obj is laughing, bush is smiling. one is a lawyer the other is a farmer!but he's not carrying a hoe |
what about ladoja? will he be allowed to complete his four years considering that akala usurped his seat for some months? |
you guys are not serious. can't you see how bush is greeting obj with two hands?- a sign of respect. |
What Does Atiku have to offer. The foreign reserve is huge. What do you think? Nelson Mandela wannabe. Freedom fighter. |
The author of the above piece makes sense. I wonder why Jeff did not seek audience with a councillor, council chairman or governor. Asking to speak to the C-in-C is a slight on our national pride. As rightly pointed out, Bush would not accept it if AIT went to the USA to interview him on the outcome of Katrina. |
i know they are but i probably won't be in nigeria until december. poor me. the money is wasted. |
dbock So if nigeria government meets your above criteria then it ceases to be corrupt? India and ghana both scored 3.3 in the transparency international perception index rating for 2006. Nigeria scored a meagre 2.2. In principle, nigeria is more corrupt than india but the rating is faulty as far as i'm concerned. It is based on perception and not reality.(http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0781359.html) And why didn't you say that "Ghana has small population but no corruption" after all we theorize there is constant electricity, water and quality education in ghana. |
just curious- is there 50kobo coin as reported by most dailies? and how can i change my own naira to the new ones? I travelled out of the country with some wraps of N50 and N20 naira notes. Too bad, i might as well keep it as a monument- the old naira notes. |
India has a bigger population but no corruptioni can contest the above statement in a law court. if anything india is a little bit more corrupt that nigeria. |
obviously, you have not said anything. no correlation between your heading and the content. |
and promised to jail the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Maurice Iwu, should the electoral body allow itself to be used to scuttle his (VP’s) presidential ambition. “Any attempt by the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) to disqualify anybody from the elections, there will be no elections in Nigeria.atiku, the one-man-squad. his utterances are inflammatory. |
Read the swedish history. The hardship they underwent surpasses what we are going through in nigeria today. They didn't get to where they are today by heaping loads of blames on their government. Our problem is that instead of proffering solutions, we are quick to criticize and condemn. |
Nigerians are the biggest problem of nigeria. A swedish friend once told me that going by the way nigerians sell their country, nobody would patronise them. It is a shame that we only see the negative aspects of our government. We always hope for the worst and when our wishes come true we start screaming. We even go beyond the boundaries of criticism to the point of blackmail. |
You guys make me sad. What you guys mean is that prices of items should be in multiples of N5? Things can sell for N7, N8, N9 N11 and even N14.50k. Why are you guys whinning about N1 not buying anything? Can it buy sweet and kwuli-kwuli? |
The only nigeria who refuses to acknowledge the fact that Atiku is politically dead is ATIKU himself. What more proofs do we need guy? let's crucify him. |
Running round the whole of europe and america like a man with an ant in his pants will not help him. He's a goner. He betrayed his office. He betrayed his nation. He betrayed nigeria. Mr investor indeed. He will invest our foreign reserve in his private bank if he becomes the president. We don't want that. No |
If found culpable, appropriate sanctions should be meted out to both atiku and obj . Any way it goes, atiku has no moral right to contest for president. He lost that right the day he became a traitor. |
Atiku's position has become untenable. He should resign and face the music. This is his waterloo. |
http://www.tribune.com.ng/27022007/news/news3.html Yar’Adua may retain 10 ministers - As politicians jostle for positionsSoludo as finance minister Akunyili for health minister Ribadu for IGP not bad if the above comes to pass. I have two nominations- Pat Utomi for Governor of central bank Governor duke for minister of tourism |
i fear for our youths. the way the turn to yahoo these days is alarming. they (we) are as guilty as their (our) fathers. |
hope the coins are not as fat and heavy as they seem. |
Would you see it as a contrivance considering that Atiku himself has defeated the federal government in the past. |
You guys are killing me, Kalu has been rich way before he got into politics.Because he "came from a private driven economy" according to him. "I have been very critic of obasanjo" "EFCC is investigating organisation". Take me to court of competent jurisdiction, bla bla bla. Didn't they say he is a graduate of ABSU and what's worse, he went for NYSC. |
It isn't about his spoken english (which i admit was the most incoherent piece i have ever listened to) but his answers to questions posed to him were ridiculous. He was going round the circle, making no point at all. How could you justify the 24 minutes spent on interviewing this dumb? His answers were the dumbest ever. He spent 8 years as the governor of a state and it was only few weeks ago he got facilities to remove refuse in aba. When probed a little bit further, he said Tony Blair is not responsible for the removal of refuse in Bannet. What an analogy. And funny enough, he learnt a different way of pronouncing aba. OUK is a failure not only to the Abia people to the entire nation. |
I still fail to understand how Orji Kalu was able to convinced Abians to vote for him in 1999. He's such an incoherent clown who finds it difficult to read his budget speeches (written by someone else). He was beating about the bush throughout the interview. I'm sure the interviewer was very frustrated talking to someone that dumb. The only information he had to reveal to anxious viewers was how EFCC and obasanjo were using 'double rules'. The 24 mins spent on interviewing him was a waste. |
Again, lack of knowledge in politics. Please, stop these undue alerts in this forum.Learn some manners, shutmouth. Act your name. You don't abuse people on a public forum just because your keyboard is just in front of you. Political Alignment and realignment we know are features of a political system. What is wrong in predicting (almost with unity probability) that the trend of events favour the ruling party which is having an influx of newcomers? A veritable opposition, rather than what we are likely to have still remains the best for the maturity of our democracy. With recent happenings, I forsee the merger of all polical parties into one. |
With the defection of ANPP gubernatorial candidates to PDP, the stage seems to be set for the ruling party to sweep the pools come april. I hope there would still be some sorts of opposition lest we should drift to a one party state. Apparently, Shagari has withdrawn with the following words "I am going to see Mr. President and whatever he says I will abide by it." If true this development is not too healthy for the development of our democracy. http://allafrica.com/stories/200702150725.html |
Nigeria cancels CNN advert over controversial report. Good step. Why should we keep on selling ourselves a world who's not ready to buy us at the lowest price. http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/L15252409.htm |
Yar' adua and Goodluck are not bad looking. Who said they are illitrates? Yar' adua has MSc in analytical Chem and Goodluck is an academic. Still doubting the health of Yar' adua? But a sick man doesn't play Squash. |
Iyke-D, spot on. Nigerians could be likened to the animals in George Orwell's animal farm. There is every reason to blame Snowball for their every travails. He ruined the wind-mill, the water wasn't tasting well because of him, he met the chickens in their dreams and aborted their eggs; for every ill luck, it was Snowball, but when the water tasted good "oh! glory be to Napoleon" In our depraved psyche, nothing happens at random. There is a sinister motive for every action. If Obi had lost today, by now, people would have written thousands of threads to pour invectives on Obasanjo. We should learn to look a little bit above our brows before pointing accusing fingers on the usual culprit- the president. |
Turaki is the 'best president nigeria will never have'. He now epitomises the long awaited Moses under whose regime nigeria will leave her Egypt. Absolute nonesense! His main strenght now is the unfortunate situation in the niger-delta. His desparation to secure the aso-seat is both suspicious and questionable. This is the man who 'knew' so much that was going wrong, but chose not to tell nigerians. His recent 'mouth erosion' is not impressing anybody. He should go back to Adamawa to enjoy his booty. hmmm. The following is an excerpt from the speech of His excellency, 'President-to-be', Turaki Abubakar as reported in http://www.tribune.com.ng/10022007/news/news1.html Abubakar said that if elected, the AC would develop the Niger Delta the way the Federal Government had developed Abuja by establishing a Ministry of Niger Delta Development with an indigene of the region as Minister. |
