Sadly, this is the price of progress, people get left behind. At least it will stop the trailer load of Hausa youths that troop into lagos daily and those weird village men that love drinkin spirits. Let them return home. If various State Governments can set-up large scale farms, these people will make willing hands to work them. |
I just wished these Old Nobel lauretes will let this case rest. Pointing fingers after 40years??...The people that carried out whatever they're being accused of are dead!!!...What's next ![]() |
phantom: i am igbo....but i think this awo this awo that is really getting sickening.i come on nairaland in the morning and the first thing i see is this kind of threads.na wa o!I love your frame of mind. Don't know why people are giving themselves headaches about issues that happened over 40yrs ago when a large percentage of them didn't even witness it. |
zeal500: Simply put, Truth hurtsIts Achebe's opinion. I don't question what a man does or says....its the motive that is paramount. So what are u goin to do with this information?? (We've not even heard the other side yet). Strike down the next Yoruba man you see that has no idea what its all about?? Or refuse to do biz wiv them ....Goodluck with that. |
Nigerians should be wary of a group of Tribal diasporans that sit in foreign countries an encourage us to fight ourselves here. If the war breaks out, they'll start granting interviews on how "They saw this coming" or justifying the reason they left the country. Be careful what and whom you listen to. |
Its a pity Achebe chose to use his influence to sow the seed of discourse in the minds of a generation that never witnessed the war.....to what end? Maybe so we'll pass the hatred on to our children and unborn generations. That influence would have gone better in uniting people. Well, I guess he wants us to continue from where we left off on the civil war. |
gboss4sure: Do you think you are better than any igbo man on NL?Sir, no one is claiming to be bettr off here but....these are your thot patterns so far: "I don't like my country","My tribe is hated"....,You know its your thots that will determine your actions which in turn determines where you'll end up. |
Igbos haven't dominated my life like they seem to have dominated that dude's life. I'm looking out for honest, God-fearing, positive minded people to dominate my own life....I belive the ease at which Igbos settle in the West proves that the yorubas don't hate them. Simple logic. |
docokwy: https://www./igboville/permalink/404800009574842/Simply one man's opinion. You choose to accept it because it agrees with your perception. I differ though. |
I don't think an Igbo person that is highly sucessful and made his money in the west would come out and say he's hated. Its probably the boy in his shop in computer village, Ladipo or Alaba that would utter that kind of statement. If yorubas hated u so much why would they patronize your biznesses? Wouldn't it be easier to attack you all and take over your biz. I don't know highly sucessful people that made it doin biz with only their tribe, Y'all better get over that "They hate us" frame of mind. |
lol "The rest of what you've written occurs only in your head" lol I thought I was the only one who noticed that.
Its true bro, I know a lot of humble Igbo guys and ladies that couldn't care less what you thot about them but there's this set of few that can be so proud and love boasting so much.....nd they end up being the ones that haven't acheived much. |
UncleJJ: People are still killed everday in lagos. In the islands thier are political riots all the time . The ACN are more babaric . Its just that yoruba"s never complain when they cheated by another yoruba man.I seriously doubt that you reside in Lagos, let alone Nigeria. |
gboss4sure: Is clear that the hatred for igbos is born out of pure jealousness cause no one here has given a pure reason why they hate igbos rather they are trying ti divert the topic. You see, nobody hates you guys but you keep giving reasons why they should. Its as if you want to be hated. Yes, I dislike people that walk around with an illusion of importance when they still have a lot of shortcommings. Pride.....over trivial things, it blinds you to you faults and fills your head with a false sense of superiority. |
kcswat: Why won't they hate us? They turn on their TV and there is Nollywood which is Igbo made. They switch on their radio and there's Bracket, flavour and P-Square. They switch to super sports to watch English league they see anichebe, mikel, nedum onuoha etc they went to market to buy things Igbos sell to them, they check Lagos IGR igbos constitute the highest tax payers.they buy walk about slippers they see MADE IN ABA. They enter INNOSON MOTORS. We dominate on every thing. They watch falcons its 95% Igbo. They hv sold all there fathers properties to Igbos.best student in all SW universities are Igbos while they can't even pass aptitude test in Eastern Unis.Jamb statistic we dominate. Igbos own d most beautiful houses in Lagos. MBGN Igbos even represent Oyo n some SW states.I'm yoruba and I "like" P-square nd Flavour (Igbo products). If there were hated in the west radio stations won't play their music. I'm frankly not crazy bout the footballers u mentioned but i know a lot of Yoruba guys that "Like" Mikel. Apart from used spare-parts, I'm still thinking of what else I buy from Igbo traders. After watching Hollywood films, Nollywood seems like trash, my slippers is Timberland. And true, I belive the gurl that represented Ms Ogun in a recent MBGN is an Igbo girl and is a friend of mine. The rest of what you've written occurs only in your head. With statements like this Ppl can still like Igbo peeps but dislike you in particular. |
shaybe baby: Ba7man..I see you. Come back here...!!!*Grabs boxer shorts and jumps from 3rd floor window* |
I just pray that hatred for each other is not one of the legacies our so revered heroes leave behind at this rate. |
PointB: You don't care. Others do, and deserves the right to be heard. So you bave the choice to ignore threads like this. No one is going to forget the death on over 2 million people simple because folks like you don't care!Well, you're all free to dig up Awolowo's grave and play war drums with his bones. I prefer to focus on a future.....goodluck with comin to terms with the past. |
gboss4sure: Are you trying to tell me that yourobas doesn't hate igbosTrust me, if u guys were hated, the western part of Nigeria wouldn't be as populated with Igbo indigenes as it is. Got loads of Igbo friends and ur gurls are cute too. What's to hate?? Don't let some people infect you with their paranoia. |
@Shaybe babe. Mummy No-no ....*Hurriedly packs his 'Ghana must go' bag and high tails it out of the Romance section window!!* |
@Shaybe babe. Heyyyy!!!!......how u doin?? Guess who this is. To those criticizing the gurl, "He without sin cast the first stone". Yeah, 15 in 4yrs is much but I'v heard worse nd i won't be surprized that a large percentage of people that have viewd this topic or criticized her have done worse. If any person gets mad at this post, the person is a likely suspect too. @ Poster, its never to late to change and soon it will all be a distant memory. |
Don't belive the hype. I'm yoruba but when i first discovered Nairaland i thot Igbos hated Yorubas with a passion.....but i later realized that it was just a bunch of hate filled minority that tried to create that impression. If that really was the case, agberos wuld always look for opportunities to kill Igbo traders but u can see the number of Igbos co-existing peacefully with other tribes around you. The real Igbos are busy doin bizness with other tribes right now and vice-versa. If you look for hate, you will find it and it will end up killing you. |
I'm a Yoruba man but i like my Igbo friends too much to listen to anyone trying to sow the spirit of hate in minds. Be it Awolowo, Ojukwu, Fashola, my father, my pastor....etc. |
This set of people still holding grudges against a civil-war that occured over 40yrs ago should pls move on and not let their hatred for each other to transcend generations. I don't care who ordered what....they are dead and it wasn't me that was offended neither is it their children around me that carried out these atrocities. |
omenziate: He doesn't understand sarcasm, not errbody is on d same level of IQ as u, b gracious enof to explain to him in layman terms. Thanks in advance.Thank you my brother, "Sacarsm" was the key word i was trying to remember. |
Stallion77: Hey...From which planet did you emanate? this is why i have always supported the use Parental Guidance on Nairaland. This is obviously enough proof. MOD,can you read this quoted post? or am i the only one seeing this? Someone needs rescue! helloRather, you should learn to read between lines and not be so one-dimensional in your reasoning. What I'm implying is clear for the discerning mind to figue out, I don't always have to spell it out as if I'm talking to a 4year old. |
I strongly agree with Malam Ei-Rufai. Dino Melaye is a man that has dedicated his whole life to fighting for the oppressed in the society. I heard he doesn't even engage in sex at all....Just like the way he strictly takes cabs and refuses to drive the flashy cars he owns. |
Hmmmmm....all this angle grinder and jigsaw talk makes me wanna run out nd do the same to my car. I'll ride in the boot of the finished car if there's no spare room shotgun provided i don't ruin the handling balance. Welldone sir. |
Fake hair, fake nails, fake eyes, fake accent, fake bust,..........Why won't real men be scared. |
If you include kidnap for ritual killings, human trafficking, and for ransom I think we've got a problem in this country.....But 25 percent It can't b that bad. |
