Op good move! I took same decision in 2014 after I lost my job as Gas Station manager. But then I knew precisely what I wanted to do. I knew about Linux before then. So I dua-boot my laptop with Ubuntu and I started learning Linux leveraging on free course on www.edx.org . Although along the line I had to take up a teaching just as a matter of survival but I never let go of my desire to continue to learn Linux. Even though I'm yet to get a first job as Linux system administrator , I'm very proficient in both redhat as well as Ubuntu (there are fundamental differences between these two Linux distro.) . And I have a couple of droplets set up with EC2 AWS and digitalocean (these are cloud servers). In addition I also learned Ansible automation tool which allow sysadmins to manage several servers with minimal effort.
I'm very happy with my progress so far and I'm absolutely confident of brighter future in the IT world. It's the future of the world and so many things are changing dramatically.
It depends on your interest and future plan. This field is very vast but honestly I will suggest you take a look at open source technology.
One area I wouldn't advise you to consider is programming. I have my reason.

I am not one! At least not yet. I'm just a Linux sysadmin aggressively looking for a job in this position. I know there are experts here with links. Pls help a brother. My expertise cut across systems automation with Ansible and bash, virtualization technologies such as KVM, Docker, Vagrant, virtualbox, system hardening etc etc . I can work remotely too if the option exist. Got a degree in physics but I want to switch career to IT. Programmers please help me with links and contacts. Recruiters prefer people with industry experience and that's understandable , especially in this field. But we all gonna have to start somewhere .

Registration has been shifted to 20th of this Monday. CBT centers has been released across d country. Do not jeopardize ur application by registering outside jamb-approved CBT centers. go to jamb site and download the list of centers and go to the one nearest one for your appreciation. Application fee is 6200naira.
5000naira for main application
500naira for English study text
700naira payable to CBT centers

No cash transactions will b allowed at d CBT centers.

Exam starts May 6 and ends May 20,
Optional Mock exam comes up on 8th April . You will pay 700naira for the Mock if you decide to participate. 350 will go to CBT center and 350 to JAMB.

open ur eyes and read properly. registration starts this coming Wednesday. I didn't say it has started. And for your information, my center Solid Rock Girls Academy is the ONLY approved CBT in d whole of sagamu for now. I dnt knw what will happen tomorrow. the nearest center to mine is BACKCOCK university.

The much awaited JAMB registration for 2017 is commencing on Wednesday 15th of this month. Examination comes up May. We have just 6weeks for this year's registration. Only CBT centers across the country are eligible to register candidates. Even if you go through agents, you will still have to appear in person at the CBT center to have your biometric data captured and your registration finalized.

All eligible CBT centers will be released on Tuesday 14th, 2017. Wherever you are in the country, just check JAMB website www.jamb.gov.ng for updated list of the centers. Accreditation of CBT centers commenced last Thursday and is finishing on Monday.

Following all of the above, we are the only JAMB approved CBT center in the whole of Sagamu in Ogun State. The name of my center is Solid Rock Girls Academy, opposite FCCG, Sagamu. If you are within this environment or anywhere in Ogun state, pm me for your registration. If you are reading this from other parts of the country, start paying regular visits to JAMB website for updated list of CBT centers in your city and check out popular national newspapers starting from Monday.

If you have paid money to agents who lied to you that registration has commenced, just pray that the man doesn't run away. JAMB warned candidates severally regarding this.

Note also that JAMB examination this year will start on May 6. This is confirmed! Not much is left. So start the jacking lol!

You are better off coming straight to JAMB approved CBT center for your registration.

WEMA Bank has been doing this to me for a while now and all calls placed to their customer care number 0803 900 3700 have not yielded any result. It got to a point where those managing their twitter account no longer respond to my tweets. I logged complaint in their office yet no solution.

The sad thing is that they admitted that I was overcharged for a transaction carried out via PayPal platform. Yet they won't refund my money. l paid for Gotv subscription yet the money wasn't credited to Gotv account and my account was debited.

Pls my people, who do I report this fraudulent organization to? Please help a brother.
