some say wednesday .Salam We should be on the look out for the new moon when Shaban is 29 and if we didnt see the moon, we should count Shaban to 30 and start the next day but the painful aspect of it is that some muslims have made the habit of fixing date/time irrespective of sighting the moon or not which shouldnt be in the first place. May Allah continue to guide us and increase our Knowledge. Maa Salam @Mant Insert QuotePlease if they cannot meet up with the scheduled Nawafil, they should do the one that is convenient for them be it reciting Surah Fatiha and Surah Nas and probably observing two Rakahs or increase it if it can be done. Allah knows best. Maa Salam. |
@I-man The problem is not saying a specific thing but using a specific language. Why can't you say "peace be upon you" in Yoruba? Why must it be Arabic.Christians do not feel the need to greet each other in Aramaic or Greek or English. Why do African Muslims feel the need to spout Arabic? What you think you know of God was passed on to you by an Arab.No Arabs,no Islam.Your prayers,clothing,names,practices.e.t.c are often a product of the Arab world. My dear friend, you know that Arabic is the universal language for muslims all over the world. Now considering this scenario, if muslims are allowed to greet using different languages, how will an Arab in france greet the french speaking people when he cant speak french and vice versa? How will a portuguese greet an african in which both do not understand each other's language? How will Hausa man greet a Yoruba man and How will an Ibo guy greet a Yoruba guy in which none understands each other's language? Arabic being a universal language for all muslims make it easier for muslims to exchange pleasantries irrespective of their language, race, color, etc. The language also foster unity among muslims in the sense that we recite the same chapter, verse, recite same thing when we bow, when we prostrate etc. In addition, its not only African muslims that are learning Arabic, the Arab themselves are learning their language because if you are conversant with the Quran, you will see that some of the words used are different from the Arabic being spoken in Saudi Arabia. Thank you sir and please dont come here again oooo ![]() |
Salam Here are a few suggestions that we can look into during Ramadhan: 1. Let us make it a habit to visit the mosque as often as possible but at least once a day with our families. 2. Let us make it a habit to break fast with fellow Muslims in the mosque at least once a week. 3. Let us invite our non-Muslim friends and neighbors to join us in the breaking of our fasts. 4. Let us pool our efforts and resources to feeding the homeless. 5. Let us be extra-generous and donate our money to worthy causes. 6. Let us encourage our children to offer taraweeh prayers with us at the mosque. 7. Let us at least try to complete reading the Quran with meaning once. 8. Let us ensure that we mend our relations with everyone regardless of the mistakes on the part of others. 9. Let us spend some time in seclusion at night praying to the Almighty. 10. Let us ensure that we will not hurt anyone and control our anger in all situations 12. Let us spend more time with our families especially in breaking the fast. 13. Let us make sure that we don't miss our Fajr prayer and pray all the other prayers on time. 14. Let us donate at least one book on Islam to a local library. 15. Let us ensure that we offer Zakat ul Fitr ahead of Eid prayers so that the poor and the needy can make use of it in an appropriate manner. Let us place our trust in Allah in everything that we do. May Allah accept our ibada. Maa Salam |

Salam Shedding light on the adavantages of fasting, Islamic correspondence course mentions : through fasting, the primary benefits is that we learn self-restraint, discipline of our appetites, and flexibility of our habits. Over indulgence in eating, drinking, smoking or marital relations makes one slave of his desires and habits. Through fasting, those who are well-off learn to appreciate the afflications of the poor- hunger and thirst - and become more sympathetic towards them. When a person fasts, he feels that he is joining the whole Muslim world in a spiritual act, thus increasing his sense of community and brotherhood. Hammudah Abdalati, while explaining the spiritual meaning of Islamic fast says: "when Islam introduced this matchless institution, it planted an evergrowing tree of finite virtues and invaluable products". "It teaches man the principal of sincere love, because when he observes fasting, he does it out of deep love. And the man who loves God truly is a man who really knows what love is." "It cultivates in a man a vigilant and sound conscience, because the fasting person keeps his fast in secret as well as in public. In fasting, especially, there is no mundane authority to check man's behaviour or compel him to observe fasting". "It originates in man the real spirit of special belonging, of unity and brotherhood, of equality before God as well as the Law. It provides man with transparent Soul to trascend, a clear mind to think and a light body to move and act. All this is the never-failing result of carrying a light stomach. Medical instructions, biological rules, and intellectual experience attest this fact. Fasting teaches us trustfulness and sincerity, because when we observe fasting, we do that for Allah's sake and this is what lead us to be accustomed to righteousness which guides us to paradise. Fasting imbibes us with honesty and reliability. Only fasters can keep their limbs free from misdeeds and bridle their passions patiently, hence they become honest and reliable to carry the Islamic mission to the world. It infuses faithlessness, fidelity and new life into Muslim. It is a covenmant between the creator and His creatures to keep away all things that break fast during the fasting time such as eating, drinking, sexual affections, telling lies, slander, backbiting etc. He who observes fast accordingly to the above-presented pact, will be faithful, happy and at ease even in the next life. Fasting generates patience and endurance in the Muslim society. It is a strict sel training. It provides the Muslim with the ability of experincing the pains of deprivation, hunger, thirst and keeping from flesh. It's the practical shield which helps us not only to face difficulties of life but also to cope with them. Fasting founds steadfastness and firmness in the Muslim society. It teaches us how to build firm will and avoid swinging among the wills ofthe Devil. A believer, by dint of this Duty, stands on a solid rock of rightness and conviction. And he seeks only Allah'a acceptance. He directs his thoughts and actions as well as exerts influence on those of others. Fasting infuses courage and will power into Muslims. It's only fasters who can place themselves above their sensual appetites. Fasting teaches us self respect. When a man controls himself, he learns how to be a good servant to his creator alone. It is a leading manner of behaviour in which we refuse humiliation in all its forms except that of Allah. It urges all muslims to be generous in what concerns money, generous in giving help, Fasting is the season of charity, devotion and comfort. Lastly, fasting is an outstanding aspect of solidarity, unity and equality of the Muslim society. It emphasizes the essential equality of men thus goes a long way towards creating in them sentiments of love and brotherhood. |
Salam Quran 2 v 183 - 185 O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you, even as it was prescribed for those before you, that ye may ward off evil; fast a certain number of days; and to him who is sick among you, or on a journey, (the same) number of other days; and for those who can afford it there is a ransom; the feding of a man in need - but whose doth good of his own accord, it is better for him, and that ye fast is better for you if ye did but know. The month of Ramadhan in which was revelaed the Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs of the guidance, and the criterion (of right and wrong). And whosoever of you is present, let him fast the month, and whosoever of you is sick or on a journey, let him fast the same number of other days. Allah desireth for you ease; He desireth not hardship for you, and He desireth that you should complete the period; and that ye should magnify Allah for having guided you, and that peradvenmture ye may be thankful. Admittedly, the Holy Prphet considers Fasting and Salat as twin moded of worship in their place, importance and outcome. Twofold I learned, is the purpose of this month of fasting , social responsibility is being hammered into human consciousness as a religion postulate, the other purpose of fasting is self discipline, an aspect of individual morality strongly accentuated in all Islamic teachings. Fasting is an institution for the purification of the soul, is common to all divine religions. It was established among the Jews and Christians. On the other hand, this does not mean that the Muslim Fasting is like other fasts in the number of days, in the time or manner. All ancients and legislations were familiar with fasting as an act of repentance, of atonement, or a preparatory rite before some act of Holy eating or an initiation or mourning ceremony. In Islam, fasting is primarily an institution for spiritual discipline and self control. It has been ordanined as a religious duty for the Muslims for subduing their lust and keeping their appetites well within reasonable bounds so that man may not become their (lust and appetites) slave and lose control over himself. It goes without saying that the exercise of abstaining from things that are lawful in the ordinary course of life, cat the orer of Allah, strengtens our morality and deepens in us the consciousness of the Lord. This is what distinguishes fasting in Islam from fasting in other religions. Fasting is the first and foremost motivation of moral and spiritual training, on the other hand, and of perfect cheerful obedience to the Lord - but not for complete renunciation (self denial) on the other hand. Other distinguishing features of our Fasting are: 1. Being fixed in time 2. Being stated in method 3. Total abstinence 4. Being operative in the whole of he Muslim community. 5. Being a harmonizing means to bridge life and religion, body and soul 6. Surrounding the fasters with dignity. 6. Forgiving inadvertent errors. All the above named ponts, and others mentioned before have been beautifully designed, moulded, built up, and ordained by the will of Allah to make the last divine picture of Sawn i.e the Islamic Fast, exclusively for this nation of Islam. The bonds of Islam and the foundations of religion are three; Islam has been built on them. So he who leaves out any of them, he becomes an outlawed disbeliever. |
Salam Alaekun Sawn (Islamic fast) is the only form of Islamic Ibadah (worship) which Allah has kept its reward to Himself. The Holy Prophet (saw) says: 'every good deed of the son of Adam would be multiplied, a god deed receiving a tenfold to seven hundred fold reward. Allah, the Exalted and Majestic has said ; with the except of Fasting, for it is done for ME and I will give reward for it, for one abandoning his passion and food for My sake. (Sahih Muslim vol. 2 page 559) Fasting is a symbol of our unbounded devotion to Allah. If Salat (prayer) is the head, Sawn is the heart, just as you must not leave out the stated Salat, you must not leave Fasting in the month of Ramadhan. 'What prayers seek to do five times a day, Fasting in the month of Ramadhan DOES once a year ( Abdul A'la Mawdudi, Towards Understanding Islam, page 137). Fasting is a place of rest for the body and relaxation for the soul. It's a great step along the way of achieving our real goals of life. It's an active action, in spirit as well as form. It's one of the driving force behind our actions. Ibn Al-Qayyim says" Fasting is most efficacious in the protections of the external limbs and internal organs. It guards against disorders resulting from the accumulation of the effete matter. It expels the toxins that are injrious to helath and cures the ailments which develop in the body due to over-indulgence. It is beneficial for health and most helpful in leading a life of piety and good doing. |
@pilgrim In case you are ready to learn, read below: Quran 5v82-86 "Certainly, you will find the strongest among men in enmity to the believers (Muslims) the Jews and those who are Pagans, and you will find the nearest in love to the Believers (Muslims) those who say: "We are Christians." That is because amongst them are priests (Men devoted to learning) and monks (men who have renounced the world), and because they do not behave proudly. And when they listen to what has been sent down to the Messenger (Muhammad), you see their eyes overflowing with tears, for they recognize the truth. They say: "Our Lord! We believe; so write us down among the witnesses. And why should we not believe in Allah and in that which has come to us of the truth (Islamic Monotheism) and we wish that our Lord will admit us (in Paradise on the Day of Resurrection) along with the righteous people?" So because of what they said, Allah rewarded them Gardens under which rivers flow (in Paradise), they will abide therein forever. Such is the reward of good-doers. But those who disbelieved and denied Our signs, they shall be the dwellers of the Hell-Fire." Hope you have seen that ![]() ?Thanks |
@pilgrim The topic is a simple one - Jesus Is Alive - but as is typical of Muslims, you'd rather want to bulldoze your way in here and deflect the topic (as your brother doyenn has done). You can also prepare yourself to answer the questions that others put across to you, instead of pretending you didn't see them and decided to scoot off to exile. Nobody set you on this Forum as chief questioner to only ask questions but duck those offered you.Let me have the questions please. We are not fighting. But before you assume what you don't know about Christians, please leave them ALONE!! Since you study the Qur'an, I hope you can see what it says about Christians? Here:Did you miss something in that verse or you didnt complete it? Thanks |
@pilgrim You can't provide no verse in the Qur'an for the "bridge" over Hell fire which Hilali-Khan and others like them have constructed into Sura 19:71. Why make Allah say what he never mentioned in the first place, and then hiding under the abracadabra of those politicized "translations" pretending that people are "passing over" Hell fire?It seems you still do not understand my point and I wont beg you to do same. You are sticking to your gun just because the translations quoted didnt mention bridge. Am going through this extra mile just to point it out to you that you can not lift a verse and probably give it your own meaning just because you read some translations. Remember that, translators used different words in translating theirs just the case of KJV mentioning hell and others mentioning Hade you talked about. I have not gone much into that since thats not just the topic we are treating. Since you are staying glued to your own understanding, I posed some questions to you in which some translators used different words to interprete their bible but you havent provided explanation to that. I asked you to give me the real age of Paul which you havent done and I asked for the creature that was crying but no answer yet. You will never be able to give me answer because the translators used different words but all of them are claiming same thing, so also is the case of the Quran if you will reason with me and put away your mischief. If at all the verse says that people will "pass over" Hell fire, what do you have to say about other MUSLIM translators that render it otherwise?Pilgrim, just what I have been preaching. If you are arguing or confused just because some translators didnt say 'pass over hell', try to give me definite age of Paul and the creature crying in the sky. You will never be able to do that because if you give me a translator mentioning any figure, I will give you another translation saying something different from that and you will want to stick to that while I will tell you point blank that your translation is different from what I am having too. If you have been following my argument based on 19v71, I have been trying to let you know that picking at some translators just because they mentioned or they didnt mentioned what you wanted, will not be enough unless you back it up with explanations. In addition, I gave you different versions of the bible in which some versions said Peter went to the porch, some courtyard etc. If you provide me with some versions, i am ready to knock you out with other version, so also is the issue you have been having problem with all these while. I have sought here to quote a few MUSLIM translators of the Qur'an - NONE of them give the idea that they saw any "bridge" over Hell fire (as Hilali-Khan is making people believe that was what Allah said in the Qur'an). Now could you kindly explain why these Muslim translators did not see a "bridge" in Sura 19:71 as Hilali-Khan constructed into that verse? Why make Allah say what he never mentioned at all in that verse, mr babs?I have been trying to explain to you in the best way I can. You are condemning the verse just because Hilali mentioned it while others didnt. If that should be the case, for the purpose of clarity, please explain to me, the real age of paul, where peter was when he was asked question and the creature crying in the sky and when supplying your answer, provide the version you are lifting from please. What is the relationship between "pass over" (Hilali-Khan, Yusuf Ali, etc) and "go down to" (Hassan Qaribullah & Ahmed Darwish)? Are they saying the same thing? Why do Hilali-Khan suggest a "bridge" is constructed over Hell fire where there is none, and others actually translate it clearly that Muslims will GO DOWN to Hell?Okay, since you are not ready to understand and do away with your mischief, what is the relationship between 'hell' used in Kjv and 'hades' in other versions? Also what is the relationship between the age of paul in 1 samuel 13 v 1 New English bible says he was 50 years New international version says he was 30 amplified bible says he was 40 while in kjv version, Rsv, living bible, holy bible, new jerusalem bible etc his age when he began to reign is quite unknown. So please tell me the relationship. What is the relationship between an angel and an eagle or bird in revelation 8 v 13? Besides all this, if you care at all to be honest and not be hiding under the usual excuse of 'muslims have been giving answers' where it is clear that they have NOT (and neither have you), then I want an answer to this one as well:I have provided detailed explanation and backed same with explanation basede on versions of the bible. WILL MUSLIMS ENTER HELL or THEY WILL NOT?We will surely see as we proceed, please answer my questions please. I have explained to you. Sinners will surely enter Hell. Let me see where you will come from. Thanks |
@pilgrim Continue to play the mischief. It is when people begin to talk in the same tone about Islam, Muhammad and his allah that you begin to cry your tit-for-tat.I am used to your tongue-lashing, so no surprise at all. Are you trying to deny my post up? Babs has never been doing that but you and your folks have been crying that babs has been deriding your faith whenever issues pertaining to christianity is being mentioned. Did your God not die for your sins? Your worries have been soundly put to rest, so it's nothing new if you want to plagiarize and repost it again in this thread.Really? Can I have where it has been laid to rest please. On the other hand, every day and every week, we read of how Muslims are mercilessly killing people in the name of Islam. In some instances, many children are been brainwashed to be murderers for the cause of Islam. Women also are taking arms and training for warfare to promote Islam. And how many more cases of rampage, pillage, slaughter do we still read about in the news of what Muslims are planning and doing to innocent souls?Sister, arguing with you at times can be a waste of time but I will still try to be answering you when time permits. Those killing are not muslims, they may be bearing muslim names, pray like we do, fast etc but anybody that kills is not part of us and will never be part of us. It is even funny how you exonerated those that have killed in the name of chritianity while spreading the message but quick at taking active role in those that killed cos they bear muslim names. So, all of a sudden "the best history" is no longer existing in the Qur'an, and you have to circle round the question with that excuse? 'Best history' in the Qur'an indeed. You may supply the answers if you care. Before you zoom of like the rest, maybe you should begin to answer the question of why this one and single 'Allah' in the Qur'an was speaking as "WE", "US" and "OUR" - are those words that a single being uses for himself?Nobody is zooming off. Answers have been provided in one of the threads but I will still repost them for you to read and do ask question on your nightmare. It is a feature of literary style in Arabic that a person may refer to himself by the pronoun nahnu (we) for respect or glorification. He may also use the word ana (I), indicating one person, or the third person huwa (he). All three styles are used in the Qur’an, where Allaah addresses the Arabs in their own tongue. (Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah, 4/143). “Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, sometimes refers to Himself in the singular, by name or by use of a pronoun, and sometimes by use of the plural, as in the phrase (interpretation of the meaning): ‘Verily, We have given you a manifest victory” [al-Fath 48:1], and other similar phrases. But Allaah never refers to Himself by use of the dual, because the plural refers to the respect that He deserves, and may refer to His names and attributes, whereas the dual refers to a specific number (and nothing else), and He is far above that.” (Al-‘Aqeedah al-Tadmuriyyah by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah, p. 75). These words, innaa (“Verily We”) and nahnu (“We”), and other forms of the plural, may be used by one person speaking on behalf of a group, or they may be used by one person for purposes of respect or glorification, as is done by some monarchs when they issue statements or decrees in which they say “We have decided…” etc. [This is known in English as “The Royal We” – Translator]. In such cases, only one person is speaking but the plural is used for respect. The One Who is more deserving of respect than any other is Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted, so when He says in the Qur’an innaa (“Verily We”) and nahnu (“We”), it is for respect and glorification, not to indicate plurality of numbers. Every time Allaah uses the plural to refer to Himself, it is based on the respect and honour that He deserves, and on the great number of His names and attributes, and on the great number of His troops and angels.” (Reference: Al-‘Aqeedah al-Tadmuriyyah by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah, p. 109). And Allaah knows best Another attempt to slur the Christian faith, abi? We know you guys; but you really haven't done research yourself - so I'll just go it easy with you so that you don't disappear, especially because you're new on the Forum. You are always welcome. It is not necessary that you must go easy with him,do it anyway you want with him. Thanks |
@pilgrim I'm sorry for you as your misery is becoming so pronounced, Babs. If it makes you feel better to deceive yourself about "20 of you put together",I have noticed that most of you here cannot hold a debate without showing your lack of parental careand i dont give a damn cos I have noticed that most of you here are uncouth and as a result will deal the same way you have presented yourself. If you are trying to turn the thread into another sort of, so be it. I haven't seen you hold just one clear discourse with me and proven otherwise that you could hold your forté. Don't pass your noise for 'intelligence' - it's a sad reputation Muslims have made for themselves from that (ask doyenn as a ready example).Enough of this your noise making. I have told you times without number to create just two threads for you and I without third party and see your foolishness will be exposed. I have tried being nice to you in which case you decided to choose the opposite which babs wont waste in giving to you. Let me have the threads that I have not answered you please and I will show you threads where you have avoided my questions. You can substitute stubborn ignorance in its place - because I haven't seen any other Muslim hold intelligent discourse with me, let alone advertizing your failed adventure of "20". Please put 65 of you together and come close for some schooling.Never mind, if you are not taught how to talk to people, at least you should have picture of elders in your house or probably in your villa. How many of my questions have you answered? You turned threads into battle field whenever question is being asked. You may cry till tomorrow, the fact remains, BABS IS UNPERTURBED and nothing ever moves BABS. So when you are ready for a debate or whatever you may call it, I am pretty here for you and if you prefer the other way round, babs will surely give to you too. Yes, it is the same Horus you're celebrating after you nearly sobbed over one of his posts, abi? You're such a comic relief.Sobbed over Horus's post, never and I will never. Honestly I can see that you are a real pain in the ass. You are here not to reason but to make mockery of yourself. Did you see my replying HORUS OR KUNS? Your problem is becoming pronounced. and I dont know if Dr gbade or Barikade is around in case of emergency. ![]() Nobody bothered you about the other threads where you scooted away from and took yourself off for a prolonged exile - only to reappear here and express your nightmares over why you haven't seen me in this thread. You may cry till tomorrow. One thing I have noticed about you is that, you prefer arguing baseless and avoiding issues even when glaring questions are thrown at you. I asked question and you never provided answer and rather than doing that, you started showing stuff. Calm down, answer those questions before showing the stuff you are made of. If you dread me so much, you don't have to expose it to public reading - I don't take prisoners, and certainly not you.To hell with that . I have told you to make it known if you are confortable with you and I opening two threads, one will be for Islamic questions to be asked by you and the other will be for your belief. I have been asking you but you havent said anything to my proposal, let me know and babs will diagnose your ailment for you. Let me have threads that I have dread you, noise maker. |
another muslim propaganda site eh. No thanks. Is it possible that you can enunciate your points clearly with references from the hadith and quran without the need to reference sites that are obviously biased? I could as well send u to several pro-christian sites too. Please do send them. Are sites not supposed to add to knowledge? Why are you denying what cant be denied. If you want to deny the above link, please try to deny some missing verses in other versions but present in KJV. lol u are still at your games. YOU and not me came up with the laughably ridiculous idea that Christ was not curcified, rather than prove it you go on asking me to provide "facts and evidence". Why don't you come up with the "facts and evidence" that led you to make such a fantastic statement in the first place and please no websites! My post is in response to your post below QuoteLet me have the verses that supports his crucifiction and resurrection. what truth have u exposed? I'm waitingNo need of waiting. Do you read post at all? This is what you said and I responded with the above. the quran will support anything that disparages the Lord Jesus Christ. For His mere existence alone is an indictment on the fraud that islam is.This was my response Quote from: babs787 on Today at 04:28:08 PMHope you understood? this is even worse than the continual muslim blasphemy. Seems muslims are a confused lot, first they claim to be expecting the arival of the 12th maadi, now it is Jesus they are also expecting? When did u all suddenly start expecting Christ and in what form is He coming and who is He appearing to?Your post amuse me. You may go to chapter 3 and chapter 5 to read about Jesus. You are running out of time and I do hope you know that. You cant play games with BABS. Is Jesus a christian and did he preached christianity? Are the pictures really that of Jesus? where are your "Facts and evidences"?I asked a question. He came not only to the jews but also to the gentiles. Timothy was a gentile too.Let me have the verses please. that is the islamic lie!Is Jesus God ![]() ![]() ? |
nah, that is what muslims are desperate for everyone to believe because his very letters are a threat to the credibility of islam and all it purports to stand for.Brother dont beat about the bush, are all his letters inspired and I will tell you more about who Paul is? your penchant for mischief is legendary. I defined TWO (2) distinct forms of the biblical definition of the term "works", you clung to the first definition only to come to the conclusion that i claimed that works is useless? Did you even read down to number 2?I responded to the two forms unless you are not reading with your glasses. Go have a look at my response again. It is very easy except to a blind muslim. See it this way, to be a student you must go to class, wear uniforms and write term exams. But you must pass an entrance exam before you can be matriculated as a student at all. You can't wear a uniform and claim to be a student when you have not written your entrance exam neither can you go home and sleep, claiming to be a graduate simply because you passed the entrance exam. It is the same thing in the spiritual, salvation is your entrance exam. What qualifies you to be a student is not only to pass the exam but that you indeed attend classes and pass your exams to be promoted to the next class. Works of faith is what defines you as a christian just like exams define u as a student. No where we have it that its the first thing unless you want to give it your own meaning. The verse says 'for GOD so love the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. So where is your own meaning coming from? James 2 talks of those attributes that qualify a student to identify himself as a student of the school to which he has been admitted.Where was it mentioned. He told you that faith without work is useless as against john 3 v 16 and other verses that lay emphasis on believing alone as a means of getting salvation. James is telling you that you must not only believe with your mouth (john 3 v 16) but must work too to gain paradie. please read above.I have supplied you answer above too. what is your own translation?I will be bringing out where you might have flawed as we proceed. You are adding yours to it, the bible never gave all those stories of yours. explained above.Your explanation is flawed. there where no churches before the day of pentecost, surely those that died believing in Christ Jesus went straight to heaven. If a christian has no choice but to work in a "tolerant and peaceful" country like Saudi Arabia where bibles are banned and churches are a felony punnishable by death then God certainly understands and such an one will still go to heaven.Brother stop going in the opposite direction. Forget the issue of tolerant or intolerant society. Can a christian believer who lives in a very conducive, tolerant environment, believes in the death, resurrection of jesus but never goes to church go to Heaven? Not because he doesnt have time bnut never believes in going to church. The bible only advises that where there are certainly opportunities to attend church then it is for your own spiritual benefit that you go there.Okay are you saying that it is not compulsory to be attending church? Thanks |
and yet muslims gleefully boast about Jesus being a prophet of allah, the same muslims give themselves the name Isa (the arabic form of Jesus), and yet these same hypocrites claim to be expecting the coming of this same Jesus.Point of correction, muslims are expecting jesus as you are. you are expecting him to come like a thief in the night, raptures but we are expecting to be the sign of the hour, he will come and live like normal being and die a normal death and will let you know that he want crucified nor a God etc. We are not expecting jesus having the pictures you have been potraying but obedint servant of Allah. We are not expecting Jesus that died for your sin, killed, hanged or crucified but a servant that was miraculously saved by his creator. We are not expecting a three in one God, God in human form, God that prayed to himself, God that was afraid of death etc but a servant of God that served one God and not three and believed that there is someone above him that he must worship. etc, Is there any problem in bearing names of prophets? s imple answer no! Jesus - God with us, Immanuel - God in us.Please I want you to clarify the above for me. Are you saying Jesus' meaning is different from Immanuel? Let me give you a clue, a chapter called him Immanuel instead of Jesus and your response is saying that Jesus can never be both. Dont contradict yourself like I do say. what name did mohammed call Him? If His name wasnt Jesus during His time then how did the name Jesus find its way into islam and the quran?Clever response . Do we have the word 'Jesus' in the Greek bible because there was no letter "J" until the 15th century?lol what a piece of hogwash. You can't even prove your statements without clinging to questionable "links".I thought you requested for it but here you are singing another song.Poor you ![]() |
this again is more evidence of the hypocrisy that is islam. The title of this topic says - ultimate truth and proof of islam. But as usual since the appologists of islam don't really have any truth or proof (not to talk of ultimate truth), they try to subvert the topic by bringing up their own "shed more light on these christian verses".You and your folks are the one behaving funny and avoiding my questions. You raised question on 19 v 71 just because the verse didnt mention bridge and probably the versions didnt use same english language and I brought out some verses from different versions of your bible saying different things. Muslims have provided detailed explanation to the verse but here you are yet to provide same to my question. I am still asking you people to furnish me with answers as to which creation was crying in the wilderness and the age of paul. To be honest with you, you will never be able to do that just because the versions are not saying the same thing. Some may have been as a result of the translators, the language used etc but at the same time, we may at the end of the day arrive at the same conclusion, this is what I have been trying to bring out to you hence my giving you bible verse from different versions. Try to provide explanation to my questions as muslims have done to your nightmare. This was not about the bible but about islam. stick to the topic if truly islam is not a fraud.Sure. If you are talking about fraud, there is no religion that is as fraudulent as CHRISTIANITY. The authors may have used different language in interpreting that verse but it gives same meaning and if you still disagree, please provide explanation to my question and supply the version you are using. We are still on the same topic man |
yeah we all know Paul's letters are a nightmare to muslims. They simply expose the fragility of mohammed's lies and deciet. We all knowthat he is the founder of modern christianity and the originator of confusion. Where did the letters expose what you have been saying or you meant his letters that contradicted Jesus's teachings in order to bring religion to the gentiles? Are all his letters inspired? Here is what the book of james says - James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?Okay. There is no contradiction here at all. First let us consider the issue of faith - Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.Okay, lets proceed. When the bible talks about "works", it makes 2 clear distinctions:Please I need further clarification. Are you still saying that work is useless? 2. works of faith - this is a complement to faith and is only applicable to a believer. In lay man terms, there are attributes expected of a christian; love, kindness, willing to help, generous e.t.c. It is those works that James was talking about and not the works of the law.If you are saying that work referred to here are: love, kindness etc. Please can you shed more light on John 3 v 16 that says if you believe, you will have eternal life. The verse made us known that if you believe in Jesus, salvation is yours while James is saying that faith (believing in him alone) will not guarantee you salvation but with work. James 2: 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,Sure but what do you have to say to John 3 v 16 and other verses in relation to getting slavation through believing in jesus alone, which I will giving you as we proceed. Here is what James says in essence, it is not enough to be saved or to have faith, if you don't help your fellow brother or sister then of what value is that faith you claim to have?Pastor. Is that your own translation of that verse? Please I have always told you to be very careful when dealing with babs cos you may contradict yourself as we move on. 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?Did you see that? Your works of faith must complement your faith, without faith your works are like filthy rags.So in a nutshell, faith and work must go together but not as in john 3 v 16 and 1st john too. You can be saved anywhere. Zacheus was saved on a tree, Peter recieved salvation on a fishing boat, Paul was saved on the way to Damascus . . . But after you are saved the bible enjoins you to forget not the assembly of the saints (the church), it is a veritable avenue to build your faith and sharpen others too.I am not referring to earthly salvation but heavenly one. Can a christian believer gain paradise without going to church. Can one believe claim to be a christian believer without having anything to do with church. Can one that believes in jesus be doing his praising and worshipping at home without having anything to do with the church? Thanks |
Matthew 8:29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? You will never stop amusing me. Was he called Jesus during his time. Is there anything like Jesus in aramaic or greek language? is there any relationship between your first and middle name?Brother, am asking you again, Does Jesus has same meaning as Immanuel? this is so daft and desperate it does not even qualify as a question.Really? Please what name was he called during his time as it is in the greek bible? Quote from: babs787 on Today at 04:28:08 PM Is the meaning of Jesus same as Immanuel? is the meaning of your first name the same as that of your middle name?Brother, are you saying the name Jesus is different from Immanuel, please I need a definite answer. What have we to do with the greek bible? Of what relevance are these desperate "clutching at straws" lame attempts at asking questions with the sole purpose of looking for a loophole?I am well aware of your trademark and it wont work with me. Was he known as Jesus during his time and does the greek bible contain the word 'Jesus'? links from islamic websites are not credible. What else do we expect them to say? that the bible we have today is the genuine one?RFLMAO . Is that all you have to say to those links? You requested for them and I gave same to you. I know that you will never be able to defend that. Is there any other apologists that can bail you out? |
lol what a complete piece of hogwash.Really? Really? Not even the books of Isaiah, mathew, mark, luke, John, acts, romans just to mention but a few?You may have a look at this link http://www.why-christians-convert-to-islam.com/exhibitC.htm We will continue with the rest as we proceed. which verses or books support this blasphemy? where and when did God say so or is this not one more of the lies and propaganda spread in the mosque? You are very funny. Please give me facts and evidence on the crucifiction and resurrectiion of Jesus. We will know if he was tied to a stake, crucified, crucifixed etc. the quran will support anything that disparages the Lord Jesus Christ. For His mere existence alone is an indictment on the fraud that islam is.Here you are again. You will always come up with your trademark claiming that muslims are deriding Jesus anytime truth is being exposed about the crucifixion and resurrection. hallelujah! we all know this.Yes brother. ![]() even muslims are now "expecting" Jesus Christ? wonders shall never end.Muslim are not just expecting him, they know that his coming will be the sign of the hour. But he will not come as you have been preaching and not even with those pictures you have been portraying. You may go to this link to know more about his coming. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-41732.0.html There is something called resurrection dear. That neither mohammed nor allah could do this does not delegitimize it.Did he die let alone resurrecting? yes, He's in heaven preparing a place for us.How many of you? Are you a jew? Jesus did not disdain to serve God. He will be asked on that day if he had told you to take him and his mother as gods beside HIM. |
Just ask those people who confuse Jesus with God this. If Jesus is God then who was he (Jesus) praying too?I have been asking them but no response yet. These are the verses you requested answers for: Luke 5:16 "And he (Jesus) withdrew himself into the wilderness and prayed to his God." Matthew 26:39 "And going a little way forward, he (Jesus) fell upon his face, praying and saying 'My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me. Yet, not as I will, but as you will.' " Here in this verse we see two things: (1) Jesus bowed down on his face and prayed in submission to his GOD in obedience. (2) Jesus was begging his GOD to let the cup pass away from him. Jesus did not have the power to will it for himself and make the cup pass away from Jesus. GOD had to do it for Jesus !. How can Jesus be the Creator of this Universe?!!! Matthew 26:42 "Again, for the second time, he (Jesus) went off and prayed, saying: 'My Father, if it is not possible for this to pass away except I drink it, let your will take place.'" Jesus begged his GOD to will what Jesus wanted to happen. Jesus couldn't will it by himself. Matthew 26:44 "So leaving them, he (Jesus) went off and prayed for the third time, saying once more the same word." Here we see that Jesus for the third time begged his GOD to will what Jesus wished for in Matthew 26:39 above. How can Jesus be the Creator of this Universe if he (1) begs, and (2) lacks power?! The father is God, the son is Gos, Holy Spirit is God yet they are not equal. The sin againt son of man has forgiveness but that of holy has no forgiveness yet they are same. @vijustice Let me know if you are ready for me. The questions will be based on verses from your bible. |
@pth Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.Brother, dont disgrace me please. Was he known as Jesus during his time? Is there any relationship between Jesus and Immanuel? how do you expect me to know about mohammed's names? Where in your quran is mohammed expressely prophesied and mentioned by name?Am asking about Jesus' real name. Was he ever called or known as Jesus during his time? Is the meaning of Jesus same as Immanuel? What is his name in the greek bible and what is his language? What evidence have you provided? Where are the links to your papyri? Please kindly provide them asap. Its all part of the muslim game of hide and seek. One day they claim the bible is lost, tomorrow they tell u they have already provided evidence. Maybe you did in your sleep. So you have been sleeping all these while. I know that you will pretend that I didnt supply links to that. So here are the links again: http://www.why-christians-convert-to-islam.com/ExhibitE.htm http://www.why-christians-convert-to-islam.com/exhibitDarius.htm Scriptureshttp://www.maplenet.net/~trowbridge/contents.htm Also read about the New Testament canons through the ages http://www.maplenet.net/~trowbridge/canons.htm Go through this link for the new testament canons through the ages http://www.why-christians-convert-to-islam.com/EXHIBITAv2.htm When you are through with those above, get in touch, there are still more to supply. PTH hmmm i understand where you are coming from. Your insistence on seeing christianity from an islamic viewpoint of gaining acceptance by works is definitely behind these your questions. No way brother, you have not grabbed where I am coming from. ![]() Unlike in islam, christians are not saved by the works of their hands. There are no man made traditions of what we must do to earn eternal life, for;Never mind brother, I am quite familiar with Paul's letters. Since you said that christians are not saved by work, how are they saved? Dont forget the book of james that is contradicting your post here. In addition, is it compulsory for christians to go to church before they will be saved? The choice is yours.Sure brother. |
@somze Insert QuoteYou decided to speak for her. Its ok by me, I can still accomodate 20 of you put together. You may go to the threads and see if babs has answered or not. In the absence of pilgrim, you may provide solution to the questions above. Thanks |
@pilgrim Your drama will not work, and you're only making a good laugh of yourself.Really? We shall see as we proceed. You're such a joker - and you can add that up as another usual lie of Muslims that you're displaying here. You already know that it was NOT "only" M. M. Ghali I quoted, so why the childish denial? And come to Hilali (Hilali-Khan), I asked a pointed question as to where they got the "bridge" from that Allah never mentioned in the Qur'an - and you swerved like the typical dodger you are to play your usual games. WHERE did Hilali get the "bridge" in the Qur'an to make Allah say what is not in the Qur'an? Please give me that verse directly from the Qur'an (ANY TRANSLATION or VERSION or the Qur'an) - and I would agree with what you have severally tried to whip up here as "explanation". Where you get that deception here to be referring to Hilali is what you have to sort out. No games please, you hear?Sister, am not surprised at your confusion just because the verse didnt mention any bridge. If the Quran didnt mention bridge, please what are they passing over? I'm not surprised that you'd resort to such childish games - maybe that's what your errand boys recommended this time for you. They asked you to make jokes about "Jesus" and then come back in the same Muslim hypocrisy that 'Muslims love Jesus'. Good that you're displaying your Muslim hypocrisy and hope your 'salam brother' will see you for what you are.I know that you will cry at the mention of Jesus. Is that not written in your bible that he went to Hell? You have been the one crying that muslims have been deriding Jesus at mention of his name even while you yourself is very aware that the verse is being lifted from the bible. If someone goes into the bible to bring a verse for you, it is then you will say that muslims are deriding your faith. Like I keep saying, babs is ever ready to provide evidence for whatever you may be calling 'deriding JESUS' from your bible. In anycase, Jesus went to 'Hades' - the place of the departed. He did not go to 'the lake of fire' where the wicked shall be cast, and which is described in the Bible as the place prepared for the Devil and his angels (Matt. 25:41).Please what is your understanding of Hell? I will be giving you verses to show that babs has not been deriding Jesus but giving you what is in your bible. Let me shed more light on what you are confused about. According to the book of the acts of the Apostles Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left (kataleipo) in hell (hades), neither his flesh did see corruption. (KJV translation) The word kataleipo means, 1) to leave behind a) to depart from, leave 1) to be left b) to bid (one) to remain c) to forsake, leave to one's self a person or thing by ceasing to care for it, to abandon, leave in the lurch 1) to be abandoned, forsaken d) to cause to be left over, to reserve, to leave remaining e) like our "leave behind", it is used of one who on being called away cannot take another with him 1) especially of the dying (to leave behind) f) like our "leave", leave alone, disregard 1) of those who sail past a place without stopping Source: http://www.blueletterbible.org/tmp_dir/words/2/1147370736-9394.html The word hades means, 1) name Hades or Pluto, the god of the lower regions 2) Orcus, the nether world, the realm of the dead 3) later use of this word: the grave, death, hell In Biblical Greek it is associated with Orcus, the infernal regions, a dark and dismal place in the very depths of the earth, the common receptacle of disembodied spirits. Usually Hades is just the abode of the wicked, Lu. 16:23, Rev. 20:13,14; a very uncomfortable place. Source: http://www.blueletterbible.org/tmp_dir/words/8/1147369484-2683.html Bible commentator Matthew Henry says, Thou wilt not leave my soul in hell’’ (in hades, in the invisible state, so hades properly signifies); "but, though thou suffer it for a time to remove thither, and to remain there, yet thou wilt remand it; thou wilt not leave it there, as thou dost the souls of other men.’’ (Matthew Henry Complete Commentary on the Whole Bible, Source) Please when you are through, you provide me the reason why Jesus had to go to Hell and not heaven straight? [quote]It's not such a difficult thing to respond if you wanted me to; afterall, who does not know that today Muslims hold the number 1 position and reputation for world terrorism? The reason why you don't read my rejoinder in that thread is that it was locked - unless you're blind as a bat to deliberately refuse to see it so. Making excuses again and again after I pointed it out in my previous rejoinder simply shows the hypocrisy in your motive - which is forgiveable, because that is what Muslims do.
Please respond. It is your problem not mine. You are free to comment on the atrocities here if the thread is locked. Lol. . . mr babs, how does your question say the same thing as Sura 19:71? I simply want to know how the verses you quoted from the Bible is saying the same thing as Sura 19:71 does. It's simply because you know your nightmares hinge on that verse from the Qur'an, that's why you continued to duck under the excuses you've been drumming up all along and coming here to praise runaway Tiptronic. You will never know and I will make you understand despite the fact that you will have nothing to offer as muslims have been doing. The reason for my question is that, you have been stiff-necked on the issue of 19v71 and I decided to let you reason from your bible cos your roundabout argument is not helping matters and will never help you. Now, you based your argument on the fact that the no bridge was mentioned and I provided you some different versions of the bible saying different things. Since you are not ready to think, I posed those questions to you to give me the versions that is saying the truth and nothing more. So please answer my question again. I asked you this in order to know the version that is correct and reliable. There's no crime in praising runaways - it's not the first time Muslims have done so. What I simply ask of Muslims is not so difficult. As soon as they show the verse in the Qur'an for the "bridge" over Hell fire that Allah promised, then I'll gladly show you the answers to your nightmares. Oya, take that message again to your errand boys so that they know that the latest recommendation they offered you didn't work as well.Muslims have provided answers but you are not ready to admit that fact. So please let me have answers to my questions and please when giving the answers, let me know the versions you are quoting from, then I will give you other versions that are saying different things. Mr babs787, is it a hard thing to settle this simple question? Show me where in the Qur'an Allah promised a "bridge" over Hell fire, and I'll be okay with that. QED. If Allah did NOT say so at all in any verse (abrogated or otherwise) in the Qur'an, why are you trying to make him say what he did not say? Besides, from where in the Qur'an did your favorite translators find the "bridge" to insert in their own Qur'an that Allah mentioned nothing at all in his own Qur'an? Is that a hard thing to do and settle the small question?Okay please if the Quran didnt mention any bridge, what are they passing over. My questions are still there for you to answer, you will still give me the creature that was crying and also the real age of saul and you will also tell the version you are lifting your answers from. I really don't mind whatever scholars you can consult for your "explanation" or deception. But let your scholars simply bring out the verse in the Qur'an where Allah mentioned the "BRIDGE" over Hell fire - and that is the one simple thing that will clear your pretended scholarship on the Forum. Abi, is that too DIFFICULT for you and your scholars to show?No need doing that since you have already made up your mind and never ready to accept explanation. Here you are, I posed some questions to you saying different things from different versions of your bible but rather than answer the questions, you came up with your usual strategy of avoiding questions. Muslims have answered you, so please provide answers for me too. I came up with those questions just because you have been making fuss of yourself just because a bridge wasnt mention. Applying that to the bible too, one will notice that the versions of the bible arent saying same thing and if you think they are, please provide answers to my qeuestions and where you are lifting same from. I beg una again: please give me the verse - any verse in the entire 114 chapters of the Qur'an - where Allah spoke of a BRIDGE over Hell fire. That is all, and that is simple.Since you are not ready and up to mischief, please provide answers to my questions and the versions you are lifting from and when you are through, I will provide you other versions going against your own version. Cheers. Thanks |
@vicjustice First of all: Do you believe in the Bible? If you do, this is what it says:Thumbs up for the post. Since you have joined the train of those saying that JESUS IS GOD, please are you prepared for my questions on the deity of Jesus? |
Insert QuoteBe prepared for many verses in the bible supporting his : crucifixion, cruci-fiction, crurifragium, tying to a stake etc. I hold on for answers from the other side. Cheers. |
Insert Quote Good suggestion brother. From there, we will shed light on the author of each chapter of the bible to known if the names of the chapters are really of those that wrote same. I thought Pilgrim has been appearing in all threads but she hasn't come up with explanation to my questions above or probably she is not aware of this thread . Cheers. |
@pilgrim I don't think anyone is getting confused over this. Praying and worshipping are not the same. We've already made the point clear in another thread that prayer is not only when one is seeking for something from God - it goes way beyond that to telling Him everything, including our joys, concerns and having fellowship in His Word.Common, you should be bold enough to hit the nail on the head. @PTH what was the point of this thread? to tell us that "worshipping" is equal to knocking my head on the ground 5 times a day?Good, we do pray five times daily abi. Now please tell me, how do christians do 1. 'God's will' 2. What do you understand by 'God's will'? 3. which of God's will have you been observing' as said by Jesus? Thanks |
As-salaam alaykum wa rahmatullah my esteemed brothers and sisters.May Allah continue to guide and protect you. Maa Salam. |
