1daboi: y'all should take it easy on how you mention money here. Do you know the strength of the man? Did you also tell him how some drivers sleep in the streets to get those dashboards? Did you tell him the number of hours a driver can put everyday? 15, 16hrs a day? I don tire to talk. I know people that followed dashboard and regretting bitterly. Imagine bolt weekend bonus Friday 5am - 9pm on Saturday Complete 26 rides Stay online for 25 hours Abeg how many hours do we have in a day dt u will give 1 day & 1 hour driving in 2 days to get bonus of 5k I can bet it with u dt drivers are clearing d bonus steadily.

ndubuisi2021: All these your narration that fetched you 5k doesn't sound so sweet in my ears. It shows that for one to make 5k on ehailing, you must peel your legs.
I was buying roofing sheets the other day at Bogije, Ibeju Lekki area. Men, those guys with their rickety trucks netted close to 30k the few hours I spent there observing them carrying bought roofing sheets for people. I was billed 9k with abeg to drop my roofing sheets at Sangotedo, a journey of less than 15km. It made me wonder how notoriously stressful Uber and Bolt can be before one can earn reasonably. It made me concluded that it's really not worth it if I have to run around like a rabbit round Lagos to earn money while an artisan will be in one place a day and earn three times more in a more defined way.
I think it's better sometimes, to put the stress level and many other things in perspective when talking about earnings. This hustle is crazy and weird in many ways. No man deserves to be in it for the long haul no matter how much you earn. Take what you can take from it, have concrete plans as you are in it and leave it for good. I came late to the show today ooohh, Cos I’ve been busy running around like rabbit I don reach house now, sleep no go gree come... You will be hearing imaginary gbagan gbagan bolt alert in ur brain.

AOB1: Please guys I need your advice, I am a government worker and my monthly salary is #55,000 but I usually get some allowance anytime I went for an assignment, infact am presently in one assignment right now and my allowance for this assignment is #65,000 so right now all my earnings every month for now is #120,000. but the problem am having right now is that I don't like the job because of the risk in it (You can lost your life at any given time) and also the job is not 100% guarantee because you can be fire at anytime, I also don't have time for myself and my family and the government did not have any proper plan for our future. So now am thinking of buying a car so that I can be using it for online cab such as Uber and Bolt because I have discussed it with some of my family and friends and they said doing Uber and Bolt is more lucrative(financially) than my present job and I am going to have time to plan for my future and also the risk in it is not as high as my present job. please note that I will be the one to be driving my car. Please your advice is urgently needed please you can also ask me any questions. Please my brothers may God bless our hustle. Pls don’t resign your job except it’s not a professional or technical job ( I mean job dt ur experience will count, dt your next employer will need recommendations or reference from your boss) I will not advise anybody in Nigeria to resign job that you can put on CV for this hustle even if they are paying you 50k per month stay in your job wether you be teacher or secretary no resign at all. Do ur job and hustle by side, cos in next 3/5yrs your experience will help you to change jobs or If you want to relocate your experience matters. This driving will only put food on your table and small money to pay bills but nothing on paper. Risk dey here too, u no read say dem kill driver last week. Dis side no HMO no pension no life insurance. Na God hand we Dey. I repeat don’t resign at all, buy your car and hustle by side. No allow dashboard deceive you ooh. You can’t net 50k, on Your first 2 months driving your own car in Lagos, if you do law enforcement will collect half cos u must fall prey, bolt will dash u 1st warning blocking. Danfo will collect one side mirror. Until 3rd month before you go begin see small change. |

kanuisagoat: Summary is that, some drivers give riders poor ratings even when they have no issue with the rider. So any rider can decide to return the favour to other drivers. Those ones will be wondering why their ratings dropped.
And you know some riders think that they get promo when they have good ratings Let me give you an instance. I picked one mbong guy, we gisted, chatted like old friends just seeing after a long time. D guy told me to wait for him and take him back did all stop over laughing and enjoying trip. Only for him to say I should drop him at costain and I was going to park at the bus stop opposite national theatre, guy said no I should stop at d round about he will quickly come down. I saw Lastma and police around and one or two busses others parked at the park. I no gree, I told him see Lastma and police their tout can be anywhere to jump out. Got to park, d guy was paying cash so I quickly end trip gave him 5* in his presence. D guy brought out phone while I was trying to give him change and gave me 1* and was making comment then realized I saw it, he clicked ok and jumped out. I was shocked I couldn’t talk or move for few minutes then I say that his money dropped while he was rushing out. Should I go after him and give him his money ? Should I call him on phone and curse him then tell him about d money? So I waited maybe he will call and ask if I found his money. But d evil in his heart no go gree. I will just go and drop it in bolt office, let him go there, but as he never call, I might use it to cool off my ratings dt dropped. Back to d matter, From that morning till I got tired I was giving all riders 1*, I don’t want to know if you bad or good. But later stopped. So some times you just transfer aggression on next person. |

Babadee1900: Stay safe guys When you hear news like this you will want to mark some places danger zone. Car snatching and killings is too common in that area. With the driver going offline, the app coy can deny him or says he wasn’t driving for them. Thank you Babadee. Why drivers no go lean ? You driving among mad danfo & yellow busses drivers, You keep an eye on okada aiming to scratch you. While dodging pot holes, bad roads, one way and google map like some dead roads. Once you sight Lastma, VIO, touts, police, airport, your brain go begin do 4times his job. Then you battle with rude, bad riders, jazebel daughters ready to provoke you and give u 1*, is ur AC not working?, come and carry me in my Parlour. Still same you will be playing mind games with App coys by filtering trips and canceling to avoid stories and being blocked. Even to buy fuel ur eyes must be on Meter, once u loose guard, dem rob u. The list is endless But dis thief snatching cars and killing part is demoralizing.

So can you see reasons to why some good bolt drivers like myself and pope191 can have a bad rating that will eventually lead to a block?
Don't criticise he that is hanged on a tree.
Sorry if i mistakenly quote you o.
The truth is same way we have bad drivers we also have bad car owners. Yes I was part of the people boasting about good ratings though I didn’t criticize you directly but I joined them to yab you. My rating was superb until my return to hustle dis year, I saw my ratings drop from 4.89 to 4.65 in a single week. I started hustling for 5* smiling and doing my best then ratings dropped to 4.62. Thank God I listened to Gentlelife50 and that guy dt said bolt is just putting drivers on their toes. I ignored ratings and pursued bonus 100% so dt when bolt block me I will move to Uber and inDriver. And guess what my ratings jumped to 4.70 by itself without telling anybody to rate me. northbird: @ Baz 001. You r right. Some drivers r reckless. Was at barracuda Beach one day, you know how that place could be flooded,
You have to practically drive on the fringes of the contoured and badly undulated roads to avoid the muddy pool and to protect your hub.
Of course, my ac was already off., I was fuming underneath, cos if I knew, I wouldn't embark on such a trip. Still thinking of how to manoveure this long stretch..
Boom, another driver whisks pass us , full ac on, ploughing with reckless abandon into the pool of water.... I just concluded, this r d kind of guys that make it tough for people looking for rentals.
I mean for godsake, how can you plunge into this deep water with your ac running.? Haba mana ! Na rental drivers they make money pass during rainy season. One day there was an heavy rain but surge they everywhere. While I put off App and stay in Dominos wait till everywhere is dry. I see coro boys moving Lagos inside flood and very happy. 2hrs later I saw at least not less than two Corolla broken down on the road. Let me not spill more before partners will think any broken down car is caused by a reckless driver on rentals. |

Godfather10: Lower then 25k, and full maintenance with the price of foreign exchange, you dey try o, for me 35k with full maintenance is about right, as per calling drivers to enquire about their welfare, who does that, I’ll rather run my business like a Hertz or Avis, strictly as a car rental company, l see no need for family discuss it complicates things, More grease to your elbows Bruv, you sound tough at times but l am seeing a soft side to your character 20k Hmmmmm. Heard from Ipwood, not seen him for a while, he is quite an interesting and delightful character, By the way do you import Honda civics for sale Then they will run your car strictly on rental basis, no human face just drive am enter akute and satellite inside flood and las las you change drivers until you sell d cars. Sure Dru have seen a lot of drivers and know by experience that you should pamper drivers dey pamper your car. I once told a lady I can’t drive further cos u road is bad and my car is low, guess what she called her friend dt bla bla , her friend told her don’t worry the Uber dt just dropped me will come and pick you at the gate wait there... 2mins later Corolla show d girl dropped and follow coro guy go and She said is it not same Toyota mshewww? SMH, owner go change shocks and leakage tire. While I chup 1* and keep protecting my shocks cos of 1000. Or the ones dt will carry Generator, cooler, rice, meat, kerosene and drinks inside booth and back seat to owambe. I dey pity car owners but when I hear 35k rentals. Then ur car must suffer for it. |

Godfather10: THE PROTEST THAT SEEMS TO WORK IS WHEN YOU TAKE THEM TO COURT OVER LABOUR LAWS, THAT SEEMS TO WORKS BEST, DECISIONS HAVE BEEN MADE BY THE COURT THAT FAVOURS DRIVERS , I AM NOT SURE ABOUT PROTESTATIONS ON THE STREET THOUGH, THOUGH AS YOU SAID IT MIGHT SEND A SIGNAL, DO YOU ALSO FILL IN THE JOB SATISFACTION MESSAGES THEY SEND, IT REALLY WORKS AS THEY WANT A HAPPY COMMUNITY OF DRIVERS, THEN FINALLY DRIVERS CAN SEND IN MILLION OF COMPLAINTS OF INCREASE IN PETROL PRICES AND THE NEED TO INCREASE FARES, SIMPLE PROTEST NO DEY TO WORK Very good suggestions sir, if drivers can do this it will go a long way. I support any Way of sending a message to them rather than discourage an idea even though it might not work but from their other people like you will come up with what will work. I was at bus stop when I over heard a lady pricing okada. Okada man said 400 , lady said 300 okada no gree las las she agreed on 400. And I go blow go person house wait 5mins, on AC, stop for road to by guguru & epa, enter bad road to end trip 500 naira. The way drivers are enrolling everyday, I doubt if they will want to increase fare knowing fully well that drivers can never agree. |

These ones will want to go on one day strike and expect a miracle to happen
If we are being realistic, how many drivers can afford to go on strike for more than one day? When hunger wire them, most will return to the streets.
For this reason, I will not be joining any strike action.
