Fuckkthemod:What a motivational story. Please from which book was it curled from? |
ifykris22:Please be specific, not all overseas. They treat here |
Lol. I studied Geology, did business and now doing my masters |
MZrapper:What is wrong with you? Is that all you have to say to someone who has 284 in JAMB? Please stop this life of bitterness and hatred. It's not gonna do you any good. |
SeunTheOwner:WHY mentioning my name? |
Annie939:Just imagine the gibberish this one is vomiting. She didn't remember the child before stabbing the husband and now the court should remember the child before sending her to the early grave she deserved. |
drnoel:I actually shared for others to be aware and beware of your pessimism. |
berrystunn: ![]() |
Thegamingorca:Why do you think Germany should be last? |
berrystunn:The addition of the percentages you gave sef doesn't sum up to 100% and you expect someone to take you seriously with your poor mathematics? |
drnoel: drnoel:You guys should disregard drnoel's comments. All he does on nairaland is jumping from one abroad thread to another causing troubles and discouraging people from traveling out. Check his previous posts and you will understand what I am saying. The more you read his posts, the more you get discouraged. I am yet to see any optimism in any of his posts, it's always pessimism. Listen to him at your own peril |
Jacknn:I wish you the best |
ekrizz:There are oil companies here. One even recruited last month but honestly speaking, Germany has drastically reduced using Non renewable energy for now till 2030 or thereabout, what they use now is renewable energy like wind energy etc. I think your profession will be of higher demand in America, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Russia, Norway etc but the opportunities here for oil workers is very small unless you plan to move to another country after your studies. |
wemicoal:For where? I didn't get anything bro. He later called and told me to pay 100k upfront to finalize the process and I vehemently refused telling him that even 10 kobo I nogo pay until I get employment letter and confirm the authenticity by earning first salary. He angrily cut the phone on me... That was the end. I am currently doing my masters in Germany. |
drnoel:The last thing I will do in this world is to seek answers from someone who is not straightforward. |
AIIyIic:Dankeschön meine Schwester |
I have to say this important thing and I beg you to pay attention to it to avoid stories that touch the heart. Everybody is specially created by God. Some are gifted in analysis and they will do very well in any course that has to do with analysis and logic, some are gifted in calculation and usually do well in courses that have to do with calculations. Why am I saying this? Before you change your course to any other course, check yourself very well. If you are not good at Maths, then think twice before changing to Engineering field, computer science, informatics, etc otherwise you will likely not graduate. Getting admission is one thing, its always easier to get admission but finishing the course is another thing. From my research, most people that fail to graduate in Information technology and engineering fail because of series of Mathematics attached to those courses. Those already in Germany will agree with me that Germany too dey overdo in everything they do. Quality is their watchword and you must be ready to do things well to be certified here. So it's better you choose the course you know very well you can do and do very well. I have seen those who abandoned their MSc programs and started afresh in another course because of the high demand for that particular course in Germany, only to get stuck because of esoteric Mathematics too difficult for him and by then he has already dematriculated from the department that originally gave him admission thereby making him float like a planktonic foraminifera. I repeat, if you are not good at Maths, stay away from Math oriented courses in Germany. For those that wanna go into information technology, you must not have a computer science degree. You can learn coding in Bootcamp or online. Create projects with that language or go for an internship. Nogo chook your head for new department wey go use Maths frustrate you. Computer science in Universities are usually theoretical and Mathematical with some basic programming. |

drnoel:You are indeed very annoying honestly. With all these series of posts, you are yet to pinpoint any area where he is wrong and then correct it with what you think is right. People like you are the reason why most people don't comment here again. Please this thread is for information purposes. Hit the nail on the head and stop beating around the bush |
When I told him how many hours I work he shouted and warned me seriously to reduce the hours otherwise I won't develope enough for professional jobs within my 3years of studies (unless I am a Robot) |
Happy New Year everyone. During these days of silence, I was able to meet with many experienced people who were all students before and now comfortably working. One (29yrs) is working in NRW as an environmental scientist on a salary scale of 52k per year and he got the job within 4 months of graduation. I asked him for his secrets and he told me that I should worry less about the course I am studying and focus on personal development. That even if I am studying how to cut cook food in Germany, I should learn it well and be able to hold a conversation in Deutsch. He also mentioned that I should try all means to learn any programming language related to my field. He said for my field, I need to learn Python/Matlab and how to use it to analyze data very well. That by now I should be aware that I should be working on getting at least B2 German certificate before graduating and if possible convert my Nigerian driver's license to a German driver's license. He said many things all centered on self-development. |
Linzo:Es tut mir leid (I am sorry) Ich bin hier (I am here) |
Dopekidd:Sorry for late response. I am just coming back now from work. Age is still really by your side. The first question I will ask you before I proceed to giving my own advice is this. Do you have passion for computers? Are you good at logical thinking, mathematics and programming? Going into a particular field is one thing, graduating is another. I don't know about Bsc programs but in msc lecturers don't hold hands. If you go into any area which you are not good at, you will end up frustrated out especially if you go into main universities (Germany also has university of applied sciences) also, you can go for masters in any of the GIS courses. GIS is also IT |
Zabiboy:Too much exxageration |
Jueds:It's extremely hard if not impossible with such a bad start. |
Jacknn:My brother, it seems you don't understand me when I told you earlier that I don't have access to the email I used to register on nairaland anymore. I don't like saying the same thing over and over again. Ask whatever you wanna ask right here and I will answer you to the fullness, by so doing, others will benefit from it and also share their own opinion. This is my confidential account and I don't wanna reveal any personal details linked to it (I have to say this one more time) |
LOSKYXANDER:1. Yes, you are correct, there are little opportunities for Geologists in Germany, but there are still opportunities for geoscientists here 2. Visa processing is usually 6-8weeks after interview (depending on condition) then admission to study in German universities usually comes after the deadline of application |
Blissbath:I already gave the cost estimate in the last or last 2 pages. Check the previous pages for the total estimate |
Dopekidd:Ofcus. My friend in another city has visited many countries including UK, America and Canada. But I am yet to visit another continent apart from Europe |
drnoel:You see why it appears I have problem with you? You just type without carefully reading into the points others are making. NOW LET ME REACT TO THESE POINTS YOU MADE ABOVE 1. seeing Nigerian and how they live and suffer If some few Nigerias (illegal immigrants) live and suffer abroad, is it now enough to say one shouldn't travel abroad legally? Do you know how many Nigerians (legal and educated) that are suffering in Nigeria? 2. Some years back my general manager (wifey) was looking for a help around the house but it was not easy to get here, something that one may have easily gotten in US, UK or Naija. First of all, I thought you said you have never been to USA? How did you know that it is something that might easily be gotten in US and UK? Thats apart, is it now enough to discourage people from furthering their education abroad or will I say Germany simply because your wife didnt get help around the house? 3. I went off work and did the house help stuff myself,....lol. I am new in Germany and single too but believe me, once you have the money you can employ Nannies to take care of your baby or find a way to do it. There are many family people here with children and they are not complaining. Now let me shock you all. Do you know that German government pays money to you for every child you have? just for the maintenance of that child (about 200 euros a month for each child) if you have 3 children, the government gives you over 600 Euros monthly to assist you take care of them, I mean even if you are not a citizen sef provided you are in Germany. Can Nigerian government give you a penny to support your children? 4. But remember this, not everyone is entitled to travel out or entitled to leave and work abroad. Did you see any part of my post which says that we must all leave Nigeria? I kept on saying it from the onset that if you are doing well in Nigeria, there is no point leaving but if you are not doing well, then leave and try somewhere else. That has always been my point. Please always read other people's point very well before responding |
noeloge82:You made a nice point. The bills here is really much especially when compared to the bills in Nigeria but we are talking of what remains after spending money in a month. For instance, with my single salary last month for night job, I cleared all my bills including TK insurance (because I am less than 30) and bought Samsung s9 (German version), wireless headset, etc and have some small money remaining in my N26 account, this is what I COULDN'T have done if I was still teaching in that private school earning less than 30k in a month. Imagine if I didn't buy all these things, I will save it in my firstbank account just within one month of working. This december, I am planning of sending 100k to my parents for Christmas celebration, I know it is a chicken change but I dare not try it when I was in Nigeria earning peanuts. Infact I have never given my parents money since I was born not because I didn't feel like but because I couldn't give what I didn't have. Don't get me wrong, there are people in Nigeria that can afford samsung S9 four times every month with their salary but how many percent? If you are among those few people Nigeria is favouring then you can stay and enjoy but if it doesn't favour you, my brother my sister find your way out LEGALLY if you can, don't listen to all these people discouraging you, the fact is that you stand a better chance of making it more if you plan yourself well, I can't lie to you guys. |
drnoel:Apologies if you feel insulted but you started it bro. What do you mean by Ur eyes will open soon enough and u'd have to rethink Ur plans in your first comment? Are you hoping for me to rethink my plans or what? I am really pissed off when people claim to know it all even knowing the future as if they are God. I hate that post with passion and you should learn how to be constructive and mature in your posts. That abroad didn't work for you doesn't mean it won't work for others. You really need to have an open mind |
