My dear babs787, you had only hoped that I would 'eat back my words'. . but sorry, your islamic games did not start today, and I've noted that many times before.

If the call for you to remain focused on the topic of a thread gets you raving, what's the worry? It's all the same thing - you guys tried that game with me, but then it so happened that it became your worst nightmare when it didn't work on me. I knew you were waiting until after Ramaddan to come back on the Forum with the same games. Just take style crawl back to your errand boys and let them know that the fasting for more games on pilgrim.1 is not working at all.

Cheers.
No need for your ranting. You accused muslims of diverting topic in other thread but here your sister did what you accused muslims of. Dont you have anything to say to that rather than going round in circles. You know that babs is always here for you anytime his attention is needed.

The topic still is: Imagine a worldwide ban on bibles.

Dear nooru,

Which Bible did Muhammad read during his time?
Do you want us to go into history and corruption of the bible again?

It is not like that. I siddon jejely but noticed that your people are not satisfied with their religion and want more from other religion, so I decide to be giving it to them. You are free to address me sir grin and ignore atheists.

Let me add this

Marriage by force by fire

Deuteronomy 25 v 5: If brothers dwell together and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the dead shall not be married outside of the family to a stranger, her husband's brother shall go into her, and take her as his wife.

WHAT IF HE REFUSES??

Deuteronomy 25 v 7: and if the man does not wish to take his brother's wife then his brother's wife shall go up to the gate of the elders and say: 'my husband's brother refuses to perpetuate his brother's name in Israel, then the elders of his city shall call him.

And if he persists. Then his brother's wofe shall go up to him in the presence of the elders and pull his sandal off to his foot and spit in his face and shll answer and say; 'so it shall be done to the man who does not build up his brother's house. And the name of his house shall be called in Israel. The house of him that had his sandal pulled off.

CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME THE MORAL BEHIND THE STORY?

{Deuteronomy 22:28-30}: "If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and assaults her and they are discovered, he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives"

It means that the girl must love him by force by fire

Voodoo and Superstition in the Bible:

Leviticus 14 v

49 To purify the house he is to take two birds and some cedar wood, scarlet yarn and hyssop.

50 He shall kill one of the birds over fresh water in a clay pot.

51 Then he is to take the cedar wood, the hyssop, the scarlet yarn and the live bird, dip them into the blood of the dead bird and the fresh water, and sprinkle the house seven times.

52 He shall purify the house with the bird's blood, the fresh water, the live bird, the cedar wood, the hyssop and the scarlet yarn.

53 Then he is to release the live bird in the open fields outside the town. In this way he will make atonement for the house, and it will be clean."

Please, how is the killing of any bird and use of cedar wood supposed to physically clean or purify any house? It is clear that this is a voodoo and superstitious practice.

Alhamdulilah!

There is nothing better than for all our loved ones to be with us in Al Janah on that day.
Yes thats what I have been praying for and Allah finally answered my prayer. He is now organising prayers for his departed parents, though they died as christians. He still believes that Allah is Merciful and will pardon them.

your iman strong no be small!
Its not an easy job o. It is normal for one to feel bad when you know that someone is going or has gone astray. One can only preach but acceptance lies with Allah. I saw the light through a prominent religious comparator called Abdul Lateef Adebowale but now late. He started the Izharul Haqq Dawah. May Allah forgives him his sins and grant him Al Jannah Firdaus.

I could remember when I told my people that no more clapping but bowing and prostrating, they all thought something had gone wrong with me but Alhamdulillah, my family have all accepted the light but has continue praying for my uncles, aunts, etc because some are Jehovah Witness members, Redeem, Deeper Life etc in which the latter doesnt have nor permit watching Tv in his house.

Allah Akbar

I thought that he was just pulling my legs since we have all preached to him with proofs to no avail.

I called a brother of mine closer to him and he confirmed same to me. I went to his house and Alhamdulillah, the story remained same. He had made the Shahadah, learnt Surah Fatiha and three shortest Surahs.

When the fasting got to 20, my father made sure that he gave sawn and Iftah to people who are fasting. He also told me that he is doing all these in order to make up for the days he'd been dancing about because he never knew if this may be his last time on earth.

You dont have to wait for long cheesy. Since most of you have decided to be lifting out of context or giving part sayings, I have decided to paste the hadith so that you all can benefit and learn.

Happy reading,

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Apostle said, "I have been sent with the shortest expressions bearing the widest meanings, and I have been made victorious with terror (cast in the hearts of the enemy), and while I was sleeping, the keys of the treasures of the world were brought to me and put in my hand." Abu Huraira added: Allah's Apostle has left the world and now you, people, are bringing out those treasures (i.e. the Prophet did not benefit by them).

Lailatul-Qadr
(The Night of Power-Decree or Honour)

Allah the Almighty has immortalised this honourable NIGHT in the everlasting miracle of Islam, the Holy Quran, in a single Surah called 'Al-Qadr' or the Night of power, honour and decree. Here are its verses:

In the Name of Allah, The Beneficient, The Merciful

[97v1] We revealed it (Quran) in the Night of Destiny.
[97v2] How awesome is the Night of Destiny!
[97v3] The Night of Destiny is better than a thousand months.
[97v4] The angels and the Spirit descend therein, by their Lord's leave, to carry out every command.
[97v5] Peaceful it is until the advent of the dawn.

Sayyib Qutb, while elucidating some of the hidden and open secrets which this Surah is teemed with, says, 'this Surah speaks about the promised great night which the whole universe marked with joy and prayers. It is the night of perfect communication between this world and the Highest Society. It is the night which marked the beginning of the revelation of the Quran to Muhammed (saw), an event unparralleled in the history of mankind for its splendour and the significance it has for the life of mankind as a whole. Its greatness is far beyond human realization'.

'Its title THE NIGHT OF POWER may be taken to mean assignment, designation and organization, or it may mean value, position and rank. Both meanings are relevant to that great universal event of the revelation of the Quran and the assignment of thr message to the Prophet Muhammad (saw).

Abdul Hamid Siddiq, in his valuable explanatory notes on Sahih Muslim, says: 'This night has innumerable blessings in store for the Muslims since it is an anniversary of the revelation of the Holy Quran. The Angels descend to the God-loving people with the infinte reward on His behalf.'

On the other hand, Mr. Muhyyddin Misto in his book 'As- Sawn' says: this night has gotthree distinguishing features:

1. It is better than a thousand months i.e spending it in good deeds such as prayer, reading the Quran, supplications, etc equals the reward of that of 1,000 months.

2. The angels descend in it - by the permission of their Lord - for every commandment.

3. It is peace till the break of the morning.

4. Allah has concealed the Night of Power in the last ten days of Ramadhan so that the Muslims may seek it, their keeness (for faith and worship) may grow and all their nights during the concluding part of the month be spent in prayers as was the case with the Sacred Prophetl

Sayyid Qutb, in Zilal Al-Quran says: we, the believers in Islam, are commanded not to forget or neglect this event. The Prophet has taught us an easy and enjoyable way to commemorate that night, so that our souls may always be in close communion with it and the universal event which took place in it. He has urged us tp spend this night of each year in devotion. He (saw) said: 'seek the Night of Power in the last ten nights of Ramadhan'.' He who spends the night of power in worship, with a pure motive of faith and devotion, will have his past sins forgiven'.

LAILATUL-QADR, without a doubt, is not fixed at a certain night and there is no exact date for it. It is related by Aisha that: 'the Prophet used to say that one should seek the Night of Power in the ODD Nights of the last ten days of Ramadhan'.

The spiritual experiences of Lailatul Qadr differ with different persons and the experience of one does not make it a final judgement for the others. The general explanation given for it is that the person who is fortunate enough to have the spiritual of Lailatul Qadr perceives such an immensely grand celestial light that the light of the Sun pales into significance before him and he feels as if the sun has been bereft of its light.

This blessed night must be spent in

1. Offering prayers individually or collectively.

2. Allah's remembrance, reciting the Quran, supplication

3. performing both of the I'sha (Night) and Fajr (dawn) prayers in congregation.

Since invocation is the essence of worship, according to the sound Hadith, we should spend some time begging Allah, the Almighty, to grant us His condonation. In the sound Hadith concerning the supplication on the Night of Power 'O Allah! You are forgiving and you love forgiveness, grant me forgiveness.

Aishah (radhiya Allahu Ta'ala anha), that she said: "O Messenger of Allah! What if I knew which night Lailatul-Qadr was, then what should I say in it?" He said 'Say
Allahumma innaka 'affuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'anni' "

(O Allah You are The One Who pardons greatly, and loves to pardon, so pardon me.)
[at Tirmidhi]

May Allah (SWT) make it easier for us.

Bismillah Al-Rahman Al-Raheem

Fellow Muslim brothers and sisters, Alhamdulillah we have entered into yet another last ten (10) days of the Holy month of Ramadhan in which the Night of Power (Lailatul-Qadr) falls but we do not know the actual date among the ten days. In order not to miss the Blessed Night, we should endeavor to increase our Faith by waking up in the middle of the night to observe our Nawafil and read the Glorious Quran.

Before I will go to what the Blessed Night is all about, I will first talk on I'tikaf which means seclusion.

What is I'tikaf?

It means literally to stay in a place or seclusion.

Technically, it is staying in a mosque for a certain number of days (or hours during any part of the year), especially the last ten days of the month of Ramadhan. The idea behind I'TIKAF (SECLUSION) is to exhirt the Muslims to devote themselves exclusively to prayer and devotion at least for a few days during the year in order to develop deep God-consciousness, because it is this consciousness which is the fountain head of a Muslim's thought and deed.

I'tikaf is, in fact, the next stage of fasting in spiritual development and purification of soul. During the days of I'tikaf, The Mu'takif (the person observing I'tikaf) dissociates himself from all worldly affairs and spends his time in prayer and supplication.

Abu Hasan Ali Nadawi, commenting on I'tikaf says "I'tikaf is the completion of the benefits of fasting. If a Muslim has remained denied of inner peace and tranquility and has not been able to concentrate on prayer and supplication during the earlier part of Ramadhan, he can make ammends for it through I'tikaf.

The Holy Prophet (saw) always observed I'tikaf and the Muslims, on the whole, adhered to. It has become a regular feature of the month of Ramadhan and a confirmed practice with the devout and the faithful.Aisha (Allah be pleased with her) relates that "The Prophet (saw) used to practice I'tikaf in the last ten days of Ramadhan till he died.

On the other hand, this does not mean that I'tikaf is obligatory. It is, according to all schools of Islam, a stressed Sunnah.

Pillars

The Pillars of I'tikaf are:

1. Making the intention of secluding and retiring into the Mosque for devotion.

2. Observing this form of worship-I'tikaf-in a mosque Not in any other place.

Conditions

The I'tikaf may be valid under these conditions:

The Mu'takif must be a Muslim, pure, mumayiz (has the power of discrimination) and if a woman, free from menses and the bleeding of confinement.

General Principles

1. The Mu'takif is advised to spend time in reading the the HOLY QURAN, remebering Allah, offering optional prayers, learning and all other similar good deeds.

2. The Mu'takif is not allowed to enter the house except for some of his needs such as answering the call of nature, purification and fetching food.

3. He is allowed to eat and drink and sleep in the mosque.

4. He has to go to another mosque to offer the Jummuah (Friday) prayer if it is not observed in the mosque which he stays in.

5. Sexual intercourse and its rousers spoil I'tikaf.

6. Losing any of the conditions or pillars discussed above makes I'tikaf useless and unsatisfactory.

May Allah accept our Ibaadah (Amin)

FELLOW MUSLIM BROTHERS,

LET ME START BY ASKING GOD TO BLESS THIS RAMADAN AND BRING REPENTANCE TO THE HEART OF THE ISLAMIC FANATICS THAT SEES ALCOHOL AS ONLY SIN AND THEN CONSIDER POLYGAMY OR ELSE FORNICATION AS SELF DECISION ACORDING TO ISLAMIC TEACHINGS.

FIRST LET ME DISCRIBE MYSELF AS AN INTERNATIONAL BOY I'M STILL IN MY 20s. I TRAVELLED ABROAD WHEN I WAS 17YRS AND SINCE THEN I HAVE LIVED MY TEEN AGE ABROAD AND DO COME HOME WITH DIFFERENT GOODIES. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL DATING WITH PEOPLE OF ALL TRIBES AND STILL HOOKED WITH FOREIGN GIRLS.

FIRST I MET A CONGO GIRL IN ABIDJAN AND WE DATED FOR 6 MONTHS BEFORE SHE TRAVELLED AND AFTER HER I GOT MANY OTHER RELATION WITH LEBANON GIRL, MOROCO, TUNISIA AND BURKINAFASO AND IVORY COAST GIRLS.
I'VE HAD FEW MONTHS WITH SENEGAL GIRL, REUNION, SAIN LOUIS, MARTINIQUE GIRLS AND MALI NOT FORGETING OUMOU SANGARE MY GIRL FOR GUINEA CONAKRY.
I AM A CHRISTIAN AND I HAVE HAD RELATION WITH ONLY FEW CHRISTIAN GIRLS AS FROM MY 19YRS SOME LOVELY DATING WITH IJAW GIRLS, TIV GIRLS IN BENUE AND TARABA STATE WHEN I WENT FOR HOLIDAY TO MY SISTER THAT LIVES IN BENUE STATE. MY GIRL FROM CONGO IS ALSO A CHRISTIAN. OTHER GIRLS ARE MUSLIMS AND THEY LOVED ME SO MUCH THAT THEY CRY FOR MARRIAGE. I'M A DECENT AND COOL BOY. I LOVE LIFE AND CHRISTIANITY.
FINALLY I MET A YORUBA GIRL WHOS FAMILY IS FROM BENIN REPUBLIC AND HER MOTHER IS FROM OYO STATE NIGERIA. FINALLY LET ME SAY THE BOTH FAMILIES OF HER FATHER AND MOTHER BASED AND NATIONALIZED IN TOGO. THE FAMILY IS A PROMINENT ISLAMIC PEOPLE AND THEY ALL TRAVEL TO MECCA FOR PILGRIMAGE EVERY YEAR. HER MOTHER IS ALHJIA AND WILL BE TRAVELLING AGAIN THIS SEASON. I FALL IN LOVE WITH THE BLACK QUEEN IN A COMMUNICATION OFFICE WHERE SHE WORKS FOR UNESCO. SHE COMPLETELY STOPPED ME FROM KEEPING OTHER RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER FOREIGN GIRLS AND WE HAVE TRAVELLED TO NIGERIA TWICE.

FINALLY SHE GOT PREGNANT AND GAVE WONDERFUL BIRTH TO MY BOY WHO'S NOW 3 YEARS. DURING WHEN SHE WAS PREGNANT AND I DECIDED THAT I WILL TAKE HER TO MY PARENTS AT HOME. THE ISLAMIC FANATICS SAID THAT THE IGBOS EATS HUMAN FLESH THAT THEY WILL NOT ALLOW HER TO GO WITH ME. THE PREGNANT WAS A BATTLE OF RELIGIOUS FAITH AND I WON IT WITH MY SOFT LOVE ON THEIR DAUGHTER HEART THAT NEVER CEASE TO LOVE ME. LAST YEAR I TOOK SOME KOLA NUTS AND SOME CASH TO HER FAMILY TO DEMAND FOR HER HANDS IN MARRIAGE BUT THEY SURPRISINGLY REFUSED THE KOLA THAT I SHOULD BECOME A MUSLIM BEFORE THEY GIVE OUT MY QUEEN. THEY NEVER KNEW THAT ALHJIA MY BIG MUM ILWAY LOVES ME SO MUCH AND ALWAYS WANT ME FOR HER DAUGHTER. I LOVE MY MOTHER INLAW FOR SHE NEVER LET HER FEELINGS TO BE NOTICED BY THOSE IMAMS AND ALL THE FAMILY ALHAJIS IN EUROPE AND SAUDI ARABIA.
SHE DO SPEAK TO ME IN SECRET THAT MY QUEEN WILL BE FOR ME FOR EVER. THE GRAND FATHER, A DECENT YORUBA MAN WHO LIVES HIS LIFE IN TOGO LOVES IGBO PEOPLE SO MUCH THAT HE IS INVITING ME TO COME AROUND TOGO FOR A MEETING. HE TOLD MY QUEEN SECRETLY THAT SHE SHOULD CARRY ANOTHER PREGNANCY FOR ME THAT WILL SHOW OTHER HARD LINE ISLAMIC FANATICS TO SURRENDER TO THE LOVE OF THEIR DAUGHTER TO ME.

AFTER ALL SAID AND DONE MY QUEEN IS 5 MONTHS PREGNANT NOW AND I'M EXPECTING A NEW BABY SOME TIME XMAS OR JANUARY 2008. I THANK JESUS FOR MAKING ME WON THE LOVE OF MY LIFE AND IT MAKES ME REMEMBER WHAT JESUS CHRIST THOUGHT US TO LOVE OUR ENEMY. MY FIRST BOY IS A CHRISTIAN AND THE COMING ONE WILL BE A CHRISTIAN TOO. PRAISE GOD THAT HIS LOVE ENDURES FOREVER. JESUS IS LORD AND HIS WAYS ARE PERFECT!!!!!!

MY QUEEN IS DREAMING OF A CHRISTIAN MARRIAGE THAT ALL THE ALHAJIS WILL BE INVITED TO WITNESS A HOLYGHOST UNION WITH THEIR DAUGHTER.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND HIS WONDERFUL PEOPLE. LET US LOVE ONE ANOTHER FOR THE GREATEST IS LOVE.
NO ONE SHALL ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD IF YOU DON'T LOVE YOUR FELLOW MAN THAT YOU SEE. HOW CAN YOU LOVE GOD THAT YOU DO NOT SEE AND KILL CHRISTIAN BECAUSE YOU WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN. IS A BULLSHIT ARAB ISREALI PROBLEMS THAT UNFORTUNATELY BEFALL US BY ISLAMIC JIHADS THAT CAPTURED OUR LAND. IS BELIEVABLE THAT GOD IS ONE AND MAN IS DEVIDED.
I ADVISE YOU TO LOVE SO THAT GOD WILL LOVE YOU TOO.
ABUNNA.
What a shame on this individual huh

Some do post ignorantly without thinking and not having a second look at topic.

@Pataki

I will be back soon to deal with some of that nonsense talk of yours about Islam, hope you dey fast correct correct, because you are going to have to break it when I resume with you soonest. Mukina no dey fast oh

Peace out and Enjoy.

But remember real enjoyment is in Christ JESUS! I am a living testimony to that fact!.
My very good friend (organogram man) cheesy

I will be expecting you to come and deal with me jare grin. Me break my fast, for where, no shaking with regards to my fasting.

You name will be among those that will be going for this year's Hajj.

Yes o, real enjoyment is in Isah (pbuh) as an obedient servant of Allah who never refused worshipping his creator. He (Jesus) a dependent soul asks favour from an independent soul (God) which was granted.

So no shaking in Jesus jare, we are for him, abi no be so??

@davidylan

Self righteous rituals wont take you anywhere. People who understand the spiritual meaning of a fast don't go around carrying placards and announcing their fast. Reminds me of something Jesus Christ said about the "fasting" pharisees.

Enjoy your night of binge eating also known as "fasting".
You don change your id again? grin

Yes, those who understand the spiritual meaning of a fast dont go about announcing their fasts but there are instances where you will have to made it known in order to safeguard your fast.

With regards to what my Jesus said, we also have same in our religion in which you shouldnt let others know that you are fasting by carrying placards but there are instances which may force you to tell someone that you are fasting.

No shaking, I have been very busy and do not have enough time to be arguing or debating over what cannot be changed. We have been arguing over almost same issues day in day out that has not been yielding result, so I decided to be appearing once in a if I see anything pertaining to my faith and I am trying as much as I could to refrain from roundabout argument, God knows best.

I have been very busy with what I know how to do best (pls dont ask me o) that has been very profitable these days rather than wasting my time replying what needs no response.

Are you saying if I was a child molester, saying Subhaan Allaahi wa bi hamdihi 100 times will extirpate my sins? What if I repeat the incantation without actually repenting from my ways?
[/quote]My G, without going into the Quran, I will give lame man explanation with regards to your question.

If your repentance truly comes from your heart with the intention of not going back into it again, Allah will definitely forgive you. But if you repeat the incantation without actually repenting, then your repentance is not needed and will not be acepted, intention precedes action.

If you repent and recite the above and with the promise of not going back to your sins, you will definitely be forgiven.

You can answer that too through christianity perspective. A person that truly repented will surely be forgiven with the intention of not going back to the sin while someone that pretends to have repented will face the music.

In one minute you can send blessings on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) 50 times by saying Sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam (May Allaah bless him and grant him peace). In return Allaah will send blessings upon you 500 hundred times because one blessing brings ten like it

Does he need to be sent blessings?I thought he is blessed already. What's the point in inducing Muslims to send blessings?

The emphasis on banal formalities is striking.
We still send and we will continue sending. We send to Adam, Moses, Abraham, Noah and all prophets too.

Salam Alaykum Warahmatullah Wa Barkatuh

LETS PONDER

Praise be to Allaah.

Time is of the essence, it is too precious to be wasted or neglected. The wise person is the one who pays attention to his time and does not treat it as a vessel to be filled with cheap things and vain talk. Instead, he limits it to worthy efforts and righteous deeds that please Allaah and benefit other people. Every minute of a person’s life carries the potential to raise his own status and to make his people happier, little by little.

If you are keen to attain the highest position, and bring the most happiness to your people, then forget about relaxing and keep away from empty amusement.

In one minute you can do a lot of good and earn much reward. In just one minute, by giving in charity, studying, memorizing, or striving to do good deeds, you can make sure that this minute of your life is not wasted. One minute may be recorded in your book of good deeds if you know how to make the most of it and take care of it:

Strive to make the most of each minute

If you forget it, you forget the most important thing, the truth.

There follows a list of things that can be done in one minute, by the permission of Allaah:

1.

In one minute you can recite Soorat al-Faatihah 3 times, reciting rapidly and silently. Some scholars said that the reward for reading al-Faatihah is more than 600 hasanahs, so if you read it 3 times you will, by the permission of Allaah, gain more than 1800 hasanahs – all of that in one minute.

2.
In one minute you can recite Soorat al-Ikhlaas (Qul Huwa Allaahu Ahad) 20 times, reciting rapidly and silently. Reciting it once is equivalent to one-third of the Qur’aan. If you read it 20 times it is equivalent to reading the Qur’aan 7 times. If you read it 20 times in one minute each day, you will have read it 600 times in one month, and 7200 times in one year, which will be equal in reward to reading the Qur’aan 2400 times.

3.
You can read one page of the Book of Allaah in one minute.

4.
You can memorize a short aayah of the Book of Allaah in one minute.

5.
In one minute you can say Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahu’l-mulk wa lahu’l-hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer (There is no god except Allaah alone with no partner; to Him be dominion and praise, and He is Able to do all things) – 20 times. The reward for saying this is like freeing 8 slaves for the sake of Allaah from among the sons of Ismaa’eel.

6.
In one minute you can say Subhaan Allaahi wa bi hamdihi (Glory and praise be to Allaah) 100 times. Whoever says that in one day will be forgiven for his sins even if they are like the foam of the sea.

7.
In one minute you can say Subhaan Allaahi wa bi hamdihi Subhaan Allaah il-‘Azeem (Glory and praise be to Allaah, glory be to Allaah the Almighty) 50 times. These are two phrases which are light on the lips, heavy in the balance and beloved to the Most Merciful, as was narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim.

8.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When I say ‘Subhaan Allaah, wa’l-hamdu Lillah, wa laa ilaah ill-Allaah, wa Allaahu akbar (Glory be to Allaah, praise be to Allaah, there is no god except Allaah, and Allaah is Most Great)’, this is more beloved to me than all that the sun rises upon.” (Narrated by Muslim). In one minute, you can say all of these words more than 18 times. These words are the most beloved words to Allaah, the best of words, and they weigh heavily in the balance of good deeds, as was narrated in the saheeh ahaadeeth.

9.
In one minute you can say, Laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa Billaah (there is no strength and no power except with Allaah) more than 40 times. This is one of the treasures of Paradise, as was narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim. They are a means of putting up with difficulties and of aiming to achieve great things.

10.
In one minute you can say Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah approximately 50 times. This is the greatest word, for it is the word of Tawheed, the good word, the word that stands firm. If these are the last words of a person, he will enter Paradise, and there are other reports which indicate how great these words are.

11.
In one minute you can say Subhaan Allaah wa bi hamdih, ‘adada khalqihi, wa ridaa nafsihi, wazinata ‘arshihi, wa midaada kalimaatihi (Glory and praise be to Allaah, as much as the number of His creation, as much as pleases Him, as much as the weight of His Throne and as much as the ink of His words) more than 15 times. This words bring many more times the reward for other forms of tasbeeh and dhikr, as was reported in saheeh ahaadeeth from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

12.
In one minute you can seek the forgiveness of Allaah more than 100 times by saying “Astaghfir-Allaah (I seek the forgiveness of Allaah). The virtues of seeking forgiveness are no secret, for it is the means of attaining forgiveness and entering Paradise, and it is the means of being granted a good life, increasing one’s strength, warding off disasters, making things easier, bringing rain and increasing one’s wealth and children.

13.
You can say a few brief and concise words in one minute, and Allaah may bring about some good through them that you could never imagine.

14.
In one minute you can send blessings on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) 50 times by saying Sall-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam (May Allaah bless him and grant him peace). In return Allaah will send blessings upon you 500 hundred times because one blessing brings ten like it.

15.
In one minute you can motivate your heart to give thanks to Allaah, to love Him, to fear Him, to put hope in Him, to long for Him, and thus travel through the stages of ‘uboodiyyah (total enslavement to Allaah). You could do this when you are lying on your bed or walking in the street.

16.
In one minute you can read more than two pages of a useful book that is easy to understand.

17.
In one minute you can uphold the ties of kinship by calling a relative on the phone.

18.
You can raise your hands and recite any du’aa’ you wish from the books of du’aa’, in one minute.

19.
You can say salaams to and shake hands with a number of people in one minute.

20.
You can forbid an evil action in one minute.

21.
You can enjoin something good in one minute.

22.
You can offer sincere advice to a brother in one minute.

23.
You can console someone who is depressed in one minute.

24.
You can remove something harmful from the road in one minute.

25.
Making the most of one minute motivates you to make the most of other periods that would otherwise be wasted.

Al-Shaafa’i (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

When people go to sleep, I let my tears flow, and I recite a verse of the most eloquent poetry

Is it not a waste that nights go by and I do not increase in knowledge, yet this time is counted as part of my life?

Finally, the more sincere you are towards Allaah and the more aware you are of Him, the greater will be your reward and the more your hasanaat will increase.

Note that most of these actions will not cost you anything; they do not require tahaarah (purity) and they will not tire you out or take much effort. On the contrary, you can do them whilst you are walking, or in your car, or lying down, or standing, or sitting, or waiting for somebody.

These actions are also among the greatest means of attaining happiness, expanding the chest (i.e., bringing relief and joy) and removing stress and anxiety. May Allaah help us and you to do that which He loves and which pleases Him. May Allaah bless our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

As we enter Ramadan, I have a question:

I'm a non-Muslim, but I'm certainly respectful of those who hold the faith. What is the most respectful way to extend good wishes to those who celebrate Ramadan?

Thank you in advance for your help!
