Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country. A piece of advice for my ibo friends. Perpetuating a dependent and passive society with the constant cries and begging for this and that is not the way toward for any society. Asking the federal government to do what other states are doing on their own for you is basically letting your own leader like governors, reps, senators, ministers and federal agency directors off the hook and this is why they are not doing much to develop iboland. They are not accountable for anything since the general and antiquated believe within the ibo community is that the federal government is responsible for everything in iboland. This is why their is no grand ideas and vision to develop iboland coming from your state houses. Your leaders perpetuated this dependent society and you the young generation are obsessed with the same faulty and no backbone thinking. Instead of begging daily for some useless federal government to fix some old airport for you, what about your leaders getting together, pull together your resources and build the best regional international airport in Nigeria? Can you not build your own bridge? Stop wasting your your time begging year after year, promise after promise with nothing to show for it. Get your own and stop begging. The most superior folks in Nigeria shouldn't be begging for development, the most industrious folks in Nigeria shouldn't be begging, the brain box of Nigeria shouldn't be begging, you should be leading with development and industrialization while the less superior rest of the country follow your lead and not the other way around. Bottom line, your leaders are taking you for a ride and you are giving them the cover to get away with it with all your fixation on the federal government as your Moses to get you to the promise land. |
kunlekunle: that may be the case,The Australian government and intetpol picked on him selectively too? |
olas2u: Are you talking of tree plantin, atleast we thank God that one is done by NigeriansNot every discussion is for trolls and clowns to participate in. |
PapaBrowne: The problem with NIgerians. We fixate every problem on the FG in Abuja.Unfortunately for you, lagos state roads are not Jonathan business and the lagos state government built more roads than your Jonathan did as a governor and as the president of Nigeria combined even with all the oil money his mismanaging and sitting on including the money he's denying lagos state with his illiterate bad bele ways...shiorrr. |
Collins93304: whooped by Yoruba? I deyAsk your village elders who whooped your biafran azzz and who you surrendered to. also ask them why hausa folks slaughter you all the time like ileya goats.. The joke is on you fool. |
There are vocational ed schools for Areaboys and 17 skills acquisition centers all over the state with thousands of graduate business owners. The problem is overpopulation and excessive pressure on available infrastructure and resources, the state simply can not keep up with demand. We need serious decongestion and population control. Lagos state doesn't have the resources to cater to Nigeria's failure and folks from all over other Nigerian states affected by this failure. Even tax paying lagosians are not getting their moneys worth because of overstretching of available meager resources. |
Collins93304: It will surely happen, afterall Igbos own all of Festac, Satellite and Orile. As fellow Nigerians, our goal is to move into the new Eko Atlantic City and then the government house. Igbos practise what they believe, which is the unity of Nigeria. This same delusions and misguided thoughts is the reason why you people get your azz whooped all the time. |
This is what you get when people don't know the difference between poverty and awoof... |
The best solution is to scrape off what's left of that dirty road and start all over by expanding it and creatinga dedicated lane like brt for trailers and tankers. Ultimately, they need to shift away from moving goods with trailers and tankers and start using rail |
KnowAll: [size=18pt]You see those trailers carrying containers in the top picture. Can u imagine a trailer entrying a pot hole with all that load, thereby making the whole payload tilt over in-coming vechiles, that is what happened to my Uncle's car.But according to Jonathan, more people die on good roads than bad roads |
grafikii: But why these fabrications, are they that desperate or they have lost somethingInsecurity and low self esteem. |
adebayosun02: Pls check, those area, Okomaiko Ijora e.t.c. are they Not Mainland?Yes I checked, they are not on the island, is ijora and okokomaiko not on the island where the elites live. Stop defending fashola and his anti people policies. Enough is Enough.. |
geeez: They should even allocate some plots on the third mainland bridge for them to build their shanties while some can build theirs on the MMIA runway ilugunboy: LMAO....I got your drift bro! Let them keep defecating and despoiling the land as they are poor people jooor. The fact is, Fashola is too soft and lenient because this settlement should have been gotten rid of long time ago, now in so many instances his hands are tied because of silly accusations of some dumb and misguided anti poor people policies especially.policies designed to help the same poor people. It's like poor masses is the new code for lawlessness and I'm above the law. The down side of petting them get away with these lawless behaviour is the illegal expansions and encroachments deep into the lagoon unchecked and now hard to take care of.... Poor or not, many nigerians are just lawless and anti progress.. |
Osun ti dara...a It's obvious that the ACN states are creating firewalls with these projects gainst any PDP hopes in the SW.. Kudos... |
We know the numbers are bogus, people spew them after consuming too much Akpu. |
ilugunboy: Why this everytime...? I think its time the LASG find a way to relocate the log merchants out of that area...their activity is endangering the bridge and users.Another anti people suggestion with no human face. This is going to work against the poor masses. You need to leave the poor people alone, let the poor people build their shanties on the lagoon and shitttt, dump their shit in the lagoon, let them burn anything they want fire or no fire. They are poor and they must be allowed to do whatever they want. |
These drunken clowns are high on paraga again? Must they always open their drunken mouth? |
Since you think that incompetent dullard is performing by continuing other people plans and ideas, what about doing his job by fixing all the death trap federal roads in lagos. Oh I forgot, according to the idiot, more people die on good roads than bad roads so fixing our roads is out of the question..Please don't rubbish this thread with dirty and useless names like GEJ abeg. |
kingingkinging: I thought they said it is a world bank project? Pls clarify. I don't know and want to know. kingingkinging: I thought they said it is a world bank project? Pls clarify. I don't know and want to know.I know many ignorant people think everything in lagos is financed by the world, but don't believe everything you read . This project is financed by the people of lagos state. The world bank is not connected or involved in anyway. |
Abeg scramble and drink fanta, na happy and joyous occasion. Eko o ni baje o |
You guys are wicked sha. Lafta is killing my ribs..lmao |
abouzaid: As usual the thread have been hijacked by unemployed, lazy and low IQ nigerians. The point is that no country at peace deserves those stats, nor do they reflect the experienced the reality. The awo comment was a friendly jab, face the issues.Call it what you want, ours is to state truth and dispel rubbish. |
lagcity: there is no excuse for your failure. The foreign investments were paid for by Yorubas and other wealthy Nigerians, not stolen. Do you really think any Nigerian, including the great Awo, can steal or take over British companies and send them packing? don't be pathetic! Are you minding them. They were busy doing boy boy for hausa people and carrying on with there hatred and tribalism ow when Awo the smart sage saw the future and built till today the largest industrial estates in Nigeria and west Africa, now they are crying about industries and making silly excuses. In fact, these industries were built way before independence. |
abouzaid: the secret is the foreign investment u stole during the indigenization degree by awolowo besides, do you really believe this stats? It looks like what u get from a country locked in over 30yrs of civil war. I did my service in niger state last yr and i found it difficult to believe that a state with so much beggars, almajiri and mud living subsistent farmers with out electricity have the least poverty rate. The elections took me to places that none of you would recognise as nigeria. Poverty is too visible there for me to believe they are the least poverty stricken. Forgeet education cos they have none. Ask the coppers that taught at their poly, coe and uni. Forget the secondary schools. You people say all the time that you're the smartest, you are the brain box, you're Jews, you're Japanese, you're industrious, you own the whole of Nigeria, but you are not only admiting here that you people failed, you're are blaming your failure and incompetence as a society on some 40 year old tales, you're are basically saying you are incapacitated and unable to progress 40 years after the fact. So where is the brain box? So which is wish? lol @ industrious people without industries.....smh |
FreeGlobe: give us a link or picture eko ole. you are really following nicely after your mentor Tinubu footstepsIts under your bed. Are you too lazy to look? |
lol @ the usual congregation of internet trolls, rats and clowns. Look under ya bed, you might get lucky. |
But our resident chest beaters are always beating their chests and telling us that their villages have the lowest poverty rate in Nigeria, but they actually have the highest numbers in Nigeria. Smh.... |
danjohn: Tribalist!!!Do they arrest people for that because tribalist a crime or its an abomination to love your tribe? Please hit the curb... |
danjohn: I have truly come to realize that in politics there are no permanent friends and enemies. I completely agree with PointB on this one. Lagos is a microcosm of Nigeria. If there is any state in Nigeria where a non-indigene can get elected, it would be Lagos. Lagos could set the pace for national integration. Nigeria needs to move away from State of origin and start focusing on state of residence. If a person has made Lagos his home, has children enrolled in Lagos school, owns a business that contributes to the Lagos economy, and is an active member of the community, why shouldn't such a person be given a shot at rising through the ranks of the political ranks in Lagos?Rubbish..... We don't need Donald duck and we don't need akala either, we have more than enough skilled and talented Yoruba people to run Yoruba land. |
gbosaa: Eko_ole, you should change the topic to; IGBO MAN ACQUIRES ANOTHER LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT PROPERTY; SET TO TRAIN YORUBA AREA BOYS TO BECOME MECHANICS.So this is why you're mad and rampaging all over the place like a lunatic clown. It's all because they did not put this project in your village. Think about. Why put such human and capital investment in your inhuman, cannibalistic environment where you kidnap and slaughter each other like ileya goats... Ndo... |
oyb: You for put star of david to complete the color riotYou noticed the color riot too? lol... Suxs to be you know what... |
Guk: Obviously, you are poking fun. Anyway, this bridge was built using the Private Public Partnership btwn Julius Berger and LASG. Julius Berger shall collect Toll on the bridge for a number of years and provide to LASG, their own % earningsYour JB ppp is bogus unless you have the contract agreement to show us. Even if JB invested their money, what's wrong with that? Investment is the soul of any economy and I hope and pray many more invest in our state and help upgrade our infrastructures. They delivered a quality, first class and ground breaking project which already boosted our profile and landscape. Once again, another first in Nigeria is in the SW. Also, the result of investments is dividends. Either way you look at it or whatever negative spin you prefer to throw at it, its still bogus because at the end of the day or years from now, this beautiful bridge belongs to the people of lagos state, not the federal government, not any other state in Nigeria or even JB, it belongs to the people of lagos. The joke is on you. Eko o ni baje Lai Lai... |
