Education › Re: Advice: Should I Go For Medicine Or For A Masters? by Badgers14: 8:04pm On Jan 05, 2019*. Modified: 10:24pm On Jan 05, 2019 |
Aremson14: Good day everyone. I am a final yr biochemistry student. And i have been wondering what to do after school. Ive always dreamt of studying medicine but the situation here in Nigeria has discouraged me(due to how difficult it is to get the admission even after scoring good enough scores in Jamb and p.utme).
I'm speculating if i should take a direct entry form or i shld just head for my masters as soon as im done. Im quite young so i think if i go for my masters and phd as soon as im done i shall be a phd holder by 26 provided everything goes as planned. But then there is this medicine i also love.
Your advice would be appreciated especially those that have been in this situation before and have already passed through this, any regrets. Follow your passion and go for Medicine. There is nothing like doing what you love doing.. something that you have the passion for. Again, to avoid regrets. Follow your dream, your passion. Good luck. |

rinzaugustine: This kind of case should have been handled by a well funded team of SANS because if he looses at high court and appeal court or supreme court, the judgement will become a precedent meaning he may be indirectly clearing the way for buhari in the judiciary Buhari doesn't have WAEC certificate which is very clear and no SAN will successfully defend that since the constitution is very clear in that regard. Mostly likely, the judge and Buharis lawyers will delay delay delay, the judge will deny any motion for accelerated hearings. After elections, who cares |

Travel › Re: What Nationality Is Given To A Baby Born On A Plane? by Badgers14: 3:20pm On Oct 28, 2018 |
ImperialYoruba: I agree with the writer, makes sense. Particularly on the case of first landing of the plane after child's birth.
Let's say mother leaves Lagos for US and plane has stop over in London. Her destination is US, not London.
If she gives birth on the Lagos-London leg. She and her baby will be taken off plane and put on emergency vehicle for transportation to hospital. She will not complete her trip to US on that plane. At the hospital, by UK law, the baby's birth must be registered right away. Because the registration is done under the seal of Her Majesty Queen of England, the child's birth records for the rest of its life takes reference in UK. The baby should be able to take UK citizenship.
The first treatment center and jurisdiction that attends to the new born's health and registration of birth is reference for citizenship.
I read something similar to this a while back. A woman lives very close the border between two states. She lives on farm in New York but she will drive two miles across border to Masachusets to buy items for her household. She went into labour in store. They called ambulance and she ended in hospital in that state and gave birth. They said because of this the child is citizen of Masachusets. Oyinbo people sometimes have one or two screws loose in their head. I cant understand how New York and Masachusets are both in America but they have divided citizenship. So the child now carries two citizenships, that of Masachusets and the one for America. I didnt argue it because I needed the screws in my head to stay intact. Which one is the child carrying two citizenship, citizen of Massachusetts and Citizen of America People born in Massachusetts are American Citizen. Massachusetts is a state in U.S and U.S is a country. What I thought you were saying or intended to say was like how in Nigeria people born in Delta but there parents are from Imo state. When you ask them where they are from they say Imo. Unlike in the U.S, someone living in Newyork and had her baby in Indiana, the baby would say he/she is from Indiana even though that the parent's place of birth could be New York. |

drakeli: One last thing I’m going to tell you is this. The Op of this tread got to Mexico and he was able to secure US visa right in Mexico. Today he is able to crisscross the US with no problem from Mexico. He has now the opportunity to become US legal recident if he chooses to do so.
In the case of that person you made an example out of, it is either you are telling a misleading lie to drive home your point or the person in question is not opening up to you in details on how he made his way into the US. But trust me, if he is truly a US citizen today, definitely he did not cross the boarder on foot. However, if he did get smuggled through the boarder, he must have realized his fate by now and he will never tell you guys back home in Nigeria that he is stucked with no legalization. On the other hand , he might be able to get a visa while in Mexico just like the Op. That will make his journey smoother. We that are hear, most of us love telling lies and showing lies about ourselves to people back home and even on Facebook. That’s what I don’t do as a person.
Guy don’t let anyone deceive you about himself. Don’t believe him until he tells you the truth about how he was able to secure a visa in Mexico to cross. I know a lot of South Americana here in different capacities. How funny non of them ever told me that some “smart” lawyer does that or has helped anyone of them even when I see Mexicans with US citizen wives and kids being deported everyday leaving their families behind. I wish they could know where this “smart” lawyer resides. That would really be helpful. You didn't have to write this long episode and I did not bother to read them all. Also, dont assume you are the only one living in the U.S and everyone else is living in a village in timbuktu. I live in the U.S and have been for more than a decade. Again, yes there is a "difficult " path way for them and I have seen people that have gone through it successfully. Worse come to worse, if they committed a felony prior to trying to legalize themselves, if the state Governor pardons them, they are back on track. Try and schedule an appointment with an immigration lawyer near you, some of them have free 1 hr appointment . They will answer more of your questions. Something to keep in mind though, people are not always honest about their immigration movements, why they are stuck in the process or why they didn't do what you think they should have done. Cheers!! |

drakeli: How? Since you know what you’re talking about. Marrying US citizen? That's when consulting a "smart" immigration lawyer comes into place. Immigration is not my speciality but I know individuals that went through that path and are now waving their U.S passport. |
Travel › Re: Nigerian Living In Mexico. Ask Me Any Question About Life Here by Badgers14: 6:42pm On Oct 12, 2018 |
drakeli: Pathway for which category of people? I guess you are not talking about people that got themselves smuggled through the boarder? If those are the people you are referring to, then I bet you have no knowledge of what you’re talking about. Yes, those categories. I know what I am talking about. Although very diffcult but there is a pathway for them. |
Travel › Re: Nigerian Living In Mexico. Ask Me Any Question About Life Here by Badgers14: 2:46pm On Oct 12, 2018 |
drakeli: Inadmissibility for unlawful presence is referring to visa overstay. Not people that cross in over the fence without a visa. Your unlawful presence starts the day your visa expires. Hence you become inadmissible until a lawyer helps you out through one of several pathways to legalization. So this is absolutely referring to visa overstay and not people that cross in on foot from Mexico through Arizona desert or rivers or canal or jungle or whatever. So take it or leave it. As at today, no pathway to forgiveness for unlawful boarder crossing. There are more than 11million Mexicans and South Americans in the US. They wish they could be forgiven after many decades. Well...maybe one day. Who knows. There is a pathway, although it is difficult and not guaranteed that USCIS will grant all the waivers but someone could at least try. |
Travel › Re: Nigerian Living In Mexico. Ask Me Any Question About Life Here by Badgers14: 5:53am On Oct 12, 2018 |
drakeli: Your sins are forgiven only if you enter through their normal Port of Entry with a visa. But if you walk in or get smuggled in through the boarder fence, sorry na your case. No amount of US citizen wives or sharp immigration lawyers can help you. Many Mexicans with US citizen wives get deported everyday and leave their US citizen children behind. It’s up to the wife if she would like to relocate with her husband or not. I think you did not ask the lawyer about that aspect why millions of Mexicans are illegal . If not millions of South Americans would have become legal today after many of them have spent decades in the US and still illegal. Maybe his reference to "sharp immigration lawyer" was a lawyer that would file for a waiver of inadmissiblity for unlawful presence. If USCIS grants the waiver. Then "all sins are forgiven" |

Rityonyi: Too much love...
he just sued someone for fake news on his relationship with his girlfriend what happens when he is legally married to her? Davido sued who? Do you have the case number Davido is a celebrity and filing this suit would go against him. Cable news will put him in a witness box and question him about his sexual activities. Defense lawyer know how to pay dirty Don't forget, court records are public records so the court transcripts will be accessed by anyone. |

Could someone post the suit number when Davido eventually files his lawsuit. Lawsuit my foot, deny the claim or confirm it. Do you think filing a lawsuit is where it ends? Wait till they throw you in the box and ask about your sexual life. Recall, court record is public unless the judge placed a gag order. That's Davido to lose. |

Racoon: What utter cluelessness! Violating the sovereignity of a country by coming to collect tax therein? Are Nigerians residing off-shore not paying taxes already to their host countries Will this misplace policy applies to foreign multi-conglomerate companies doing business in Nigeria with branches/headquarters oversea e.g.MTN, Shopright, UAC etc?
See how the president is disgracing Nigeria still by exporting his cluelessness internationally This will definitively lead to diplomatic row with any country concerned.Any wonder he have F9 in economics and maths? Sir/Madam. You might be misunderstanding the law. Although I supported the election of Buhari and I am disappointed with the way he ran the affairs of the country. The executive order was not violating any country's sovereignty. Countries can legally require their citizens to pay offshore taxes. U.S citizens for example are required to declare and pay taxes for all foreign assets. Actually U.S citizens are required to pay taxes even if they don't live in the U.S. The only thing though is that the best route would have been for Congress to pass a law and not an executive order. |

Olopa: You should have went to court to get an affidavit.

Number two:
Olopa: Oya si engine e.
Olopa: This engine number is different.
My Driver: Oga, this na Micra we go through engines.
Olopa: I know, so you need affidavit for that too.
Gbam. Just for clarification. Is there any legal requirement to get an affidavit when one changes the color of their car or when they change engine? I would think the police officers should have relied on the VIN number. |
