That's not how the game goes unfortunately,, If this was the case then Broke women will deal with Broke men. But broke women want rich men cause we're all looking for a partner who brings to the table what we don't have.

Women marry up financially. Men marry up morally.

A broke woman and a rich man works (Cinderella)
A morally pure woman and an evil man works (Beauty and the Beast)

Its easy for men to save a woman from her financial defects but next to impossible for men to save a woman from her CHARACTER defects. No amount of love and money can change a hoe into a housewife.
But it's easy for women to change a man's character defects. With enough love and fidelity from a woman,, even the most brutal barbarian can be domesticated. What's very hard for women to do, is save a man from his FINANCIAL defects. Its an uphill battle against a man's own ego and a woman's own utter disinterest in using her own money to uplift a man.

Interesting but unfortunately you guys are getting it wrong. If you want a happy marriage, focus on a good girl. Status should not be the focus, if it comes with her good personality, then fine.

There are so many good girls who don't come from affluent homes. Just make sure her family has self pride and are not leeches.

Just realize that women marry up. A certain category of women don't want you even though you think you are well to do, they want better.
Look for the good ones who want you. They make better wives. Free advice from someone who's been there.
Correct submission

Fasting indeed. Not eating lunch is the definition of fasting in Islam right? I I can eat such food 4am, I will be ok for the rest of the day now, infact disturbing people with mess sef
To answer your question, that's not the definition. The concept of fasting transcends ingesting food or otherwise. Just like you referenced, if someone like you can take meal at 4am and be okay for the rest of the day, then what is it really all about. Lots of folks are good like that too.

Fasting is all about belief, niyah - intention and the desire to obey the Lord's command.

And that's a crucial part of faith.

Family / Re: Update On My Husband Leaving Us by Bakare19: 9:33pm On Feb 10, 2022
Damn! The husband must be frustrated as heck.

Madam, you are too combative in approach and for all we know, there ain't clear evidence that your hubby is having an affair with the said lady.

You want to throw away your marriage based on presumptions, and a mere unsubstantiated distraction at best from a stray woman?

This is really surreal.

Won't be surprised if the union eventually embarked on the strike.

I think there is an unspoken rule in the ASUU file and rank that any new tenure President of its union must embark on a 'striking flex' with the govt. Perhaps, as a barometer for its effectiveness and/or efficacy? undecided

This is becoming a pattern to be tossed away.

CountVersailles:

Let me tell you a story.

My brother left school and job prospects in Nigeria and went abroad. He had a student visa, some dollars and was expecting a relation to pick him up at the airport. That was about it. When he got to the airport in Houston, no one was there waiting to pick him up. In fact, the relation called him and told him to start heading back, that he has no interest in having him around. He had nowhere to sleep. Hustle started. He had to go to the branch of our Nigerian church in Houston to beg to sleep. They pitied him and accommodated him, and allowed him to live on the chairs of the church for a week until he got a restaurant job. He contemplated coming back home and in fact bought a ticket, took a taxi to the airport, but changed his mind at the last minute. Resolving to stay back, he intensified his "hustle", working in restaurants where they treated him like shit and started going back to school.

Five years later, he is now employed in two places, making north of $120k as a software developer. Planning to start his own company and offer jobs to his developer friends he left back in Lagos, many of whom are still struggling to find a good job. In fact, some of them are now working for him (online). He got his green card legally, and planning to marry soon.

What am I saying? Most Nigerians give up easily when they go abroad. Abroad is not a bed of roses. You have to work, have to show a strong desire to succeed. Nothing is going to be handed to you on a platter. For many Nigerians who have had it easy before travelling out, this is often difficult to understand. They find that they can't cheat the system. No lecturer will collect money from you to bump your score. You suddenly can't enter a bus without paying by lying to the conductor that you lost your money. Those tricks with which you survived in Nigeria no longer work. You have to learn new tricks. This is the part where many people fail and is probably the only lesson here. Whether you are in Nigeria or abroad, you have to show a desire to succeed given your environment. IF this desire is not there, failure awaits!

Many people are rich with ideas to post but they might not have the time or schedule for it, but some people are very interested in keeping the trend going and active and they can post their own content, copy from social media, or copy from other trends that are related to the discourse on these trend from Nairaland, I have copied so many contents from Nairaland but I always make sure I site it's owner by using "cc" referencing since I don't know how to copy and paste from other trend, Ubunja wants me to quote him not copy him which is the proper manner to do it, but since I don't know how to do that from another trend, I have to learn it , so as not to cause unnecessary conflict

Please guys let's forget about these and move on
This is impressive.

We are all learning and expanding our horizon here. For someone in academia, I particularly understand the reservations from Ubunja and the subsequent ensuing engagements. Yet, I believe this is just a normal misunderstanding which is not unusual in a setting as this. You've owned up, and address this well.

Bravo!
