My interview was quite brief and interesting. Wifey and I went to the consulate dressed simple in shirts and sneakers. Tension was quite high.

The lady V.O was just dashing almost everybody while the man was refusing everyone before us but one. He didnt even put up a smile. In my heart I was praying to avoid him and i guessed every other person was. The only person he issued a visa was a young girl and she spent almost 20 minutes with him.

Unfortunately, my prayer wasnt answered- we were summoned to his stand. My heart was beating, my throat was dry because of the crazy harmattan.

We: Good afternoon

VO: Good afternoon, so what do you want to go and do in the U.S

Wifey: To have our baby

VO: where?

Wifey: Atlanta

VO: how long do you intend to stay?

Wifey: 10 weeks

VO: You look quite young, you guys married?

ME: yes (flashed him my diamond studded ring. Last time i wore a wedding ring was over a year)

VO: interesting, so how long have you been married?

Wifey: two and half years.

VO: any letter from the doctor?

Me: yes sure (passed him letters from Dr Soyoola and receipt of payments to doctor and hospital)

Me: i have email correspondence from Gwinnett Medicals here too if you insist.

VO: no thats fine, can i see your statement of account.
(I had a huge bulk that couldnt pass under his demarcation so i divided it into half and as i was passing it over to him)

VO: and what do you do for a living?

Me: I am a. . . .

VO: wooow! (Smiles for the first time), you mean you . . . (Starts talking about my business)., You guys make a lotta money.( scans through the statement)

Me: (smiling now too) yes we do and i own the company.

VO: that's great. That means you must be very rich.
(VO, wifey and myself burst into laughter)

Me: Yes I am ( still laughing)

VO: i tell you what, you can pick up your visas on Monday.
(Turned to my wife, passing her 2 typed sheets)

VO: i want you to study this and make sure you follow the instructions accordingly when you traveling.

Me: (talking to wifey) shey u can hear oo

VO: naah! You have to listen too. You impregnated her so you have to lead her all the way.
(VO, wifey and myself burst into laughter again as we turned to leave)

Wifey: did you say Monday? (Every other person that were granted visas were told Tuesday, so she had to re-confirm)

VO: yes Monday

We: alright thanks (smiling)

And that was it.

You can fund surebet through cards and agents and they also offer agent withdrawals, also lowest stake but if you are the type that like bonus, forget them. They dont offer bonus for first timer and even online customers. They give bonus to shop bettors only though they have very good odds.I think the only advantage merrybet have is fast withdrawal and good odds.
They offer bonus on every winning ticket regardless of how it is played- whether online or retail.

they don't, cos the constitution regards betting as gambling, and the constitution is vague abt gambling. If anybody is collecting any thing from bookies trust me it doesn't get to the government's purse
FG Operating licence for lotto is N50M exclusive of taxes, Lagos state charges N200M for lotto and N10M from operating bookies and N20M if you are a new bookie. For bookmakers- Rivers state charges N2.5M per year, Osun State- N1.2M per year, Ogun state N2.5M per year. . . . . I can go on and on for each state. . .

All these charges are exclusive of taxes and good causes which is between 2.5 to 5% percent of your monthly sales varying per state.

All these monies are paid into the Government's accounts and are monitored by the federal and respective states' Lotteries Boards and Revenue Services.

ibson99:
On the issue of cutting costs, I think its past time we remove constituency project allowance from the remuneration of our lawmakers, its completely useless cos most of them don't do any project and that alone is over 50% of their exuberant pay.
and on generating more money, its time we looked at how to tax gambling in this country, most bookmakers are making huge money from Nigerian gamblers and they don't even pay a dime in taxes. Britain is already talking about how it wants to generate 1b£ from its gamblers, we can too.
Knowledge is key!!

Try find out how much each state and the federal govt make from bookies in

taxes, monthly good cause charges and annual operating license fees.

You'll be shocked

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by baslone: 5:00pm On Dec 09, 2014
Can someone help with this?

Trying to schedule an appointment at the embassy. After filling in all required fields, it has taken me to a page with heading - "DropBox Confirmation"

Also displayed on that page is - "First Available Appointment Is Thursday January 8, 2015."

It's kind of confusing- I have no business with dropbox plus is "First Available Appointment Is Thursday January 8, 2015." a confirmation of an appointment?

Weird.

Hello Ayosho....when did you get this? I got Drs fess at $2000 no discount and hospital at at $4000-$6000 with a 40% discount. I better call to clarify as I dont want to be slapped with a nasty bill after. Above is with Dr Oduro delivering at Gwinnett.
You had better do ooo- bill has changed.

"Normal vaginal delivery and remain in our facility for 2 days incur charges from $8,000 to $10,000. Patients who deliver by caesarian who remain in our facility for 4 days incur charges from $15,000 to $25,000."

@baslone, for SSN just type in 111111111. Then d home phone numb if you have someone living in the states, you can use theirs. Otherwise call them and tell them you're finding it difficult. And that if someone (a hospital staff) can help you. They will ask you to send your passport details and the address you will be staying in the U.S and they will do it for you. But make sure you follow up.
Hope this helps.
Thanks a lot. Will give it a trial in morning and get back to you.

AyaSho:
I doubt it, anaesthesia bill is not inclusive in d 8k.
If you can link me with a doctor, I will be glad.
I have sent you a pm.
Dr Soyoola charged $2,849.00 plus a discount.

Nobody wan answer me for accommodation close to Gwinnett, for Georgia. sad Una no want make I give birth in yankee eh? My American baby sad
You don go far sef....

I am still struggling to complete their pre-registration Form online.

It seems the form is actually built for US residents only.

1- SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER- Would have skipped it but it is a compulsory field to be filled.
2- HOME PHONE- Space allocated in the field for this does not fit for international number.
3- DATE OF BIRTH- it keeps indicating this message- . "INVALID DATE OF BIRTH". I called the contact number on the website yesterday and I was told to change my browser from Safari to another but I still get same alert on Firefox and Chrome.

The thing tiya me.

With all this issues, I don't seem to figure out anyway to proceed. I don send email to them- if nothing sensible, off to Chicago be that!!

I am looking at Gwinnett too

Seems the cost have changed- 2 Days Incur Charges From $8,000 To $10,000 for norm delivery- 40% discount Uninsured Patients.

Anesthesia bill is separate and Circumcision is an additional 250.

I am going ahead with it though.
