PoliticsRe: 'Massive Re-construction' Of Enugu/PH Expressway (Pic) by bashr8: 1:06pm On Jul 31, 2012
Pukkah: Is Obasanjo now the benchmark for performance? Is Obasanjo the one now in power? It is a pity the dismal level to which reasoning has sunk. Men!
i guess you didnt read the post the igdiot aljharem made, why did he bring igbos into this , well since he want sto take the route of tribalism why didnt his yoruba brother fix the road while in office ? if he did it wont be that bad, it is on record that obasanjo never touched that road 8 years of his tenure despite the pressure that was put on him about it.
TravelRe: FG Evacuates About 50 Nigerians From Syria by bashr8: 1:00pm On Jul 31, 2012
they need to also start vacating people from nigeria cus as it stands now theres no difference between nigeria and syria, infact syria ranks higher than nigeria in all indices. and for those wondering who are in syria ,it is mostly medical doctors from south west , south south and south east plus few northern muslims attending quaran schools and there are actually way more than 50 , at least 300 hundre nigerians live and work in syria.

alj harem: shut it, u might even be one of Beaf's ID or another Biafran Bigot just supporting anything silly
your very stupid , what do you mean by that , dumb yoruba boy, what did obasanjo do during his regime? why didnt tribalism allow him fix the roads plus the ibadan road you people are crying about? anumani
PoliticsRe: 'Massive Re-construction' Of Enugu/PH Expressway (Pic) by bashr8: 12:41pm On Jul 31, 2012
that road have always been a mess since i can remember starting from IBB to OBJ to Yradua, i think we need to investigate where the fault is from , is it that FG GOVT DONT RELEASE FUNDS FOR IT Or some people pocket funds released for it, secondly someone claimed that construction is going on in some parts can they take pics next time so we can see what kind of construction they are doing cus these contractors can be funny at .

edicolove: Now its getting clearer who the 40 man laptop really is. I said it the other day that El Rufai setup an Internet squad and quickly went on the Internet to announce that GEJ had set one up. Why would anyone want to discredit what so many are saying from all over Nigeria. Why are they attacking with such venom and fierceness? Is it because they really love Nigeria? GEJ is far from getting there and we can only pray he gets there for the benefit of us all. But the way some try to bring down the whole system is becoming really irritating. Only a paid propaganga squad act this way.
my brother the thing tire me oo , i only stated that their improvement in my areas and people are saying their own situation yet this people are soo angry and bitter , i dont even know what their problem is. thank God this is an annonimous forum they for don kill person.

pembisco: wetin bring chrstians 4 dis mata! Nawao!Anyway, my view about this whole power-improvement matter is that you don't judge with what happens in your tiny area which doesn't make up to 1/1,000,000 of areas in Naija.
I just liken to the kind of prayer I hear some Nigerian Christians say. that, even if fuel were to go for a 100
thats why this thread was opened to know which area is getting light and which areas is not , it can be that difficult to keep the thread on track.

PoliticsRe: Something Is Wrong; Power Is Improving by bashr8: 4:34pm On Jul 30, 2012
chucky234: And you dumby said power has improve when govt cannot provide a simple power transformer to serve a district, most of the power transformers serving most streets were bought by residents of those areas and I stand to be prove wrong.
some places state govt, federal govt, local govt supply transofrmers . we can open another thread to debate that.

another sadist so we should shut up if we see improvement in our area just to give GEJ a bad name ? some areas might not feel it yet but for others that are feeling it this is the first time in decades they are having constant supply of electricty , if that is not improvement than i wonder what is.

chucky234: One week on,one week off and you dumbly call that improvement with the billions already spent?
transofrmer she is talking about supplies streets ,avenues. places that are over populated require bigger ones, its left for them to get a bigger one which she indicated they are planing to , why cant you people ever see anything good.

dont derail this thread we only want those that are either getting light or not getting light to comment and tell us their location.
PoliticsRe: Something Is Wrong; Power Is Improving by bashr8: 4:10pm On Jul 30, 2012
chucky234: Here we go again, power has improved?
Less than 1000MW in 24 months for a govt that is ranked the most expensive in the world, that to me is disgraceful and we should be ashame to applaud so govt.
South Africa with 58 million people generates 45,000MW of electricity while Nigeria with 168 million people generates 3,800MW of electricity yet we spend far more on power annually than SA and Brazil put together while Brazil currently generates 100,000MW with 201 million people.
A senator in India earns in fourty nine years what a Nigerian senator earns in a calendar year, our president receives N2bn annually as food allowance which tripple Obama annual total earning yet we eulogises such a failed govt instead of holding them accountable for every failure they record.
Barth Nnaji has forsee his failure that's why he has targeted 2020 to achieve 35,000MW knowing fully well he will not be in office by 2020 so he can fault the failure on continuity
Has anyone try to find out how much this govt have so far spent on power in the last 24 months to achieve 580MW of electricity, you will be amazed how much this govt spent without befitting results.
all this one na cry cry , we are more interested in knowing where theres improvement and which areas are still having blackouts.we are waiting for more people(that reside in nigeria not junkies like you and kobojnkie)to comment
PoliticsRe: Something Is Wrong; Power Is Improving by bashr8: 4:05pm On Jul 30, 2012

you still dey wait for documents grin

edicolove: I have said it over and over that kobojunkie is a saddist. A chronic cynic. She has no joy. And she likes to spread the pain and gloom around. It is good everyone is beginning to see how she attacks any and every symptom of joy and progress. She wants to always remind us how doomed we are, like we actually need any help on that. Lol.

Just pick up your phone and call anyone in Edo state and ask how the light situation is and they will tell you they are enjoying power up to 16 hours regularly in many areas and near 24hrs in some areas. Same for several other states in the south. Delta is not as good as edo though. Especially Asaba. Some parts of Lagos are enjoying good power. Others still have a long way to go. There are many reasons for the disparity. In lagos for example, there is still rotation of power because the power given to Lagos is far inadequate. But then some areas have priority over others. I don't know what criteria PHCN or whatever uses. In some areas, their transformer or step down stations might be bad. All these are different factors. But overall, power has improved greatly. The installation of prepaid meters has surely impacted the power supply. We still need to put more pressure on the authorities though. They need to cancel the N500 maintenance fee and they need to curb the excesses of their staff handling the prepaid sales and installation. The NERC BB pin is 28F1B6C5.
exactly i dont understand what is wrng with her ,each person is only saying whats happening in their area yet she want to force sorry and sadness down our throat embarassed it will also take more time for some states to get it right cus we all know there are lots of illegal connections

Beowulf: @ OP! Seriously I thought I was the only one that noticed! Mine is on now for about two weeks. I don't even know what to do with the light no more. In an ironic way, I am very suspicious of this PHCN guys or whatever it is they are called these days.
dnt ditch your generator yet ,we still dey watch them with one eye , you know naija can be funny grin.

Kobojunkie: Again . . . enough of the ramblings . . . I am posting what I claim are the facts as of yesterday. You show me evidence to counter the facts . .. not fill my head with useless babbles. . .
imagine this imbe-cile, show you facts of power improving in my city?? are you for real?
PoliticsRe: Something Is Wrong; Power Is Improving by bashr8: 3:45pm On Jul 30, 2012
Kobojunkie: This information is freely available online for the whole world to see. Your Government put it there. So if you have a problem with location, then you are more of an eejit than I thought.

Are you certain I am the one who needs psychiatric evaluation here when you are the one DENYING THE FACTS on ground so you can push your claim one more post further? Last I checked people who live delusions rather than reality need to be checked first . . .

Again . . .
go and sit down ,am sure you dont even know that most places are having pproblems not because of govt but because of hoodlums that sabotage and vandalize transformers, even telecom companies but heavy security where their mast are located. before you burst an artery or vein get it into your head that power is improving and GEJ whom you hate soo much will get lots of points from that , infact he is about to make history
PoliticsRe: Something Is Wrong; Power Is Improving by bashr8: 3:41pm On Jul 30, 2012
mkmyers45: i'm sorry but not in my part of the country...do hope sincere and sustainable development is truly being put into the power sector....this said improvement has happened times without number and voila we are back to square -1....If the government's interest towards power is genuine then we need not to shout..
which part of the country do you stay , are sure your transformers are working? did you try calling phcn to enquire why some places are improving while yours is still the same.
PoliticsRe: Something Is Wrong; Power Is Improving by bashr8: 3:32pm On Jul 30, 2012
Kobojunkie: What does POWER IS IMPROVING? mean? I can dig into the Nairaland archives, from as far back as 2010 to pull up threads such as this one for you. Of course people will FEEL that power is improving when they have more hours of electricity per day, however when you consider the facts, even an eejit will pause to rethink the statement that power is improving.
see this mumu so na u wey dey outside naija go tell us wetin dey happen , some of you need psychiatric evaluation , i know your kind ,you never see anything positive. abeg go park make better people discuss other issues.
PoliticsRe: Something Is Wrong; Power Is Improving by bashr8: 3:27pm On Jul 30, 2012
Kobojunkie: How can electricity in the country have improved when

a) Transmission problems have yet to be tackled

b) Generation has fallen back down over the last couple of months. It is estimated to be about 2700MW on average per day, today. How can that be an improvement from more than 3900MW we were told of about December of last year

na jujuhuh
undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided

If your goal is to rejoice that that power supply has improved(a la increase in power rations to your area at this time) in your tiny are of your state, go right ahead and do just that. However, when you want to speak of Power at the National level, at least visit the facts rather than come off sounding like another of the many empty-brains out there who feels that as long as they have electricity in their home, all is well in NIGERIA.
It would benefit us as a whole if we outgrew this selfish way of analyzing issues and the situation on ground.

Yes, blame @Kobojunkie for telling exactly what the government reveals is the case in the Power situation. Yes, @KoboJunkie is bad for reporting the facts. I guess the few Nigerians who have electricity and are able to Post on Nairaland as a result are right whilst the Nigerian Government(right there in Nigeria)in charge of the power situation is wrong, and @Kobojunkie is to blame. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin
dont get high blood pressure, power is improving at least for most parts of the nation ,whether we have really arrived or not is not the issue but this is the first time for God knows how many decades we are actually seeing improvement in the power sector that means someone is actually doing something about it, at least i have not heard the sound of generator for weeks.
