Igbo people littered all over Nigeria and the World while their useless Governors continue to eat nkwobi and small stout with their monthly allocation. Yet, the very ignorant ones come daily on nairaland beating their empty chest, calling Igbo's the greatest of all time. Perhaps they will spend all that energy calling their useless Governors to action. The average graduate of a University in the SE has very little hope of getting a job in that zone. These are the things that should bother you all and not telling us how you own VGC and Lekki. Most of you have never even been to those places but perhaps with a few of your village men living there, then it translates to ownership. You need to get a life, get a proper life. One moment you want Biafra, the next moment you want to own Lagos. |
Why is it that when they talk about improved electricity supply, na only members of 40 laptop squad dey get this light? Abeg where una office dey make I come collect house near there. MUHEHEHEHEHEHEHEH ![]() ANIMALS!!! |
Sincere 9gerian: This further confirms how RICH GEJ's cabinet is. Even multinational agencies are harvesting from the cabinet.Bla bla bla as if those that came before him filled their cabinet with dullards. We have always had bright minds with brilliant CVs as Ministers so it is nothing new. When you have bright cabinet members and you have a dimdum like Jona as head of cabinet, of what use is that. |
Leaving before the ship finally wrecks. Sharp guy. MUHEHEHEHEHE Maku has nowhere to go as he is a Professional Politician. MUHEHEHEHEHE ANIMALS!!!! |
Complete hogwash and nonsense. If at all he committed any crime, then it is a state crime and not a federal crime and so only the Attorney General of Rivers can determine if he can be prosecuted. They know what they are up to and know nothing will come out of this their so-called "investigation". |
The whole noise on this issue provides further evidence that education in Nigeria is in a big mess. Lots of ignorant people out there who lack basic understanding of the issues but would rather jump on the bandwagon. At least try and have a bit of understanding of what is being debated before opening your ignorant mouth. |
OVOKO! OVOKO!! OVOKO!!! With Dame Jonathan as ghost Perm Sec, Ministry of Banga Soup, chopping half of the salary money, how the money wan use do? |
They want to fight another war. MUHEHEHEHEHE ![]() People wey never know wia dem dey. As my people talk, "Nwa mkpi n'agba ahuonu, onyeweya n'agakwa ahuonu". "Esi ahia, anyi ga ma onye ga pun ibeya aga ahia". MUHEHEHEHE When the war come una eye go clear. ANIMALS!!!! |

Akabo le le O. So this drunken sailor fisherman is looking for ways to kiss OBJs feet again? Someone needs to remind him that those people he sent the fat pig Dokubo to call "parasites" are waiting for him. |
These are the projects that give people from that part of Nigeria sleepless nights. You know why? Nothing is going on in their region. They are losing their lands to environmental issues while their Governors continue to eat nkwobi with small stout using their ecological fund. Hhehehehe |
You see the last time I heard a road project was constructed at about N100 million per KM was the 11 KM Ikorodu road dualisation project from Ikorodu town to Owode Onirin. That project constructed in 1997 by Kehinde Osikoya's Lagos State Direct Labour Agency. The entire contract price was awarded by Buba Marwa for about N1 billion. Julius Berger actually quoted far above that amount but lost out of the contract. While they were able to control cost and also give indigenous Engineers the needed experience through the project, quality later turned out to be a key issue. Few months after completion, some parts of the road started giving way. Sometime in 2007, one of the culverts constructed on that road completely failed. Now to think that over 10 years later, Yinka Odumakin challenged Akala over a project constructed at less than 100% of the price of the DLA Ikorodu road project shows he is not to be taken serious. He has made assertions out of complete ignorance. |
You see this thread gives me another view as to why projects and leaders fail in Nigeria. It is simply not having the write strategy for managing such projects. Imagine Yinka Odumakin as the Governor of a state tomorrow wanting to construct a 20 Km road project. He meets Julius Berger who quotes a contract price of N20 billion. He goes, "Tufiakwa!!! Akala constructed at N50 million per km". He then goes to Akala's contractor without professionally valuing the project to know what is a fair value. Akala's contractor tells him, "N50 million, we will do it, don't worry". Yinka gives him N500 million initially for the project. One year into the project, contractor is still trying to clear the road path. Yinka goes bunkers, signs of project failure is all over the place. It is simple, he thought it was a "bolekaja" process. He went into leadership without the right mentality and the right strategy. This is basically what we see daily in Nigeria. People think you can wake up and start developing without a conscious plan and approach to development. |
EasternLeopard: @GBAWE & BALLABRIGS Are u guys graduates.? If yes, what did u guys study. For ur info professions will do all to trick and get their share of the loot.I should ask you that question. What UNI basically teaches is how to bring evidences to support assertions. Unfortunately, most Nigerian UNI's do not do this and one can clearly see from the level of ignorance displayed daily on this forum. |
EasternLeopard: @BALLABRIGS Pls tell the world how much it will cost to construct a tarmac road on a 100meters Athletic sprint lane. My friend stop spewing rubbish. These are means govt officials siphon money. Remember Sen Eteh who demanded 660million naira to refurbish her house.I don't know and I cannot tell you but I do not go ignorantly quoting figures as a project price. I will have to see the project plan, bring inputs and then apply relevant valuation techniques to get the fair value of the project. |
EasternLeopard: @GBAWE 1 kilometer = 1000 meters. Athletic sprint distance is 100meters. If it takes 1 bil naira to construct 1 kilometer, mathematically it will take 100 mil naira to construct a 100meters Athletic sprint distance lane. U nid deliverance if u bliv this 2 a true.Look, it is a construction contract. Professionals value such contracts using different valuation techniques and not with this your Alaba brain. |
EasternLeopard: @BALLABRIGS & GBAWE That Akpabio and Obj spent such amount doesnt mean they are right. Those amounts are inflated figures. Which is one of the ways they loot public funds. So pls two of u should wise up. Both PDP and ACN have thieves. FACTYou do not get it. It can only be valued by professionals with supporting evidence and not the ignorant talk of "N50 million for one KM of road". How did he value it? What evidences can he bring to support his assertions? |
EasternLeopard: @GBAWE So to construct East-West road which will be about 1500km will cost the govt 1.5 trillion naira at the rate of 1billion per kilometer. Abeg which community secondary school or glorified secondary school posing as a university u attended.Mr please close your mouth and stop showing how ignorant you are. As at 2006, OBJ awarded about 300 km of that road for N211 billion. Which may not have even been enough. Today the road is still in a very terrible state. With inflation and rising commodity prices, the same road will go higher than the contract sum of 2006. Secondly, the fact that you spent $1 billion on 1 km does not mean you will spend $2 billion on 2 km of road. A number of factors come in, bulk discounts, fixed costs can be fully absorbed, overheads can be spread over many more km's e.t.c. In all it can only be valued by professionals and not ignorant people making assertions without supporting evidence. |
Most of the M0r0ns talking here are from one part of the country and so it is good I give them a good example on valuing road and construction projects. Sometime in 2002, Uba's CCC placed a bid of about N22 billion to construct the Onitsha to Owerri road. That same projects price was quoted at about N65 billion by Julius Berger. Olusegun Obasanjo knowing fully well and against all advise that that project would not be delivered at CCC's price awarded the construction contract to CCC. Today we keep talking of the same project. With the slow pace of work in 2007, Umaru Yar'adua had to take the Owerri to Uli part of that road from CCC and re-awarded it to Julius Berger. Over ten years later the contract price has been varied and increased to over the initial price quoted by JB in 2002 due to OBJ's deceit. Now who is the loser? |
Gbawe: Your logical utterances will never make sense to those who are ALUU-like and proud to be so. They will prefer to wallow in ignorance so long as this gives them an excuse to brandish e-sticks and e-machetes. It os Odumakin's incredible ignorance that should be under scrutiny. We should then look at the reasons why he would make such a daft allegation. A dedication to working with facts always marks out those who are sophisticated from those who are just the sort of unthinking 'herded' creatures politicians love to use for the divide-and-conquer suppression of others.Quite funny, I have had to analyse projects in the past and seeing such nonsense makes me want to puke. What evidences did he apply in reaching the appropriate cost of the project? Akala constructed for N50 million per KM and that is it. That is borne out of complete ignorance. He has just mentioned "KM" which is only one variable in analysing road projects. There are tens of other factors to consider. To think that any sane mind will take such serious is even more ridiculous. |
If at all Odumakin said so, he is talking out of complete ignorance. Firstly, Odumakin is not a Management Accountant, he is not a Valuer, he is not a Project Analyst and so what evidences did he use in valuing the appropriate cost of the contract. Secondly, what type of road did Akala construct with N50 Million per km. That road must have been made with palm kernel shells and not asphalt. Thirdly, when you award a construction contract, as the client, there is very little control over the use of resources and cost of the contract. And so a very large part of resource and cost control is the responsibility of the contractor. However, you get benefits which is difficult to quantify from being able to focus on other critical and core policies while your contractor focuses on your project. |
jhydebaba: ... even the country is a huge lie told some years ago. I'm not surprised.Did you steal the writers point? He says here “show me the man who says he has never lied and I will show you a liar.” The trouble is not lying, the trouble is becoming a habitual or serial liar. This sadly is the case of our president. |
You see this man na those kind people wey we go say, "the only truth wey dey in mouth na good morning". Even "good morning", you will need to look at your watch to be sure. The man dey lie fire. |

This is another fraudulent story designed by Reno Omokri. I have checked Odumakin's facebook wall and I have not seen any post or any comment from the man on Tinubu. Where then did these crooks get this story from. Few days ago, Omokri brought a fraudulent quote on Wole Soyinka and referenced it to Amaka Igwe saying it was from her facebook wall but alas it was a lie designed by the fraudulent Omokri. I think we all need to be wary of these crooks as they develop newer strategies as the old ones are failing. |

EVANS BIPI: [sud or=#000099]THE PRESIDENT'S WIFE IS A BAG OF TROUBLE, SHE HAS SUCCEEDED IN CAUSING SOME MAJOR PROBLEMS IN RIVERS STATE[/color]EVANS Naaaah it cannot be. Why must you CAME to nairaland to supervise the beating of PEJ? |
You see in all these, the biggest idi0t is the man Jonathan as it further portrays him as an irresponsible man. Fathers as leaders of the family have a role to protect their families and also shield them from needless controversies so when the bullets come flying in the future your family is protected because to an extent you have always left it out of your business. That is being responsible as the leader of the family. It does not mean disrespecting your spouse but rather protecting your spouse and protecting your family. Till tomorrow you cannot hold Mariam Abacha on anything as She hardly spoke on national issues during Abacha's despotic regime. That your Wife even issues those daft press releases says a lot about the level of intelligence of the man Jonathan. Does the man not have a brain. |
Why are you engaging this nitwit in a debate? You can see the way they think, no brain. To him it is about "our oyel" and we can do whatever we like. No consideration for the environment that is being destroyed daily by those criminals. Fifty years, we will still be cleaning up the mess caused in that place. You can see the type people Ken Saro Wiwa died for. He obviously thought he was fighting for reasonable people. |
740megawatts: Some ignorant f.ools here have no idea of what is going on globally. Chinese students are one of the highest scoring candidates of IELTS and TOEFL for at least four years now. Read this:LMAO they score high in those tests because they get people to sit for them. However, it does not take away the fact that these people are learning the language as they understand how critical it is for their development. |
Youngzedd: He should debate on other course, abi na English we go chop.Bla bla bla, and the Germans, the Chinese and Japanese do not learn English. The problem is most of you have not left your villages and so you hardly know about global developments. There is hardly any German from 50 years old and below that does not know how to speak English. Visit Germany and listen to young Germans communicate in English. You know why? Because they understand how important the language is for their development and thus made it a part of the drive to achieve development. Same with the Chinese who flock into English speaking countries to at least learn the basics of the language. I have met guys at the China Development Bank, they speak English! So you can go ahead with your Ijaw language, take Edwin Clark, take Patience and Asari Dokubo and see how far it will take you in the global race for development. |
