They are afraid of him now that's why. PDP had no fear of Buhari in previous elections but now fear don dey catch dem. |
Elculio:You're the one spreading falsehood. He never said the originals were with the military only the copies. The constitution allows for equivalent to secondary school certificate and his cadet training alone to join the army is equivalent to that, not to mention all the other academic courses he took. You cannot accuse someone who rose through the military ranks to become a general of not having equivalent of secondary level education. Common sense should tell you that but unfortunately that's no longer common nowadays. |
mrborntodoit:How do you know it's not similar. Is the curriculum also listed on the plaque? |
mrborntodoit:Nobody ever claimed he was an MSc holder. The only claims anybody ever made was that the training was equivalent meaning the training for those awarded Masters level degrees was similar. Chikena. |
englishmart:I see. And all Nigerians can see the type of morally bankrupt people who are supporting Jonathan. You are all losers already. |
Only a loser will continue to make noise about this so called certificate controversy. Buhari joined the Nigerian Army in 1962, at that time O'Levels was not a requirement to join the military. Many young men in Buhari's time joined the military without O'Levels. The Nigerian constitution in section 131(d) prescribes that a candidate for president must have been educated up to secondary school certificate level or its equivalent. He attended cadet school in the UK in 1962 and successfully completed many training courses in subsequent years including a Masters level course at the U.S. war college in 1979/80 after which he attained the rank of brigadier-general. Basically his level of academic training is definitely superior to secondary school certificate level. The army has copies of all the relevant documentations. The originals were lost after his house was ransacked by soldiers on the orders of IBB who imprisoned him for three years after the 1985 coup. |
Guy use your head na. The picture of the plaque you're using to judge is not complete. It only shows the faculty and international fellows, the graduates are still below. The people on the list you're looking for are deceased alumni so they should be under graduates. Look for the full plaque of 1980 graduates and you should see their names. |
englishmart:So if it happens by rigging the elections you're okay with that right? |
This professional liar and praise singer Doyin Okupe needs to shut up once and for all. A godless man who compared his boss to Jesus is now criticizing someone else on the basis of religion. Jonathan and his crew have used religion to divide this country like no other leader in the history of Nigeria. God will judge them all one by one. GMB 2015. |
Have you read his commendation letter to Prof. Dora Akunyili? Very inspiring stuff and it's in his own handwriting too. |
doctokwus:Honestly, truth be told Obj is indirectly responsible for many of Nigeria's problems today. He had a great opportunity to rule as a national statesman but he was a partisan ruler till the very end favouring his party PDP over the country. When he was leaving Aso Rock he put his person Yar Adua there and looked for the weakest, dullest, most compliant and most obedient politician to be the vice, that's how we got GEJ. Unfortunately for him Yar Adua died in office and GEJ decided to serve other masters. |
fesnge:You are not a true Christian. No true Christian would ever say such nonsense as this even as a joke. |
doctokwus:Thank you my brother. You have spoken well. God bless you for telling the truth. |
abiambo:So that picture as posted is evidence to you that he can't run his Twitter account. It's obvious that you're not a serious person. |
So it is the position of his picture on twitter that is your own electoral issue abi? What does this have to do with the many pressing issues facing Nigeria? It's baffling sometimes how some people think. |
simplemach:You don't beg terrorists or negotiate with them. You crush them. Maintaining security is the first job of the commander in chief and chief security officer of the country which happens to be the president. If he cannot do the job that he was elected to do then he needs to step aside and stop blaming his political opponents. |
People of integrity recognize other people of integrity especially when the system around them is so corrupt. Buhari recognized the personal integrity and potential of Dora Akunyili and recommended her for higher office, the rest as they say is history. Can such a thing happen again in Nigeria of today? Do we have a government today that can encourage and reward honesty and integrity? People please think wisely and vote for character instead of personalities. The politics of tribalism and sentiments can never solve the many problems facing our beloved country. Vote GMB 2015. God bless Nigeria. |
Hmmm, now I see why they need 21 billion naira. The hands waiting to share that campaign money are very plenty. |
Eluwilussit:Fair enough. I don't know if you're old enough to recall the events leading up to and immediately after that coup. I remember it and believe me the vast majority of Nigerians across the country were in support. The stench of corruption and ineptitude were at levels never seen before until maybe this current government. I've never been an advocate of military intervention in government but every country's civic mentality evolves over time. I don't think one should judge the events of those days based only on the mentality of today. |
Kingspin:Don't compare military rule with civilian era. We're practicing democracy now under a constitution. Nowhere in the constitution of Nigeria does it say that north and south should exchange rulership every two terms. You are the one playing geopolitical politics by saying that your man should be allowed to stay in power simply because he is not from the northern part of the country. I am only concerned with voting for the person that can do a better job of managing the country's resources for me and my children and generations yet unborn. All the money wasted under Jonathan will still be paid for by my children and your children. By the way I never supported OBJ's third term agenda. It was very wrong and I was glad when the plan didn't work and he left. I will be glad when GEJ is gone this year by God's grace. |
Kingspin:GEJ is not entitled to a second term in office. Six years is enough for an incompetent leader to rule. If he had performed well I would be the first person to vote him for a second term, but based on his performance my conscience cannot allow me to support foolishness. He has done nothing to deserve another term. |
Kingspin:Yes. Obasanjo was also there before and he came back to rule as a civilian. Nothing stops Buhari from doing the same. |
More PDP propaganda, this time it's OIC membership. Let's be clear on the facts. Buhari had nothing to do with Nigeria's membership of OIC. Gowon (a Christian) registered us as an observer country in 1969 and IBB (GEJ's father) registered us as a full member in 1986. During his brief regime Buhari refused to sign on to make Nigeria a full member of OIC despite intense pressure from some international Muslim interests. By the way, most of the OIC member states are secular countries, and many are majority Christian countries. For example, Ivory Coast, Benin Republic, Togo, Gabon, Uganda, Cameroon, Mozambique, Sierra Leone etc. All fellow African countries with more Christians than Muslims and yet full members of OIC. Sharia has not been implemented in any of those countries yet. Please let's not give in to fear or propaganda. |
Kingspin:Let's wait and see. At least now we know what Jonathan can and cannot do. |
BrosPeter:What does that have to do with what we are saying? If you have any evidence that Buhari has corruptly enriched himself at any point then produce it. If you have no evidence then keep quiet. The man has challenged anyone that can prove that he stole money to come forward, so far no one has taken the challenge but maybe you know something that the rest of the world doesn't know though. |
BrosPeter:Serving under Abacha does not automatically mean a person is corrupt. |
Sincere9gerian:I disagree with you on this. Corruption in Nigeria is only endemic because of permissiveness from the top. The Buhari approach didn't work in the early 80s because his military government was overthrown after only 20 months and it was the new military government under IBB that institutionalized corruption in Nigeria. IBB made it normal to be corrupt and subsequent governments since then have normalized corruption further under their rule. Under Jonathan the issue has reached a crisis point. Corruption has become more centralized than ever before. All of those systemic changes you're talking about are still subject to corruption at the center. At least OBJ and Yar Adua made a show of prosecuting corruption a little bit. Under Jonathan it has been open season on the Nigerian treasury, nobody has been successfully prosecuted talk less of going to jail. It's been one major scandal after another; from kerosene scam to oil subsidy scam to CBN versus NNPC $20 billion controversy to massive depletion of the country's foreign reserves. Committees are set up, then paid off. Reports are written then buried. Haba! Aren't you tired of all this nonsense? It's time to put someone in government who has a track record of not condoning such things. |
Eluwilussit:So are you saying Nigerians should fold their arms and do nothing while the treasury is being bled dry, incompetence is being celebrated and terrorists are taking over sections of the country? To do nothing at this time is an endorsement of failure. No country can ever achieve true progress until the people demonstrate to those in power that they have the ability to remove them when they fail to perform. Only then will leaders begin to sit up and give us their best. You think this election is about Buhari but you're wrong, it's about Jonathan. Is Buhari change? No. But is he change from Jonathan? Yes. That is all that matters for now. If he gets there and he starts to mess up then we will remove him too. That is how a democracy is supposed to work. |
Oga Jona don't worry yourself again. We the people are working on an anti-corruption plan for you. We will deliver it on Feb 14 as a Valentine's Day gift. |
This is PDP's issue based campaign. How does this stop Buhari from winning in February? If somebody said something similar about GEJ they will shout that you're insulting the president. |
Ok. So where is Jonathan's manifesto? We need to make a side by side comparison. |
I don't see any member of Obama's family leading him out of the plane in those two pictures you posted. His daughter is beside him in the first one and he's not even in the second picture at all. Seun: |
