Amotekun is dead.

What you're now practicing is community vigilante.

The issue of security shouldn’t be in line with any competition between the SE and the SW. We are talking about protecting the lives of the people. It’s sad when I see peeps from SW and SE fight and argue over the little things and you leave out the real enemy that is causing the majority of this security issues, which is the North.

They already had the bill and the house is sitting on it already. The bill state that the local chiefs of the community will be the one to bring those that they believe can serve and they will stand in for them. Whatever this aboki is saying is just word of mouth. My point is very clear and unambiguous.
If this guy had been locked up bu Buhari or any APC Governor, the amount of noise it would have generated would have blown the roof of any building.
The fact that those that were complaining when Sowore was locked up have decided to stay silent on this guy's case shows that their intent is not about rule of law but mere political, tribal and even religious.
This man has been locked up for 174 days yet most never heard about it. The worst part is that this man is a true journalist unlike Sowore who has evolved into a politician by running for the presidency of the country.

Well, I will say you have a point. But also, Sowore’s case is against FG and his own is against State government. People generally pay attention to Federal level than states. But still, that doesn’t mean your point is not valid. I personally expected more from people and the civil society. They came in late but at the end justice was served.

The INEC chairman is a Fulani Muslim under GEJ. Those are strategic key position.

During Jonathan’s government , he still employ a Fulani Muslim as the INEC chairman because he believes more in one Nigeria and that was his downfall. Buhari can NEVER use a Christian from the South as INEC chairman.

I don't know why Nigerians are like this. I am not in support of this Sowore guy cuz I think his actions are birth out of frustration from losing the presidential election.

This guy contested in the last presidential election and lost bitterly. Then he organized a campaign against the government by calling for 'revolutio'- even the US government won't take that as liberal as they are.

I am not in support of the Nigerian system coz I know all na fraud but u can't call for such a protest after losing an election. why didn't u arrange d protest b4 the election? why did he partake in d election in d first place if u want revolution or does it mean he lacks d the meaning of revolution?

If he had protested against election malpractices or bad governance or corruption; I will b 100% supporting him but protesting against a government u partook in its election by calling for revolution, I see it as an act of anarchy- calling for the citizens to topple the government which I see as a treasonous offense.

Well said, but the court already granted him bail and the DSS didn’t obey that court order. Why is that ? No one on Nigeria is bigger than the rule of law. Why are you not saying anything about that anarchy on the part of the FG.

please, can someone explain to this my friend who or what ministry is asking for the loan. Your post should be directed to somewhere else like the ministry of education. Thanks

So, when the loan is borrowed who is paying it back ? Is it the ministry of information and culture that will be paying the money back ? Nigerians are paying the money back and if we have to borrow and pay back then it has to be something that will make more impact on the general populace of Nigeria.

It's quite a shame on you to be among the people who affirms a belief that social media might have come too early to Nigeria.
Everyone child wants to comment even on matters they are totally ignorant about. What do you know about TV stations both analogue and digital? I mean can you even afford a TV set?

Did you and the 'first to comment crew' even try to read the report to the end? No. You just read "$500m" and then your adrenaline pushes you type whatever...

No doubt, the proposed social media regulation would have helped a lot.

Go to Quora or other educative websites and you'd see it will cost about $850m to setup a TV station. But you didn't even read the part where Lai said....

... the loan was aimed at establishing the media and culture industry centre at the cost of $245m, digitise all NTA stations at $11m and construct integrated television services to infuse on network, .......

Instead you were bent on making bold every letter you need to expose your ignorance.

*******
A while ago, many people would scream about reformig NTA. The display is whack, their staff is this and that...... Here is a way out and then it's another complaint again

After reading my mentions, I still could see the reason why a white man's Twitter thrives better than Nairaland even within Nigeria. The old people outgrew here

Well, we currently have 12 centers in the country.

And one other person was asking me the use ; well, I'd ask you to make research yourself. But nevertheless, it's meant to promote, preserve your culture and also a means of job creation

Good analysis, why is this government not talking about borrowing that $500million and use it to build schools and school feedings for the 13.5m out of school children. This are going to be the new sect of terrorist if nothing is done. A country that has no peace can’t have any form of development. Education is the key to a successful future. But we want to use such huge amount of money on NTA that is suppose to be privatize and run itself and the other culture thing you mentioned.

The major difference is that, we have heard the case of Leah Shuaibu and other Christians that this evil people want them to denounce there God and worship theirs but we haven’t seen the opposite of that. I mean a Muslim being kidnapped and forced to denounce Allah and take Jesus Christ as savior. We haven’t seen that yet. Haven’t said that, I feel Muslim leaders have the right to cry to the FG of Nigeria about the killing of Muslims in the country but they don’t feel really concerned about that and you can’t blame the CAN for being concerned about the killing of the Christians. We Christians have demonized other Nigerians of other faiths tagging them killers for no reason. Our actions as Christians threatens the peace and unity of Nigeria. We must change our ways and learn to be tolerant of others. Everything must not be viewed with religious lens. The so called bastards we call pastors heat up the polity for their own gain hereby causing tensions between Nigerians.

The federal government should ban any protest by religious groups especially we hypocritical Christians who love to form victims in every situation. Unlike our Muslim brothers who remain resolute in the face of unnecessary stigma and persecution, we Christians have been favored most in this country yet we are never satisfied. I have been a born again Christian for the past 25 years and with the recent turn of events, i may consider Islam as my new religion sad

Everyone is free to practice any religion of there choice. The sky won’t come down if you choose to follow Islam or Sango worshipper for that matter. If Christians are protesting to FG for the killing of Christians by criminals then Muslims too have the right to protest to the FG about killing of Muslims in Nigeria also. We all have freedom to protest against bad government in Nigeria as we all participated in the elections. Democracy is defined for the people by the people and for the people . Be you Muslim or Christian you can go out there and call the attention of your government to the killing of citizens of its country. Am sure if it was one of your family was killed you won’t be sounding this way.
We have a failed government that doesn’t listen to the yearning of the citizens. They have forgotten they are there to serve us and not rule us. There primary assignment is to protect ALL lives and properties of citizens of Nigeria but they have failed so far and that’s sad and pathetic. Madam, no matter how much we try we can never understand the magnitude of your loss.

Having said that, we Nigerians are always overly sentimental and emotional on issues. There is no way that any govt can effectively and practically prosecute all Boko Haram soldiers. What the govt must do is to prosecute and bring to books the leaders of the group. If any of the idiotic foot soldiers realize that they have made a mistake and want to repent then that's good for the war on BH.
Even after world war 2, the allied could't prosecute foot soldiers, they only went after the identifiable leaders.
Trying to prosecute all Boko haram foot soldiers is an effort in futility, it will amount to nothing. It's practically impossible.
Also these repentant ones will be useful in getting some excellent intelligence information on how and where the remaining terrorist are.
As long as they have not been personally indentified as part of a group that killed anyone, then the best thing the govt should do is to use them for information, rehabilitate them and release them. That might sound cold, but it is the only practical and logical that the govt can do.

Nice analysis, since they have been rehabilitating and realizing them as it yield any positive result ? Did this government even bother to follow up on the released repented terrorist to know what they are upto ? If rehabilitation can change this foot soldiers then they can also easily convince them again to carry gun when they have nothing to do.

Take it or leave it , this current federalism we practice can’t give us the result we want. The federalism that allows some state to keep having kids and not doing any work and the states that are producing all the money gets little while those ones not doing anything than increasing there population keeps getting more. True federalism will challenge our governors to be creative in ideas to move each state forward and not to always wait for oil money from the FG.

Nothing changed from Afenifere then and a Afenifere now, they still follow there manifesto.
