So what was the point of that your religious testimony? Lol Nigerians be doing the wrong and still saying "may it end in praise". Praise to who? God or satan? And for you to write that line regarding POF shows you don't fully understand the process. However, I wish you luck in your application and pray you get a lazy VO that would let you and the hisband's deceit fly.

If I say I'm not tired ehn I'll be lying. I don't know why it's hard for Nigerians to do the right thing? Before we say Jack, God will have been involved. Why won't people mock?

Emmasonic4me:

Buhahahahahahahahahaha...

Individuals interpret differently, that's partly why reading scores varies in IELTS. Funny enough, if they get a ban, she will just hibernate and won't come here to share it.

As in ehn smh. We won't hear from them again. I don't know whether they've heard that was the last draw or something. I can't understand why someone will knowingly misrepresent and be looking for loopholes upandan.

We used Ethiopia airline, Flight was scheduled for 1.10pm out of naija. We left the house at 8.30am and got there in good time, we had 11 check in bags (paid for 1 extra bag), 5 hand luggages, 2 laptop bags and 3 children trolley bags, hehehe, me sef tire for the load(family of 5).

All our bags were 30kg except 1 which was 20kg cos customs removed my palm oil (nonsense) my palm kernel and coconut oil made it thru, (maybe cos they were in smaller bottles)

Flight was on time, children were excited to be moving to a country with snow and made out plans of how they would play in d snow (too much cartoon) lol. Inflight entertainment was ok, food (rice) was saltless but we chop am like that, before hunger go kill purzon above sea

This is the end of my story, thank you.

Errm just to add as regards regulated profession. Lawyers am sure you all know you don't need WES. It's NCA that evaluates your professional degree when you want to do your Bar exams in Canada. IQAS is still your best bet.

Is this true for lawyers even in Ontario? Please lawyers research your intending province of settlement and requirements.
All the best!

I get your point. That's a different reason for evaluating both. Uncle Kunmi5 said evaluate both to increase your points and chances of ITA. Now that is wrong information.

Yes I agree with you and as I said he needs to read and understand.

Just to add some perspectives to the ECA debate.

If you asked me: Should I evaluate both M.Sc and B.Sc or just M.Sc?

My answer to you would be it depends. If you are looking at the short term, i.e. you don't want to go through the stress of applying for Nigerian B.Sc (especially for guys with foreign M.Sc like myself) and just want to enter the pool as quickly as you can, then by all means evaluate only M.Sc (I'm sure you are aware you won't be getting extra points for evaluation both B.Sc and M.Sc as someone wrongly posited earlier). However, If you are looking long term, then I'd advise you evaluate both (especially if you are in a regulated profession) as you "might" need it for licensing and other job related stuff.

My experience: A colleague of mine that we started the application together evaluated only his M.Sc and I made the "mistake" of evaluating both. We both got our COPR last month and started planning for Canada. Since we are both in a regulated profession, we realised we needed to apply for membership of a professional professional organisation (APEGA in my case and APGO in his case). All I had to do was upgrade my ECA to course-by-course evaluation (with both my degrees) but in his case he was missing some courses (which he did in his B.Sc) on his M.Sc only evaluation and to be eligible for an EIT (engineer-in-training) status, he has to sit some exams (with fees of course). He called the registrar and he was told he'll get a waiver for those courses if he evaluates his B.Sc as well to show that he has taken and passed those course. He tried to apply for his B.Sc transcript but SANU is currently on strike and he's stuck while my application is under review.

Now in hindsight, my "mistake" turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

Apologies for the long rant but like I said I wanted to offer another perspective (with personal experiences) to guide others when making their plans (long and short term).

Happy holidays and good luck to everyone.

My point exactly! Lol. I'm in your friend's shoes lol. Unilag is on strike...
A lot of people don't come back and say this part lol

Meanwhile, I even wanted to register for a short course to fast track everything. Guess what? I still need ICAP for that too. Also, they only accept WES evaluation no IQAS/ICES etc

Honest question : What will evaluating both achieve? More points and pay for two transcripts instead of one. You don't use the evaluation for anything other than immigration. So how sway?

Honest answer : its cost £17 to order both transcripts and he's had to upgrade to ICAP so it was better we evaluated both. You see?

The truth is some people who ran away from WES are still going to need it especially some of us that are in certain profession and want to settle in ontario. For example me, I didn't bother with WES as I would have only added 8 points. Here I am how many months down the line paying 300 something CAD for ICAP as I cannot get into my field without it. You don't pay extra to WES to evalute your multiple degrees.

So like I said it's your choice.

Why are you evaluating your anything less than your highest degree? The ECA your evaluate for immigration purposes is not relevant to my knowledge for any other thing .

So evaluating your Bsc and Msc is a waste of time for those evaluating and your processing time takes longer
.

Not necessarily. Perhaps for those with Nigerian degrees however those from the new generation universities get their transcripts with no issues.
In my opinion, it's one's choice.

We shouldn't treat contrasting views as an act of war.
Kindly stop refering to irrelevant past post especially when its been trashed, back-up with references, accepted by every party (EVEN ME)

Further to the ECA issue in question. Dupsychoo is correct, but is it the only way possible?
Even though single evaluation of Masters gives you what you want, I dont see any reason why one should leave out other degrees when you wont get charged per degree (For WES ECA though). At least for mine, I wasnt charged extra for MBA, BSc in a single evaluation. You only get charged when you update a new degree after evaluation certificate/statement has been finalised.
(You might want to leave it out such if facing problems getting transcripts for lower degrees)
Whats your take on this?

Kindly, lets reply without flaring tempers. Its not my intention to insult, have a tussle of words or have the last say. We're all here to learn.
Hoping to hear from you.

Mr. Kunmi, the whole arguement stems from this reading culture that now sounds like a broken record.

The notion of evaluating your highest degree is because it's sometimes takes forever to get your transcripts from Nigerian universities. Those that have Msc from a foreign Unis are advised to evaluate their masters or PHD alone as it's faster. I personally evaluated both first and Masters degree for my hubby but that's my choice.
That is why you have to read so you can understand before you start dishing your own advise.
Kindly stop posting long previous posts, others can go on the previous thread and read it.

One needs to be shrewd when doing stuff such as this. It is noteworthy that during evaluation (by WES particularly) you get an estimated date of completion of evaluation after verification is done. With that, ECA shouldn't be a limitation to creating/maintaining a profile. At least have that profile up and running in case you're caught in the web of a CRS cut-off tie breaker.

You may still create your profile as soon as you have a reference number from WES. All you need to do is add the 'IMM' suffix to your WES reference number and you're fine.
Assuming your WES reference number is 1234567, that means in the field for your ECA report number, you should fill in 1234567IMM.

Where it is certain that ECA won't be ready 3 months after ITA is gotten, kindly decline ITA and get back into the pool ASAP to be eligible for another draw.

Happy boxing day

Wrong information sir. This is basic misrepresentation.

Thank you @mcstan18.

This is exactly my case. Hubby & I's ECA was estimated to be out January 8th. Surprisingly, hubby's ECA was ready the next day (Dec 15th) after acceptance of all certificates. I thought mine will also be ready soon as my certificates have also been accepted. I jumped into pool and got ITA (Dec 20th).

But people are confusing me, people like you say, it doesnt matter as long as ECA will be out before 3mths expiration. But another set is saying I should decline, that chnage in ECA date is misrepresentation.

Please seniors in the house, can you shed your view on this matter.

Hubby & I have similar qualifications (UK masters). So I am sure mine will also be evaluated as equivalent Canadian Masters. I do not see change in ECA date as misrepresentation.

Please advice further. Thank you.

Does it not sound like misrepresentation to you? You got an ITA without ECA? Were you supposed to be in the pool without it in the first place?

You are required to update your profile if you get married (or other changes) at any time throughout the process.

- pre ITA: easy, just update your profile

- if it's post ITA: recalculate your CRS point, if it's above the cutoff for your ITA, you're good (use Modify Family information tab). Else, decline the ITA

- post COPR: you must return docs and update your application as appropriate . It might set you back a couple of months.

- post landing (PR) : too late, you have to sponsor your spouse for his/her visa

- you spouse will have to do medicals and PCC in all cases
- do a quick calculation now with and without your spouse to see how much difference the CRS points are. Your spouse may also have to write IELTS test and do ECA to keep the points before and after being married close.

What about post AOR?

My Advice to prospective applicants.
1. DO NOT SUBMIT FALSE DOCUMENTS – You may think you are smart but they are smarter, they can see what you cannot see, these guys are meticulous and they leave no stone unturned. If we can go through the process without issues, I believe you can also so just do the RIGHT thing.
2. Be Patient – We never bothered calling London office after we sought info on where our documents were being processed (London).
3. Make sure you follow-up with your transcript from your school.
4. Study hard for IELTS so you don’t write it over and over again, and if you are married ensure that your spouse writes to help boost your score.
5. Advise all your family members to apply.

Congratulations! Wishing you all the best ahead.

I remember telling Yokus that I submitted my children's Nigerian passports(that's what I used for Medicals) and when I ordered GCMS notes they had their US passport numbers there. I also saw they share info with the US. I was like wow! I kukuma sent both passports for them to choose whether they'll stamp the Nigerian or just give them COPR with the US one.

Thanks for your input. I believe you are right in your first submission below as per spouse's work experience and reference letters outside Canada, not impacting the CRS score of the PA. But I think it is wrong to believe the PA should also remove his/her work experience after ITA is received and nothing consequential will not happen.

When applying for e-APR, will the PA not be required to submit along all other documents the reference letters for all work experiences declared to secure CRS points which qualified him for the ITA in the first place? Please, clarify.

Thanks and regards,

I removed some work experience from the PA that we were not claiming points for Post ITA as he was only claiming points for the recent job (7 years) and moved the other experience to PH.

We uploaded only one ref letter and Job description for that NOC.
So if you're not claiming points for it, move it.

Hi,
For every work experience of your spouse filled in the EE/PRE-ITA/e-ITA form, you have to submit Letters of employment/reference. There is a space where you will upload all her employment/work reference letter. Not sure about the points issue but very sure about the upload as I am presently uploading my spouse, she'll need to travel for some. If I had know, I wouldn't have put the one outside the state.

In fact ehn I don't know what to say sef lol.

When we say read......

Please move her work history to personal history and click on no work history and stop disturbing yourself and that woman.

You don't get any points for spouse work history and it's not necessary. I moved all work experience to personal history post ITA and the place holder was removed. Please dont let that woman travel anywhere in the name of reference that you don't need.

Goodluck.

In addition to bridging programs, the Corporate Readiness Training Program at Bow Valley College is a good one for professional immigrants. It is funded by Alberta Works and provides child care expense depending on one's income. The program runs for a period of 16 weeks. Ten weeks training on full-time employment-focused language instruction and 6 weeks internship in a company that aims to utilize your past education and work experience. I also heard the success rate is very high as most students are retained in the company.

I am not ashamed to depend on God for everything. I know i have a part to play, but i also depend on Him for wisdom in playing my part . Therefore i do best and leave the rest for God. Because from experience, God can do more for me than i can do for myself in a lifetime.

There's also something like this in Ontario. It's a co-op program.

Hi 40manlappy

Quite a mouthful, your name...

I'm also arriving with my wife in April. Where are you landing,if i may ask? We are thinking about sharing a temporary place(airbnb) with any other couple arriving in april .We are coming into Toronto though. Not sure if this is a good idea but i know if we pool resources...we can get something really nice. If anyone's interested, please feel free to contact me so we can hatch out the plan.

N.B: this offer is only for couples(i.e husband and wife). No offense to married folks with kids.

Thanks

Are you sure this is a good idea? Please be careful about sharing an apartment with complete strangers. You don't have to stay in Toronto as there are areas like Vaughan, Mississauga, Brampton, Burlington and those are off the top of my head. If you research properly you'll find some affordable apartments without any need to share a with anyone with or without Children.

Stay safe and all the best!

Meanwhile, Unilag and WES are showing me though Kingston University has sent my postgrad. I don't know what I was doing my mates were doing undergrad abroad?

I am not sure if this is related but I would really like some concrete information and advice on what I am about to type.

My husband came back last night and told me that it may be possible for us to be able to get a work permit if we enroll our son into a private school in Canada.

Our son is 3 years old. Can a 3 year old be given a student visa? If yes, I being his mum and guardian would be given what? Does anyone living in Canada or Nigeria know anything about this? If yes, what Province should I start looking for schools for him? Thanks guys smiley

The bolded is ludicrous in my opinion.
For starters, children don't start school till they turn 4 ( some provinces allow it if they turn 4 by the end of that year)

My advise is to read up on the FSW/ FST/ PNP and see which route you and your hubby can pursue to immigrate to Canada. Start from page 0 of this thread.

I've searched the questions regarding pension being used as POF but my question is slightly different. Am still employed and we have a staff provident fund in which i currently have more than enough money for my POF. This money will be available to me in full as soon as i resign which i only want to do after receiving my PPR. Am wondering if this will be accepted as POF if i can attach all necessary statements and write ups.

Not sure if it has been answered before but i've searched the pages before and only seen answers on pension yet mine is not.

I think I've read that this is even better than the pension fund. I'm almost sure this is what the Indians use.
Try and read CanadaVisa forum and see if it's the same thing.
I would get the fine print though that backs up your claim should you decide to use it.

You may find it interesting that repeated reference being made to a God who may or may not be another listener/reader's God within a discussion that isn't religious in it's subject matter and in which the listener/reader has not expressed a desire to discuss religion, actually comes across as being religiously intolerant.
