So this tiny place supplies the south west with fuel? I'm confused.

I thought so. Hurricane Moses is MENDs name for their current operation; it is escalating military attacks across the oil industry while negotiating a better citizen-state contract with the govt.

Its just google Wave being packaged as an os. Sad.
Its all web services and Wave, not something new and clever; similar configurations of linux failed in the mini laptop market. Google might add more zing, but I'll ratther not be tied to a company that treats privacy with levity; when the time comes this will be a major issue.

even police run away from armed robbers. what a country lol

na civilians kill delta people family?  huh why the cowards no go kill obj family or yaradua family.
This is what happens when our political representatives are hawking our souls to the highest bidder and the army is only expert at manning checkpoints and pepper soup matters.

Civilians were not attacked, an oil shipping dock was blown up to stop the flow of oil in the south west. I imagine that pipelines or depots that supply the north are likely to be blown up.

. . .One thing about Netscape. They were selling their browser!

Microsoft gave us the free browser. So the web is now democratic.

A lot of the anti-MS religion is down to the bitternes of netsape after MS won (and even planted a giant IE logo in netscapes fountain  grin).
MS is better for the average joe than linux ever will be.

This is how we in the Delta grew up. While larkeys signed away first our futures, then our childrens futures. . . Its goto stop.
These fires never go out and whole cities can have an acrid odour of burning gas for days on end. Children grow up in the fumes, mothers prepare food in an atmosphere packed with carcinogenic particles. Farmers go out to feilds killed for generations by pollution, fish and animals died out long ago.
The Niger Delta people are being poisoned for the sustenance of Nigeria; this time the fight has been taken up. . .

If the so called majority groups in Nigeria are too fearful to ask for a contract between citizen and state; the Niger Delta people, having nothing to lose,  once again take their destiny in their hands.

Confirmation
LAGOS (AFP) — Nigerian rebels have taken their battle with the government into the country's main city, targetting an oil tanker loading facility in Lagos harbour in an unprecedented attack on the metropolis.

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) said the attack had left the facility in flames after the sound of an explosion just before midnight on Sunday reverberated across the city of 16 million people.

The government later confirmed the attack which came hours before treason charges against one of MEND's senior leaders were expected to be dropped as part of an amnesty deal.

The MEND campaign against Nigeria's main oil facilities over the past three years have badly hit much needed oil revenues.

MEND said its fighters carried out the "unprecedented attack" on the Atlas Cove Jetty in Lagos harbour on Sunday night. It said in a statement that the "depot and loading tankers moored at the facility are currently on fire".

"We encountered some slight resistance from the Nigerian navy guarding the facility but they were easily over-powered. Over nine may have been injured or killed," said MEND.

Military, police and government spokesmen all confirmed the attack.

The International markets have seen how MEND absorbed the aircraft, amoured and naval bombardment; only to expand their sphere of influence.
They rightly believe Nigeria is on the brink. So prices go up.

Atlas Cove Jetty is (NNPC) Nigerian property. First built in 1979, and rebuilt by Messrs Julius Berger in 2000. You see why isaid mend is losing focus?
Putting it simply. blowing up PH refinery to get attention. Whose gonna suffer for that ? US!!!
Oh you think Niger Delta people should be slaves eh?
We hear wazobia and all that bullshit in Nigeria but people are waiting for Delta minorities to act first.
~~~It does not take a rocket scientist that attacking Lagos is a recipe for disaster on the part of MEND and the ethnic groups they claim to represent (of which Yorubas in Ondos ought to be amongst if truth be told), however it is obvious that MEND is not really out to protect Niger Delta interest, but really out to protect the interest of a few ethnic groups in the Niger Delta, considering that i have had reasons to understand that some Regions of Abia, Calabar, Port-Harcourt might not mono-ethnic hence the question, who is MEND actually representing (themselves or others)
. . .Yorubas . . .Yorubas . . .Yorubas blah, blah and other rubbish
MEND bombed a major oil terminus. What does that have to do with Yoruba's. Abi you breath ozone?
MEND isn't fighting Yoruba's and the oil came from the Delta.
Please stop the cackling huh
Mowire:
I think this claim is FALSE and a cheap propaganda.
If it were true the news will by now be everywhere on the streets of Lagos. There is no such news on the street; no sound of sirens (as of fire engines) and no unusual movements (helicopters) in the air! There is no huge smoke that will be indicative of fire of the magnitude that would result from this claim!
I'm in Anthony village, right along Ikorodu road, if any such explosion and fire outbreak exists I should at least be able to behold the smoke even if I don't hear the explosions, and the traffic ought to have come to a stand still by now.
THIS CLAIM IS
(MOST LIKELY) A LIE!!!
NLders should try to verify some of this guys' claims before posting.
I will still watchout anyway
So you can see Apapa area from Antony? Na wa! shocked
The religious quote is just to show that even we READ bible, we never understand whats inside otherwise, AFRICA would have progress.
back2back:
It is 100% relevant. If we had bother to see knowledge we would have know why Obama came to Ghana and not believe the official version.
Point noted. Africans should read between the line and seek information to make inform decision about their future.
Democracy in Africa is surely last thing on Obama's mind otherwise he would not have visited Mubrak, the sit-tight Egpytian dictator in June.
Is this madness? huh huh huh
You post an interesting article. . . Then you start spouting bullshit.
