Is this moniker the same timesup we know. That guy that always rant on any topic attacking America and Nigerians in America . Your new moniker now timesupreloaded. Hmmm... Now I understand your frustration about America in the bolded. You spent five years in America? Hmmm... Really interesting. So what brought you back to Nigeria after five years?

I hope everyone is not thinking what I’m thinking. How and why he’s back in Nigeria after five year and he has been spending his time ever since, attacking America on nairaland.
The guy whose second account is drnoel have never crossed the borders of Nigeria let alone going to America because no reasonable man who has been to a civilized country will sound that bad or probably he went as illegal immigrant and were deported after many years and the best way to portray his frustration is by creating many accounts on Nairaland and attacking America up and down, or it could be that he was repeatedly denied visa and hence his frustration

Jesus Christ! Did you just say that? You mean someone who was teaching in a private school in Nigeria and receiving peanut left for Germany, his situation is not better than where he left? Bro, be truthful for once. Can you take up that teaching job right now and get paid 15k monthly? Why are we always this wicked to say the truth?
God bless you bro. I am really trying to shield myself from insulting some people but really they are so annoying with their lame posts.

Thanks but no thanks, you can send that to those begging for it. I'm doing good, I'm able to figure out how Nigeria works to an extent and make a living from what I do. But everyone I tried to teach or help fails! I see what my siblings go through and I know my kids will surfer the same faith if not worse. I know some people who's parents retired from Shell, Total etc, but due to the fact they where much younger and before they could finish from school, everyone Daddy used to know has retired so they start looking for jobs with little to no luck. I don't want my kids to think like you, I don't want them thinking owning a car or house is your destiny in life. When you buy a Venza you do a thanks given in church, when you buy an iPhone Xs max you throw a party and disturbe the Nigerian internet space. I don't want them thinking having a big ass is better than a masters degree! Being an instagram prostitute is your sure way to millions on BBNAIJA, and studying to be the best in class is your sure way fustration. Everything about Nigeria sucks, if it works for you, kudos! I'm a programmer, my mates are learning how to make cars drive themselves and making a killing from it. Staying back here is the worst decision I ever made, and it's because I used to listen to people like you. Anyone reading this, if your young, educated and skilled, Nigeria is not for you! Leave! Don't let those people who can barely read and comprehend a sentence discourage you simply because there life isn't working out. The same UK people complain about, my friend lives there and comes back every 4 months like plane ticket is free, and drives a 2019 Range! Same car heads roll for in Nigeria. Follow your dreams, abroad will be very beneficial to you as long as you have your papers you'll be more than happy you left.
Kudos to you my guy. Your post is epic

Since you're into building abeg, help out with work coz I dey follow my friend dey do electrical work, but work no dey since...We don come, Edjeba, kiagbodo , kaiama & otuoke come do electrical work in the past
Una wey dey talk shit don hear am?
This is the story of majority of Nigerian youths who finish NYSC, NO jobs, no support, no money. The government because of their inefficiency to provide jobs to the outrageous number of jobless graduates will sing the jingle of entrepreneurship to them without putting into consideration that not everybody is born to be a businessman and the competition in business is so fierce especially in Nigeria that one needs huge capital and lots of experience to stand a chance of making it through business, and yet some enemy of progress will discourage you from migrating to a place you can change your life. Very wicked set of people. Nigeria is a country that doesn't recognize hard work but who you know, that's why you see many hardworking people still struggling to eat and pay their bills while some lazy people earn like elephants because they are fortunate to know the ogas at the top, and yet when those frustrated youth wanna go to where things work and change their lives and the lives of their generations unborn, they will be discouraged.
We should stop being wicked

I visited Ochanja market today, after spending some hours there in the footwear market, I passed through Ochanja round about and headed to the almighty Main market and also surveyed that place.
Mehn, its not a childsplay, though their Ofe Nsala delicacy is second to none.
From my findings, I think It will require lots of experience, doggedness, money and smartness to survive there.
i visited many sides and even went to Emeka Offor plaza and i was at Onitcha till around 5pm and left few minutes before market closed.

Well, I think I will use the money and apply for Msc in germany this year.
I am too gentle for Main market, I will plan to leave this country and study more since I have a very nice result.
To God be the Glory, I am now in Germany doing my masters degree

Basalt.

I'm a freelancer earning quite some good amount of money online (above $2k per month). I'm still in school though. (Final year)

However, I'm considering moving to Germany after studies. Many of my folks are discouraging me against this move saying I will regret it since I'm very comfortable in Nigeria. ( The grass is not always greener. My dad still pays all my bills while I earn a lot of money too. But for some reasons, I hate this country and will want to leave immediately after school.

I've already saved out money for my blocked account.

With your experience, do you think Germany is worth it?
Waooo, 2000 dollars monthly online while still a student, thats lots of money compared to very low cost of living.
You didn't mention your course. It will help me to know what to say next

It's a good profession here
TravelRe: DON'T LISTEN TO Anyone Who Discourages You From Travelling Abroad by Basalt(op): 9:14am On Dec 01, 2019
Lets do a quick calculation

Block account
10,400 Euro (including charges)
flight 500 euro
accomodation and caution fee 1000 euro
school fees (semester contribution) 300 euros
Food stuffs, footwears and clothes 275 euros
TOTAL = 12,475 Euros which is equivalent to #4,990,000 without any pocket money added.
Ofcus you must hold some money for hand wey you go dey spend before they unblock your account because they won't unblock your account immediately you arrive. You still need to do some certain things and spend some days if not weeks before you get shishi from your block account.

So budget atleast 5million naira and be ready to be very very economical if not, even 5million nogo do.

This is just a rough estimate based on my little experience

Will an 100L transcript in computer science from open university be used for admission?
And 5million is big.... very big
LOL, student visa is a big investment. Block acount alone including bank charges will cost you close to 4.2million.
Then you need to hold about 1000 euros for accomodation and caution fee, you need to buy foodstuffs and also pay your flight ticket and pay your semester fee. Ofcus you will be eating before they unblock your Block account. You need to be very economical for 5million to even be enough honestly
at the bolded
I really don't know about that but maybe you can ask in our visa thread

I really appreciate your response Mr basalt when free, thanks in anticipation..
This is my answer

Basalt:
Nice Questions.
Well, I have not yet graduated and got professional jobs but I think I already have the idea from the intensive research I did even before application.

First of all, I will start by telling you that you should be worried about getting MSc admission first because your GP is on the lower side (if actually 5 is your maximum scale)
Most German schools demand 2.5 German scale (This is the formular for converting your GP to German scale =Nmax-Nattained/Nmax-Nlowest) x3+1.
I did a quick calculation on your GP and got 2.747 German scale which is below 2.5. Most schools will send you rejection mail unless you have practical experience related to your course to back it up. Thats why I said you should first think about how to get admission with GP less than 2.5 German scale (Nigeria highest is 5 while German highest is 1), though its very much possible but usually harder.
Note that in Germany, the smaller the grade the better.
1,0-1,5 sehr gut
(very good: an outstanding
achievement)
1,6-2,5 gut (good: an achievement which lies
substantially above average requirements)
2,6-3,5 befriedigend (satisfactory: an
achievement which corresponds to average
requirements)
3,6-4,0 ausreichend (sufficient: an
achievement which barely meets the
requirements)
4,1-5,0 nicht ausreichend / nicht bestanden
(not sufficient / failed: an achievement which

Secondly, I think data management is IT course and not so related to Geophysics. I doubt you can get admission in MSc Data management with a BSc in Geophysics. If you wanna change carrier, you start from the scratch (B.Sc) and mind you that most Data management MSc courses are not tuition free, so you have to be prepared for tuition fees.

You made mention of professional jobs being the main reason you wanna migrate to Germany. I perfectly understand your point. If you are a registered member of linkedin, you will see many Geoscience vacancies in Germany which shows that Geoscientists are still in demand but the question is ARE YOU QUALIFIED?
The first step to qualification is knowing GERMAN to atleast B2, having practical skills which you can get from the industry during your internship, attending seminars and making connections etc.
Truly, there are more opportunities for those in IT field but also know that Indians are mostly in IT and they are very good in IT so you must also be ready to equip yourself and compete with them in the job market.
Let me also tell you something you have not thought about.
Don't you think you can stay in Germany as a student and raise millions of naira (which is not easy to raise in Nigeria) and still graduate with a good GP, then in the worst case scenario if getting professional job in the country fails due to limited opportunity for your course or due to your inability to possess what they need, you can use the millions of naira to migrate to other countries that have more opportunities for your course?
Countries like Canada, USA, Australia, Norway all have good opportunities for earth scientists due to their wealth in Oil deposit and kerogen.
So you have nothing to lose in Germany if you have a good GP and practical skills and save money for possible migration when you encounter worst case scenario.
Before the end of my MSc program, I am targetting atleast 5million naira savings that even if the worst happens which is not our portion, I can use the money to finance myself and explore other countries.
My number one aim of leaving Nigeria is to be a citizen of a first world country. If Germany don't give it to me through the process of getting professional job or marriage, then I try other countries. My heart will rejoice wheneever I get any of the following international passport
Germany or Australia or America or Canada or UK or any passport of any good and sane country to retire with my children.
Returning to Nigeria to base after studies is not an option at all and I know for sure that God will grant me of my heart desire. I don't know about you but I am working towards possessing a first world international passport to add to the Nigerian own I already have so that I can easily migrate whenever I need even in my old agegrin grin grin,

Judging from all your stupid writeups all over nairaland, you didn't sound like someone who have been outside the shores of this country. Infact, you sounded bittered like someone who Walter Carrington has slammed over and over again.

You comparing a place with law, orderliness, reasonable environment to ketu shows that you are daft.

You comparing where people don't see cars as an achievement, where basic amenities is not something to fast and pray on, to a country where you have to share testimony in church because you bought a 2001 corolla shows you are dumb.

Comparing a place where you get quality education, world class infrastructure, and global exposure to a place where education is a complete mess shows that you are sick.

Comparing a place where police and security forces are happy rendering service to you in a rapid response to a place where it takes pizza 5mins to deliver while police and fire service takes 10hours shows you are insane.

Comparing a place where you can walk into any firm, submit application and get employed without having to know anybody to a place where the first question to be asked is "who referred you?, do you know anybody here?" shows you are lunatic.

Comparing a place where County, individuals and government is ready to assist you to grow, a place where every startups like fintech, farm crowdy, paystack and the likes run to to get start up fund to Nigeria where the government will literally kill your business with nepa bills, local govt levy, state levy, association levy, Union levy, shows that you are re-tarded.

Comparing a place where you can enjoy stable water, 24hrs light, access to resources, average car, and even buy house on mortgage even when you are earning $10 per hour to a place where you will struggle to earn 80k monthly on average. From it, 10k goes to generator fuelling, 10k goes to nepa without light, armed robbers will also have Thier shares shows that you are brain sick.

Comparing a place where I can wear deadlock, tattoo, and even army camo, and I won't be scared of intimidation. Infact, they will be happy to take pictures with you to a place where sarz will harass you and even shoot you because you are using iPhone shows you are crazy.

Comparing a place where lecturers and instructors are happy to teach you and make you great to a place where lecturers will boldly tell you that you will fail a course and you dare not revolt shows that you are mentality deranged.

I work just 20hours weekly cos I'm a student, I own an average car, rent my own apartment, enjoy 24hrs light, water, good road, healthcare, and World class resources,
Just imagine what it will look like if I'm a full time worker. This are basic things I never enjoyed with my 100k salary working from 7am to 7pm while in Nigeria

I'm done with you and will never reply you again.

My advice to everyone, if you have the chance and opportunity to migrate legally, please do. Your next generation will be forever grateful to you.

Sir please why did you say sponsorship is risky?
Everything that pays in life is risky but I used the word more risky (than block account).
Sponsorship letter passes through longer verification. The embassy will check the authenticity and also check if the sponsor is financially capable to sponsor someone in Germany and if there is any red flag usually due to the financial status of the sponsors, they will issue you a rejection. Imagine how the applicant will feel when that happens especially those that paid for it and the sponsor is unwilling to listen to him let alone balance him. it is very risky to pay for it but i wont blame anyone who took the risk for his future.
Block account is faster to verify and hardly gets rejected unless your performance during the interview is bad or your admission is fake or something similar.
Even if you get rejected with block account, you still get your money back because you are dealing with government, same cant always be said with sponsorship letter because you getting you SL money back depends on the person involved in the deal

I seriously don't know why you are so engraved in bitterness like this. Few moments on this forum, I have seen several hilarious posts from you on abroad topics.

The fact that you enjoyed suffering and smiling doesn't mean everyone else would..

I pay student insurance here and get vip health treatment,

Paid the same at my undergraduate level in Nigeria and couldn't get ordinary malaria tab.

Here In US, I get to talk to my instructors, challenge them at will, call and mail them at will, a freedom I never enjoyed back in Nigeria University.

Here, nobody, I repeat, nobody can use public forces to humiliate you, but back home, ordinary counsellor will gather police and army to beat up anyone against him.

Here, I don't need to be connected to any politician or richman to get a job or internship I'm qualified for, the case isn't the same back home.

Here, 911 works like magic. Police will get to you within minutes. Back in Nigeria, police will not even answer you if you don't buy fuel for Thier cars or settle them with bribe.

Here, you can rise comfortably to any level because the environment works and favours business. Back in my home country, I have tried 5 separate businesses and failed because of poor economic factor.

Just few semesters here as a student, I have been exposed to world class facilities and resources which I never enjoyed 1/50 of it throughout my entire five years of undergraduate in Nigeria.

Here, you don't have to be rich to own a car, enjoy stable light, water and good road. Back in my hometown. You have to belong to the upper class or middle class to enjoy these.

Here, forces will never take bribe from you or harras you anyhow unlike what police and sarz did to me back in lagos last year December just bacause I had a tinted hair.

The fact that your family member migrated with visit visas and ended up been destitutes and nuisance doesn't mean every other person will.

Like someone said earlier.
If you migrated legally, have abroad education, there is no way you will suffer here because the jobs are there, you go work tire sef.

You were talking about people making it back home.
I spent 9 years of my post bachelors in Nigeria and I can tell you that up till now, none of my level mates whom we graduated together, and even people whom we served together that I'm still in contact with has made a specific limelight apart from regular struggling to stay out of poverty. Except the ones who have access to stolen / fraudulent funds or having rich family backup.

Just shut the fuckup and let everyone who chooses to migrate legally to do that in peace. Enjoy your suffering and let others embrace Thier freedoms
You have said it all. Thanks for these wonderful points.

When you eventually visit Nigeria 10 years later all your friends you left behind will be running things majorly, that's when you will finally realize you made a great mistake. The happy mood for someone who travels to the US. last for just 12 months. After 12 months eye go clear
shocked shocked shocked

I am surprised to see this post from somebody that breathes. Did you by any means read my starting story and how I was earning less than 30k in Nigeria since graduating from school before getting this opportunity?
It is people like you who discourage young guys from being better than they would have been, I am not saying that one can't make it in Nigeria but Nigeria no dey favour everybody, like I said in my earlier post, if e favour you then enjoy but if e no favour you like me, then find your way legally if you have the opportunity and believe me you will never regret it, I can attest to it.
Do you know how much I make here in Germany for just a single day of going to work all night? about 40,100 naira, which means in a single day of softwork, I make more than what I was making working like a slave teaching in private school for an entire month in Nigeria (even after tax) and I work 5 times in a week. Do the mathematics for a month bro and stop discouraging people from taking a bold step.
Some people here make in a month what most graduates can't make in an entire year and these people still enjoy 24hrs light and all the basic needs of humans. Nigeria favours only the rich and fortunate ones bro, dont use the minor ones it favours to generalize because many youths are suffering and earning peanuts in Nigeria.
You talk about ten years from now, now tell me, What would I have achieved in ten years as a private school teacher earning less than 30,000 naira?
What grave mistake did I make by deciding to leave private school for an MSc program in Germany?
You are indeed not making any sense at all
I am really so surprised that someone who still breathes and has human sense sounds like this.

Especially this Nairaland.

It can bury your dreams of getting out of the country. The threats on that travel section alone won't encourage you to leave Lagos for Ogun State.
The easiest way to spot an enemy of progress is when he discourages you from leaving Nigeria legally. Runaway from such people and thank me later.

It will be more than enough if you have somebody in Germany willing to write sponsorship letter for you for free. But seeing such a person is like seeing a pregnant virgin unless he is your good uncle or relative.
Without seeing somebody willing to write sponsorship letter for you, then what you have might not be even enough to pay for sponsorship letter sef or barely be enough for sponsorship letter before adding tuition, flight, accomodation, pocket money, money for shopping etc

I don't want to counter your opinions, but this your last statement is just non.....

Don't look at people that way o, wetin u no know pass u.
Some have other ways to kill their birds. Don't come and be comparing and think u that go to class are "over-productive".

I bonded with someone recently, he just left my side now sef, he looks unserious but only one or two here knows what he has been able to achieve in just 5 years of being here which include what many of us are praying for.

Take this from me, "no one is unserious in Germany". Don't come and be looking ur neighbor, just mind your business look straight and pray ur plans pay o. Nobody advises another here o especially in the light of what u wrote, here no be Nigeria. no be u carry them come and how d go succeed with their own plans, u won't understand. grin

No be person wey call police go always win case sir, just mind your business and pray for grace to see u through grin
Lol. I understand your point. It is not always he that runneth that wins the race but atleast try to run first...
When you come to Rome, you have to be like Romans. Its not the best for somebody to be in Germany for many years without atleast knowing how to communicate with Deutsch let alone act like Germans. You will make it here more when you sabi speak their langauge and develope yourself

I hope at least your pay is worth all the stress
Ofcus the night shift comes with higher pay (usually 20-30% higher than morning shift).
I think its same everywhere in Germany.
Nightshifts is not for everybody, those that have the guts and strength to do it get their palms rubbed with more oil.
On the pay day, once you receive your alert, body go dey sweet you like a young boy that watched his first porn. When you press your calculator and convert it to naira you will end up regretting why you didn't come earlier
