WES assumed and put the date as 2010, and what we filled on the profile which is correct was 2013. We ended up not using it to claim points though because of the date discrepancy and WES said they cant change it. Did you have this issue? If so how did you go about it?
Lagoscooldude:
Yes you can use your statement of result. That was what I used

You cant hide your marriage status. If you want to sponsor your wife and kid in future, the marriage cert date and birth date would have to be after you got PR and arrived Canada which is impossible. If you try it you would probably be banned and sent back to Nigeria because its misrepresentation. You have to say the complete truth. It is really not worth it. Figure out how to get the remaining funds.
Idemujoseph:
thank you for your response! What if I hide my marriage status?
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by AyeeshaB: 12:47pm On Jan 02, 2021
Yes you can sponsor your spouse via spousal route but you have to be living in Canada at the time and not leave the country at all or for a certain period of time while in the process and the process takes at least 1 year.
So if you have the PR card you cannot be in Nigeria or another country and apply for your spouse from there.
OlakunmiSMELTD:

Thank you for the response, however, I got another response that with PR you can sponsor your spouse over via spousal route

changed my POF to usd at 485 sometime in May/June due to the rumors of Naira being devalued etc...at this point i didnt even know POF was checked using CBN rate. The disadvantage is i had to change more naira to get enough USD, the advantage may be that i am not exposed to the uncertainty of naira if by the time i am in Canada, the naira is almost 1,000 to USD(God forbid). This is why i called it a loss.
USD even dropped against CAD because i had to add more money recently to complete my POF.
Cheerfulmum:
How do you mean over 1 million naira total loss, were you charged upto 2 million naira?

Please has anyone successfully used a GTBank Dollar Mastercard to pay for the E-APR of $2820 CAD. Its declining my card and I don't know why. what can i do?

Update: nevermind, sorted it out, apparently they took $150 more than the calculated rates from USD on oanda or Xe, not sure why. I'm tired of all this exchange rate losses o. First from Naira to usd, now from usd to CAD, over 1M Naira total loss now, hmm. hopefully its worth it in the long run

Hello..
Something similar like this actually happened to me too. This same Unilag...My SOR also did not include date of completion of my masters program. WES Evaluation came out showing 2019 as the time my masters program ended whereas it was 2020 it ended.
What i did was explain myself using LOE..and stating when my program began and ended...then i added supporting documents to prove my point.

Cheers

Hello. Please for those who used statement of result for WES most especially from Unilag, did you have any issues with the date? Unilag did not include a completion date, only a start date in the form of: "Notification of results 2010/2011 session"
Now the WES Evaluation says 2011, when the degree was completed in 2013 which is the info reflected in the E-APR. I don't know what the transcript looks like but since Unilag didn't state 2013 in the statement, how can this be corrected?

I actually got a reference from the MD today, plan to use my employment letter and all that except ID. And yes the Linkedin presence is there, thats a good one.

Thanks for your time.
WeAreDLucky1s:

Now, that's clearer.

For a defunct company, I doubt your salary inflow to your account would matter much, there are more specifics for meeting the criteria. In my case although not defunct, documents such as Employment letter (front page), Contract letter, Resignation letter, ID Card (front page) are things you can use rather, and then maybe just in case, you MUST, then the Salary inflow for the period (highlight it) which I still think will be cumbersome. Then, well-drafted duties that match your NOC on a plain paper, you can even notarize this letter to give you more peace of mind and sleep grin

Also, there is this thing people do, if you can reach out to the CEO/MD/Supervisor he can also draft out a letter for you affirming that although the company no longer exist, and that they had a good working relationship with you during the period your duties include; A, B and C. Then, go to LinkedIn and make them your connection (this works like charm). Most of your colleagues will clearly state that they work in the company from a period to another, if this matches for 2-3 profile, this might just be your golden bail out.

All the above, in addition to a well structured LOE explicitly stating why you cannot meet the criteria in the required format.

Things to note about Reference Letter is the 2 paramount things of interest, in fact, 3 is essential;
1. Evidence of Work being a close match/related to the NOC in your application.
2. Evidence of Work hours equivalent to Canada standard full-time work and duration (at least one year of continuous work - 3yrs max point)
3. Evidence that you were paid (which usually has lesser importance) because there are no restriction to how much you should be paid
grin
Then other less-vital details about the organization (if it can be verifiable etc, in your case this is not possible, but really is of lesser use, self).

I hope this is helpful, and I'll like to thank you for reading.

Thanks for your detailed response. I am aware of all the attachments from IRCC, Ive read them. I just included the word statement for the sake of it. I mentioned "letter" first. Some people also had instances where their banks didn't give them the required letters.

Number 2 question was not pertaining to POF. It was in relation to proving work experience for a now defunct company. I wanted to show my salary inflow.

Thanks again.

Hey AyeeshaB,

CAVEAT: I AM NOT A VO neither do I process applications for people, but like most people in this thread, I have applied for this, I want the best for everyone and surely, my application is in good stand. So, whatever is written below is an unbiased interpretation of what is on the IRCC's website alongside proven personal experience and knowledge from this forum.

I am particularly taking a keen interest in this question even if it has been answered multiple times before. This is because I delayed my "plugging" into the pool for almost 2 years searching for how to gather the POF, how to meet the requirement while ensuring that I abide by their rules (since 2017). Also, I feel it would be quite informative if I pour out all I know about it and the "general" confusion surrounding POF AND THE SIX MONTH SOA (Statement of Account).

Hello all, I recently received ITA and I have a few questions.

1. Is it okay if the bank letter/ statement is up to 3 weeks old before application submission date or what is a safe acceptable timeline? I do not know how long the bank would take to respond so I want to request now but I intend to submit my application around 12th-18th December. Please advise.

2. In a case where I want to include salary inflows into my account do I need the whole account statement for the duration or I can take a screenshot the exact inflow days?

3. Do all the addresses on all my documents need to be the same (current address, PCC, bank statement/letter, Pension letter). I have not updated my addresses in some of my banks.

3. Is it okay after application to move money from where it was, I do not intend to spend it, I just want to Invest it while I wait for PPR because it has been lying in my dollar account for months with no interest. I ask because I know at entry they may ask for proof of funds, which I would have but probably might not be in the original account or it would show it was removed at some point and put back.

Thanks.

Thats great. Thats why I said if you need it. I think evaluating 2 or more degrees would give you 2 extra points. Use the CRS tool but from what I am seeing your scores should be good if you max IELTS. Because I am 29 with MSc and 3 years experience and my husbands MSc with WES isn't even evaluated yet and we had 474 and we were invited. With the evaluation it would be 484.
So just check the CRS tool if it would make a difference for you and IELTS matters so you may begin with the WES as you mentioned. I know the cost may discourage you but some people won't take chances. Just weigh it. Goodluck.

wondychiqe:
Thanks so much Ayeesha B for the reply. It was evaluated as PGD 2years. I am not sure how much we need it because I am 26 with an MSC and 3 years experience. (My IELTS will be out by next month). But we will begin on the process just incase. So I need to pay for an upgrade to add the HND to WES, Chai extra 110CAD. It is well!

I believe PGD is evaluated as a 1 year program and not a Masters, Evaluating both degrees would give points for two or more degrees which gives about 3 points higher than just PGD. So evaluate the HND to add points especially if you really need the 3 extra points.
Evaluating only highest degree works well usually when it come to Masters, PHD.

wondychiqe:
Please my husband has an HND and PGD. He is the secondary applicant, I only evaluated his PGD as per the higher qualification. Am I on the right path?
Will it be defined as 2 or more certificates? Or do I need to evaluate HND too?

It was a good attempt but from what I’ve seen scores for listening and reading don’t change. Nevertheless reading is the most challenging task and you may be surprised finding out that you lost points on some questions you were so sure of particularly the true, false and not given task

Thats why I said "notification of result" in place of certificate. He doesn't have his certificate, he never collected it. If we had the certificate we wont have gone through all this.

We paid for transcript July, and August we got a contact because no progress. We asked the contact guy to help us with the statement but he insisted we send it with the transcript and he lied that it was sent, this was in August/sept. He also lied they don't give paper copies, I really don't know what his aim was because it makes zero sense why he would lie about that (after paying him 15k).

Package got there Sept 10 and they only updated transcript was received, we told him and he kept insisting it was sent, then he stopped picking calls then strike happened, then back and forth calls to WES and they double checked, then there was protest break and then we now got someone else to do it and the person found out it had not even been processed at all, even after paying for it 3 months prior (Unilag is useless like that) and we got the copy of the notification of result some days after and uploaded it last week by ourselves.

Rhuth:

Why not upload your certificate by yourself?
I did mine with Unilag. Applied and paid for transcript online and uploaded my certificate directly on WES' portal.
That's all
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by AyeeshaB: 8:01pm On Nov 13, 2020
I don't have the answers to all your questions but what is certain is that reading scores literally never change because its not subjective. The answers are the answers and cant change, if you know what I mean. With writing, there is a chance you scores may change, most changes I have seen are +0.5.
I would advise you register for another test.

peejay03:
Hello everyone, despite my consistent practice, i am still stuck with Ielts cry cry. Please i have few questions regarding my result. Which would you advice?

1. A remark for reading/writing and wait for the outcome. Is an upgrade assured for both?
2. A remark for reading/writing and also register for another test. This is in case the first option does not come out favorable.
3. How much is MOD remark?
4. Does the remark payment apply to each of the test or it covers for both?

Listening - 8
Speaking - 7
Reading - 5.5
Writing - 6.5

Would really appreciate your responses.
