Obi1kenobi:
You missed the part where I said Ogun would be in recession, but is in far better position than other SW states bar Lagos and the part I said it has a promising future with spillover investments from a saturated Lagos. But let's not kid ourselves, they're heavily dependent on Federal allocations and they've surprisingly had fiscal issues and needed an FG bailout.

Ondo regardless of its minerals (many states have untapped or underexploited mineral resources) will struggle massively. To me, every single Northern state, every SE state, every SW state, bar Lagos, and SS states like Edo and Cross River would struggle to achieve viability if weaned of the teat of Federal allocations and we ran a true American-style Federal system with states as federations units.
Don't be Ignorant once again my friend Nigeria will not attain full resource control if other regions Mineral resources do not commence their own Mining operations.

So you expect the rest of Nigeria to just let SS seceded away from Nigeria after the entire country allowed the SS oil to be explored, drilled and produced at their own expense.

The blame is on the successive govt for ignoring other mineral resources in other regions and focusing on the Niger delta areas.

So don't expect the country to break up peaceful if the rest of the country have not began their own mining operations.

Obi1kenobi:
When did the British tell you the source of their capital for building Lagos ports? The SW was the richest region in the country in the colonial era, but it was never by much. The Eastern region even before oil was not far behind and the fastest developing region in the country and was also a major source of colonial trade.

Ondo is a minor player just like Imo and Abia in oil production. Largest oil reserves after Canada? What cheap weed are you smoking. grin And you're asking if I'm the mad one?

I won't be dragged into your childish insults. This was a contentious, but largely mature thread, but the kids are never far away unfortunately.
My friend I have respected your comments so far but don't be ignorant. Ondo Oil reserves in form of Bitumen(Oil sand) is truly the second largest next to Canada just that the cost of mining and refining Oil sands is more expensive and technical than the regular crude oil.

Canada have the technology that's why they have more Oil reserves than Nigeria. If the Oil sand in Ondo should be mined they will surpass the rest of Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Are Eastern Ports Dysfunctional? by bakynes(m): 9:58am On Aug 10, 2017
The truth is that the SW is at advantage in some things over the rest of Nigeria.

If you look at it the coastline, the Lagos port can travel through the North of Africa to Europe which is more closer to Nigeria than a ship travelling from the SS through the Gulf of Guinea to Europe which will have to pass through many countries water ways to Europe coupled with the fact the Gulf of Guinea is full of sea pirates in the Somali Coastline so it is more preferable to import through Lagos and even when exporting the ship will go through the SW to Europe and America.

Same reason why the Lagos Airport is more preferable .

All the Eastern ports were majorly created for export not imports.Calabar Port was created by the British for export of Coal from Enugu and that of Onne and Warri was for Crude oil export.

Importing through those port will naturally have higher freight cost than Lagos ports which is much more closer to Europe.

Just like Accra and Lome ports have lower freight quotes and cost than Lagos. Even some importer prefer to import through Accra and Lome and then use road to bring into Nigeria before the Buhari Govt closed the Land borders.

SW is geographically blessed and at advantage so no need Hating direct your complaints to Baba God.

She is correcting you and you are still showing your ignorance.

The Prince Charles and Princess Diana matter is not love that brought them together as husband and wife. It is how things were done Royal arranged wedding whether you like him/ her or not you have been betrothed as Husband and wife that his their Royal custom in the United Kingdom.

Charles is the Prince of England and Diana is the princess of Wales.

Not until recently when Prince William broke the rule by marrying a commoner Kate Middleton before it is not possible to marry a commoner.
PoliticsRe: Anioma: Our Igbo Origin Is Not In Doubt by bakynes(m): 5:00pm On Aug 03, 2017
The question should be is Anioma big enough to be a state and what is the population of the anioma people?
Those are the things considered to form a state. Even Ibadan as big as it is was not given a state.

Somebody should please give me an answer to the questions above.

Later they will begin to say Lagos is no man's land no be we tell your Governors to come and invest the money they ought to invest home in Lagos o.

What does he need a Governors lodge for in Lagos? simply waste of Akwa-ibom money.

We really need to redefine what hatred means. I tend to think it's all about emotional intelligence which is lacking in many of us. The need to recognize that we are different but must forge a common platform for unity. It will never work when we see it only from our tribal perspective. All sides must compromise if we believe in one Nigeria. I received several feedback from my children who attended primary and secondary education in Lagos with lots of pointers to suggest that Yoruba's are extremely tribe conscious. Yet it appears to the Yoruba that the Igbo hates them not the other way. The Igbo feels same way. We need to understand that both sides are right because the hate is mutual. Let's not deny it exists only with the other tribe. With this understanding we can then make conscious effort to stop hating by understanding that the speck in our neighbours eyes is actually manifested in our eyes as a log. That is emotional intelligence and it is the way forward if we must stay together.
Don't forget one tribe hold the grudge of the Civil war against the other and the other holds no grudge and therefore has no reason to hate the other. I asked some Edo friends who they think hates the other the most, the two of them attested to the fact that Igbos hate Yorubas more than the way Yorubas hate Igbos.
PoliticsRe: "You Can't Stop Nnamdi Kanu From Holding A Rally In Lagos" - FFK by bakynes(m): 11:43am On Aug 01, 2017
FFK should keep deceiving himself,Kanu is only playing eye service with him. Majority of Igbo people hate Yoruba people. They even teach their Children to hate Yoruba, but I can't remember a Yoruba person teaching his kids to hate an Igbo person, we are indifferent abt the Igbos we neither love nor hate them. Kanu did say those bad things about Yoruba pastors, leaders and people in general. He has no respect for any Yoruba leader except the ones trying to famz with him like FFK and Fayose.

There is no doubt it looks like a good cause but it has a political undertone underneath so I choose to believe it is not a genuine cause for liberation of the oppressed.

Stop this noise. If KANU comes to Lagos, there is nothing Yoruba's can do about it.
Like you know anybody has freedom of movement and can hold a peaceful rally anywhere in Nigeria, but he cannot do what he is doing in the East in Lagos. Things like Insulting Yoruba and Hausa and their leaders and causing gridlock and shut down of business activities he will definitely be chased out.

If he does it peacefully without insults and shutdown of business activities I doubt if Yorubas have a problem with that, different people do rally and protest everytime in Lagos and they don't have a problem with that.

Mumu as if Dino is not Yoruba. Let him come and shut down business activities in Lagos and see if he won't be chased out.

Afonja said to alimi 'If you help me fight my enemies, I will give you lands in Ilorin', that was an agreement duly signed by afonja and alimi. Afonja was the owner of ilorin lands and he gave it out to alimi, a fulani man from the north. Based on normal yorubas not being able to keep to their agreement, he was successful in fighting the ooni of ife and their armies but he later did not want to keep to his promise, that was why alimi called for help from the sokoto caliphate to chase out afonja and his brothers from ilorin totally.

You should be thankful that the alimis did not want to destroy your people completely by allowing them return to their lands. This is one of the problem of westernization, it is giving small people mind against their masters up north.
That is not the true story, Afonja is a rebel commander of the Oyo Empire (Balogun) he went to war with the Alaafin of Oyo and not Ooni. He left his Alimi his Fulani friend in charge of his hometown (Ilorin) which he was ruling. Before he was back some of his Chiefs collected money from Alimi and asked him to be their Ruler, when Afonja came back successful from the War, it was already taken over by Alimi and large part of his Army was already killed in battle he had to give up Ilorin.

I am Yoruba I agree the Ilorin throne has been given to the Fulani and today has a mix of Yoruba,Nupe(which has its lands close by) and Fulani but other parts of Kwara state is 100% Yoruba and will go with us if we are to go back to Regionalism or Ooduwa nation with parts of Old Kwara state in Kogi and Niger states that is Jebba and Kabba respectively.

Which ethnic group in delta state is bigger than anioma is delta state apart from urhobo.

Which ethnic group is bigger than ikwerre in rivers state, please say it.
I agree they may not be Minorities in Rivers but they are definitely not Majority as well.

Point is don't carve out the entire state for Biafra since you know the states are multi-ethnic just go with the Igboid groups in those states.

Don't force, Ijaw,Ogoni,Kalabari in Rivers don't force Urhobo,Itsekiri,Ijaw in Delta with you.

Kwara is a Yoruba state, Parts of Kogi and Niger carved out from the Old Kwara state are Yoruba lands.

Delta and Rivers is not an Igbo state though Igbo lands carved out from Old Imo state is in Rivers and Parts of Igboland extends to Delta and Benue.
PoliticsRe: So There Are Yorubas & Fulani's In NC But No Igbos In SS & NC? Really??? by bakynes(m): 8:29am On Jul 27, 2017
The situation is quite different Kanu is trying to claim the whole of SS or the whole of Rivers,Delta and Benue as part of Biafra. That is where the problem is, when we all know Igbo groups in these states are minority.

Of course the right thing to do is to form your Biafra with the SE states and the Igbo groups in those states.

But the case of Kwara is different,Kwara is a Yoruba state in the NC and part of Kogi and Niger states Kabba and Jebba respectively.

The problem is Nnamdi Kanu trying to claim people that are not Igbos into his Biafra.

Everyone knows it is the Hausa-Fulani Oligarchy that is controlling Nigeria. They are the ones IPOB needs to approach to have their secession.

Tell us how the Yorubas are holding you down from seceding from Nigeria.

You expect us to join you in your fight, when we have our own battles and challenges.

Stand on your own and get your freedom from the Hausa-Fulani Oligarchy, when we Yorubas are ready to leave this country we will leave without the support of any tribe.

The question is

What is being exported now that generates dollars.

I am not interested in things that do not generate dollars

I want accurate information and not just mere concoctions.

So provide me with resources from SW that generate dollars as we speak
Are you dumb that you don't know that Limestone in Ogun (Ewekoro) is been used for Cement and the Cement Industries like Elephant,Lafarge and Dangote pay Royalties to the FG.

Ondo has more Oil than Abia and Imo state.

Lagos Oil has began Exploration and production and now contributing it's little to the Federal purse

Lagos Ports( Tin can and Apapa)generate money for the FG as well.

Cocoa from the SW is still imported but the number of Cocoa farmers have reduced since the unitary system of Govt and advent of Oil.

You are just trying to hide behind tribal e war by claiming you don't not trying to incite one.
