pope191: Pearl I'll say it again. I am open to what is real and will always watch out for folks not making mistakes that can break them. Do you really think people come out here to share their problems? You can't be selling the high side of business and not adding the low side to it. You will eventually mislead people. When I say folks on rentals between the space of 2 to 6 months to do self evaluation if they have 300k in their accounts yet. I never said folks with car or those on rental can't become owners eventually, don't type twist my point. I add majority because I could already think thro what your d as* wit only one way thinking would say.
You said if I save 2k per day, I'll be saving 600k in a year. Damn! That's for me to get toks of 3m now,it may take me 5 years to get that. What gave you the mind set that it won't have gotten to 4.5m in 5 years. Nigeria go better abi? On a target of 10k you willingly imposed on me you to make yourself sound sane. I'll still eat, feed family, pay rent, bills and still have money in the bank. Weldone! Sanusi of Bolt, regulating drivers account balance.
Your neighbours gate man? Una no get gateman for Una compound? Since you live in Adebowale, you should know Ekene selling cloth at Ekene's place abi? When that dude started out, it was very small. I am putting it to you Pearls you can't tie Ekene's shoe lace today. When we talk about real money? Abeg rest. Back to una Musa, why don't you kindly state how long it took Musa to be on rental, how long has he own the phantom car, how much did he buy the Matrix and how much is he paying for rent within. Remember all these is within the space of a year and months. Pearls remove hand for lies nah, how do you find it effortlessly to tell lies like this? Even if Musa is saving 4k everyday, how much is he even paying on the rental? 4k for 365 days with a day off will give him 1.3 plus in a year A man with wife and kids. Shey, Musa no they provide for em family atall? He still does his gateman job and keep tab on ehailling while his employee opens the gateam whenever they are back, because Musa is always on the road.
Pearl! That was how you said people looking for fund account are paying 300k monthly and one will spend like 8 million. I just look you laff, you think going to USA is just by money abi? OK! Your matter don tire me, I rest my case.
Edit later, I no b nairaland driver, get sh*t to put together No make me choke with laugh here I dey fence dey look as Johnnybegood12 and Abuja Viking that spend more time on side hustle than main hustle will soon join pearl... #team bolt is easy week in week out, no downtime...

Pearl1910: It is well Bazoo...I like the aspect u say it's God connect. I have a soft heart for sad stories that's why I no go drag this matter again. But just know it's not everybody that have the opportunity of being retained in their PPA, or get a multinational job even after having MSc and multiple certifications. Maybe u should be reading your post again before u press submit to make sure u aren't passing the wrong message. God will grant us all our heart desires. Same way it’s not everybody that had opportunity to be born by black Afro musician mother or grow with parents paying for their school fees, guiding them, connecting them to uncles and colleagues or paying their first house rent. If we look at opportunities and background I’m way behind 80% of guys here. So we don’t keep dragging this matter. I’m not encouraging everybody to stop driving and jappa. I’m only motivating people that see the job as stop gap and have certificates/work experiences and not getting jobs in Nigeria to look outside Nigeria and sell whatever they have or loan to move to the next level else they will still be complaining about no job in Nigeria next 5years. 2months here two of my guys asked me to get a remote job and stop stressing myself going to work... that I can do two jobs remotely, they are earning x4 of what I earn. Pls are they talking down on my job/status or motivating me to step up I will rather have people around me telling me to move up and not relax with crumbs, than pity party telling me ohh, it’s not easy , just keep managing crumbs, one day e go better, at least you a better than gala seller. I’m not talking to everybody oohhh. Only my guys doing Uber as stop gap. To others driving as full time and looking at building fleets of cars I respect and salute your business. We are all hustling to make money. |

Pearl1910: Bazoo...u are like Buhari who has suffered before but because he is now privileged has forgotten how people without silver spoon survive.
If this Jappa was that easy and simple as u r painting it, I don't think there will still be people in Nigeria. Everybody who desires it would have jappa by now.
U had money in ur account, u sold land, properties, and car, u had people that borrowed u money for you to raise minimum 8m for that ur jappa level. If u didn't have those savings, properties or people to borrow u. U will have to pay a bank or agent 300k monthly as interest (sometimes in advance) for them to borrow u the money you need to travel. How many average Nigerian has these privilege or access. Even after having the knowledge of the process? Do u think everybody with a certification and work experience has traveled out? Even if they all have d desire....the main prerequisite for traveling out legally is ur dollars man, without that, u r just day dreaming. Rich men and their children don't wait for covid window or immigration opportunity to travel out o.
Alot of people do the things they do because there is no money or even good jobs but they must survive. There are hundreds of thousands of graduates who have never got the opportunity to practice for one day. When u got a job of 50k, was it from that salary u used to do certifications that cost upto 300k each? So I am sure u had support, not everybody has such. Many even send money to poor parents and siblings in the village from meager salaries. Not everybody is lucky to have job progression like u did, in a normal society that's the way it should be, but this is Nigeria. But still in this Nigeria, people have started from nothing, but small small they have been made organic millionaires, not until u travel out. So I think ur approach should be advising and not cancelling, encouraging and not demeaning because u haven't even arrived yet. Your level today is a taboo for other people. So how would u feel if someone kept telling u everyday that u r slaving and killing yourself working day and night, running 3 shifts just to make N2m a month. That all he does is chill in his yatch, travel, Casino and club at will. The point I am making is let's all be grateful for where we find ourselves, most important thing for a man is to have a vision/goal and aspire for greater things in life. As we achieve one goal, we move to the next. Like u said some people have stayed in that abroad with their degrees and certifications but could only get cleaning and POS jobs. So change that attitude. It took dragging from Dru before u opened up to how u jappa but even at that it's ur choice.
Quit comparing, quit discouraging, quit demeaning. Just advise people who desire where u are how to go about it, tell ur story if u must, encourage others and bear in mind its different strokes for different folks. Opportunities, circumstances, conditions, background, exposure and connections counts to success in life wherever anyone finds himself and in whatever he/she does.
Peace Hey God ehhh... finally una don allow pearl drag me. In as much as I agree with you and sorry if I sound demeaning or discouraging others. 95% of youths in naija are on the verge of jappa it just never click. Don’t forget I was in this hustle, moved Lagos upandan to survive... so I’m not like Buhari & not looking down on people. See... I was an ophan at 6yrs old , my dad died 3yrs and mother 3yrs after. I got scholarship to further my education, Graduate and posted to Lagos to serve Nysc, I was retained where I served in Lagos earning 37k for 3yrs. I walk to office, starve to save for my I.T certification and exams. Bro let me not talk too much, I never had any uncle anywhere supporting me... ONLY God I got a new job by God alone in multinational, I could remember when I was to travel out on project I didn’t have a passport, my Mgr was shocked, he asked me to go get 24hrs express Passpor so i can meet up. the coy paid for my passport and visa to go on that project. Bro let’s not go memory lane, we all have stories to tell. But mehnn my background humble. My point is to the guy snrman1 that had options of fake job (supported by parents/family) and asking about HP. I will rather he stay at home and look for job or pick up rentals than HP= slavery . I’m used to not having any uncle , I’ve been fatherless and uncless all my life. God alone is my source and Godnecctor make Uber/bolt a stop gap and never a career ... I stand on this point from day 1 till now Because as he thinketh in his heart so he is... Think, work , pray yourself out of bolt driving. Let me go and sleep, I no condemn anybody I no look down on you guys (real hustlers) I will rather drive Uber than beg one uncle for money Please make una forgive me |

GiggsTk: Like you said...IF... There are definitely conditions like you've highlighted where it might be wiser to take a job than take a higher purchase, so you're right, where the job is available. Also, my contention was actually the word slavery....it connotes way more than the hard work required to own a car via HP, which I won't consider as slavery. While driving might not be the ideal work experience to earn a better pay at another jo, it could serve as a springboard for funds for other business...
Come to think of it, a lot of the successful businesses out there were started by people with little or no education....or professional experience.
Note; I support getting educated, and I also work in a professional setting and aspire to probably relocate someday, but there are times I envy people who have the flexibility of running a business or doing something for themselves. I totally agree with you 100%. My term Slavery in HP was to snrman1 , Meaning he will be bound to HP contract (slave) for 3years if he should get a better job or quit he would loose money. But if it’s rental he will just drop car and leave. Hp - slave 3yrs- freedom after full payment |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by BAZ001: 4:14pm On Jul 05, 2022 |
GiggsTk: How about those in a full time job, who work 5 or more years, and can hardly afford their yearly rent, no savings, and too little income to be able to establish any side business or investment?
Driving definitely is hard work, but with proper planning, if a person does that for 2 years(during which they are still able to meet their daily needs-rent, feeding, clothing etc., from proceeds from this venture)and owns their own vehicle, that can easily become a source of income to them. Even if they don't want to drive again at that point, they could give it out for rental.
I wouldn't call it slavery The job you described above is better than driving HP IF.... capital if ? IF it’s a job with experience and growth not cleaner or shawama seller. Cause we like comparing driver to gala seller or cleaners. Why because number of years of experience matters ? I started a job after Nysc earning 37k , after 3yrs I moved to another job 220k and promoted to 550k. I’m still quoting my years of experience with referrals till today. I have professional certificate to back them. So compare that to a young fresh Graduate that picked a car for HP , 3yrs + 2yrs moving Lagos upandan? Let’s not forget I’m referring to snrman1, asking about HP I will advise he picks a job of 50k and get job experience / growth than to drive HP for 3years. Work 3years, do certifications/exams and jappa. Cause abroad will value your years of experience. The only people that should be driving are people that 1. Just lost their job and needs to feed and clean up before next job or business. 2. Fresh graduate seriously applying for jobs but tired of seating at home 3. car owners who need extra source of income. Side hustle. If you like keep adding to your fleets of cars every December with the rate of inflation , increase in car parts and shitty fare by bolt, Na same hand to mouth. Make una no allow people crucify me for here ooh |

Glithronix: HP and Rental are both long thing, wetin person go come do to own a ride of his own when he's not financially buoyant to buy outright? Well, I just feel a man sacrificing 1 and half or 2 years to own a car is not much or unreasonable, as long as the ride would definitely become his. And whether Rental or HP, person wey dey use car go maintain and spend on it. Whether HP or rental, we as humans go still have health stunts that would require we take care of ourselves. HP or rental still better than duping people around or involving in any illegal deals, or even roaming around the street when there's no other option to own your own ride. If there's any other sure legal way, guy man go take am. Man wey no lazy go chase him goal by the means he has before him. And who dey do HP 3 years? Any HP wey pass 15 months, or max patapata 18 months, I no fit put my hands, NEVER! I fit pay a good and nice naija used car within 12 months if I see. Who 36 months help?! That one na suicide mission. 24 months self, I no fit put my hands. Inside life. Much respect, boss. Bro don’t get me wrong at all, I’m only talking to the guy that got fake job and asking if he should take HP. And I said HP is slavery... To every other person hustling without a choice , it’s the best thing that can happen to young guys. I’m not talking down on HP and Rentals I’m only talking about a better option (car owner) and that’s why I keep emphasizing that I respect guys that have been driving for more than 3years. Best - car owner Better - Hp / rental Worst - seating at home /roaming round street.

And also in the night surge and no traffic cos (ikr, mowe $ abule egba drivers would have gone home to sleep) You will burn more fuel and energy driving in traffic during day without surge. Glithronix: As in. Very unfair of them. What I will advise rookies like me be say, if you dey chase daily bonus, abeg no start driving late. Start driving early in the morning maybe by 7-8 am to ensure you quickly meet the bonus requirement. Bolt use night driving to punish stubborn drivers cos they know say night hustle no fit dey easy like during. I've noticed them during my night driving. But it's all good sha.
Much respect, bossman. You are missing the juicy part of the day without traffic, if you start driving by 7am. Start 5:00am in surge locations, target Lekki phase 2/chevron from mainland. From lekki (surge) begin find Ikeja(airport) or Ojodu or ajao anywhere in mainland. Before 9am/ traffic you done gross 10/12k. You can then go to eat hot rice or akpu , sleep or be disturbing people on nairaland, while you waiting for any long trip to location against traffic. Don’t play with 5am to 10 am & 4pm to 12 midnight week days. Weekend (Friday 9pm to sunday midnight, no rest at all just be moving mainland - island) You will make money easily week in week out ... BUT your life will never remain the same Much respect sir .... |

tunlapapa: Mr man, there is a reason why this platform is called a forum. There is travel section, sexuality section, business section ... If any information is needed, kindly go to the right section for your needs. A guy came here to encourage drivers how he left driving and improved himself through data analysis, and also travelled to the UK. Some here kept asking more questions from him which he wasn't obliged to respond as the motivation he gave was enough, while the smart ones like 73o9 dug up his post to know more about the data analysis. You come here to sell your oil, talk about your cars, but you can't go to travel section to discuss such. So leave the guy ! You have been here for long, have you ever talked about how someone can leave this tranches to a better place? You have been here for long, have you ever talked about how someone can start importing cars and oil? You have been here for long, have you ever talked about how you are enjoying the benefits of your parents being the slave citizens?
So lead by example! Slave citizens... damn... https://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/pwnt.gif |

Felicity001: Bad belle people always hovering around like night vultures.
Guy if you do not have anything good to say to a young man who is also struggling just STFO!! And look else where my friend!
Our one and only BAZOO1 will not hear it neither will anyone who has not gotten their feet well grounded will "hear am" in Jesus name... Everything will work to their favour and God will make out ways for them just like he did for me!!
Amen! Amen!! Amen!!! Amen ! Amen!! and Amen!!! To you prayers. Please don’t let that our abroad uncle derail the thread just leave him in his imagination. At first he said I’m in Canada claiming America, why ? Cause in his wildest imagination an Uber driver can’t relocate to America ; or buy low mileage car (v4 Camry Engine ) You bought Benz, he told us it’s right hand converted just to discredit the Benz. But doesn’t know that it’s condition (Nigeria unemployment) that pushed 99% of graduate to be driving Uber. He doesn’t know our background, potentials and that it’s a stop gap. He compares us to gala sellers in traffic... Please no trigger him. Let peace reign https://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/danny-oh-no.gif |
