[quote author=MrOlai]The palestinians are just so unfortunate. All that has happened to them could have happened to Uganda or any other African country Israel rejected in 1948. During the WWII, Adolf Hitler killed more than 6 million Jews. Jews were sheltered and protected by different nations in d hand of Hitler. Palestine was one of such nations. Thousands of Israeli refugees were harboured and protected by Palestinian government. When the Israeli refugee population in Palestine was over a million, the Palestinian shettered over 1millions jews? Oga plz tell me at what point in history did this take place? Gimme links if you have any |
[quote author=Vavavoom]@ Maasop, a two state solution with the existing DISTRUST is a dead horse on arrival. The Israelis apparently sense the continued demand for every inch of land by the Palestinians would not cease even with a two state solution in place. Who is to say after statehood the Palestinians would not pursue the perceived broader Arab agenda - that subtle intention of most Arab states in the Gulf to see Israel off the region- better still off face of the earth? Tough line stance an Yes that was 2004. Good post. your post is just the idea am tryin to pass across to these Islamic demons. |
abdulkayus: Dude that is nt my name and am nt abusin. If you are not abdu, then ur name is terrorist. Thats a generic name tho |
7lives: Question... what is nairaland.what exactly is ur point? |
abdulkayus: LOL, jus imagine wat dis brainwash guy is spewin out. And u will call ur self a human wit sense, I doubt dat. Guy, sit down, calm down and think if wat u jus wrote make sense to humans.Mr. Islam Abdu, just make your point and leave the scene. You dont have to be abusive to do that |
I dont the Islamic country or any country for that matter, that will fire one single missile or rocket into American territory and then not experience immediate reprisal. Two state solution is a threat to the existence of Isreali state. Palestine is an islamic nation and an islamic nation is terrorist nation or at least a breeding ground for killers and terrorists. With Iran, Hezbolla and other arab nations calling for the destruction of Isreal off the world map, only God knows what will happen if a free and independent islamic palestine team up with her Iranian friend to unleash terror on Isreali nuclear facility. My final opinion which has always be my standpoint is the complete take over of Gaza by Isreal and this time around never go back to any kind of negotiation to have it released again, just as it happened some decades ago. |
bonechamberlain: If only Israel would go back to its pre1948 borders there would be peace in the middle east.. in the first place they were imposed in that place by the British and the west to serve as their attack dog in the middle eastThey were not imposed by anyone. They went there on their own following Hitler's Holoucust. Palestinian land belong to Isreal and mind you there will never be two-state nations in that part of the middle east. More troubles are coming not only to Hamas but to the rest Arab nations in middle east. |
docsholz: The last line is d perfect truthThats it bro! Gosh I have no idea why people find it hard to see. Its fucking simple. very glaring; it didnt work out with Sudan neither does it work out between India and pakistan. Nigeria will NEVER be a nation. It wasnt one afterall. |
MrT2011: Barywhyte.Glad we are on the same side. |
MrT2011: Yes! My opinion is to abuse you for making a mess of someone's intelligent article and condemning the work of a great man.Well, the writer isnt too far away from my own conclusion. Read btw the lines. He didnt state it expressly though. What my opinion meant was that: Nigeria was NEVER a nation; and it will NEVER be |
MrT2011: Your last opinion made a mess of your wonderful quote.lol.... Well, you didnt finish your statement. Why not make your own opinion and leave the scene. You dont have to be abusive to make a point. Like me, you are entitled to your own opinion. This shit was never in existence. |
obiscolly: Please what's wrong in being a maid? Are there not people called nannies, baby sitters, drivers? Naija and una wahala sef. That's just a designation of her relationship with the girl. I see no reason why you guys should read any meaning into it. It's just the idea we have and the way people treat maids in Nigeria that's causing this negative response. My brother, walahi the tin tired me o. We are all hypocrites in this country. Is this girl not her maid? what else do Nigerians want Tonto to call her? I dont see any pride in this tin. Thats who the girl is. This criticism is absurd |
[quote author=bissiejoe]I had my interview on the 13th of june, though I had already seen my bank account details before going for the interview, Old mama just told me to fund the account and sent the confirmation to the embassy. I didn't fund the account until last week and got confirmation from DB on friday. I sent the confirmation to the embassy immediately on friday and yesterday I got a response that the confirmation have been sent to the alien authority in germany for final consent. This morning, Good for you. congrats |
b3llo: Nigeria will be united forever forget what Ahmadu Bello Once said "“This new nation called Nigeria should be an estate of our great grandfather Othman Dan Fodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We use the minorities in the north as willing tools and the south as a conquered territory and never allow them to rule over us and never allow them to have control over their future.” – (Parrot Newspaper October 12, 1960). US is no God to judge our unification as a nation.Has this country ever enjoy any iota of unity since 1960 or 1914? Has this country ever been united in anything before? Why do you guys become agitated and restless when the issue of secession is raised? Is there anything inherently bad in breaking up a failed and unworkable union. Which country of the world has its population roughly equally split between muslims and christians and in two different regions? This union cannot work. Believe whatever you want to believe |
Congratulation @beebee5000! It is well with you and all of us. Our own goodnews is coming too. We shall share it here Gods willing |
In 1885, the ‘fate’ of Africa was decided by a gathering of world’s European powers in Berlin, Germany. In the conference, an area in West Africa (which would later become Nigeria), was handed over to Great Britain, like a piece of chocolate in a birthday party. Following the handover, Britain exercised her rule by establishing her authority over the northern and southern protectorates. Consequently, in 1914, Britain through the then governor of northern region, Lord Luggard amalgamated the northern and southern protectorates, without the people’s consent. He later became the first Governor-General of the Nigerian Protectorate. His wife, Flora Shaw, also coined the name Nigeria. The Beginning of The End Like a house built on a faulty foundation, analysts believe that the amalgamation of the two protectorates, which was for the benefits of the imperialists, was like the mixing of oil and water. World renowned writer, Chinua Achebe, insists, “If the Berlin conference sealed Nigeria’s fate, then the amalgamation of the southern and northern protectorates inextricably complicated her destiny.” (There was a Country. 2012). In 1974, apparently realizing their mistakes, Sir James Robertson, the last colonial Governor General confessed 14 years after he left Nigeria that Britain (in amalgamating Nigeria) underestimated the power of ethnicity. Quoting copiously from his 1956 diary, Sir James noted: “The general outlook of the people (north) is so different from those in the southern Nigeria as to give them practically nothing in common. ”Comparing two European countries and Nigerian ethnic nationalities, he noted in his diary, “There is less difference between an Englishman and Italian, both of whom have a common civilization based on Greek and Roman foundations and on Christianity, than between a Muslim villager in Sokoto, Kano, or Katsina and an Igbo, Ijaw or Kalabari. ”Posing a rhetorical question on Nigeria’s future, Sir James asked, “How can any feeling of common purpose of nationality be built up between people whose culture, religion and mode of living is completely different?” (Prof. Omo Omoruyi, The Origin of Nigeria: God of Justice Not Associated with an Unjust Political Order. 2002). Little wonder, the late Yoruba leader, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, lamented: “Nigeria is not a nation. It is a mere geographical expression. There are no “Nigerians” in the same sense as there are ‘English,’ ‘Welsh,’ or ‘French.’ The word ‘Nigerian’ is merely a distinctive appellation to distinguish those who live within the boundaries of Nigeria from those who do not.” (In Path to Nigerian Freedom. 1947). Confirming our fears, Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Premier of the Northern Region, and leader of the ruling Northern People’s Congress (NPC) party, 12 days after our Independence, said: “This new nation called Nigeria should be an estate of our great grandfather Othman Dan Fodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We use the minorities in the north as willing tools and the south as a conquered territory and never allow them to rule over us and never allow them to have control over their future.” – (Parrot Newspaper October 12, 1960). With these emerging revelations, you do not need to ponder why there is always one form of killing or the other in the north as well as the issue of religion mixed with politics. The fact is there may never be an end to these killings, although they can be converted from one form to another. Yes, the killings can be converted from the 1966 pogroms, religious riots, Maitasine, post-election violence, Jos killings, Ansaru killings to Boko Haram bombings etc. I term this the Law of Conservation of Killings. Just as we have in Physics the Law of Conservation of Energy (Related: The history of forcible conversion to Islam in Nigeria). 2015 Election and the US Predictions A lot of articles have been written on the alleged United States National Intelligence Council predictions that Nigeria will likely disintegrate on or before 2015. While the "unpatriots" believe the alleged “doomsday” prediction, the patriots dismissed it as an unfounded rumor, insisting the US government never made such a statement, rather that the statement hinged on a mere assumption of “if s’ ” during a conference on sub-Saharan Africa in January 2005. However, beyond the alleged predictions, the event analyses and the current internal wrangling in the polity over the 2015 election, you do not need a rocket science to decipher a bleak future for Nigeria if the trend is not nipped in the bud. Thus while Nigeria was yet to recover from the the 2011 post-election violence precipitated by the pre-election threats from some northern leaders who promised to make Nigeria ungovernable if Jonathan contests the election, more damning threats are coming from the same quarters over the 2015 debacle. For instance, smarting from his 2011 electoral defeat, General Muhammad Buhari, an opposition leader from the north, who contested against President Jonathan, warned of an impending doom in 2015. “Buhari who painted a gory picture of Nigeria as that of a hound and a monkey engaged in a battle for survival said, ‘God willing, by 2015, something will happen. They either conduct a free and fair election or they go a very disgraceful way.’ ”Continuing, he said, ‘If what happened in 2011 (alleged rigging) should again happen in 2015, by the grace of God, the dog and the baboon would all be soaked in blood.’” (Vanguard, May 15, 2012). Also, Alhaji Lawal Kaita said: “We hear rumours all over that Jonathan are planning to contest in 2015. Well, the north is going to be prepared if the country remains one…That is, if the country remains one, we are going to fight for it. If not, everybody can go his way” – (LEADERSHIP, March 29, 2012). Do we need any further proof of impending crisis? In the same vein, the President’s men from the Niger Delta are not relenting in their efforts to ensure a second mandate for their kinsman in 2015. An ex-militant warlord, Asari Dokubo, spoke to newsmen and said. “I called this briefing because of events that are unfolding in the polity. Recently, the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta, Mr. Kingsely Kuku, made a statement in the United States of America, that the peace being enjoyed in the Niger Delta will not be guaranteed if President Goodluck Jonathan is not returned as President of Nigeria in 2015. I want to go on to say that, there will be no peace, not only in the Niger Delta, but everywhere if Goodluck Jonathan is not president by 2015, except God takes his life, which we don’t pray for.” – (Vanguard May 05, 2013) World Powers Intervention on Boko Haram The concern and current military intervention of world powers on the Boko Haram insurgency in northeast Nigeria are being viewed in some corners as a prelude or precursor to Nigeria’s disintegration. It will be recalled that, amongst other forms of criminality and crime against humanity perpetrated by Boko Haram Islamic sect, the world was enraged by the kidnap of over 200 female pupils in a High School at Chibok town in Borno State, on 14th April, 2014 by Boko Haram. Consequently, Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan solicited and received an offer for help from US, Britain, France, China, and Israel to rescue the abducted girls. Ironically, some forces in the north are clandestinely protesting against the foreign assistance by these nations insisting that they are on a selfish mission to Nigeria such as the balkanization or dismemberment of the country into many nations. They quickly pointed out that the coincidence of US intervention and their 2015 break-up prediction for Nigeria is suspicious. Articles have also been written on the internet and social media insinuating that Boko Haram is a covert operation of the US Central Intelligence Agency (Related: US Strategizes on Boko Haram). Religious/Spiritual Angle Since Nigeria is a religious country; the contributions of the Spiritual men in the affairs of the nation cannot be overemphasized. For example, I recalled reading Prophet T.B. Joshua’s message in March 2011 concerning the coming April 2011 general elections then. He revealed that over 50 containers of weapons have been imported into the country months before then, to be used during the April 2011 elections by party thugs. He also revealed that there will be bloodshed in a particular region of the country if a preferred candidate did not win the election. Well all that happened after the election is now history. Now another Prophet, Apostle Johnson Suleiman, who is notable for his accurate predictions has warned Nigeria of an impending doomed if Jonathan contests the 2015 general elections. These where contained in his January 2013 predictions for Nigeria. No matter how bizarre this prophecy may sound, Suleiman has always made accurate predictions in the past concerning the country and individuals. Panacea for Nigeria’s Unity Indeed nobody can arrogate himself the absolute knowledge for Nigeria’s unity and development, except God. However, in my opinion unless Nigeria reverts back to its regional governments and entrench true federalism then ideas preventing a break-up may just be like tales by moonlight. Though some people are of the opinion that Nigeria's problem is not ethnicism, tribalism, but corruption, leadership etc., we forgot that what kills an AIDS patient is not the malaria that attacked him but the HIV virus that destroyed his immunity. That is why it is necessary that we must discuss the basis of our unity and how we are going to inter-live with one another. A National Conference or Sovereign National Conference, whichever name you call it, must be encouraged by all, provided that no legislative, executive or judicial powers will usurp the decisions of the people. Though hopeful, I am not strictly optimistic that the ongoing National Conference in Abuja will do the magic. Because, following its constitution, I view it as a political tool employed by Mr. President to extinguish the agitation of the opposition forces in the north over his 2015 presidential ambition. Nevertheless, only time will determine the direction the Nigerian pendulum swings. Till then I will remain a spectator. Chike Nnamani, a public affairs analyst, writes from Abuja, Nigeria. http://chikennamani..com/2014/05/why-nigeria-may-not-last-beyond.html MY OPINION: There was NEVER a country in the first place

The Assembly denies allegation, says party is ignorant The Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has alleged that the State House of Assembly demanded N2 billion constituency allowances from the former governor of the state, Murtala Nayko as a condition for halting his impeachment. The party alsoalleged that the lawmakers collected N350 million upfront from the governor, but still went ahead to impeach him. The chairman of the APC in the state, Binta Garba, made the allegations at a press conference in Yola, the state capital, while giving insight into the political crisis that culminated in the removal of Mr. Nyako last Tuesday. But in a swift reaction, the Assembly denied the allegations, saying the APC chairman was ignorant of the statements credited to her. The former governor, who is a member of the APC, was impeached by 18 of the 25 members of the House dominated by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. The lawmakers claimed the former governor is guilty of the 16 allegations of gross misconduct against him. His deputy, Bala Ngilari, resigned his position in controversial circumstances. The Speaker, Umaru Fintiri, was subsequently sworn in as acting governor. Mrs. Garba explained that Mr. Nyako could only afford N1 billion out of the N2 billon demanded by the lawmakers and that the governor gave them N350 million, but they still went ahead to impeach him. She condemned the PDP for masterminding the impeachment of the former governor and alleged that it was a ploy to coerce the opposition into joining the party. She described the impeachment as “ill motivated, ill- timed, vindictive, illegal and immoral”. Mrs, Garba, a three-time member of the House of Representatives, also said the impeachment process was legally flawed on several fronts, as the notice was not personally served on the governor in line with the requirements of the country’s constitution and ruling of the Supreme Court. According to the APC chairman, despite a subsisting court order issued by the state acting Chief Judge restraining the state legislature from proceeding with the issue pending the determination of the case, the same acting Chief Judge went ahead to set up a panel to investigate the allegations in direct contravention of his earlier order which he had not vacated. “This and other illegalities send dangerous signals of the manipulation of the judiciary for narrow political objectives” she said. “If the judiciary is not insulated from party politics, but rather allows itself to be used to subvert democratic values, the country stands the risk of sliding into anarchy” Mrs. Garba noted that as a result of the desperation by the PDP for power before the 2015 general elections, it had been using the instruments of government to coerce the people in order to allow itself to be used to subvert democratic values. She warned that the country stands the risk of sliding into anarchy. “Had Nyako remained in the PDP, would he have been impeached? This abuse of power against the opposition is pernicious, selfish, ill-motivated and dangerous for Nigeria’s democracy.” she added. The chairman said the destruction of the opposition in Nigeria, even if it were possible, would inevitably lead to the destruction of democracy itself as it happened in several countries. She said the development had made PDP to be perceived as ruthless, unscrupulous and anti-democratic political party bent on retaining power in 2015 at all cost – fair or foul. The spokesman of the Adamawa state Assembly, Adamu Kamale denied the allegations. He refused to give details, but instead claimed that the APC chairman was ignorant of all the statements she made. Prodded to speak further, Mr. Kamale promised to do so after consultations with the House leadership. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/165328-impeachment-adamawa-lawmakers-demanded-n2-billion-bribe-from-nyako-apc.html |
