nnamdijonathan: And then what did the residents do about the lack of supply of portable water in the state? You guys only complain on social media instead of staging protests. When Okorocha had his 7th year media speech in Owerri on may 29, 2018, I was expecting Imolites to ask the governor questions that matter but what did I see? You guys wasted the entire time asking stupid questions about elections instead of questions about water supply, road infrastructure, development of Orlu and Okigwe etc. I also remember when Okorocha celebrated his 55th birthday, Imolites bought 27 big cakes to celebrate with him as if all was well with his type of government. It is very unfortunate that you guys have no other choice than to wait for the next election in 2019. Most people complaining are not imolite. It's those that are pained that Okorocha left apga, their said Igbo party and joined apc, their assumed Hausa/Yoruba party and also those who dont want to see anything progress. |

Ofodirinwa: What does that picture have to do with Okorocha? Hope you're not implying he built everything you're looking at in the picture lol LOL. It was Rochas that dualised the two roads (new owerri road and ihioma road) and built the roundabout. That is the popular banana junction in Orlu. |

BreakupNigeria: I guess you didn't even comprehend the article you quoted. It was stated in it that the study was conducted on 6 RANDOM pilot states, one from each geopolitical zone. It wasn't done on the basis of states with the highest GDP. It is on record that Nigerian statistics puts Imo at 5th position, well ahead of Anambra in terms of GDP (the record is there, you can google it). However, I'm surprised that you are okay with the statistics that put Cross River and Niger as both having a higher GDP than Anambra but angry that Imo is said to be ahead of Anambra?? What sort of local champion/crab mentality is that?? Most times these children will come on social media and be saying rubbish told to them by their illiterate boostful elders who can not read and comprehend well. |
Politics › Re: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by B2mario(m): 4:30pm On Jul 17, 2018 |
NonsoWow: If you are talking of GDP, Anambra has the largest GDP in the south east. Abia state is a distant second. Enugu state is basically a civil servant state and should be third or fourth. Oga are you sure you read at all? In terms of GDP, Imo state is the 5th richest state in Nigeria and 1st in the southeast followed by Abia state. |
Politics › Re: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by B2mario(m): 4:21pm On Jul 17, 2018 |
Cjrane2: This is commendable.
However, nobody should take Nigerian statistics of Enugu GDP seriously. To them, Osun state has a higher GDP than Enugu and Anambra combined.
Nigeria has the world's most laughable concoction called "data" on almost everything because data is linked to sharing federal allocation.
No data from official government circles in Nigeria is a true reflection of what is on the ground. It is always manipulated for federal allocation. My brother I tire for them oo. Most of their studies and statistics showed that southeast is the zone with the highest poverty level in southern Nigeria. But when there is a federal or international programme for poverty alleviation, southeast will not be considered or maybe just one state while most of the projects will be taken to most states in the southwest which they claim is the zone with the lowest poverty level in south and Nigeria at large. |

Afam4eva: While the crop of politicians we had in pre civil war were charismatic and the best we've had is because they had leverage. If they were around in this present dispensation, they would have been just as bad as the present crop. Our problem started from the civil war, after which there was a conscious effort to make sure we do not rise politically or economically and in order to do so, they needed to select politicians from our areas who will not ask too much question. They choose people who were more after filling their own pockets than the betterment of Igboland. That's the present crop of politicians you would see defending the present government against the atrocities of Igbo people. A case in point is Rochas, Orji Uzor Kalu, Ken Nnamani and eve the ones in the opposition. They can't risk being seen as adversaries to the Hausa-Fulani hegemony. Inclusive of Obiano to make the list complete |

potent5: A Yola High Court Presided over by Justice Abdul-Azeez Waziri has sentenced five men to death for culpable homicide and for killing a herdsman.
The convicts, Alex Amos, Alheri Phanuel, Holy Boniface, Jerry Gideon and Jari Sabagi of Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State, were found guilty of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide which contravened Section 96 (1) (a) and Sections 79 and 221 (b) of the Penal Code of Laws of Adamawa State, 1997.
The convicts were said to have on June 1, 2017 at Kadamun village in Demsa local Government Area willfully and intentionally conspired and attacked three herdsmen rearing cattle, killing one of them, Adamu Buba, whose body they threw into a river and also maimed several cows.
Justice Waziri said the case against the accused persons had been proved beyond reasonable doubt by the counsel to the state, Mr. Salihu Mohammed. He ruled: “I hereby sentence the accused persons on counts one and two to death by hanging, while on counts four and five, I sentence the accused to three years in prison to run concurrently. “Any aggrieved party is at liberty to file an appeal to the Court of Appeal, Yola Judicial Division within 90 days from today.”
