Thanks for the info. I was wondering if it is only showing in mine.

I guess I just have to wait now to see if the trick I used work for the speaking section.

Prolivingproof:
I think they have issues with their site, tried to do same but saw the red warning of not being able to present results on time due to some technical issues. I have postponed taking the mock test till next week, hopefully, they would have resolved the matter.

Hi,

you are very close. I think since you have crack the speaking module with 88 your next one would be perfect. Writing is the easiest to improve in. with the right template and understanding the trick with summary you will get 87+ ((summary, SST and FIB-R&W carry a lots of weight than most people think)

When did you write your exam?
can you please share your Enabling skills - Grammar, Oral Fluency, Pronounciation etc.

Any particular style you used for the speaking section?

wondaboi2010:
Got my test result today

Speaking 88
Listening 82
Writing 78
Reading 76

Thank God cuz i now have my 20 points to collect.

TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Azy123(m): 1:22am On Sep 03, 2017
I can take a look at the reference letters that you used but what you really need for the content is someone who nominated the same occupation and got positive assessment.

I sent you a PM. Send me one too if you cannot respond to mine.
Once it is properly repackaged you will get a positive assessment just relax.

Download it from skill select. Login to your skill select EOI you will see something like view EOI towards the right top corner. A pdf file will open you can save that and send it. Probably that is what they want.

Good day People,

NT sent me a mail that I should provide point breakdown/calculation from my skillSelect EOI. I screenshot my score which i submitted with other documents and now, they are requesting for breakdown. How do I go about this? Please, it is urgent
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Azy123(m): 2:35pm On Sep 02, 2017
Sorry bro/sis.

As already stated by Alphadoor you need to repackage and then review. ICT experience stated in reference letter is not seen to be at a professional level that is why they did not suggest another ANZSCO to you.

For it to be seen to be on the prof. level :

1) The JD content should not be vague. Some mentions of the technology used would help here.

2) The number of hours MUST be equal or greater than 20 hrs per week. Did your employer state the resumption time and closing time per day and number of days per week OR number of hours per week on your reference letter?

For you to have a positive assessment in your nominated occupation the profesional level experience submitted must be at least 4 yrs. And must be aligned to the ANZSCO nominated. Do you have up to 4 years experience?

Misoke:
your ict skills have been assessed as not meeting the req. for professional i.t experience of 4 years in a field closely related to ur nominated skilled occup.

your qual is assessed as ff:
your b.eng in elect/comp eng from ...has been assessed as comparable to an aqf bach deg.with major in computing

your work exp has been calculated on the basis of full time emp. of at least 20hrs /week

then they wrote the dates of my last two employments episodes and scored me 0years for them

Thanks for your response.

I'm still curious. Please check your assessment result very well.

The following employment after *month Year* is considered to equate to work at an appropriately skilled
level and relevant to 26**** of the ANZSCO Code.

Also see the ACS summary of criteria. While your case may be different , It is better to be 100 % sure before claiming points to avoid overclaiming. And if you are 100% sure please enlighting us so other can benefit from it.

Cheers

JERRYMAG4:
No. I didn't claim any work experience prior to BSc
My degree is from Nigeria

TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Azy123(m): 4:51pm On Aug 25, 2017
@JERRYMAG4 ; Better to check before claiming the points in your EOI.

Alphadoor:
while this is very interesting. i suggest you endeavor to interpret the result more clearly

it should say something like " The following employment after November 2016 is considered to equate to work at an appropriately
skilled level and relevant to 263111 (Computer Network and Systems Engineer) of the ANZSCO Code."

The bolded is the indicator of the deduction.

Congrats on the +ve assessment
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Azy123(m): 3:01pm On Aug 25, 2017
Congratulations!!!!

I have some questions:

1) Did you claim any work experience prior to date of award of your BSc and how many years is it.

2) Is your degree (or Msc if you have one) from Australia.

Thanks

JERRYMAG4:
Hi guys, after about 7 weeks, ACS finally replied me yesterday with a positive feedback. What amazed me most is that, contrarily to different testimonies here that they usually deduct years of experiences, mine were never deducted. I submitted 6 years and was assessed for 6 years and 1 month. I really want to thank everyone for your advice. I know that one day, I will come here and give testimony after my ITA.

In my opinion, it will go a long way in making life easier for everyone especially for newbies.

Newbies will find their way to it just the way we find our way to this thread and other forums that we get our information from. Some of us got to know this thread by googling and some through a friend.

If the blog have good info, those that are motivated and not lazy will find their way to it.

You have my support. ride on

Does anyone have a suggestion for the site name :

ACS only reference letter for you to get positive assessment but DIPB would need more evidence of employment later on during VISA processing. BUt since you have bank statement you should be fine.

Please see attached pdf for your guide. Also visit acs website

KayVutton:
Thanks Azy.
Please one more thing I don't have pay slips. I've always been paid via bank account.
For my experience while in school I have offer letter but can't get reference letters.
Please how do I go about this.
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Azy123(m): 11:47am On Aug 15, 2017
Ok. I have not seen ACS equate CpmTIA A+ to Diploma. Therefore, You need the RPL to be to maximize your point for experience. And dont forget to use experince prior to your Bsc. so ACS can have 6 years to deduct.

KayVutton:
Sorry I'm just replying.

CompTIA A+…..2006
bachelor's........2007
ITIL....................2014
MCSD................2016

Thanks a lot for your time. You and Alphadoor have been too kind.
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Azy123(m): 11:21am On Aug 14, 2017
Hi KayVutton,

RPL samples. Sent check your mail.

Alphadoor asked a question. When did the acquire the profesional certs. the oldest is the most important not the most recent. you may not need RPL afterall.

see the screenshot attache.

CCIE, MCSD are mentioned on ACS assessment guidelines as equivalent to Australian Diploma and that is enough for a positive assessment. However to maximize your points for experience you will need to check which one you acquired first out of the the 4 Education options below:

1) your B.Sc - RPL needed
2) CCIE
3) MCSD
4) Any other certificate you may have e.g MCTS ( Note that ACS recognised some certificates as equivalent to AQF diploma but for some reasons best know to them they did not put it in thier assesment guidline, and if you send mail to them to ask they will simply refer you to the assessment guiline

KayVutton:
Alphadoor please could you send a sample of RPL to me with this email ziglarmercy@gmail.com.
Seems @azy123 isn't isn't online at the moment.

And please I was working as a student and during NYSC at different IT capacities.
I have the offer letters but I don't have payslip. After NYSC and uptill date I've never been paid with payslips but credited directly in my account.
Do I need to show my statement to prove it or my offer letters and promotion letters should suffice.

Thanks a lot.

You need to have a positive assessment first before you can claim points and I think for VETASSES your employment must be relevant for you have have positive assessment. Others that are more familiar with VETASSES can put mouth.

Without positive assessment you can't claim anything.

jorgan:
Pls I hv carefully followed your last 4 replies, but I hv a question, what if your assessing body in this case vetassess, assesses your qualification as highly relevant to ur nominated occupation and comparable to AQF, but your employment is not relevant? Can u still claim points for qualification for EOI?
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Azy123(m):
@ petetherock

From what we know about ACS so far. They are very flexible unlike VETASSES. Some 4 year course in section 2 university had been assessed by ACS as equivalent to AQF degree as evidenced from Alphadoor past post.

So, for ACS, you will never know until you applied. upload ur documents and apply. ACS is worth the risk. Make sure you have enough years for them to deduct just in case they see ur qualification as less than their AQF degree.

Plunge already taken since grin that is why I claimed 15 points. That was what I believed to be true but started doubting and fearing when I saw comments. As it is, nothing has changed.

CASE CLOSED. This case was open on this forum and closed before with the same conclusion.

Thanks lawland for the example from experience. If we like we can read all blogs but one single comparable experience helps put the mind at rest.
Thanks NNBB2012 for the info. Alphadoor #5 pt_movement#

Summary for others

As far as you have a positive assessment from an assessing body and the point you are claiming is clearly supported by CEP. the following applies...

1) If you have a positive assessment with one qualification and have another qualification that is higher you can use the higher qualification to claim point.
2) If your assessment authority is silent on the higher qualification - you can claim point for it
3) If the qualification is not related to your occupation - you can claim point for it
4) Even if you complete the highest qualification yesterday - you can claim point for it today

@ZoeW edit your 189 EOI Asap congrat on your ITA in advance grin

Alphadoor:
Benefits of constructive arguement
Good info from NNBB2012 Lawland
In light of the above information. @zoew @azy123 . The choice is now yours to either take the plunge or not.
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Azy123(m): 12:45pm On Jul 26, 2017
Thanks lawland for your comment.

It is music to my ears.

Can you please help with specifics. I try to send you a PM I don't know if you got it ( just in case you feel the specific are too personal). I need to be 100 % sure on this. Thanks.

Please help to answer the questions below:

1) Did the assessing authority mention the degree at all. In my own case it was not mentioned. Same with ZoeW from that screenshot posted earlier
2) What point was claimed
3) What was the CEP equivalent
4) Were you or any of your friend asked to do VETASSES PTA and did it came out as the same to what was on the CEP.

(4.5) Was the VISA granted . The most important question

5) In the case PTA comes out different, then point is overclaimed, do you think in that case CO may allow one to graciuosly withdraw the application citing human error in form filling??

lawland:
There is always a conflicting information on this topic, but from my experience and that of my friends, you can only be denied visa for qualification if your assessing body assessed your highest qualification as not being comparable to AQF bachelors degree and you go ahead and claim 15 points. If your assessing body didn't assess your highest qualification because it is not related to your nominated occupation, you can go ahead and claim points for it as long as it is comparable to the AQF equivalent. Two ways to know this are by going for PTA with Vetasses or by accessing CEP. Vetassess and DIBP use CEP to assess qualification.A CO will never deny you visa straight away if he is not satisfied with the comparability of your qualification to AQF, you will be asked to go for PTA. Like i said, this is from my own personal experience, intensive research when i was in this situation and from my friends after me.
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Azy123(m):
Well, this is bad news for me. But if that is the correct information. I'm glad I am getting it now rather than later.

I will still do more research on this. Please if you have contrary information to NNB2012, doyen06, iceberg64 and alphadoor info/opinion on this matter. please come out and help a brother.

All of a sudden 65 points has drop to 60 points. cry cry

@ all please ask your questions here so others can counsel and advice. An individual might simply advice or inform you based on what he believe to be true.

*Modified* As it turned out, after constructive argument, we can now say, 100% as @ 26th July 2017, that point can be claimed for the highest qualification obtained whether assessed or not. But it must be according to CEP.

NNBB2012:
You can only claim point from the degree assessed. Don't make mistake of overclaiming points, it might lead to visa refusal.
Your degree is not relevant to the occupation you nominated and that's why your certification was assessed instead. You have can either wait while waiting for 189 or apply for 190. If I were you, I would go for 190.
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Azy123(m): 11:33am On Jul 26, 2017
@ZoeW

It seems you are covered with your 70 point with diploma claim as earlier stated by alphadoor. Lots of update on immitracker from yesterday.

We now see 70 pointers invited.

TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Azy123(m): 9:35am On Jul 26, 2017
Even on other forum we still get conflicting information. Yet there has been people granted VISA in the past without assessing their highest qualification. I am in this situation as well and I do not plan to assess. Unless if someone can tell me that it has change.

I think the emphasis is on Over claiming point

As long as you are sure of the point you should be save

The above are my opinion. And I stand by it, If wrong please someone correct me with following info...

1) point claim
2) Name of school and country of school
3) Equivalent according to CEP ( lawland can help us out here)

It will help me and others too

Our ogas dem please come and put mouth ..

cc Bellong, NNBB2012 etc

doyen06:
Let me start by congratulating you on your postitive assessment. I said here sometimes ago that people should do away with ICT business analyst if possible. I saw some information here that I think I need to correct. You cannot claim point for your university degree because it has not been assessed by the ACS. While waiting for my visa I have seen two people been refused for over claiming points. Any qualification not rubber stamped by the appropraiate assessing authority will not be accepted by DIBP. I'll advice you fill an EOI and wait until you get an invite for 189. Alternatively go the 190 route, you will be considered for the first or second invitation rounds by NSW for example. 70 point is such a good point for state nomination. I wish you all the best.
Azy123:
So far, what we know is that you can claim education point for your highest qualification obtained in any discipline as far as the point you are claiming is correct according to the AQF equivalent.
Azy123:
Congratulations to you.

Your education point is 15 points. Don't shortchange yourself o.

you can claim point for the education even if ACS did not say anything about it as far it is a 5 years course in a section 2 university or 4 yr course in section 1 university.

No need to assess with Vetasses at all. Don't waste time and money. You only need to do that if your assessing authority says they can not assess your degree and refer you to vetassess. in your case ACS is silent on it.

Please submit another EOI ASAP with 75 points.

Abeg I go need PTE training from you o. grin
ZoeW:
As the gist be now..... I no go use my BSc o. So its back to status quo.
