Hello All. Please my parents are trying to fill the DS-260 form and at the address section they are unable to put all their addresses, has any one run into this issue? My mother has 17 addresses since she was 16, she is 59 now but there is only space for 7 addresses or so, what can she do? Thy are bing sponsored by my younger sister who was born in US and lives and works there. I would appreciate your assistance. Thank you |

not sure what you mean, i think we are talking about 2 different things. The person was asking how safe it is to convert POF from Naira to USD because they can ask for updated POF anytime. I was explaining that if he/she decides to, they should note that the naira equivalent at 480 is lower than the required POF because POF is calculated with CBN rate (380). and i share my experience. You get? Tonyamori: |

I am not too sure about this. It seems safe to leave as it is but someone else might be able to give you better info. If you eventually decide to change it to USD note that if you are using BDC/black market, you would be changing it at about 485 so that would reduce your POF and you would have to add a considerable amount. I changed half of my POF before application at around $485 and had to add close to 800k-1 million naira to get the equivalent, even though I already had half of the POF in my USD account(family of 2) Elpinto: 1 Like |

PGD is a 1 year diploma so thats what it would be evaluated as and you would get equivalent points. Points for Highest degree only applies to Masters and PHD... if you want to use PGD you would have to add a HND or BSc to that and get 2 or more certificates. so you can do HND+BSc, Diploma+BSC, BSc+PGD, HND+ PGD and so on, to get 2 or more certs. purespikes: |

So I was basically trying to make a point, there might be a minimum score but i don't know. The scores you put are above 6 so not sure why you ask. Even if its 5 (which is rare), try it first and see if you can open a profile. There is no advantage waiting when you have IELTs scores as I already mentioned, there is the tie breaker rule and also even if your CRS is lower, a province can give you nomination. Never wait if you can open a profile, thats all I am saying. Phemmy2rule: |

Even if you have 5 in all sections of IELTS, always enter the pool as soon as you can. There are various reasons such as tie breaker rule and even with low CRS a province can see you and give you nomination. Never waste time. the second you have your ECA and any IELTS score ready, enter the pool. You can always edit the IELTS once your new result is out. bishopbusayo1: 3 Likes |

Thanks You are very right. I took screenshots of the documents uploaded and even most of the form but left out my husbands address history part. I felt i would still be able to access it on the application. Funny enough the uploaded document names are accessible but just not the filled questionnaire. I have been able to retrieve it now though. Thanks. ShoeShineGuy: 2 Likes |

Hello. Please when you used your statement of result, did you have issues with the year WES put on the ECA report? My husband used his statement and Unilag put 2010/2011 session which was the start year, but he finished his masters 2013 and 2013 was not written anywhere in the statement. So WES assumed and put the date as 2010, and what we filled on the profile which is correct was 2013. We ended up not using it to claim points though because of the date discrepancy and WES said they cant change it. Did you have this issue? If so how did you go about it? Lagoscooldude: |

You cant hide your marriage status. If you want to sponsor your wife and kid in future, the marriage cert date and birth date would have to be after you got PR and arrived Canada which is impossible. If you try it you would probably be banned and sent back to Nigeria because its misrepresentation. You have to say the complete truth. It is really not worth it. Figure out how to get the remaining funds. Idemujoseph: |

Yes you can sponsor your spouse via spousal route but you have to be living in Canada at the time and not leave the country at all or for a certain period of time while in the process and the process takes at least 1 year. So if you have the PR card you cannot be in Nigeria or another country and apply for your spouse from there. OlakunmiSMELTD: 3 Likes 1 Share |

changed my POF to usd at 485 sometime in May/June due to the rumors of Naira being devalued etc...at this point i didnt even know POF was checked using CBN rate. The disadvantage is i had to change more naira to get enough USD, the advantage may be that i am not exposed to the uncertainty of naira if by the time i am in Canada, the naira is almost 1,000 to USD(God forbid). This is why i called it a loss. USD even dropped against CAD because i had to add more money recently to complete my POF. Cheerfulmum: 3 Likes |

Please has anyone successfully used a GTBank Dollar Mastercard to pay for the E-APR of $2820 CAD. Its declining my card and I don't know why. what can i do? Update: nevermind, sorted it out, apparently they took $150 more than the calculated rates from USD on oanda or Xe, not sure why. I'm tired of all this exchange rate losses o. First from Naira to usd, now from usd to CAD, over 1M Naira total loss now, hmm. hopefully its worth it in the long run 4 Likes |

Hello. Please for those who used statement of result for WES most especially from Unilag, did you have any issues with the date? Unilag did not include a completion date, only a start date in the form of: "Notification of results 2010/2011 session" Now the WES Evaluation says 2011, when the degree was completed in 2013 which is the info reflected in the E-APR. I don't know what the transcript looks like but since Unilag didn't state 2013 in the statement, how can this be corrected? |

Thanks for your detailed response. I am aware of all the attachments from IRCC, Ive read them. I just included the word statement for the sake of it. I mentioned "letter" first. Some people also had instances where their banks didn't give them the required letters. Number 2 question was not pertaining to POF. It was in relation to proving work experience for a now defunct company. I wanted to show my salary inflow. Thanks again. WeAreDLucky1s: 1 Like |

Hello all, I recently received ITA and I have a few questions. 1. Is it okay if the bank letter/ statement is up to 3 weeks old before application submission date or what is a safe acceptable timeline? I do not know how long the bank would take to respond so I want to request now but I intend to submit my application around 12th-18th December. Please advise. 2. In a case where I want to include salary inflows into my account do I need the whole account statement for the duration or I can take a screenshot the exact inflow days? 3. Do all the addresses on all my documents need to be the same (current address, PCC, bank statement/letter, Pension letter). I have not updated my addresses in some of my banks. 3. Is it okay after application to move money from where it was, I do not intend to spend it, I just want to Invest it while I wait for PPR because it has been lying in my dollar account for months with no interest. I ask because I know at entry they may ask for proof of funds, which I would have but probably might not be in the original account or it would show it was removed at some point and put back. Thanks. |

Thats great. Thats why I said if you need it. I think evaluating 2 or more degrees would give you 2 extra points. Use the CRS tool but from what I am seeing your scores should be good if you max IELTS. Because I am 29 with MSc and 3 years experience and my husbands MSc with WES isn't even evaluated yet and we had 474 and we were invited. With the evaluation it would be 484. So just check the CRS tool if it would make a difference for you and IELTS matters so you may begin with the WES as you mentioned. I know the cost may discourage you but some people won't take chances. Just weigh it. Goodluck. wondychiqe: 1 Like |

I believe PGD is evaluated as a 1 year program and not a Masters, Evaluating both degrees would give points for two or more degrees which gives about 3 points higher than just PGD. So evaluate the HND to add points especially if you really need the 3 extra points. Evaluating only highest degree works well usually when it come to Masters, PHD. wondychiqe: |

Finally got the ITA mail with 474!! Got verification mail from WES for hubby's ECA yesterday, already engaged Unilag today to check and their server was down. ECA was going to give us 484 but 474 was good enough, thank God 26 Likes |

Highest should be around 484, I will be 484 once my spouse ECA is done, except maybe adding him gave me an extra 3 points. MissMa01: |

As far as i know they evaluate transcript and you upload certificate. If you don't have a certificate, you can upload statement/notification of result Nenyezz: |

Is this reply for me or the person who asked? I am a bit confused. You literally said exactly what I said in reply to the person Reading is most likely not to change because its not subjective like writing. He was asking about a remark and if scores could change and I answered. abnot: |

Thats why I said "notification of result" in place of certificate. He doesn't have his certificate, he never collected it. If we had the certificate we wont have gone through all this. We paid for transcript July, and August we got a contact because no progress. We asked the contact guy to help us with the statement but he insisted we send it with the transcript and he lied that it was sent, this was in August/sept. He also lied they don't give paper copies, I really don't know what his aim was because it makes zero sense why he would lie about that (after paying him 15k). Package got there Sept 10 and they only updated transcript was received, we told him and he kept insisting it was sent, then he stopped picking calls then strike happened, then back and forth calls to WES and they double checked, then there was protest break and then we now got someone else to do it and the person found out it had not even been processed at all, even after paying for it 3 months prior (Unilag is useless like that) and we got the copy of the notification of result some days after and uploaded it last week by ourselves. I don't have the answers to all your questions but what is certain is that reading scores literally never change because its not subjective. The answers are the answers and cant change, if you know what I mean. With writing, there is a chance you scores may change, most changes I have seen are +0.5. I would advise you register for another test. peejay03: |
