goon:Na wa o! Keep deceiving yourself that no one can see the dust, cobwebs and rot. It is really disgraceful that all you can think about is protecting ACN where there has been an assault. Dude, slapping people is not what is done in the civilised World. Thank you. |
DrummaBoy:Never bump into topics where your ignorance shines like stadium lights. ![]() |
hooged:Lol! I would have thought you would take time out to castigate a man that slaps women, his subordinates and even a gentleman Fashola. But what can one expect from Aregbesola's followers? Like leader, like follower; all supporters of generous slapping. ![]() Or is it just that you don't like this pic? ![]() |
afam4eva:Joe Igbokwe is not scared for Fashola, he is scared that ACN could lose massively to PDP in the forthcoming LG elections. There has been a lot of anger, fighting and killings within ACN over the imposition of candidates for the Lagos LG elections. Just this week, several were killed at an ACN rally. . . .hundreds of aggrieved members of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, yesterday, stormed the party secretariat in Ogba, Lagos State House of Assembly, Alausa, and took to the major streets in Isolo Local Government Area to protest alleged imposition of candidates.http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/09/council-poll-protest-rocks-lagos-over-%E2%80%98imposition-of-candidates%E2%80%99/ No! |
Bawss1:Illegality is the only thing being sacrificed. There were no laws governing the past structure (Excess Crude), therefore it was considered illegal by all comers. The governors on the other hand saw this as a free for all to demand and divide, because the constitution has loopholes that entitles them to the ECA money; therefore, the country could never make any real savings or foreign investments. The shiny brand new SWF is fully ring-fenced from any greedy paws by law (hence the governors are upset) and ties very neatly into the other economic and strategic plans of the FG, notably the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB). One of the principal thrusts of the PIB is to break up the NNPC into several units that will all generate profits, rather than being the current budgetry sinkholes they are. One of the units of the split NNPC will be a drilling and prospecting company that will vie for business (prospecting, drilling and refining) across the Globe; much of such forays will be initially financed by the SWF; when the company is properly up and running, some of its profits will serve to drive the SWF. The above is just a small example from the oil sector alone. Along with GEJ's new local content laws, we will see oil begin to work for the country for the first time in our 51 year history. Before now Shell and its likes simply drilled whatever quantity of oil they wanted, gave us any figure for number of barrels drilled, got paid without Nigerian involvement and that what it. Slaves in our own land. The SWF will help power all sorts of investments in every kind of field. Nigeria could, for example, invest in a high tech chip manufacturing plant in Hong Kong and filter the technology back home; we could even use our fund as aggressively as the Chinese use theirs and wholly buy up high tech companies all over the Globe. Before you know it, Nigeria would be a developed nation. We have the money to buy that for ourselves, in fact we have had it for decades, its just that we have also lacked visionary leaders for decades. Well done GEJ, we be luv'n the Fresh Air! ![]() |

oyb:But hasn't GEJ been there since October 1st 1960? Mundu. Olodo. |
Where is Gbawe to come and defend the despicable actions of the Reps? GEJ must have made a mistake to remove those corruption mongers from the ports. |
Nigeria: Outrage Trails Representatives' Move to Return NAFDAC, SON to Ports Bayo Amodu 20 October 2011 IT emerged on Tuesday that the House of Representatives is making moves to return some of the government agencies evicted about two weeks ago from the nation's seaports to their former positions. But operators and stakeholders in the nation's maritime sector have warned that such move would be vehemently rejected. The House directed the Joint Committees on Health, Industry and Drug and Narcotics to investigate the withdrawal of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) from the nation's seaports. The committee is expected to submit its findings to the House within two weeks. However, speaking with The Moment in a telephone interview yesterday, a prominent freight forwarder, Lucky Amiwero said the lawmakers should concentrate on making laws that would lead to the advancement of the country and not laws that causes commotion. According to him, what the minister of finance said was not just a directive but a very clear position of the law. He said, 'the statement of the minister stands legally. Decree 61 of 1999 Constitution Section 1A and B is very clear. It is an Act of parliament. If they want to negate the directive of the president, they should first make a move that will cancel the decree.' Speaking further, Ami-wero said the lawmakers cannot succeed with any plan to take the nation backward because the law did not bar the agencies from coming to the ports but that the Customs can invite them if their services are needed through a written notification. 'They don't have the legal right to go to the ports and stay there without being invited.' Also, the President Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANCLA), Olayiwola Shittu, said the new development is an indication that all the people that were removed from the ports are all making efforts to come back adding that they can be effective in their work without staying permanently at the ports. Shittu also said there is an existing law which stipulates which agency of government has the responsibility to permanently maintain security at the port. 'That law has not been abrogated and if the lawmakers wants to break the law by themselves good luck to them'. He added that if the Federal Government succumbs to the National Assembly, it would continue to be business as usual at the port which will not augur well for the Nigerian port development. He, however, said it takes the political will of the government to determine whether they will scale through. An importer who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the agencies have been contributing to the delay at the ports and should not be allowed to come back. 'Which kind of country is this? We make one step forward, ten steps backwards. The major problem with the port is corruption. People that will not benefit from multiple agencies at the ports are at work but we will resist any move to take us backwards,' he said. President Goodluck Jonathan on October 10 approved the withdrawal of 10 government agencies from the country's seaports for non compliance with international best practices. But the House of Representativesat a plenary on Tuesday arrived at a resolution which emanated from a motion by Rep. Uzor Azubuike (PDP-Abia), and which was unanimously adopted to investigate the directive of the president. Leading the debate, Azubuike noted that it would be out of place to eject relevant agencies like NAFDAC and SON from the ports in view of the fight against fake and adulterated drugs. He urged members of the House to support the motion in order to allow the agencies perform their constitutional duties at the ports. Rep. Joseph Haruna (CPC Nasarawa), who supported the motion, argued that the agencies' role was crucial to the fight against fake drugs in the country. 'I think that NAFDAC should remain at our borders to check substandard goods coming into the country,' he said. Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila (ACN Lagos), the Minority Leader, suggested a review of laws guiding the operations of the agencies to check the rate at which the executive arm of government took decisions on them. He noted that the mere proposal of motions on the floor of the House would not have much effect. Rep. Asita Honourable (PDP Rivers) said that there was a need for the executive arm to explain to the House why the decision was taken. He said that what government ought to do now was to strengthen the agencies instead of withdrawing them from the seaports. Mr, Leo Ogor (PDP-Delta), the Deputy Leader, argued that in as much as there was a need to discourage physical inspection at our ports, withdrawing the agencies could be detrimental http://allafrica.com/stories/printable/201110200565.html |

I'm waiting for the usual crew to come and blame GEJ for "designing" the dams (including Kainji). |
luluosas:I wonder what there is to be proud of in Nigeria. Is it the fact that you slowpokes ( ) cannot even pay for your own shiit without recourse to oil? Let the place dissolve, who really cares? You will only be doing us a favour and picking up the begging bowl as the new Somalia. |
sheyguy:Changing stance? Thats only happening in your head. |
The only known name is Dr. Faseun and we know he represents OPC. But, how come nobody has ever heard of any of the following? Ethnic Nationalities of Nigeria, CENN, comprising Igbo Youths Congress, IYC, Ijaw Izon Community in Lagos, IZC, Supreme Egbesu Assembly, SEA, Arewa Youths Congress, AYC, Niger/Delta Student Council, National Coalition of Arewa United Association, NCAUADamn! They must be his cooks, gardeners and sundry carpenters / bricklayers. ![]() |

dannie04:Yes, that is exactly what we want our police to do. Otherwise, the backward baboons can also drink otapiapia for "short-cut." Doing that will help us replace the bribe sipping murafuka's with a genuine, modern and well trained force (bera still, state police). |
blacksta:Pictorial evidence of Aregbesola slapping people? You're funny o! You can personally get that evidence by holding a placard outside Aregbe's house. See if he won't daze you with some blinding slaps that will join your ear to your nose. Olodo. Like leader, like follower. @topic Welldone GEJ! The Fresh Air is already causing jealousy among the losers, so they come only to abuse. |
