Child is a US citizen. Visa (ETA sef) not required. Can be stamped in for 6 months as a visitor and extended inland till the PR process is complete. Life ain't that hard when you got the right passport.

Don't know how I missed this but I'm glad I did. I see people have replied you ...

I'm of the opinion you're arguing out of sheer ignorance.
As a mother of US born children, my stand remains the same. She should have her baby in Canada to avoid stories that touch. Being a US passport holder doesn't translate to permanent residency in Canada.

I rest my case.

I know that you can do a land crossing at Niagara. Walk across the bridge to US side, ask that they reject you and then walk back to the Canadian side. Heard some people discussing the option. People do it all the time.

Reject? How?

@gensta sorry I didn’t reply your pm on time was quite busy.
For certification of my documents, I used a notary public but a lawyer can be used provide he/she has a seal to authenticate the documents.
As for the ECA, I got it in 9weeks but response time is dependent on the volume of work they have to do per time. To avoid delays ensure you send all required documents.
All the best

They can easily bring the child into Canada as a visitor when they are ready to move to Canada, and then apply for the kid's PR from there.

Easily? Is this from experience or what?

This is a sad one. The only drawing board I see here is canceling the US birth plans before someone dashes American government their baby. I can't even imagine the pain in those Jordanian parents' heart each day they see their girl say "Hello" from the other side.

Too sad! Though I still don't understand how she can't be added automatically since the Dad is Canadian.

Only the OP and her hubby can decide what they want to do on the drawing board. I can only advice.

Please can somebody help with this situation.

We plan to do a soft landing in Canada so the visas do not expire and then go to America to birth our child. Will it be an issue that our baby is born after COPR and after our first landing but before our PR cards are issued? Is this something to declare?

From what I understand, there's nothing to declare if it is after you arrive Canada for the first time. And I don't think it is a sin to be PR of Canada and go to America to deliver but I have heard some different comments so please help.

Please note that the child will be born after COPR, after our first (soft) landing, after applications for our PR cards but before the PR cards are issued and before our final landing and the child will be born outside Canada.

You will need to think about that decision properly. Doesn't make much sense to me if you ask me. You will have to sponsor the baby of which I doubt you will meet the requirements to sponsor any family member while residing in Nigeria.
Also note that sponsorship can take up to 1 year.

Click on the link below.

After this, go back to the drawing board.

Hello A555,

I am about to apply for US visa via dropbox but I am kinda worried that the Canada immigrant visa might affect the application.

Pls did you apply via dropbox or did you go for an interview?
Was your visa application approved?
On the DS-160 form, how did you answer the question of if you are a PR of another country?

My immigrant visa expires in June, I will be landing in May.

Thank you.
I've just done the same with no issues.

Wonderful job you guys are doing here. I was in the uk between 2004 and 2006. On a six months visit visa (had a visa refusal too before i got the visa) which i over stayed. My passport was seized and subsequently lost by my uncle when i told him i wanted to go back home as i was tired of being an illegal and refused to marry for stay. I eventually got back to nigeria with an ETC , there was no biometrics in uk visa app then. I am about to start the canada pr thingy and i need advise . am thinking of not disclosing all these .
(My worries inlude old passport is missing, visa refusal, police report in uk required, illegal stay in uk). If i dont disclose all these is there anyway they cic can find out. Pls help

You don't have a problem. Just explain carefully also word it appropriately. You'll be just fine.

There's always a way to put the situation in words without putting yourself in a tight corner

Someone my friend told me about had a similar issue.

She was deported because of shoplifting in the UK

Years passed, she applied for a visa explaining that she was naive and committed the act due to peer pressure.
They gave her the visa

Wow! Deportation because of shoplifting... that's so sad.

You should even get more points if you add your Nigerian birth certificate to the evaluation.
It is hard being a citizen of this country. While you are at it, please add your primary school first school leaving certificate. Just evaluate everything grin

For real! You're a deep thinker.

I think everyone with low writing scores should ask for a remark. There's something suspicious about the writing marks. Everybody cannot have written woefully. I see great scores then a 6 or 6.5 in writing. Ahh ehn! Please try and remark people.

Hello people
I have an issue with the work reference letter that I obtained from the school where I served during my NYSC. My concern with the letter is that the stamp which the principal put on the letter obscured his name on the letter. The attached image shows the part of the letter that has the above problem. Please can everyone help me review the image below and help me decide whether I need to travel to the school again to obtain another letter.

Don't see any problem. I think it's fine.

Please what do you advise.

Should I state that I am still single during my application to cic.

Or I sud indicate married but my family is not coming with me!!!!

Note: I got the information that you need to provide POF for your family even if they are not coming with you....
sud i just indicate single and then invite family after I am settled in canada..

Please help to shed more light ooooo abeg..

Why would you want to start your new life in another country with lies? Why claim single when you're married then you'll still come back here and ask for a solution when you're banned 5 years for misrepresentation.

Do what you feel is right.

Can someone who has recently done this, confirm the amount.......Thanks as I await prompt responses.

Good day house.

Please who has travelled from Nigeria and landed with their passport having less than 6 months validity, or with a renewed passport. Please how did you do it?
Kindly share.

It's not advisable. The airline may refuse you boarding.

Sis, I did not miss the part about raising a CSE. But saying "Nothing to panic about. US refusals are generic anyway.." for an applicant who did not state a previous visa refusal on his/her application is worrisome. Even the CSE part was optional in your message.
The poster had already said the refusal was mentioned in the application so it ok.

Poster never asked if she could intentionally misrepresent? She realised she didn't declare a previous refusal of which she now remembered she did but didn't include the generic letter.
I remember saying 'in my opinion ' but hey who panic epp?
Eitherways, if you read through my posts I'm not one that condones misrepresentation.

Yeah, the prob was airlines were refusing to let you fly with the 6 months validity in question. You know Naija and our own ways of interpreting things. Make person no reach airport come dey hear story. BP is back to normal now grin grin grin

However, all you needed to do was get a new passport and fly with the old and new passports. The new passport will be stamped. But I guess you needed to go through that route for your reasons.
