Like this thread wasn't begging to be derailed; its subject matter is of no consequence to anybody. It was good the thread was skewed to provide some humor to what would otherwise have been an insult arena.
You must be a serious joker! Aregbesola DID slap Fashola.

djustice: Yes, Aregbesola indeed once assaulted Fashola at an Exco meeting, when Fashola brought up the issue of a substantive Commissioner for Works. Aregbesola was still waiting for the tribunal and Court of Appeal Bribes to work their magic for him, and the position of Commissioner for Works was ordered to be left open for him as a fall-back position by their god, Bola Tinubu.

When Fashola raised the issue, Aregbesola slapped him and told him to sit down. Asked him who the hell he thought campaigned for him to win the elections. Fashola did not retaliate, to his credit, and when Amoda Ogunlere saw him later, he tried to placate him: "Mo gbo pe Aregbe gba e loju. Ika ni boy yen o. O da, ma binu, so gbo". Again, to his credit, Fashola DID NOT tell Amoda Ogunlere or send anyone to him. Amoda was either informed by Muiz Banire or Tokunbo Afikuyomi.

We Goofed On Refinery Investment In Indonesia — Jakarta Post
Wed, 19/10/2011 - 1:37am | ISAAC AIMURIE

JAKARTA POST

Jakartapost, the  website that published story about Nigeria’s plan to build three refineries in Indonesia, last week Thursday, said it goofed, LEADERSHIP can exclusively report.

A senior editor with Jakartapost, Andi Haswidi, told LEADERSHIP that “talks with Panggah Susanto, director-general for manufacturing-based industry in The Ministry of Industry, in Indonesia, revealed that the story was in fact misleading.

“He (the DG) felt that he was misquoted while speaking to reporters after attending a bilateral meeting between Nigerian industry minister and his Indonesian counterpart, M. Hidayat, last week in Jakarta,” Haswidi quoted the DG as saying.

The Jakarta editor further said: “We also spoke with the reporter who was responsible for the story. From him it was clear that Panggah referred to Nigeria when he explained investments in three refineries with each requiring Rp 8 trillion. So far we can conclude that the story is dubious. We will publish a follow-up after a meeting with Panggah. Hope that helps.”

However, Nigerian newspapers (excluding LEADERSHIP) were awash last week with reports that the Nigerian government was planning to invest Rp 24 trillion (US$2.68b/N428.8b) in Indonesia to fund the construction of three oil refineries, a report the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation declared as false.

Every year the RASCALS try to impeach poor Fashola who is one of the best governors that Nigeria has ever produced and a true gentleman. As if that is not enough, they get a gravelly thug like the ever lying Aregbesola to impose commissioners on him, choose 37 councerlorship candidates and worst of all. . . to actually raise a grimy hand and slap him.

LOLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!
I didn't know this would make front page! Gaddem! And I've been too busy to log on and do justice to those ACN clowns that will fail the simplest exam.

How difficult is it to answer a simple and straightforward question? shocked

Did AregbeRASCAL slap Fashola?

All the arselickers have failed the above rather simple test and made the village id!ocy manifest to the Wide World. Na wa!
Instead of answering a simple yes or no, true to form, they engaged in moral dodging and intellectual staggering. . . the one-legged dance of a drunken twerp. embarassed embarassed embarassed

I am most thankful to djustice for providing a very detailed account of the unfortunately primitive saga:

djustice: Yes, Aregbesola indeed once assaulted Fashola at an Exco meeting, when Fashola brought up the issue of a substantive Commissioner for Works.

Dayum! shocked shocked shocked

. . .Now all we need to know is the quality and intensity of that agriculturally sagacious blow (for AregbeRASCAL is an agricultural type with dust in his ears, scary beard and the red eyes of a creature of the night).

There is a story that Aregbesola once slapped Fashola at an exco meeting in Lagos. Can anybody in the help to flesh this out?
Aregbesola is known to live in Lagos from where he governs Osun. It is also known that aside from imposing commissioners on Fashola, he recently imposed 37 LGA candidates on Lagos.
Can anyone provide more info on the slap story, though? Thanks.

Of course, the SSS must be probing Buhari, but it isn't the religious event Daily Trust is making it out to be. If he is found wanting, he will either be questioned or trussed up as the law dictates.

Gbawe:
My brother, I understand your reservation but Osun has no viable alternatives. It cannot build its own new rail system. Road transport , ideally, should be avoided for the haulage of perishable produce if adequate rail transport exist. Mind you, Osun is not entirely at the mercy of the NRC because it has purchased its own rail wagon for transporting produce thus meaning Osun will work more in partnershio with the NRC rather than as a service user. If Osun owns it own Wagon then the State can arrange and controls its own delivery schedule with the NRC. Maintainance of rail track , by the NRC, is probably the main issue.
Lol!
Aregbe has paid the FG to build railway lines and has bought 40 coaches and 40 wagons to run on FG railway lines. Na wa o! Eye pop'n stuff!!!

Osun should try create an alternative platform as well.

Gbawe: Okonjo-Iweala Hunts for FDI, Meets Soros, Others
Posted by admin Headlines Sunday, August 7th, 2011

Incoming Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has commenced hunting for Nigeria’s needed foreign direct investment (FDI) in the United States, with meetings with top financiers and key global investors.
This move is in pursuit of President Goodluck Jonathan’s focus on growing the economy by boosting investment and job creation in the country.

The meetings, which were held in New York and Washington DC, were centred on exploring opportunities in different sectors of the Nigerian economy especially with regards to financing important projects in the country.

THISDAY learnt that among the financial and investment heavyweights she had met so far were the iconic financier, Mr. George Soros, as well as the heads of two of the biggest investment banks in the US – Citigroup CEO, Mr. Vikram Pandit, and CEO of JP Morgan Chase, Mr. Jamie Dimon.

According to a source at the meeting, the discussions were both “positive and promising”.
The investors are clearly interested in Nigeria and would invest under the right conditions and environment but they also expressed concern about some aspects of the country’s financial and economic management.

In particular, the financiers and investors would like to see a tighter approach to macroeconomic management, including a better budgetary process, improvements in the investment climate and greater transparency and rule of law in the country.
http://newnigerianpolitics.com/2011/08/07/okonjo-iweala-hunts-for-fdi-meets-soros-others/

The investors expressed concern, but under your voodoo, it has become darkness and woe.
What you continue to refer to as Almajiri institution is a criminal practice of Child Abuse. We will have to agree to disagree on this issue. What we can agree on, is the fact that the problems of poverty, child slavery (maids etc), baby factories, child trafficing for prostitution need to be addressed holistically. GEJ's leadership is welcome on the matter.

There is nothing wrong with Almajirai if practiced accordingly. What we call Almajiri in Nigeria, for the most part, is nothing more than gross child abuse fueled by poverty and lack of education. Until we address the underlying problems mentioned above, you people should prepare for more Boko Harams.
My guy, the issue of maids pales into complete insignificance when placed side-by-side with the almajiri issue. On how many instances have maids arisen to slaughter hundreds? How many maids are fuelling boko haram?
The almajiri institution is deadly because it has a religious bent. Those kids can learn their religion in their mosques or any certified after school tuition groups. The whole madness of religion needs to be taken out of schools and tightly regulated (I duff my hat to Katsina for asking that all preachers be certified).

The best thing the core-North can do is banish what is essentially a Hausa tradition and save everybody the grief, insecurity and shame.

You have talked expansively about child abuse, but fail to see that the almajiri institution can never be practised correctly, because it is not based on any written rules (not even religious ones), but is based on the stray interpretations of various clerics, quite a few of whose backgrounds, religious beliefs, worldviews and temperaments are of highly dubious and dangerous pedigree.
If we are serious about child abuse, then banish the damn almajiri institution; that however, can only come with cultural rebirth.
