There is nothing wrong with APC enlisting the services of an American consultancy. Let no one spin this into another useless allegation, Nairaland is already full of such lies, we don't need another. |
Children as young as 4 years old have been seen parading their PVC in those areas.Lies. See how easy it is to fabricate a lie? APC and PDP should stop these fake and malicious allegations. Earlier on we were presented with the lie that Jega will be replaced on March 1 - that was an APC lie. Now we are hearing how Jega and Buhari are planning to rig the elections; an obvious PDP sponsored lie. Many NLanders without thinking accept any one of these lies and spreads them about because it fits the biased viewpoints that they have. Both parties are insincere, they will keep manufacturing lies and allegations so that unsuspecting people will fall for it and support their cause. That said, I won't be voting for anyone who forcefully took over power in the past and is still unrepentant about it till today. ![]() |
The FG should stop sponsoring pilgrimages altogether. It is a waste of funds, those desirous of visiting Saudi Arabia, Israel or the Vatican should do so with money from their own pockets. |
alaoeri:I beg to differ. Jonathan has been a large disappointment but I don't see the sense in replacing him with a tyrant and ex dictator who has so far shown that he is unable to fit constructively in a modern world. I will not participate in rewarding an unrepentant coup plotter by voting him into office. Jonathan must go and yet the people who are in a position to make this happen offer us someone who is worse than Jonathan? No thanks, I won't support this. |
This doesn't happen come March 1, then we will conclude that the OP is part of a grand propaganda machinery |
alaoeri:That's fine by me, I just hope he isn't replaced by the coup plotter and ruthless dictator that is Buhari. |
alaoeri:Oh really? Going by Buhari's refusal to apologise for the coup d'état that he spearheaded in 1983 this wouldn't be a bad thing then. |
alaoeri:Coup alert! Meanwhile it seems every statement from Buhari himself keeps reinforcing the negative images people have of him. |
Those who were saying this matter should be taken to court will now wish it wasn't. This was a very avoidable drama if only Buhari was forthright with the whereabouts of his certificates. Whatever damage this does to his campaign, if any, he should know that he provided the ammo to his distractors. APC should learn from this and in the future not allow itself be weighed down by such unnecessary matters. Field a much better candidate next time. |
francawilson:Seriously anybody that doesn't like Breaking Bad should have their TV viewing rights revoked for at least 2 years, there isn't anything like one man's trash is another man's treasure here. Some people just have terrible taste. They need to be forcibly corrected.I kid. Or not. ![]() |
lafuria1:Exactly, that episode was the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back for me. So Penguin managed to place a call to the car crusher (what are those machines called?) operator at the last moment, and the operator foolishly fell for his threat?! Maroni didn't notice anything till Penguin made his escape? Unbelievable! In fact if I think about it the whole series started going downhill after the 4th episode or so. Very predictable show. James Gordon and his partner always arrive at the nick of time to catch the bad guys, the mobsters of Gotham are easily deceived and the police force is surprisingly ambivalent; one moment they are shielding criminals the next they are arresting them. I've always been a fan of Batman so that's probably the reason why I wanted to see this show. What made it different was that it started from a timeline we hadn't seen before - when Batman was still a boy and the villains weren't fully formed either. Alas the show has started becoming way too predictable to be enjoyable. A shame. |
If only APC had presented someone other than Buhari to contest against Jonathan this election would have been a walkover for them. Defending Jonathan is tough but when compared with Buhari, Jonathan has more chances of coming out successful. This is a fact that many Buhari/APC supporters do not want to face despite their chants in cyberspace. |
All these comments from people about how they love Buhari's composure, his gait and the color of his teeth are ridiculous. At one point I was wondering if I was reading from a North Korean forum where citizens are forced to describe Kim Jung-Un in flowerly language or face death. Let's keep it real people, Buhari is not some deity that descended from a holy mountain to liberate our souls, he is a human being like all of us. All the hyperbolic descriptions are nauseating. |
Been watching Gotham and I must say the show is turning out to be a silly show after all. It was obviously made for kids, what was I thinking watching this crap? |
Even when a party does something that is glaringly wrong its supporters come online to construe it as right. Thats just plain disingenuousness. People should look beyond the APC /PDP rivalry and see that many of these actions border on questions of character and with the kind of display one sees here one has to agree that a great deal of the Nigerian populace is already lost. |
PapiWata:Jakumo is that you? |
CFCfan:Good. You say the US govt can prosecute, as in try in a court of law, not ban. This only relates to classified material not views that the govt or govt officials consider embarrassing to themselves. That's a huge difference. |
I doubt Buhari said this. OP this report has falsehood written on it. |
barcanista:What are you really saying? So we should follow these nations even in their missteps? There will always be troublemakers in the press but any government that is sincerely committed to democracy and is busy with the provision of good governance will not have the time to go about banning and curtailing press freedom. |
When issues that point to the dictatorial tendencies of Buhari are brought up his defenders say that we are in a democracy, that he cannot do any of these things. While that is true to a certain extent we should also recall that in Russia, where they supposedly now practise democracy, Putin has carried out similar oppressive acts. The Russian press today cannot offer criticism to the government without attracting a punitive response. It goes to show that even in a democracy once the leaders don't subscribe to the proper tenets of the democratic system, that democracy can be reduced to a quasi dictatorship where the oppressiveness and restrictions abound albeit beneath the surface. |
So Barcanista are you saying like Buhari that the press should be banned or stifled when they overstep their bounds? |
His handlers are afraid that he will do more damage to his campaign by engaging in the debate so he has been advised to abscond this one. That's the only rational explanation I can come up with, why would any sane politician not want to debate about his plans and manifesto with other candidates before the whole country? When GEJ ran away in 2011 we all condemned him for it, how much more should we then condemn the man who claims to be better than GEJ but is repeating the same folly! |
Azo:GEJ's no-show during the last elections was very bad, disgraceful even. But how can you comfortably say that Buhari's response in that debate was nice and eloquent? Buhari answered questions poorly showed inadequate understanding of the issues facing this nation. Buhari is a poor orator, but what is even greater is that he does not have any concrete plans on how to lead this nation save for jailing and arresting people. |
People keep referring to Buhari's involvement in the 2011 presidential debates. I hope they have actually watched it and seen the poor performance Buhari put up in it. He displayed a poor grasp of the problems facing this nation and didn't offer any tangible solutions. |
"To deprive a people of volition in their own political direction is to turn a nation into a colony of slaves. " That is the crime that looms behind Buhari to this day. Add to that his unrepentant attitude about his dictatorial regime and you have the one major reason I do not support Buhari. |
sincerenigerian:His performance in that debate was nothing to write home about. His responses were hardly insightful or well grounded. It was a poor performance. |
If he loses there is that unsettling business of baboons and dogs being drenched in some type of liquid. I hope we spare them, those animals never meant anybody any harm. #Baboons&DogsDeserveLifeToo |
jaybee:Pay back time indeed. Every sane individual condemned GEJ for boycotting the debates back in 2011. It was disgraceful. So for Buhari who claims that he is better than GEJ to repeat such a shameful and cowardly behaviour under the lame excuse that the organisers are pro-PDP is doubly ludicrous and embarrassing. |
Caseless:So by repeating that shameful act of 2011, Buhari isn't acting cowardly? Be honest with yourself. |

But u c?some say is d best of d best while in some other's POV,its over rated but at d end of d day,u lik wot u lik.
