The 1% of the population who understand the "Nigerian game" are far from tribalistic. Indeed, they put their pockets before both nation and ethnicity. Ethnicity is used as both a power base and a vicious divide and rule weapon against the remaining 99%. We hear about Afenifere, Arewa and Ohaneze; they are all fucking tools of the elite 1%. Obviously, if we want to progress and overthrow the status quo, we are better off seeing one another as fellow humans. |
^Fool decieving itself. |
McKren:A stitch in time saves. . . The alternative for Nigeria is disaster. We can't afford to swallow temporary fixes while our situation gets increaseningly untenable; even "small" Ghana has overtaken us on the international scene. The longer we wait to fix the problem the more realistic the CIA's prediction of violent breakup by 2015 becomes. Our politicians arent blind, they have seen that the only way to depressurise the system is by fiddling with the constitiution, but they are the wrong people for the job. The truth is that, the moment it is attempted it will set off a chain reaction that will bring change like a flood. We must continue hammering the point until that day comes. |
^Innocent ignorance shining there. You have never been to the ND. Military baracks in the creeks, thats too funny! Even the navy can't survive there. |
McKren:You bet we are ready! The current constituition is the reason for the Nigerian mess. |
Keyamo is still young, so you never know. The thing is let us work so that there will not be a need for a new Gani. |
Why is it not surprising that a bastion of corruption would want the status quo to persist, they keep their own people down with poverty and illiteracy. In fact, lack of formal education should become a crime. The current pyramid structure of the "Federation" is the foundation for the two pillars of corruption in Nigeria; the federal and the state/regions govts. It must be changed. Corruption is a Nigerian malaise that exists only because the country is set up opposite to the dictates of common sense and the norm in developed countries. Money flows from the FG to the state/regions, instead of the opposite. Money flows from state/region govts to LG’s instead of the opposite. . . A good way to keep the FG all powerful and unaccountable with everyone visiting to patronise. Even worse is the fact that because what should be state/regional affairs are conducted at FG level, therefore accountability is disconnected from state/region and lost in a maze of FG level corruption. If money flowed from state/region to FG, it will make the FG accountable to each state/region (one pillar of corruption down). Also, if money flowed from the LG to the state/region instead of the other way round, state/region govts would be 100% accountable to their people (the other pillar of corruption down). The current structure is also directly responsible for our developmental backwardness. States/regions see no reason to develop their local resources or industries when all the governor has to do is go to Abuja for money. Money that only a genius can trace, so the gov pockets the money. Easy! Why develop? Any governor that goes against the grain soon faces the wrath of the powers that be; witness Fashola and his struggles with the FG. He must conform to the corrupt structure or give up power. The only way we can develop is to change the structure of the country and give each region 100% resource control. Then, sit back and be shocked at the resources that Nigeria has; watch us attain “vision 2020” in less than 2 years. We will have our states/regions in very healthy competition for who is the richest or the most technologically advanced or who has the best schools and tourist attractions. Right now, the only competition is for who has the biggest population so they can get more money from the FG; its called "either have sex parties or fudge census figures" for development. |
It is stupid to put Obama's head on IBB's body. Have a little respect man! One made his name working for welfare at street level, the other's crooked story is well known. It is annoying. Refrain from foolishness. |
back2back:Stop talking bullshit. Every single person that has quoted you says its bullshit, so bullshit it is! It isn't even worth countering. @topic Ribadu is the exact sort of man we need in Nigeria, either as president or other powerful position. He has honesty, dedication and steel; the very qualities needed for the contruction of a new Nigeria. Like I said earlier, I will vote for Ribadu anyday. I am sure 95% of the country will too; we are sick of being corrupt and backward. |
SapeleGuy:I read that and changed my mind from what I posted earlier. I am impressed with Sylva's vision, about the need to diversify the states economy from oil and set up varied industries and international opportunities. Development comes from the creation of opportunities. We need to give time for Yenegoa to be built out of what used to be nothing more than a huge forest. It can indeed become a stella capital city with vast opportunities outside oil. |
By the Grace of God, one day a man with both honesty and the steely constitutuition needed to change the country will rule. I will vote for Ribadu anyday. I strongly believe that a man of his calibre should seriously consider forming a political party. He doesn't even have to be on the ground to do that. |
@dayo1401 You couldn't have said it better. biina:The above is your reason for a blatantly dishonest personal attack? Your apology is accepted. |
^ "ALAMS, Goodluck and Sylva"? You are talking about money that never gets awarded, they stole other state monies. But way above that, you are begging the question. The current structure of the country facilitates corruption and backwardness; the right organ to pressure for that change is the FG. The structure of the Corruption is not unique to the Niger Delta, it is a Nigerian malaise which exists only because the country is set up the wrong way with money flowing from the FG to the states, instead of the opposite. If money flowed from state to FG, it will make the FG accountable to each state (one pillar of corruption down). Also, if money flowed from the LG to the state instead of the other way round, state govts would be 100% accountable to their people (the other pillar of corruption down). MEND is 100% right to "negotiate" with the FG. |
![]() 9ja na wa sha! Which one be "weak shit" again? But it goes with the style of sycophantic Sanusi cult followers (this is a different group from those who rationally support his actions). |
^ Delta people know the cause of their problems. Hint; no one has ever seen Governor Sylva drilling oil, neither does Bayelsa own oil wells. . . Laughable The FG owns 60% of all oil concessions, the other 40% is held by oil companies; Bayelsa gets a monthly stipend of $30 million like any other state. They wouldn't find any use for your sort of narrow minded thoughts and suggestions. Lets keep to Bayelsa state. |
^ Biina, your opening line gives your game up. Stop being funny and making it seem that every post is addressed to you (it wasn't). You really don't need to deal with every post. Especially if abuse is your only "reasonable" argument. If you are empty, simply say so and stop covering up with rudeness, you're only make yourself look foolish. Why should I even engage with a fool who thinks that challenging sharia law in Nigeria is "festering ethnic sentiments"? Even a 2 year old knows that sharia is a system of laws not an ethnicity. I'm here, laughing at you ![]() |
It is easy to see why the country is a mess. This is a state that has never been connected to the national grid, but on $30 million/ per month, the gov prefers a white elephant to building roads, schools etc instead. Shame. No one is saying the banks might not have had troubles. I don't care about the Vanguard and care even less for Dayo Coker (an obvious insider). The issue is Sanusi and his agenda (or highly improbable lack off). Sanusi's agbero methods just cannot convince any rational mind, they only raise goose bumps and intense suspicion. There are too many unanswered questions. Heading the CBN is a delicate and sophisticated task suited to the most professional and calmest of heads. Sanusi's methods have been nothing but an exercise in crudity that has only harmed our economy an further stressed an already tense polity. There were countless errors in both names, designations and figures when the CBN released its list of It speaks of shabby leadership; worse, it hints at darker and underhand tactics, like there is an agenda to work backwards and fit a situation on the banks. As to the extent of the banks troubles (if there were any); it is impossible to believe a Central banks that gets figures on debtors so wrong that it has invoked a cloud of potential lawsuits. Thing got to such an extreme that the Nigerian Bar and legal practitioners in their individual capacities felt uneasy enough to directly warn the CBN to keep within the law. The CBN is not the jungle. So much noise and fanfair was made over issues that would have been better dealt with by an application of wisdom. The question is why? I expect an unravelling. |
Na wa. If this is true, the banks were not at all insolvent. Lets wait and see sha. |
okunoba:And your own "brilliant" contributions have been absent? |
^Look at this clown talking soccer ![]() In fact I'm going to find enough Ghanian babes with yansh like banku to "punish" severely throughout next week. ![]() |
What rivalry? It is currently Ghana 1, Nigeria 0. While we are feeling our way through ever increasing political darkness, Ghana is forging ahead. |
larez:Ok, I thought that was all before my last post. |
^Cheers. Except there are hidden mineral discoveries up North, they aren't at all suited for any of the three technologies. There are tar sand deposits in the SW, especially Ogun state (you can see one in Lagos at Oketapas), but these havent yet been exploited because of cost. Some idea of the scope of this tech can be found here http://thefraserdomain.typepad.com/energy/fischertropsch_processes_btlctlgtl/ Debosky also seems to know this area very well, maybe thats his field. So if you are investing in such tech, you might as well ask him rather than get burnt. |
The truth is, e be like say dem don dey shun 9ja for diplomatic circles in favour of Ghana; resulting in immense bad bele. . . .The death of a sleeping giant. ![]() |
larez:Larez. Don't get me wrong, I am not out to make a fool of anybody, I am genuinely interested. Can you post some stuff from your guy in Germany? |
Nigeria is falling to shameful depths. Na wa! I hope this is exagerated, what is the fate of the patient? I weep. |
larez:No larez, Debosky is correct (less the strong words). Also, the Fischer-Tropsche process was invented in the 1920's. |
You get these weird laws in in the UK, because society has completely broken down. Even family is replaced by law, misbehaving kids are given ASBO's (Anti-Social Behaviour Order); all sorts of crap. |
;d |
^Shouldnt they create the farms and roads to transport the produce first? |
