Didn't Dre produce Mary J. Blige (blimey, forgot the name of the track!)?

Didn't he also produce Truthhurts - So Addictive?

etc.

He produces non-hardcore na.

Pharell's good but please what's he doing in that categoryhuh

The two A-class American producers are Dr. Dre and Timbaland.

Dre hits you deep with his beats. Timbaland makes you dance and go blaow!!!

For me, Dr. Dre wins Timbaland - with a thin margin though.

@poster and all

I got 12 words for you:

Dead or alive I don't care but; Tupac can never be over-rated!!!!

Methinks he's even under-rated!!!!

@dblock
I listened to that Nigga and I'm like, That's wack. Nas is along the lines of Kanye West and Lupie Fiasco. He's good but He's no legend. Eminem is better and that's a Fact. And you can't even mention the Game and Nas in the same sentence.
shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked

Are you alrighthuh Please go back to your doctor and complete your treatment.

I don't even know what part of that post of yours sounds the silliest.

Man, that's the dumbest thing I've heard in ages.

Music/RadioRe: D'banj And Durella by Bamsyle(m): 1:20pm On Jul 08, 2008
@poster
I thought this topic was like a D'banj V. Durella stuff (as per who's better?) but it's not. The two artistes on the same track wouldn't sound nice as some peops earlier noted. Try Shyne Po and Guerilla Black grin grin grin

I'm actually a sticker for songs with themes/messages that teach lessons or make meaning. But if I'm to just talk about style and pattern plus lyrics without the lesson-teaching edge, I'll go for Durella over D'banj anyday. They might both sound alike but it's like water and blood. Blood is thicker than water wink wink grin grin

Apart from Mobolowowon, I don't dig any other D'banj song. For Durella, I love In The Zanga, Gunners, Shayo in that order. Overall, Durella represents that style on a better and deeper level.

Durella wins!

Truth be told dbanj doesn't have d smallest iota of musical talent and to make matters worse he's a sex pevert.If he's not talking about tongolo,its koko,kokolets or his ANACONDA.Imagine!The guy is overhyped jare.The only thing he has going 4 him is ATTITUDE.As for sheyman he hasn't done anything to be rated yet so he should just shut up and work on his music.He just wants 2 use dbanj to get cheap popularity.
You just spoke like an oracle.
Music/RadioRe: Nas Vs Jayz by Bamsyle(m): 9:10am On Jul 07, 2008
Hannibal, with the last two posts from Chiogo and the last from Bgees, I thought you got the point that nobody is interested in this Fiddy argument anymore. If the topic here is Nas V. Jay-Z, I think you should create another thread for your man Fiddy. I'll give you suggestions:

50 Cent: Best Rapper In World History

50 Cent Against The World

50 Cent: World Heavyweight Champion

50 Cent: The Future of Rap
grin grin grin grin grin

Methinks we've had enough of this Fiddy chap, if we go on like this; we ain't never go' stop.

I think we should discuss Nas' anticipated album.

Music/RadioRe: Nas Vs Jayz by Bamsyle(m): 9:08am On Jul 04, 2008
OMG Hannibal!!!
You've really disappointed me with the way you've been going on about Fiddy. Quote me anywhere: No true hip hop head anywhere would put Fiddy on his Top 1000 List of Rappers *hisses* What am I even saying? No true hip hop head would put Fiddy on his list of rappers at all.

With those laid-back flowshuh Nah!!!

Yes, the guy's successful. But the major reason that can be adduced for his success is his singing voice. Rolling Stone describes it as "the deceptively amateur-sounding tenor croon that he deploys on almost every chorus"

See, there's no other rapper that does that. But he's blessed with it. It's a commercial weapon. That's why Nate Dogg's hooks on every rap track back in 'em Warren-G, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, etc era was bound to appeal to all. Great hooks are very good for rap songs. And every rapper back then ran to Nate Dogg for 'em. Now this Fiddy guy suddenly appears on the scene and does both hooks and *amateur* raps himself. That's his selling point.

Talking philosophically, success does not mean quality.

That dude is a singer! I've never argued about his hooks. And in this real-rap-forsaken generation, where real rap no longer receives applause; Fiddy of course is bound to succeed. This cat should have started his career in the early nineties, dude woulda be a broke ass!

Now tell me one track Fiddy recorded without those hooks that became a hit.

Just name one hardcore rap track he did that became a hit. huh huh

I'll
also
pick Game over 50 even if i was a drunk.
.
Music/RadioRe: Nas Vs Jayz by Bamsyle(m): 6:25pm On Jul 03, 2008
Without 50 dropping the hooks n sporadic rhymes, those singles wouldn't have moved units
Dude, I'm even listening to "How We Do" as I type. Hookhuh Hell yeah. Said it before. Rhymeshuh Worse still sporadic? I don't get it. Or did you mean epileptichuh The Game's lines were over and above Fiddy's. Check out Fiddy's wacky opening lines:

50, uhnn
Bentley, uhhn

WTF!

Talk about Nursery rhymes!

Maybe if you remove the word "Westside" from Pac's raps then he'll be a puppy too huh huh huh I don't see anything wrong in The Game shouting Dre or whateva.
Music/RadioRe: Dbanj Vs Sheyman by Bamsyle(m): 6:09pm On Jul 03, 2008
Rubbish. And that's for the two of 'em

Hisses Who cares?
Music/RadioRe: Nas Vs Jayz by Bamsyle(m): 5:56pm On Jul 03, 2008
Aiight I haven't sampled the nu album from G-Unit I'll do and I hope it's gonna be worth ma time but get it right I'm not even looking at personalities here. I'm talkin' 'bout their rapping styles. Those two cats Obie and Luda have so far convinced me with their styles better than Fiddy.

And talking 'bout "blessings from Fiddy", what ya mean? Production? Collabo? Well, notwithstanding I got "Dreams", "One Blood" for you. And I even felt The Game more than Fiddy in "Hate It or Love It".

Aftermath/G-unit made THE GAME. . . . . Since he walked out on G-unit, what has become of him.
In the last 12 months . . . . he has admitted he was on the brink of commiting suicide TWICE.
Hey you the man putting personalities in the picture now. I don't care if G-Unot made The Game or if dude commits suicide. Long as we talk about what they spit, I'm game. Fiddy a great hook-man? Yes. But a rapper??. No.
Music/RadioRe: 9ICE IS A BOMB NOW by Bamsyle(m): 5:34pm On Jul 03, 2008
Your post's not clear; whatchu talking 'bout? Does "wedding day" mean the song or his actual wedding??
Music/RadioRe: Nas Vs Jayz by Bamsyle(m): 5:25pm On Jul 03, 2008
And what about The Gamehuh Ain't he better than Fiddyhuh
Music/RadioRe: Nas Vs Jayz by Bamsyle(m): 5:21pm On Jul 03, 2008
@Hannibal
You are getting things mixed up. . . . .Big/Pac are legends.
No rapper can touch those duo ever as the standard keeps falling n falling.
These days, we have more nursery rhymez than good punch-lines.
Agreed 100%. Yes you're right

In the land of the blind, 50 RULES. . . . . . .
Go n sample TOS(G-Unit).
Nah Nah & Nah!!! Don't be surprised if I say I don't even feel 50 like I feel Obie Trice, Ludacris and of course Eminem (Em's not even in this category, he's much higher). Each of those cats rap better than Fiddy. You're right it's the land of the blind right now but for me, I'll take those cats before Fiddy anyday!

And I ain't even got no problem with what you said above, my biggest worry is you saying 50's the future of rap; that's way too bleak man! Should we just agree with Nas then and say Hip Hop is deadhuh
Music/RadioRe: Is Tuface Proud Of Being Promiscous? by Bamsyle(m): 11:27am On Jul 03, 2008
Rockyfella, you're missing the point here. D'banj talks dirty but I'm yet to hear any scandalous story about him impregnating or messing around with anyone. I love 2face's music but he's very stupid if actually he said that ish (I did not hear it though I've listened to da song). That's a careless and shameless statement. angry
Music/RadioRe: Nas Vs Jayz by Bamsyle(m): 11:19am On Jul 03, 2008
@Chat2MeBac
Jay-Z ma ass, All he raps about is how he has been fortunate enough to be the one shagging Queen B, his other hoes, blings and his cars, diot,

Nas raps about life, Everyday situation, He deals with issues people can relate to, Nas for Life,
Well said gurl, and be sure that if you drop an album or mixtape whatever, I'll cop it. I'll be ready to listen to your themes cos we're on da same wavelength.

But I don't get the '411' on the relationship between you and Chiogo anyway huh just thinking aloud grin

@Hannibal

I just don't get you on this Fiddy issue. At first (with your preference for Biggie/Tupac style), you gave me the impression that you, Let me cut the chase, how can you like Biggie/Pac and descend to Fiddy's levelhuh? Fiddyhuh kiss kiss embarassed I understand your solidarity for Nas in that sense. Even Em. But Fiddyhuh? Man, I don't get it!!! If Fiddy's the future of rap, then rap is dead and should RIP!
Music/RadioRe: Nas Vs Jayz by Bamsyle(m): 6:04pm On Jul 02, 2008
I readily agree that Fiddy's a great hook-chap and a poor rapper. Infact, he should emulate Nate Dogg (my hook man anyday) and stop rapping. angry
Music/RadioRe: Nas Vs Jayz by Bamsyle(m): 9:14am On Jul 02, 2008
@Hannibal
We all have our preferences . . . . . .
Trust me, Nas' went off the boil after God's Son. . . . .Street Disciple and Hip Hop Is Dead weren't really as classic like anything Nas would do.
In those years, Eminem really showed a WHITE MAN can rap. . . . All his albums to date are Hip Hop classics.
I agree with you on almost all other points but trust me you lost me on this one. It's good to compare artistes album to album but I tell you what matters most in the long run is their overall skills and capabilities. That Nas made us breathless in Illmatic and God's Son means he can still do it. Summing up their skills entails what they spit in general on their albums and guest appearances on other cats' joints. We don't even wanna start counting 'cos we won't leave here today. Quote me anywhere - One of the true tests of skill is time. If any rapper (or artiste in general) can hold his ground for five years, then he's automatically enrolled into my Hall of Fame. Even if he later fails to deliver, I no longer care. Nas has proved his worth beyond reasonable doubt. Even Em said in an interview that he was so influenced by Nas that the beginning of his career, peops told him he sounded too much like him. He later changed his style cos of that.

Agreed, Em showed us a white boy can rap. He's got some of the most amazing wordplay, rhymes and delivery Some of his tracks get me wondering how on earth? But then, comparing him to Nas sounds preposterous. Forget the white boy stuff, Nas swallows him up in my reckoning.
Music/RadioRe: Nas Vs Jayz by Bamsyle(m): 8:41am On Jul 02, 2008
Ain't we going off topic here? Who're we on now? Lupe/Fiddy? Eedris/Fiddy?

Anyways, Nas rules Jay-Z like a king over his subject.
