He combines his acquired black power, his army of thugs, cultists and ill-gotten money to sit on Rivers people just like the HEAD SITS ON THE BODY of the human being. He is proud, disrespectful, arrogant and deadly.

A Fulani group, Coalition of Fulbe Professionals in Africa (COFPIA), has distanced itself from a statement authored by one Alhasan Salah, National Secretary of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, claiming to be against the candidature of former Anambra State governor and the candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, in the 2023 presidential election.

COFPIA enjoined Nigerians to disregard any statement from Miyetti Allah Kauta Hore, saying the group did not speak for Fulani ethnic group or represent the Fulani in any way.

Alhasan, who is the National Secretary of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, the most controversial Fulani group in Nigeria, had in an interview with a national paper, said the Fulani nation would not support the candidature of Obi,who is contesting the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party.

Alhasan had described Mr Peter Obi not only as a tribal bigot but also as someone who hates the North and by extension the Fulani tribe.

He said the leadership of the group has instructed every Fulani in the country not to vote for Mr Peter Obi, because açcording to him,”Obi is a tribal bigot and represents the Biafran interest which would not favour the Fulani nation in Nigeria.”

The National Secretary-General of the Fulani socio-cultural group, had noted that “as far as Miyetti Allah is concerned, Obi is out of the options of persons to be voted for in the forthcoming elections.”

“As far as we are concerned, we know those we cannot vote for. You see one that they call Obi or OBIdient, any Fulani man who votes for him must be questioned because he may not be a true son of the soil.

“Obi represents the Biafran interest. So, we know those we cannot vote for and those that cannot be president of Nigeria. He is a tribal bigot,” he said.

Alhassan claimed that when Obi was the governor of Anambra State, he “”destroyed the businesses of northerners and chased plenty Hausa and Fulani people from entering Anambra.”

But the Fulani group, operating under the umbrella of Coalition of Fulbe Professionals in Africa, picked hole in Alhasan’s claim.

The Fulbe professional group,in a statement signed by Prof. Mohammed Gidado, its National President and Hajiya Mairo Modibo,National Secretary, respectively, said while it acknowledged the group’s right to freedom of expression and opinion, it would “remind them that they don’t have the right to speak for the entire Fulani in Nigeria, especially when they have not lived up to expectations.”

In a statement to this effect, COFPIA said Fulbe people all over Nigeria “will not be binded by that politically sponsored statement of Miyetti Allah.”

“The Fulbe all over Nigeria will not be binded by that politically sponsored statement of Miyetti Allah anymore.

“The Fulani people are wise now and cannot be used as tools of extortion and religious sentiment any more. We will enlighten our people to vote for competence and capacity come 2023. We will never vote for any candidate who has nothing to offer. We have gone far beyond religious and ethnic sentiments.

“We will vote for a president that will tackle poverty, and acute hunger that have held our people hostage for so long. We will vote for a president that will fight insecurity with every commitment and unbiased mind, no matter who is in involved,” the statement read.

The group said,” Our respected tribal group, Miyette Allah, should channel their campaign to redeem the bad image they have created for Fulani people in Nigeria rather than casting aspersions on Peter Obi, who has demonstrated capacity to rescue Nigeria from the current hopelessness.”

“We wish to also make it categorically clear that we have not endorsed Peter Obi or any presidential candidate in the forth coming general elections and we are not Peter Obi’s mouthpiece, but it’s wrong for our people to continue to brand Peter Obi as a tribal bigot and that he doesn’t like the North,”the group said.

COFPIA said ” available data has shown Peter Obi as an ardent nationalist that believes in the unity of Nigeria.”

“We, therefore, call on our brothers in the Miyetti Allah Kauta Hore, to only speak for their group, rather than misleading Nigerians that they are speaking for the entire Fulani people.

“They lack the moral, spiritual, and religious rights to speak for the entire Fulani people in Nigeria, especially when they have reduced themselves to tribal bigots that has no regards for other tribes and faiths,” the group said.

Açcording to COFPIA, “Nigerians have taken position in the forth coming Election to vote for the best man for the job and cannot be distracted by any selfish agenda and blackmail.”

“As campaigns start, we shall mobilize and enlighten Fulani young and old to every ruga’s and town to sensitize our people so as not to be deceived by Miyetti Allah, Kauta Hore and its like.” shocked

It is very unfortunate that the Rivers state APC has not learned from its own history. Frightening godfatherism-bearing has remained the bane of the party. The former Transportation minister has made himself the lord over the party; his egoism has veiled all sense of decent reasoning and respect for legality. The party does not respect the electoral guidlines, neither does it allow the practice of internal democracy. Before the primaries, the former minister forced all aspiring candidates to enter into written agreements that whoever the party's leaders (himself is the party's leaders) present as the winner of any of the aspiring positions should not be protested, resisted, questioned, or contested in the court. They all signed. So, the party didnot mind the electoral guidlines. In APC, we see what Tinubu has turned himself to be in Lagos state... a lord. Akpabio attempted to be lord over Akwa Ibom state but he could not. Adams Oshom attempted same in Edo state, no way. If you want to secure your properties in an area where incidences of theft is high, engage a well known thief within the area, and your properties will be safe. We will be seeing More Boko Haram laying down their weapons and surrendering now that Shettima is recognised and chosen by APC as the presidential running mate.

Regions? Tinubu has ruled Lagos state for 8 years and Peter Obi ruled Anambra state for 8 years. you judge how they faired and you will agree that Tinubu didnot do badly even when the funds accrued to his state was seized by the federal government all through his administration.

You see how religion narrows our options of having credible leaders (not that I think Tinubu is a good leader)?

Just see analysis.

Sadly, the North makes up majority of the voters.

The same Arewa that will pick Atiku over Tinubu, even though Tinubu is also a muslim, just not from the North, will definitely not vote in Peter Obi.

It will take a long, long time before Nigerians will be wise and matured. Why are people talking about Northern/southern; muslim/christian candidates for presidency. Count it for me, how many years has the north rule Nigeria? What is the level of poverty in the north compared to the south? what is the level of diseases in the north compared to the south? What is the level of education in the north compared to the south. Record shows that the best the nothern people the (grassroot) have felt the impact of government most was under Jonathan's presidency... a southerner. So why the craze about northern presidency?

The wise reasoning is to look at the caliber of the person aspiring to be president. Whether a muslim. a christian, a northerner or southerner does not matter.

Omokri, is what you are doing the proper way of "working hard " to attract appointment? You are a true Nigerian...... throwing invectives on others to woo political appointment. There is Amaechi, Onu, Obi and others; curse all of them, malign them, and then.. go to Tinubu for ministerial position. Also pray that Tinubu should win the general election, otherwise, you will go the way of Osibanjo.

A word, they say, is enough for the wise. That's if you are wise?

now Obi can cruise to victory before 2pm on election day!

Peter Obi Presidency assured and sealed ![/quote]

It is hard to understand why some people cannot read the simple hand writing on the wall of Nigerian politics. Peter Obi WILL NOT take third position during the general election next year. He is a good man, like some other Nigerians, but he is truly NOT having a pan Nigerian outlook. He is more of a regional leader. He can win as a governor or senator, but not as a president of Nigeria.

IT may be hard for you to believe but that is the truth on ground. Peter Obi may be the fourth on the result....simple.

Mr. Magnus is the governor Rivers state never had. The current flag bearers of PDP and APC are not the quality of persons Rivers need as their leaders. PDP'S candidate, the accountant general of the state, is primarily to cover the track of Wike if allowed to be forced on the state as the governor. The APC candidate was hand picked by Amaechi and not the leaders of APC. Rather the leaders were made to sign an undertaking to keep mum even if an slowpoke/slowpoke was chosen. They were gagged and one man (Amaechi) singlehandedly pushed him down the throat of all the APC gubernatorial aspirants.

Oh...Rivers state which way to go. Mr Magnus Abe would have been the way!

Peter Obi is good but his political popularity is NOT nationally based. He is popular only in Anambra, Imo and sparsely known in Ebonyi and Abia states. It is unfortunate that he cannot go far in the general election. This is the truth, and sentiments or wishes cannot change it.

I like this very much. Mr. Wike has set a precedence. From henceforth all governors of Rivers state should thoroughly probe their predecessors.
Amaechi must face the commission to explain the alleged N96b fraud hanging on his head. I won't be surprised if Wike's own is far higher after his tenure. Sadly, if Rivers people allow him to put his stooge in the Bricks house, nobody will hear of his (Wike's) mess.

In the Eyes of the Constitution,

Jonathan has done only one term as President...

The first 2 years he served as President was to finish Umaru Musa Yar'adua first term ..

The first 2 years is not part of the 8 years he his allowed to rule as President.

This is the point I am making. He can only serve 4 years and the north will take it again, (note that Buhari will just be completing 8 years. But if the first 2 un-elective years are counted, it's worse ! Either way the arrangement is not good for the south interest.

The drafting of Jonathan into APC, and the promise of the presidential-seat bait is not only a clandestine, but ominous one. The Northern cabals' choice of Mr. Jonathan is not intended for the benefit of Nigeria but for ethnic-based selfishness. Mr. Jonathan will win, and the same cabal will head to the court and secure his disqualification(to rule more that another 2 yrs) to pave way for his vice (a northern person ) to continue. By the Nigerian constitution, nobody can be a president of Nigeria more than Two terms of eight years. If he accepts APC bait and wins the general election 2023, then, he shall have won two terms and his four years tenure (combined with his previous 6 year rule) shall have amounted to ten years. I hope his lawyers will think in this line. Mr. Jonathan should not play himself into this disgraceful game.

The North is still not happy that Mr. Jonathan refuse to honour the gentleman agreement on the PDP's presidential rotation btw the north and south. His insistence and going ahead to contest after the Yaraduah tenure killed that agreement.

Looking the other side, i also see his eagerness to go back to Aso Rock as an opportunity to right the wrong of his previous 6 years' rule. H e had admitted the he did treat his region well, so this will offer him great oppotunity.

Politics / Re: Presidency: Jonathan Still In The Race, Puts APC Screening On Hold - Vanguard by badumjoy: 8:55am On May 26, 2022
Omooba77:
Contrary to reports that immediate past president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, is out of the race for the presidential ticket of the ruling All progressives Congress, APC, because he did not submit his nomination form, Vanguard gathered yesterday that he is still in the race.

Sources said he submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms to the party. However, party leaders could not confirm, yesterday, if he has left the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the APC.

Some leaders of the PDP, led by Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, early in the week, met Jonathan to convince him to remain in the PDP and attend the party’s presidential convention on Saturday.

The move to include Jonathan in the race, sources said, last night, was partly responsible for the much-postponed screening of APC presidential aspirants.

Apart from the issue of raising a seven-man screening committee to be chaired by the National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the panel has to be given a list of aspirants to be screened.

It was also gathered that the bid by some powerful Northern political leaders to draft Jonathan into the presidency of Nigeria in 2023 is gaining momentum, with the endorsement of the idea by a cross-section of Northern political stakeholders.

Vanguard however learned last night that although the idea has been pushed to President Muhammadu Buhari by his henchmen, he has neither rejected nor openly endorsed it as of the time of writing this report.
A source close to Jonathan’s camp confirmed to Vanguard that the bid by Jonathan to fly the APC flag in the 2023 presidential election is on the course but declined to give details of the process and who the promoters are.

The source was confident that barring any unforeseen political development, Jonathan might emerge the consensus candidate of the APC and win next year’s presidential poll with a wide margin.

The source said: “There have been a series of political stakeholders’ engagements and many more are still being held in a bid to finalise the details of the process and we are confident Jonathan will emerge the candidate of the party.

“Although there have been some back and forth developments relating to the project, there is clear hope now since the necessary contacts have been made and are still being made to advance the cause of the former Nigerian leader.

Why Jonathan is still in the race

Another source told Vanguard how and why Jonathan is still in the race.

“They (Presidency Cabal) persuaded him that he is the chosen one. He got the nomination form but when he could not get any guarantee from President Buhari, he hesitated.

‘’The party created room for those who collected the forms late to fill and submit. Jonathan took advantage of the window and submitted the forms.

“The cabal persisted. All sorts of stakeholders’ meetings were held to

There is no Rivers man who will be surprised about the corruption in Rivers state govt. headed by Gov. Wike. Our people say, If a young man abuses an elderly chief in the open, if he does not have enough juju, he has enough questionable money. The way the Governor of the state has been going about insulting Traditional rulers, clergies and even God ( remember he recently open his mouth and invoked thunder in the church hall), shows that he has so much. Like Odili's example he has pushed all monies meant for Rivers people into his presidential ambition. He is the highest financier of PDP. Where did he get the money, if not at the expense of civil servants, pensioners, staff-starved state schools, and the helplessly-cheated rivers women and men?
