. . .Maybe all Nigerians can begin to agitate for a National Conference?
It really shouldn't be about where MEND will strike next.

debosky:
How can MEND not have weapons? How do you blow up a jetty and kill 9 individuals without weapons?

Who was being trained and held in the Camp 5 run by Tompolo? Kindergarten students? huh

Of course they have weapons - what will be termed as an 'army' is open to interpretation, since they are not a sovereign state they might not be able to use that designation. The fact remains that they have an armed force that is being used to perpetrate these attacks.

It may not possess a unified command structure, but it does work quite effectively in terms of wreaking havoc on oil infrastructure in Nigeria.
MEND gives weapons to the willing. The system is being used to counter the system.

@debosky.
MEND is playing an incredibly brilliant chess game.
Unfortunately, Nigeria is the first country to face "Open Source" warfare targetted at economic disruption. More here http://globalguerrillas.typepad.com/globalguerrillas/2008/06/global-oil-unde.html

The system is being used to eat up itself. MEND has no weapons or army. But they have a just cause.

Like I have been saying everywhere on this forum; Sao Tome and principe could have successfuly attacked Atlas Cove. The attack lasted three hours yet succeeded.

Could you tell me how this supplies fuel to "almost the entire country"? If you are quite familiar with our downstream distribution network, you will withdraw the statement. or may be I'm reading you wrongly
It supplies 35% of the fuel used in the nation.
Ignorant people are talking about "tribe" whereas MEND has shown that even Sao Tome and Principe can cripple Nigeria. Because of corrupt politicians.

More from the same source:
"Henry Okah is likely someone you have never heard about. Despite that, he is one of the most important people alive today, a brilliant innovator in warfare. A true global guerrilla."
Politics › The Real Henry Okah (mend) by Beaf(op): 6:20pm On Jul 14, 2009
Henry is a burly man who speaks with a cultured British accent, a consequence of his upper class upbringing and his education in Nigeria's private school system. His mind is another interesting combination: the discipline of engineering, gained through his experience as an engineer in Nigeria's merchant marine, and the believability of a successful salesman that used to sell handguns for personal protection door to door.

How is this different from what happened in 1966 when Soldiers killed politicians from a particular ethnic group and claiming that they were the corrupt ones.

And when was the last time fuel refined from PH or Warri was channelled to the South west?

It is funny people keep forgetting that Yorubas also have a clan who understands the creeks better than the Ijaws. . we will remind them that no ethnic group can monopolise violence.

I'm quite aware of that Agaba and that just because of the depth of south east territorial waters. But what of the system 2EX and system 2CX that serves the South East? Are those dynamites-proof?
Do the f.ucking refineries in Warri and PH even work? No! They're just symbols of failure; which have resulted in "lovers of Nigeria" building deports to import fuel whereas we are a major oil producing country.
Whats the point in bombing skeletons?

There is likely a cover-up. Who know? huh
There is no cover up, its just the unfortunate state of affairs in 9ja with inept people handling strategic positions.

Sao Tome and Principe might well have carried out the attack. God forbid!

Politics › Questions, Questions by Beaf(op): 4:16pm On Jul 14, 2009
These are a few questions thrown up by the destruction of Atlas Cove.
[li]Why is Nigeria (a major oil producer) importing vast amounts of fuel through Atlas Cove?[/li]
[li]Why is a single loading dork (Atlas Cove) supplying 35% of Nigeria's fuel needs?[/li]
[li]MEND attacked Atlas Cove at 8pm and exploded the place at about 11pm; during this 3 hour attack, where were military reinforcements?[/li]
[li]Atlas Cove is within sight of Bonny Camp, what sort of communications problems were there, surely someone must have seen something?[/li]
These are just symptoms of how inept the people running our nation are. . . Unending questions lipsrsealed
its sad that the actions of a few will stain the reputation of a majority.

I dont know why in Nigeria, people like to bring damage on their entire tribe in the name of a "cause".
You people sit down here and make noise about corruption. When people take action, you atart seeing "tribe".

Ethnocentric cowardice.

I wonder how else the nation can be cleaned up? huh huh huh By empty talk? Or typing insults like "yarafool" (as if we some people have no fathers).

My opinion: THIS IS SCANDALOUS!!!!

IF THIS GOVT CANNOT SECURE FACILITIES IN LAGOS FROM MILITANTS OPERATING FROM N/DELTA HOW CAN WE FEEL SECURE FROM EXTERNAL AGGRESSION. GOD.

MEND you guys have to watch your advances cos if it comes inland the effect will be devastating on the innocent N/Delta community in Lagos. I sincerly don't pray for a repeat of what has happened b4.

MEND stopped the pathetic import of fuel by the country with the 5th largest oil reserves in the World.
