I think he applied using his year one transcript and got admission. He is lucky that his date is near, he can still book and get good date |

What's happening guys? A friend of mine called me today and complained that VO sent him back for booking under a wrong category. He is going for a Bsc course but booked under category A and Paulinus even passed him to the interview section only to get kicked off by the VO for booking with wrong category.
I don't know if someone has posted this information here because there are many messages and I really don't have much time now to read all. I think it's a wise decision to book with the right category otherwise you will get kicked inside the embassy.
A word is enough for the wise |

Cnwag: Well I would say let's just try and do the needful..then Monday as many as we can try to call the consulate for clarification. Thanks. Let love lead Even if you call them on Monday, they will refer you to send email to the embassy. You go see wetin go happen na. Many people called them already and the girl refereed them to direct all their enquiries to the embassy via email. And they hardly reply emails sef. The best thing is just to weigh your options well and then take your own decision by yourself and then face the consequences of whatever decision you take if any |

lilfreezy: We've been having this debate for far too long. Many people booked B, a lot were undecided as to which category to book. In our WhatsApp group yesterday 5 different people called the embassy for clarification. Guys asked to be clarified on what category to book and the lady responded if you have first class to second class book A, B is for third class. People still inquired about the compulsory scholarship box that must be ticked that they don't have scholarship, and she said again just book A. Folks have decided to cancel B and book A.
It's possible the scholarship tick stuff might be a programming glitch. After hearing from them directly what excuse do you have for not booking A.
If you have doubts call the embassy directly and hear from them. Stop second guessing.
+234 1 280 9966 GERMAN CONSULATE LAGOS A programming glitch? That reminds me of our days in MMM, guiders were busy using some flimsy excuse to confuse the participants when their GH were delayed. For your information, the girl that answered your question is not sure of what she was saying. She was just guessing and you were buying into her guess In the first place, is she the consulate officer? Why must you take orders from her when the information is crystal clear in the website and when you know that you dont have any scholarship and still ticked that you have scholarship and claiming its a programming glitch . Well, be ready to prove to them how it is a programming glitch. They need your proof on that day not your stories and speculations. Anyway, July ist coming. Una go understand better by then |

Adeniyii2017:
Ode... Who told you I picked option A? You see my friend, in this life, nothing is sacrosanct! Learn to open your mind to learn, it won’t hurt you. Good night boy!! I can bet you chose category A, you are only trying to defend your mistake with long episodes as if German embassy will be there for stories. They simply ask. If you know you are in category A this side, category B that side. Then for those in category A, present any of the proof that shows you are in this category. Mr Adeniyi might try to prove smart by saying that the information wasn't clear enough, then they laugh and throw another bomb question. But you ticked that you have a scholarshipMay I please see evidence of your scholarship |
Travel › Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Basalt(m): 11:48pm On May 24, 2019 |
Adeniyii2017: Well because English is more widely spoken than German, hence international student will more likely understand English than German which is very obvious. Their main aim is for you to understand what you are being taught in class and every other thing is secondary. What you are being taught could be in English or German. And because less people speak German, it’s important to ask for certification.
Now, you’ve raised some key point and im partially open to them apart from the fact that your over sabi is obvious and you don’t know how to argue intelligently.. it’s not a competition bro but then it’s fine. I hope we will be able to confirm on Monday as someone rightly said. I think you are the one doing over sabi here because you keep typing epistles to justify something that is obviously wrong. That is oversabi attitude and height of blind argument. I guess the scholarship part is also not seen by you? Do you have any scholarship or live in Abuja? How will you defend that part when they ask you in Lagos? .. I know you will obviously come online to defend that part too with another long epistle |

Adeniyii2017: Just calm your nerves before you start jumping into conclusions...
First.. why was it not written directly?? Why bracket!?
Second, how could german embassy favour courses that involves DSH over English taught courses. If at all, it should be the other around.
Third, have you gone through the website itself, there are many English errors eg “Life” instead of “Lives”
Now this is my view, it’s in bracket because there are courses that does not require DSH, for instance mine and there are no reasonable reason to favour DSH related courses over non DSH related courses. It should be both. Lol. ur question is very funny but let me try to answer it.... You asked why they should favour those whose course will be taught in German over those whose course will be taught with English. Have you forgotten that Germany has German as their official language? Please read below some of their requirements too for category A holding a TestAS certificate with a standard score of 100 - 130 holding a very good B-1 language certificate from the Goethe Institute (90 points and more) or holding a good B-2 language certificate from the Goethe Institute (80 points or more) orNow my question is, why didnt they also include those that have B-1 in Toefl or IELT since you are of the opinion that priority shouldnt be given to those whose MSc will be taught in Deutsch. Anyway, na July everything go settle |

Adeniyii2017: I get your point, but you have completely ignored the word “also” which means the degree can be from any course “including” DSH course related admission. You guys are just reading another meanings to this because majority of you cancelled category B and rebooked with category A. Anyway, the day of interview will decide but mind you, they said Also a DSH course-related admission to the master's program that sentence in bracket is an emphasis. the word THE is refering to that masters degree which you have. example The masquerade THE HEADMASTER which means , you already know the headmaster and the masquerade.....This is common English na |

holding a bachelor's degree with a grade of 1. Class - 2. Lower Class and being accepted for a master's degree *(also a DSH course-related admission to the master's program)* or PhD study in Germany or holding a scholarship from a German institution for a study or a PhD in Germany or holding a signed “Aufnahmevereinbarung” / hosting agreement concerning your research fellowship with a university or research institute accepted by the “BAMF”

At this juncture, I will advise everyone to start learning Deutsch. You must not attend German class. Once you have Internet enabled phone, you can learn Deutsch for free to atleast basic level before travelling to Deutschland. Youtube is there and it's free Applications plenty and it's free Materials plenty and it's free.
Na you do yourself if you no want learn. See you guys next month |

Gaddafithe2nd: Brother, calm down it is not as easy as you think. Working and studying is not easy, especially when the country is not your own country. I have a friend in Germany, I could remember he was given an assignment to summarise a book of 500+ pages. He called me on whatsapp to help him summarise 3 chapters (about 150 pages) on the last day of submission. I had to help him out, because if he doesn't do it, he would have lost some marks. Thank God we both finished the assignment. I am not saying this because I helped him, I am just telling you, it is not that rosy in that country.
I wish you the best. That's nice point. You know what? I am not actually harsh as many people think. I am using psychological and controversial approach to get people talk in details on the areas I want to learn from. But ofcus, many weak minds will start talking trash. Atleast I have known the following things.
1. You can't easily make 10,000 euros as a student in a year 2. German educational system is tough and requires more dedication 3. To score an A requires, you get 95% 4. To pass a course, you need to score 50% 5. Bavaria education is tougher Etc |

Adeniyii2017: Guy... how far you now?? You are derailing this thread. You have every right to your opinion, just keep it to yourself. All courses are not the same, and it’s not the same school. If I may ask: What course did you study?? Geology I guess. You are just generalizing and not making any reasonable sense. These people you are talking to are already in Germany and have first hand experience. You don’t even know their course of study or the kind of school they are currently in. Don’t worry, when you get there, go make your A parallel in your geology. Please, you don’t have to reply this guy.. he’ll understand last last, if he gets there. This is my first post on here, just been observing because I believe I can’t give real info yet until I get there this winter. Please don’t stop giving out them info, people like me really appreciate. Thank you. Lol, if this is your first post then you seriously have issue, sorry to say that

heybaby12: 50 is what you need to pass. Which is 4.0 Alright. In Nigeria, some lecturers are sadists and unnecessarily marks people down to feel like a demigod. Hope there is no sadist lecturer in Deutschland? What's the secret of scoring high in German exams, is it the same method of reading a notebook or textbook and writing down what you have understood?, if that is the case, then I have absolutely no problem because I am used to such methodI love A (1.0) lining up in my result sheet like chains, I hate anything average score |

willy2000: I know say you be first class efico, no problem. But you should also know that 70% is an A in Nigeria but here you need above 95% to get 1.0. Wish you all the best anyway. That's too high na. What of B, C and D scores? What's the minimum score needed for a pass? 40 right? |

dobeespen: Lemme give my 2 cents worth of pointers. I know most people are all caught with the "Germany is a STEM country and you have to study STEM to have a good chance of staying". While that is true, it is NOT the whole truth. BWL (Business and Economic) programs are just as useful and might I add very popular here as well, and provided you plan well, you will succeed in this country even if you don't have a STEM degree. And if you feel like you must study IT sha, a lot of business courses these days have an IT component; for example "Management and Technology", "International Business and Infomatics", things like that.
For me however, the on and off love story I've had with IT has come to an end. I currently study Management and Technology at TUM where the technology part is ONLY 30 percent, but even the 30 percent no be here oh. There are certain classes I have to pass at the end of my second semester which I failed after writing one class exam once and the other twice. So I am transferring next semester to a full international Business program and leaving the IT part biko. Every mallam with im kettle.
Work wise, I will say I have done well for myself too. I got a job at Primark and did it for 3 months. In my second month, I started searching for werkstudent jobs, knowing that I was only in my first semester and my knowledge of German is basic. I luckily landed a job at a small market research firm and quickly left Primark. We lost a major client at the early part of this year and my firm was forced to do budget cuts, and so that prompted me to start searching again. Started searching in March and didn't get called for an interview till late April. Thankfully got the job and I start at Allianz Munich next month working in the HR department.
This German waka go teach you humility oh. I didn't really have any issues with getting admission but the amount of job rejections I've gotten ehn (Like Pompido rightly mentioned), you just need patience and humility.
Don't LET ANYONE tell you you cannot get werkstudent because your level of German is low, or that you have to study STEM to succeed in germany. Don't get me wrong it's harder to find jobs, but it is definitely possible, and in my field too.
One thing that I haven't done and would advise everyone to do is to learn German. I always tell myself I'll start next semester and then next semester comes and well... life happens LOL. I will get around to it later sha cause my new course makes it mandatory to be proficient at B2 level before graduating so mans has no choice. Personal development is very important as well, so if you're not the STEM type, try to take online courses in Excel, SAP, Project Management and other business intelligence courses. If possible, get a certification as well.
Anyway for Fabcol and anyone else interested, TL;DR: Stem isn't the only path to securing long-term stay in Germany. Nice one sharing your experience. Das ist gut |

willy2000: Bro, I would advise you to be humble, failing a course in Germany doesn't mean you are unserious. Wait till you come, then you see how different and intense it is to study here. Besides, overconfidence is a dangerous trait to bring over here. Once you fail an exam, it is difficult to pass it the second time without sacrificing something in your life, and if you fail the second time, the pressure of losing your student status will make you lose concentration when studying for the third trial.
Saying you have never failed an exam b4 ....hm no comment. I just hope you don't fail any when you get here. Well, I wont blame you much. You no sabi who you dey follow talk shaa. But please, check my previous posts, I never said that anyone who failed any course in Germany is unserious. I simply said that anyone who failed one particular course three times is not only unserious but highly incompetent. Lets stop painting words here. if you fail a course once, its understandable but failing three good times is the height of incompetence and unseriousness. Its not overconfidence, its simple fact and you know it |
