Health / Re: HIV Prevalence In Nigeria By States! by basher(m): 9:32am On Dec 22, 2012 |
ola_pluto: I find this stat amazing. Does this say anything about promiscuity in some states? No it doesn't. Unless you are assuming that all infections are due to sex alone? Are you telling us that Nigeria has the best practice and controls for - blood transfusions, injections, transfusion procedures, barbers & hair dressers etc? Stop this silly propaganda unless you can prove what percentage of infections come from sexual activities! I'm not even going to go into the validity of the data, especially in a country like Nigeria where everything is political. 1 Like |

Bliss4Lyfe: Dbanj popularity with out Jazzy is not the same. This song would have been better produced by Jazzy, not video but music quality. The kinds of super hits dey produced in the past, dat u don't get bored of listening to. Oh well, good things must come to an end. The two, both Dbanj and Jazzy are losers. I don't recognize them as hits anymore. The direction of dbanj's music is being dictated by the powers that be (aka record labels). It doesn't matter if don jazzy is still producing for him or not; the powers that be will pick the type of song they want him to release. Actually, I'm even surprised that they let him release a song like cash-flow. Still asking who did the beat? 1 Like |
Romance / Re: Why Are Men No Longer Pursuing Women? by basher(m): 1:08am On Dec 22, 2012 |
mimifonwon: i think its because some women have become for sale for highest bidder and sex is easier to get from easy girls, so the men dont feel they have to chase anymore, all some of them have to do is flash money signs and these hungry babes just spread open. No morals+ no respect for self+ easy life= easy catch. And dont generalize on men and women, but personally if i like a guy I like to be the one to dine and wine him, maybe its my controlling nature, but I dont find a guy that comes after me attractive, its better when i am the one that approaches- Personally, then if the guy fancy me then we can go from there. Exactly! FYI, a man who relentlessly chases a woman these days is called an obsessed stalker. |

Haven't read all the comments. Men (not just black men) do not "pursue" women like that again because times have changed. Women now vote, run companies, become presidents,..the list is endless. Women now know what they want and a lot of them do the chasing or at least give a very big green light! Do you really want us to go back to the bad old days when men with medalioned hairy chests forced themselves on women with impunity and then turned around to say that they asked for it? 2 Likes |

footreja: What is wrong with you? Do you expect everyone to like the song? Do you think your silly comments or likes will influence the perfomance of the song in the market/charts negatively or positively? Meanwhile, if dbanj himself happens to stumble on this thread, don't you know that it is the critizing comments that he'll concentrate on to see if he could adjust himself for improvement? Do you think he has time for faceless NL azz-kissers? I'm sure he has more than enough azz-kissers in real life!! Team Dbanj ko, team mavin ni; go and get a life!! 3 Likes |

ogugua88: I don't think Nigerians need to sing in a language common to all tribes. Osadebe and Fela are celebrated world wide, including in the US, and a lot of people don't understand what they sang. A lot of Flavour's songs are in deep Igbo but he's celebrated all over Africa. Ask an Angolan wetin Flavour dey sing. They'll tell you "I don't know but he's Mr. Sawa Sawa". When people hear good music, they'll listen to it irrespective of language barrier. You are missing the point here. Osadebe sang highlife music and fela did a genre of afrobeat that is totally different from the "afrobeat" of psquare and wizkid. Besides, fela didn't go too tribal with his lyric as most of his popular songs carried a lot of pigeon English in the lyric and narative (zombie, lady etc). Also a sizeable amount of fela's popularity was down to his activism, his lifestyle and the antics of his live shows. If u want to be a traditional, Fuji, juju or highlife musician, then be so and sing in the language that goes best with it and you'll be respected for your uniqueness and originality(and would probably be given a title in your tribe and perform in loads of parties, and with the right people behind u, go international). On the other hand, if u want to be a "commercial afrobeat musician", then u have to appeal to the masses. What do dbanj, p square, wizkid, tuface all have in common? They keep it urban and don't go too tribal. And please don't start me off on gangam style. You know its a one off just like macarena and Les ketchup before it. No wonder they paired him up with MC hammer to perform in a recent award show; and he didn't get the irony of it?! 1 Like |

Series22: Is there any anytin like twittershop? You hit the nail on the head there. Any naija musician that goes too tribal with his lyrics does so at his own peril. To do that, your song has to be very unique with killer beats and an infectious hook (eg gongaso, ashawo rmx, pakurumo). You have to decide wether you want to " represent " your tribe(who will abandon when u fade anyway) or if u want to make music that all nigerians ( and other africans) will understand and enjoy. |

Dis Guy: Siemens said the same thing to Yar'adua They say this things with the best of intentions. However, by the time they see the reality of what is on ground in Nigeria & the demands of government officials who view them as cash cows (ask Richard Branson), they quietly withdraw hoping no one will notice. Let's hope this will be different. |

Mrs..Chima: Speak for yourself o! The women I know wear skimpy dresses with plunging neckline and nothing underneath (both top and bottom). They then strut around the house a-jiggling & a-wiggling, picking up imaginary things from the floor in front of me, clearly expecting me to rise to the occasion and grab something. |

pro01: This is ridiculous. Referees don't get punished for making BAD decisions, fixing matches, ruining clubs' seasons, and causing untold misery for millions of fans, gamblers, etc.. Yet, a player (Mikel) gets punished for genuinely believing that a referee abused him? ? ? For the umpteenth time, he was punished for threatening the referee in the locker room. |

They (chelsea) almost ruining that poor man's career and profile cos of 1st class ignorance and stewpidity displaced by mikel.U av the F right to drop a case,if and when u want to. Let's call spade a spade. The ban is small(he makes more than dat in a week, check his new contract pls). One idiat said cos he's a blackman abi, pls is evra white and suarez black?. Refs over there are well trained that they can't be so frustrated to alter any unprofessional word and to tell u, atom sorry mata and ram he rest will not give bros ode a kobo. Even if the case against the referee was dropped, they still would have done mikel for threatening the referee which is what the fine and suspension was for. And to my knowledge, d case againt d referee was brought by Chelsea FC. |

Clemzy16: I actually saw this coming. Was mikel actually expecting anything different?! Mata was wise enough to redraw his law suit against the referee. While Obinna Michael Mumu was st[u]pid enough to continue pressing charges for something he didn't hear. He said RAMIRES told him the referee called him a monkey, but we all know that Ramires is brazilian. He's not good in english, probably the referee said "Shut up mikel" and he thought the referee said "Shut up monkey". Also, mikel wasen't the only one that filed a law suit againt the referee, the entire Chelsea FC team encouraged him to; when the case was in court, did they come out to give evidence knowing well that mikel didn't hear anything?! NO! It would have been better if Chelsea FC was fined instead. That's a white man's game for you. Now that he's banned i belive they're going to sit down and watch. Sorry mikel, but next time you have to play wisely. What are u on about? Did u read at all- "Chelsea's John Mikel Obi has been given a three-match ban and fined £60,000 by the Football Association for threatening referee Mark Clattenburg". From what I heard, he stormed into the referee changing room (an area that players are not allowed to go to) and used threatening language against the referee. Even if they were able to prove that mikel's allegations were true, mikel would have still faced disciplinary charges for his actions. In that case, the mitigating circumstances might have had a deeper effect on the outcome of any charges brought against him; ie probably an even much lesser punishment. |

They have massive stores in all the areas dominated by Africans such as - Peckham, barking, tottenham, thamesmead, woolwich - you get my drift. bilms: Hello fellow nairalanders, Rubbish! You never see condemnation!! The UK government is CONSTANTLY attacked by the various forms of media, forums, blogs, talk shows and individuals, just to keep them on their feet. UK citizens are the worst critics of their own country and govt (and I'm sure its the same in other top countries). They do not accept "they are trying Jare" or "they are chopping money but at least they are working". Nonsense! It is only in Africa where people get sentimental about criticism. They'll say "if u don't like it go back to your country/state/town/village", "is your country/state/town/village any better?", "our own is our own", "when your brother was there, did he do any better?" or "I know this is a machination of ----- people who are hate our people and are jealous of us". The so called leaders are no better as they see critisms as personal attacks; did anyone force u to contest for election? 6 Likes |

He replied that well this no be their land , they only here to trade and that residents and traders in Sabongeri/ Nomanslnd are the only people paying btax in the state, yet they are abandoned. DINGO: All the tribalists are busy here having their daily fix of ethnic bashing trying to prove (to whom I don't know) that pot is more black than kettle. This is precisely the reason why Nigeria is the hell hole it is! I refuse to believe that you guys (tribalists) are a minority in Nigeria. You guys are actually echoing the minds of what your tribe actually feel. Even the so called forward-thinking educated progressives amongst you, harbour these hateful stereotypical feelings. You only have to push them far enough to see thier real colours. I really don't see what you guys are boasting about because Nigeria has been and is still in a deep deep mess. I don't see tourists or investors queuing up to come into Nigeria (no eediot should tell me we don't need it), in fact their govts actually warn them about travelling to Nigeria. And you clowns are busy here arguing over whos poo is smellier?! |
