MaziUche0:Thanks dude. ![]() |
Pataki:So what if GEJ claimed to have spoken with him? Dude, stop ranting OP. GEJ spoke in the national interest, in whose interest did BBC make the fake phone call? Lord! Its raining dunces today! ![]() |
^ Dude, its not about love. Its about shared interests and shared goals. The name "Azikiwe" was irrelevant in the Plateau state vote for instance. You can be pro-SS at a national level, but pro-Itsekiri at local level. That way, there's all to gain. |
^ Poor thing, see how the embarrassment of being caught with your hands in the pot is making you use smilies like a mad fool. lol
@Beaf: Trying to change the subject and cover your shame after failing the exam, I guess ![]() This is the problem with growing up in your life using "expo" to pass exams. It makes you mentally weak, food for the strong ![]() Anyway, let me stop mocking you, that is a being a bit unkind. I should instead help, rather than mock. Here is a list of logical fallacies: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fallacies And here is a top 20 list of the ones people usually screw up on: http://www.theskepticsguide.org/resources/logicalfallacies.aspx Might be worth your time to read through some of them. In particular, read the article you linked to from Wikipedia on "beg the question" carefully. It won't take you too much time to understand the concept, it is pretty easy. If you still don't understand, here are some other references for you to master the concept: 1) http://skepdic.com/begging.html 2) http://www.fallacyfiles.org/begquest.html There is a bunch of other stuff you can google too. Then spend another three minutes reading what you quoted from me. Understand why you accusing me of "begging the question" makes zero sense here. For someone to "beg the question", at a minimum, there must be some sort of proposition being made. It was impossible for me to "beg the question", since I made no proposition! ![]() (again, note that "proposition" in this context is different from the colloquial English usage! I mean "proposition" as used in logic or mathematics, not when ordinary people say the word "proposition." Again, to repeat, "proposition" in the context of accusing someone of "begging the question" is different from, "Oh gee, that is a pretty crappy proposal for why the BBC did XYZ, ekt_bear." ![]() Anyway, Beaf as a general rule. . . make sure you understand what English phrases and expressions mean before you use them. Especially the ones related to logical fallacies. People use them all the time inappropriately without understand what they mean. You are not the first one who has made this mistake, and probably will not be the last.
Lol! What a sad sod! Poor lil cassava muncher feels so ticked that he's done a hours of google research in a vain attempt to absolve himself from the sin of begging the question. Its less palatable name is dishonesty. You committed a fools blunder by starting with "perhaps" and ending with the certainty of "not really their fault." You were caught attempting to bend the topic, now you are running helter skelter like a headless chicken. You were found out, live with it. Dunce. |
@ekt_bear, stop embarassing Beaf by exposing his intellectual inadequacy. Frankly, I know Beaf enough to say that he is only pretending to be a intellectual midget this time around - i.e. unless I've been wrong all along. LWKMD
Aboki, are you on break from burning churches? |
So rather than taking the exam, you decide to skip it? ![]() "Begging the question", indeed ![]() Arrogant stupidity was the term I used to describe you before. Imagine, a man who will accuse another of "begging the question". . . without first understanding what the phrase means!
Using tonnes of smilies when there is absolutely nothing funny points at self esteem (or other disturbing psychological) issues. Anyone with a cure for the borderline insane? |
While reiterating its call for the convocation of Sovereign National Conference (SNC) as the only panacea to address the nation’s political problems, OPC warned that the country could not afford to go into another civil war.I support this call entirely. |
o9999:Yes o! The man in coma! ![]() |
Hehe. OK, let me test you a bit, see if you are just randomly googling or actually understand what these terms mean. So first of all, I'm assuming that you know what the terms "hypothesis" and "proposition" mean in philosophy, logic, and mathematics? And how their meanings are very precise and quite different from what it means when we speak English casually? If you do not understand what these terms mean, then there was no point in you accusing me of "begging the question". . . since you obviously won't understand what that term means either ![]() Alright, let us begin. I'll assume that again you understand what the above three terms in quotes mean, in the context of logic. Now, kindly explain to me, what proposition did I assume without proving or justifying? ![]() Be very careful Beaf; don't make any mistakes in answering this question I have asked Think very carefully, lest you be exposed to the world as a person who throws around words and phrases without understanding their meaning.
Shut up and stop trying to hide your shame at being caught at your dishonest game.. . .Writing volumes of silliness. ![]() |
The number of people burnt to cinders in the streets is heart rending and revolting. May their souls rest in peace. From the policemans words, it is definite that the rioting was pre-planned, you don't get millions of people murdering and burning on the streets by coincidence. |
Basseti:Guy, people are troublesome. |
What does working for the BBC have to do with this hypothesis? How is that relevant, at all? I also do not work for Pizza Hut. . . that has about as much relevance to this discussion.
Crap. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Begging_the_question |
Perhaps BBC had people on the ground at the polling booths who then phoned the #s back to the main office, then added up to figure out who won. If that is what they did, who can blame them for announcing a winner? In theory, doing that should tell you who won. Not really their fault that adding up the # of votes at the polling booths is not a valid way of saying who won a LGA or state (at least in naija )
Daft.Do you work for BBC? |
Beaf calm down. Election is over, don't try to make enemies where there are none. Tinubu is not fighting South Southeners, Edo is SS, no? even great Ogboru sef might do well to join ACN as soon as he can. ![]() Seriously though, Tinubu is a political operator and a good one too. Nigeria is not a united country we all need to edge our bets and make sure alliances bring benefits. Fashola is a Politican and a Technocrat. I'm sure they are not dumb people. If they had the kind of money the FG/PDP had access to, their party probably would have won this election too. Let's now focus on the things we agree on, Restructuring, Fiscal Federalism, State Police, Education, Information Access reforms E.T.C and work together towards achieveing them. Tinubu has his own side of the alliance story too, we were not there, it's now a matter of "He said, She said" until they provide audio and video recordings.
To put it mildly, the SS hates Tinubu with a passion. GEJ cast aspersions on the SW political leadership, but Tinubu's response was unadulterated ethnic bigotry and kept going at it for weeks. I am not making enemies, the enmity has already been thrown at us; to make it worse, highly offensive phrases like "drunken fishermen" became a sort of ACN anthem. Dude, the die is cast. Seeing Tinubu as some sort of political hero is walking into Satans embrace with both eyes wide open. Especially in this new season when our politics is being vacuumed, hosed down and polished. I can promise you that you will see several governors equalling or surpassing Fashola in these new times. When that happens, what would become of SW politics? Fashola is the only attraction to ACN within and outside the SW. Without him, there wouldn't be much to point at, but there would still be the bogeyman demanding N2billion per month and fixing his girlfriends, kids and family friends in all SW positions. It is in Tinubu's interest to keep SW politics insular, so he can play the "we and them" games that keep Lagos states land and money flowing in his pockets, with the populace to occupied fighting the mythical "them" that they become blind and unquestioning to the rap'e occurring under their noses. The SW is on a wild train ride to nowhere except Tinubu is replaced with a thinker like Fashola. Is that not the same region that produced the Ajasin's, Babatope's, Jakande's, Herbert Mcaulay's etc? What are you doing with Tinubu? Even tiny Delta state ejected the much more powerful Ibori. Take a look at the new political map of Nigeria, the SW should be taking its seat in the new political block that consists of Middle Belt, SE and SS. Its a powerful grouping that will only get more nourished and infinitely more powerful. |
Opposition parties in the SS openly canvassed for GEJ, in fact it was common to see posters of ACN candidates bearing GEJ's photo. Go figure. ![]() GEJ's cool diplomacy was able to break down huge barriers of ethnic hatred and distrust between the SE and SS, after that support for GEJ swept the place like a raging fire. I recall the battles I had with Dede, Onlytruth, Obiagu etc. lol I am shocked Buhari even got a single vote from those two regions (must have been from non-indegenes). 99.9999% is what you get when two maximally marginalised regions unite in a bid for freedom through the ballot box. ![]() |
superboi:Thats not the effect of petrol, but gutter water. ![]() |
johnie:I'm sure most guys would be looking at just the Hausa-Fulani areas of that map. . . |
As long as he signs the real FOI bill, not the adjusted one PDP was trying to force down our throat. hey, Bros must support Ogboru by fire by force, anyway, e be like sey you don gree already ![]() @Topic, He needs to fire the laggard outrightly and make sure we see justice for the victims, no more mere talk. I have no pity for those thieveing politicians who lost their houses though.
I don't know Sambo to be a thief, he is a very decent man; it should have been IBB, Atiku, Ciroma etc losing their lives and property. |
@OnlyTruth This is a much better map. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/special/world/11/nigeria_election_toggle_maps/img/nigeria_ethnic_624.gif |
I understand that the North should be reprimanded for causing chaos because they want a Northern president. You should also be vilified for "not giving a shyt " and expecting them to trust a SS president instantly. Everything is about trust. GEJ needs to work his way with them. A country cannot operate properly with oppositions from its every corner. So pardon moi, shyt has to be given. As for the SW, obviously, we don't have a problem with GEJ becoming president. He's not our main concern as of now. I'm sure it wasnt only the Igbos that voted for GEJ. Benis did, Yorubas did, Itsekiris etc all did.
About the core-North? Nobody gives a shyte, especially anybody from the ND or SE. Wicked marginalisation and the pushing of ethnically driven politics of oppression and exploitation are things that are impossible to forgive. Revenge? No, but there will be full rectification of national structures. We have never trusted the core-North, but they ruled us anyway. Now, they do not trust us, but we will rule them anyway. The almajiri's will be educated by every means to stop them from being ready tools of terror, empowerment would also be brought to the core-Northern down trodden. It is a war of ideas that they are fighting with stones, guess who will win? So, to hell with trust from that quarter, in a country with a proper national architecture, ethnically bigoted trust would be irrelevant. As for the SW, you just have the worst leadership possible under Tinubu. What sort of dunce would give up the presidential race, whille they are 10 times stronger in FG representation? Tinubu is very smallminded, and its a bit of shock that he is getting any following among the educated; the best bet is to begin to push Fashola into the SW overall leadership role, cos Tinubu will make the SW underperform on the political field, with the danger of losing relevance with eyes open. Impossible? Check the recent elections. It will worsen if Tinubu isn't removed at this time and SW votes become severely fragmented and a gift to all comers. The foolish agro with the SS is purely Tinubu's invention, what he hoped to acheive with it is anyones guess. It just shows he isn't very smart though; now he is dreaming of selecting ministers after playing bad hands. The time for the likes of Fashola has come, and it is time for the SW to sieze the opportunity. Its also time to bury Tinubu. |
^ 40k? lol I will accept the odeku my broda. monkeyleg:Yes, the Interior Minister really messed up big time, especially with allowing the election riots happen at all. Everyone knew what was coming, the man was probably a 5th columnist. |
Oh so Nigeria is still on the matter? Read a thread on NL that said sth about the riot being over in the North, that the Northerners have been appeased. I guess not. I'm not sure if they'd have chosen GEJ over Buhari, but Buhari's excuse that millions of SW not voting is crap. Enough of this, let's see what 4 years will bring. If the SW gets interested in the coming four years, the story may change for GEJ. The fact is that the North and the SW don't trust a SS president yet. If GEJ works on increasing their trust, we won't have to look forward to another riot in 4 years.
Nobody really gives a bloody shyte about bigots who wish to continue with the old ways of Nigeria. |
monkeyleg:Lol! . . .And it came to pass that Beaf was c*mpr*mised. ![]() |
Fhemmmy:He did not fail. Did you witness the riots in the North, the bombings and massacres in Jos? Or how there was jubilation in Kano at the sight of military jets in the sky, because the people thought a coup had taken place? You don't solve such problems by firing people and making them resort to cruder means of dissent. No, you hold them close and make them think you can't see their vile actions. A practical idea of how such dissent would have been received in the core-North was presented with the way rioting took off after the election. They really gave a vivid view of the support such crude methods would have gained in the core North, mix that with upcoming elections and you have an unimaginably explosive situation. Jonathans trick was to defeat those people intellectually on all fronts, while playing the fool. Has it worked? lol! Like a magic trick, it has! The President is displaying a new form of civilised, highly effective leadership that is alien to the battered and traumatised Nigerian street, nevertheless, its one that is appreciated and which we will see emulated by many. No more military frog-jump methods or "Do you know who I am? I will lock up your family" style methods; they are backward, uncivilsed and have no place in the new Nigeria. |
monkeyleg:I'm happy with the balancing act that Uduaghan represents, its healthy for the state. If he is to be replaced, then its got to be by an Isoko or Igbo man otherwise a huge proportion of Deltans will feel they don't belong. DPP when you de support na Urhobo peeps full am. My prayer instead is that GEJ signs the FOI bill pretty sharply and makes it kick off from May 29 or thereabouts, then the corrupt would have fewer hiding places and be forced to perform. All in all though, Ogboru is an infinitely better candidate who would do wonders for the state. Bros, just know all these Dorris and Mercy promises must one day come to pass o! ![]() |
We have had enough plotters within the system, a fresh set in the mould sore losers like Buhari and his dishonest rabble rousers like Odumakin and Bakare would not do at all. |
He is a bit late and might as well stuff it! ![]() The riots have been put down without any display of moral worthiness from Buhari, so whats he cackling to BBC about? |
Bisijohn:We Nigerians are just impatient sha. lol I believe Jonathan is going to be much less hampered this time, especially once his new cabinet is in place and sabotage from Yar Adua cabal people within is eliminated. |
Nigerian Interior Minister Suspended For 'Lapses Of Leadership' IBADAN, Nigeria -(Dow Jones)- Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday ordered the immediate suspension of the country's Interior Minister Emmanuel Iheanacho. Iheanacho's suspension as minister and member of the Federal Executive Council comes "as a result of lapses in the political leadership of the ministry traceable to his personal and official conduct, according to a statement from Ima Niboro, the president's adviser on the media, which also said Iheanacho " continued manning of the ministry is not in the interest of the nation." Iheanacho has been directed to hand over to Minister of Labour, Emeka Wogu, who will, in addition to his present portfolio, oversee that ministry. No other reasons were given for the minister's suspension or whether he would be recalled. Incumbent President Jonathan was declared winner of Nigeria's presidential elections Monday, but the result was immediately disputed by the man rival, former military ruler Muhammadu Buhari. Groups of young men rioted in several northern Nigerian cities in an apparent protest of the result, despite local and international observers saying the vote was Nigeria's most credible election in decades. Buhari has since publicly disassociated himself from the violence. -By Obafemi Oredein, contributing to Dow Jones Newswires; 234 2 7510489; obafemioredein@yahoo.com 0 http://www.nasdaq.com/aspx/stock-market-news-story.aspx?storyid=201104191010dowjonesdjonline000242&title=nigerian-interior-minister-suspended-for-lapses-of-leadership |
sochan: Afam, this is a fellow forum member, if you do not like her posts, comment then or move on, but starting a thread to malign someone because she has a differing opinion from you is plain wrong.@sochan Yes, I agree it is plain wrong. What I cannot reconcile though, are the vivid memories of your kind self taking active part in an anti-Beaf thread. That day, I lost respect for you and the other low lifes taking part. Bloody hypocrite. |
It has since been discovered that the programme in question is Microsoft Excel! Tell Ringim to arrest Bill Gates. ![]() |
