msaalli:We have state govts employing such high numbers of redundant staff, because they get free money. It is disgusting; like the rest of the country, even ND states produce fck all outside oil. Free money encourages waste and corruption. The only way to solve Nigerias problems from corruption to development, is by instituting true federalsim. Let every state look within for ways to generate local wealth, or starve. If we do this, you'll be stunned at Nigeria's breakneck development speed and the quick death of corruption. |
I think it is the right step for the govt to take. It is high time govt got interested in those who are talented, and it shouldn't stop with Emeagwali. All Nigerians who have made claims to genius should be investigated and anyone found to be fraudulent should be declared so by govt and jailed as fraudsters whenever they step into the country; conversly, those genuine Nigerian talents that have cried for help over the years and only faced abandonement, ridicule and scorn must get the sort of support other nations give to their gifted ones. |
If you don't run from the babe then your character type is sadomasochistic. I hope the grammer will give you the common sense to act in your own interest. |
So there is a new type of "freedom fighter?" A "freedom fighter" that ra'pes, kidnaps, steals from and slaughters their own people! Na wa! Osisikankwu has failed in his bid to moralise his evil actions. The goat should be summarily shot when he is found. More than anything, we need to rush the training of our anti-terrorist squads and modernise the police. Soldiers are not trained to do police work, that is why Osisikankwu is running rings around them. |
DapoBear:The bolded is a very good question. FG allocations have made Nigerians lazy and corrupt. In saner countries, LG's would be the main revenue generators, they would pay taxes to the state govt, which will in turn pay taxes to the FG. The system we run in Nigeria is strange and unheard of, it isn't difficult to see that it is at the root of our developmental problems. |
It is wrong for the FG to share money to states. Without true federalism, Nigeria will never develop. |
auwal87:Up Arewa! ![]() Anyways. . . Every area you have mentioned has been mismanaged for decades and cannot be remedied with plan less investment. These are areas that need brain power at this time not money. It will take at least a few months to plan and act on any policies on technology, agriculture etc; whereas, the entertainment industry knows which way it is going and any monies put in will not disappear into a chaotic abyss. |
ola olabiy:Funny. ![]() Dude its a free World o! Why I go kill you wen I no de chop pesin? |
Abagworo:That is Okah's story. He is just a mere civilian, so why believe he can identify a spy? His story is very weak. The govts position on the other hand, is that Chima Orlu worked for Okah and Okah gave him the order to set off the bombs. What I find strange is that Okah waited this long to not only accept that he knows Chima Orlu, but swore an affidavit to support the fact. |
JaaizTech:I think you are only listening to yourself and going off on a tangent. Firstly, if we double the number of educated people in the country, job opportunities will increase exponentially, it is impossible to point out a poor country or even one with high unemployment where the citizens are educated. Education produces a multiplier effect whose end result is to tremendously improve quality of life (that also includes the creation of jobs and opportunities). To claim that education is useless is to wildly misfire. There is no argument about whether there are brilliant Northerners or not. It is about the proportion of our 10 million almajiri's that could have turned out industry captains or Nobel Laureates. 10 million is by no means a trivial figure, its magnitude alone points to a crisis of immense proportions, but it is only in Nigeria that some would point to the existence of a handful of names (a couple of them, very dubious) as reason why educational decay in their community is permissible. The last census of almajiri's in Kano city alone in 2006, put the figure for that city at 1.2 million! If that isn't Nigeria's biggest problem, I wonder what is. If the masses of minds in North and South have to meet, agree and compromise, then the majority of minds on both sides must be educated, otherwise there can be no common understanding. What are kids that grew up attending schools going to have in common with kids that grew up as almajiri's? Without equality in education, the masses in the North and South can never agree. |
The entertainment industry is our only wholly indegenious growth story and one of GEJ's stated goals is to diversify our economy. As a growth area with tremendous promise, it is only right that the entertainment industry is encouraged, invested in and financed. Music and Nollywood have been great job providers, but there is still a long way to go. The US has Hollywood, why can't we build toward something similar? Hollywood generates much more than oil will ever give us (and thats not including the US music industry etc). Not all growth will come from manufacturing, some will come from other sectors. I don't see why we should try to shoot it down as not worthy of recieving govt help. The ASUU strike is something that will be dealt with by negotiation and laws, same as NLC; these are things that need time, patience and understanding, not the flick of a pen. In the meantime, the country needs to invest in areas outside oil, which is proving not to be enough to meet ASUU, NLC and other costs. What are you really asking for? |
EzeUche0:Dude, you're so stup!d you should be in a zoo. ![]() |
EzeUche0:Fck you and your support. You are as inconsequential as the next cockroach. Dimwitted son of Chima Orlu. It must be really difficult living the existence of a cretin, please can you tell NL about your day to day routine? ![]() How do you survive? Cos you seem too sup!d for even that primal purpose |
excanny:Ask the South African court, they have the affidavit. Thankfully the legal profession is peopled by folk with very high IQ's, interpreting the meaning of documents is the least of their problems. The court interpreted the document, go ask them, you will find out that to the court, Chima Orlu and Justin Malcolm Umejesi are one and the same criminal with multiple identities. |
EzeUche0:Your low IQ dragged you into the mess you find yourself. Sometimes I wonder if you realise how much of a fool you sound? Here you are bursting your veins in stup!dity, because Okah has sworn an affidavit in a South African court that says he is quite close to Chima Orlu. Will your disgracefully tribalistic behaviour here change the affidavit? I really pity you. What will you do when Chima Orlu is arrested? Hang yourself? Fool. As for your support of the Niger Delta struggle, it really is a personal desicion that doesn't give you the license to unleash your logically impeded mind on topics that are way above your low level of comprehension. . . .In the meantime, submit "daddy" Chima to the law, since you seem to have him. |
EzeUche0:Thats the best you can do? Shame! What more can one expect from the son of Chima Orlu? Go on son! Defend your daddy! ![]() |
Where's everybody? ![]() Its to Abu Dhabbi for the championship then! |
EzeUche0:We have already established that Chima Orlu is your daddy, so what next? Nobody gives a fck whether he is Igbo or Igbira. Tribalistic dimwit. |
excanny:Has your native doctor told you the mysteries the rest of us aren't aware of? That is the only way you can know for definite what is in Okahs memory and how he is using it, all the way in distant SA. Ridiculous. |
From the rate at which Webber is catching Vettel, its possible Red Bull have suddenly come to their senses and turned Vettels engine down (my opinion). |
He said, ”Let us look at the structure of the union. There are two units, the junior staff and the senior staff. The ones that are always at the forefront are the junior staff, the National Union of Electricity Workers. The secretary-general of the union, from what I understand, is not a worker of PHCN.Very interesting observation. Talk of crying more than the bereaved! The man probably imports generators or transformers as well. |
The same thing that happened to the fuel mafia will happen to the NEPA mafia, just that this time we need to jail the bastar'ds. |
omar22:Interesting! Whats your username? I used to be a member there around 2007 to about 2009 (I think) as Massive_Messon. I still browse the forums on the odd day; there's always the entertaining poster like spactacularsteve and his belief that F1 is worthless, because he thinks the cart racer, Marco Ardigò will beat all F1 drivers (especially Lewis) . Damn! But, there are a some very knowledgable folk there too, including people in auto racing. |
excanny:No serious person cares about Chima Orlu's ethnic group. Perhaps, his immediate family would feel shame, but nobody really gives a damn whether he is Igbo, Isoko or Hausa. |
Abagworo:What an analysis! Its almost funny! Ok, so SSS set off a bomb, then published the picture of one of its officers, published his facebook links and sent Interpol on him. Some darn "clever" thinking there! I'm waiting for changes to the Okah luv'n narrative when Chima Orlu is finally clamped. A more thoughtful way to view things would be to reason that Okah is simply dumping on Chima Orlu, the exact same way he dumped on his own blood brother, Charles. |
I'm totally shocked, stunned and flabbergasted that anyone attempted to kidnap Jenson! Were they blind? Of what use would he have been to them? I think it was a mistake though and the real target was Lewis. Damn! |
Where are Okahs numerous new found lovers? Are they all skulking into the shadows and murky caves, chased by the shame of the mans increasingly revealatory trial? A few weeks ago, they were defending the mans part in the Abuja bombing like he was their blood brother. It pays never to jump to conclusions and to await evidence in each unfolding case. Rather, most of us argue based on ethnic affiliation and sentiment. |
Solomon227:Mint. |
alj harem:Its funny the way you make so much noise. If you have ever been to even the worst parts of the South, you would be amazed, and might never return to your ex-Kanuri village. We have achieved so much without enslaving each other, so much so that languages are lost as in your unfortunate case; with people like you, no wonder it is so easy for whole states to embrace sharia and join the ride backwards to the 14th century. |
sbeezy8:Don't worry, they will soon reveal "Adewale." ![]() @topic The noose must be really tightening around Okah, that why he has suddenly realised that he knows Chima Orlu as a friend and actually once accomodated him. Even Okah's wife too, knows Chima Orlu: Okah’s wife, Azuka, told The Associated Press that she recognised the picture of one of the alleged masterminds in the newspaper and originally pointed it out to her husband.http://www.compassnewspaper.com/NG/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=69467:okah-recognises-bomb-blast-suspect&catid=43:news&Itemid=799 |

Are there enabling environment plus infrastructure for we southerners who passed through several levels of education to actually create jobs.
