calid16:Its like you really hate Igbo's (and ND peeps from your other mad thread). I find that very strange when Igbo's don't rule you, why would you hate someone who has no power over you?. . . Fear of the past? Fear of revenge for almajiri slaughters? You need to calm down, nothing but your own shadow is chasing you. |
mbulela:This is a bit too unrefined and gutter like. |
sbeezy8:The attractive thing to Tinubu will be the fact that Buhari has a political party that can win Northern sits. Ribadu has none. Anyway, it is too late late for parties to merge (except the new legislation to potpone the elections allows it), so the article might not be 100%. |
As funny as becomerich! ![]() |
homerac7:I honestly can't make any sense of what you are talking about. Your post is packed with assumptions. My position on the Abuja blasts, is very simple and will remain that; we as ordinary citizens do not possess any inside knowledge of what happened, so its a bit of a stretch pointing fingers in any direction to argue with officially released info; in fact, it is plain dishonest and dangerous. It amounts to propagandising the deaths of 16 innocent people. |
EzeUche0:Dude, you seem to have the attention span of a fish. Who mentioned my name on this thread? Err, it was'nt you, was it? Anyways, your tribalistic love for Chima Orlu and the slap down that resulted, is why you took the pathetically cowardly action to drop my name here in the hope of a lynching by your fellow pathetic losers. Yeah, only losers carry grouses from thread to thread. Fcking cement head. Is Chima Orlu your daddy? |
Abagworo:There is no indication of who kidnapped the men yet, so lets not jump to conclusions and start proferring solutions to problems that are yet to be defined (in other words, don't spread rumours; it lowers your cred). |
Abagworo:That is a lie! Ezeuche is a shameless tribalist who is in love with Chima Orlu. Aside from true federalism, the rest of your post is the usual tosh and you aught to be deeply ashamed. Ok. Assuming you aren't an IBB whatever, why the interest in my person from some of you? Am I like Jesus to you? ![]() |
EzeUche0:I know you are in love with Chima Orlu, the Abuja bomber, hence your strange predicament. According to your theory, the allies should still be in their World War II trenches fighting Nazi Germany after their victory in 1945; or the US should still be carpet bombing Iraq. Fools never change. |
This is a good move. We need to tear up and burn down all traces of the old system and toss. With every privatisation step and every legal challenge to the status quo, we move a step closer to true federalism. Zoning has no place in a democracy. |
EzeUche0:Getting personal as usual enh? I wonder why people like you expect that, rather than consolidating a hard won battle; we should still carry on blindly. Dude, the battle is 90% won, so why continue with the same old tactics? Not clever. How do you win a fight and carry on fighting? Thats some funny shyte from a funny mind! Its ok to watch others gripe in jealousy though and wish things would go back to the way they were, but the country has moved on. Obviously, some of your type been left behind. Its a new World dude, embrace it. |
oyb:So you think any sensible person will be drawn into a news paper article battle? Dude, thats amusing but, childish and wouldn't go any distance to changing opinions, rather observers will view it as a lame and folorn attempt to clutch at any straw, because they have lost the current argument about GEJ's worthy investment in the entertainment industry. |
780 Lawyers challenge zoning in court Headlines Nov 8, 2010 By: Luka Binniyat Not less than 780 lawyers have signed up for a legal battle against the principle of zoning, says the Peoples Zones Alliance (PZA) – the group that dragged the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), 57 political parties and others, to an Abuja High Court over the contentious zoning formula of Parties last June This was contained in a statement signed by Barrister Babatunde B. Bamigboye, counsel to PZA. In the statement, Bamigboye, said also refuted claims that the PZA is sponsored by President Jonathan Goodluck. “Over seven-hundred and eighty lawyers have already indicated their preparedness to fight on our side for the right to vote and be voted for in a free and fair election”, he said. “we appeal to members of the general public to join us in our struggle against zoning policy or any other policy that turns the electorate to a mere rubber stamp in the transition process”, he added. The lawyers are asking among others, “whether in the light of Section 12(2) of Nigerian Constitution and Article 25 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act 1990, the Nigerian State is obligated to ensure free participation in government by the people of Nigeria without permitting this freedom to be circumvented or arrogated by the policies of anyone of the 1st to the 57th Defendants as political parties in Nigeria”. The 780 lawyers according to him, are standing by PZA in the suit ref: suit no FHC/ABJ/CS/4242010. According the PZA Counsel, the lawsuit will help determine once and for all the importance of Nigerian citizens in all the processes that lead to election. “We want to use the peaceful and transparent arbitration of the court of justice to restore the Nigerian electorate to the position intended by our existing laws. It is high time Nigerian people began to decide who gets what where, when and how”, he said. On being sponsored by President Goodluck, the PZA lawyer said. “We are not coordinated or sponsored by the Presidency and I am not a confidante of any associate of the President”, he said. “It is the ploy by our enemies to put sentiments into a purely legal issue”, he said. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/11/780-lawyers-challenge-zoning-in-court/ |
oyb:Interesting that you think that is the only article in the World with the news. Interesting, but not surprising! There are several more detailed articles and sources of info than what you posted. It shouldn't be too difficult to seek them out. If you wish to post VGC bins, its your call. I'm sure you wouldn't understand why it would just seem really whacky to normal people who are debating whether the entertainment industry is a worthy non-oil sector for govt to have set aside a $200million loan fund. |
^ Ignorance on display in all its unpalatable ugliness. oyb:Just like your owner governor, Saraki goes to Abuja with his budget, so the FCT minister went with his. Is that difficult to comprehend? Mugu. As your owner governor, Saraki does his own feasibility studies and planning, so does the FCT minister. Just as FG approves money for your owner, so it does for the FCT minister. Thats easy enough to understand I would think. |
chosen04:No, the easiest way is for dolts like monkeyleg to keep following me around, making comments that drag the discuss below stup!dity levels. Do you see any sense in his comment? To me, it only came across as an excuse for him to mention, "Beaf." |
. |
byrron:What a load of tosh! Blaming GEJ for the decision by the FCT to source its bins from abroad is as ridiculous as blaming GEJ if your state governor was to do the same thing. It is not the FG's business. How can people who are ignorant of the most basic things in Nigeria think they are fit to condemn based on their ignorance? Beats me! Almost every single letter of what you've written is either blatantly ignorant or a plain lie. Your comments will be welcome when you have learnt the basics of Nigeria so that you aren't in confusion between FCT and FG. I can almost die of laughter here! Some NLers actually think GEJ buys bins for the FCT! Damn! |
monkeyleg:Stup!d comment. Bitterness has a wretched grip on your soul. I find it difficult to believe that a grown man like yourself cannot tackle the issue at hand without letting bile and hatred consume your arguments. We are talking about science and Emeagwali here, yet your internal sourness is leading you on a shallow tangent. I wonder when you will actually say something intelligent and worth consideration, something that isn't coloured by childish sourness. Tackle the topic and quit "agreeing" with me. Add something of value, something that reflects your age. |
I find it absolutely ridiculous that any adult would question investments in the non-oil sector. It is mind boggling! What do these folk eat? More than anything, topics like this prove the lack of brains in some "by force" commentators. The entertainment industry is a brilliant example of private sector success. The only way the country can develop is by nurturing and encouraging private sector efforts, but will the enemies of progress even apply their brains before talking crap as usual? Damn! Some clowns have even opened their mouths to say that all govt needs do, is create an enabling environment. Do these folk even know the meaning of the term, "enabling environment?" Because, it will take someone who is extraordinarily shallow to conclude that making capital available for an industry to pull from for its growth is not creating an enabling environment. If that isn't, what is? I don't particularly like the word, "retarded", but its apt here. |
egift:Damn! People won't leave batu for becomerich! ![]() |
becomrich4:After all the sensible stuff posted for the first time in your history, you end it with google and satellite pictures? Damn! Dude, you don kolo bad bad! |
Ekwueme joins Jonathan/Sambo team . Monday, 08 November 2010 00:00 Nigerian Compass .Share 0 •The Anyaoku connection •Igbo in Lagos promise President millions of votes •South-West votes certain, says Oyinlola Emmanuel Enyinnaya Appolos & Joshua Dada, Osogbo THE anti-Jonathan forces in the South-East have lost a big fish in the build-up to the 2011 elections. Less than a month after he was locked out from chairing a conference of anti-Goodluck Jonathan Presidential Campaign rally in Owerri, the Imo State capital, former Vice-President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, has joined the President’s camp and has already been named as a director in the group. The Nigerian Compass learnt that the former Secretary-General of The Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, played a crucial role in Ekwueme’s movement to the camp. “He was convinced of the good intention, which the President has for the country and was told that if two pilots are flying a plane and one dies, the other pilot does not abandon the plane because of zoning. He will ensure that he flies the plane to a safe destination. That is exactly what Jonathan is doing and when we convinced him, the former Vice-President decided to join the Goodluck/Sambo team. He did it because he believes in one Nigeria,” said a source. The former Vice-President played a crucial role in the Chief Simon Okeke-led South East Consultative Forum (SECF), a group seen to be against the President’s interest, before joining Jonathan’s camp. Also, the General Assembly of Ohanaeze-Ndigbo has ratified the position of the Ambassador Raph Uwechue-led executive that Ndigbo will support Jonathan. The ratification was done by delegates from the five South-East states, including Delta (Anioma) and Rivers State, to the Ohanaeze General Assembly held at the organisation’s headquarters in Enugu on Saturday. A communiqué issued after the Assembly reads in part: “On the support of Ohanaeze Ndigbo for the presidential bid of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan in 2011 elections, the General Assembly of Ohanaeze Ndigbo endorsed Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s support for the presidential bid of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan in 2011 as approved by Imeobi on 30th October, 2010.” In Lagos, the South-West campaign for the Goodluck Jonathan Presidency also received a boost as the state branch of Ndigbo, consisting of over 58 professional groups, declared their support for the project and promised to deliver millions of votes for the President. The group, according to their co-ordinator, Chief Basil Osuokwu, said if Nigeria must move forward, then Jonathan must be elected next year “to continue the good work he is doing.” Osuokwu, who led the leaders and the representatives of the various groups, amongst them the Igbo Town Unions, Lagos Market Associations, and other Non-governmental bodies during a visit to the South-West Coordinator of the Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Council, Governor Gbenga Daniel in Maryland, Lagos, said that “we believe strongly in your leadership qualities as the South-West Coordinator and we want you to consider our group as part of the potent force, which you can use to actualise the Goodluck/Sambo project.” He said the group was committed to the comprehensive and beneficial articulation and promotion of strategies of the Igbo man in the larger Nigerian comity, pointing out that “with our cohesive and strong network and untainted reputation, we are ready to mobilise the entire Igbo race to the candidate who means well for the Igbo and we have no doubt that Goodluck Jonathan is the man who can move Nigeria forward.” Osuokwu praised Daniel for his commitment to the project, noting that such tasks could only be handled by an experienced, trustworthy and dependable leader. Responding, Daniel thanked the group for the visit and expression of support, describing the Igbo as very important in the emergence of a nation called Nigeria He said he has had a long-lasting relationship with the people of South-East extraction, both in private business and public office, stressing that their nationalistic posture has underscored the much desired peace and unity germane to the progress of a nation The governor described Jonathan as “a symbol of hope for a new Nigeria”, pointing out that he is a trustworthy leader who was committed to the advancement of humanity Said Daniel: “ Hope is the ticket which Goodluck/Sambo ticket represents and no matter whom you are and where you are, you will get to the pinnacle” In Osogbo, the Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has said that the South-West is with the Goodluck Jonathan- Namadi Sambo Presidential aspiration. Oyinlola made the declaration yesterday while receiving the Campaign Organisation of President Goodluck Jonathan led by its Director-General, Alhaji Dalhatu Tafida, in the Government House, Osogbo. The governor stressed that the South-West had taken a position to support the Jonathan/Sambo ticket even before the declaration by the President to seek the mandate of the people in the 2011 elections. While admitting that he, like any other person in the party, could have personal relationship with other presidential aspirants in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Oyinlola stressed that the joint decision of the zone to support Jonathan “is binding on all”. He urged the Campaign Organisation to continue to reach out to other interest groups critical to the realisation of its objectives. Tafida, in his speech, said the PDP should go for the Jonathan- Sambo ticket for political stability, accelerated development and the unity of the nation. He referred to the President and his deputy as newbreed politicians who had not been tainted by the politics of the nation’s past. Tafida commended the matured way Oyinlola had been playing his politics even as he noted the atmosphere of peace prevailing in the state. http://www.compassnewspaper.com/NG/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=69577:ekwueme-joins-jonathansambo-team&catid=43:news&Itemid=799 |
koruji:If you look slightly deeper, you will spot what I am saying. The govt is ready to probe Emeagwali, because he's been blowing his trumpet; thats highly ironic when genuine talents have cried out for govt and been left to their own devices to rot away and suffer in frustration, at home and even worse, in foreign lands. |
DapoBear:Thanks for enlarging my small head! ![]() I agree with you that it shouldn't be a sudden thing, in fact I think 4 to 5 years might be too short. Also, rather than continuing with the governors monthly Abuja begging bowl trips throughout the transition period, each state would be given a 1 year period to identify revenue sources, write feasibility studies and business plans to submit to the FG. The Fg will in turn broker a finance deal with oil money that has been set aside for the transition project. The FG will also negotiate soft repayment plans with the ND states, either as cash payments or shares etc. With the above, everyone will get a fair deal and enough time and money to grow. ND states would also be repaid for financing the plan. |
