Good one Modified*** I would have loved to go straight to the topic but since tradition demands it and it is also noteworthy that this is my 1st FTC, I need to celebrate. So I thank God for His unquantifiable and unparalleled grace in my life, without Him, I'm nobody. I also thank Mr Seun Osewa for creating this innovative, educative, informative and entertaining platform, may God take you higher. I thank NYSC for paying my allowance that made me to subscribe and thanks to GEJ for increasing it to 19800, the 9800 being paid before is so inhuman. MTN eshey gan ni, haters may hate you and badmouth you, although you people can be useless at times but I remain loyal. I thank my family, people of my state except that useless governor Aregbe rubbish, I thank my girlfriend Chioma, that Ebonyi queen that always make my heart and body do Ghizz ghizz, shoutout to all Batch B Corp members in Bekwarra LG Cross River state, all nairalanders and all agents of Transformation. May God bless us all as we seek a good future for our country. No general can take us back to the old ages. Kudos to the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Lord is your strength and may he uphold you and lead you to victory. President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, may God be with you as you lead this nation. The bible says we should obey our leaders because they are God's representatives on earth, no man can attain leadership except God wills it. There is nothing Obasanjo, Atiku, Tinubu and Buhari can do about this divine mandate. It has been sealed till 2019. Let there be peace and unity in your four corners, Nigeria I say peace be with you, by the prayers of the saints, Nigeria you are exalted. HAPPY SUNDAY TO YOU ALL |

Isn't it awesome that Babangida and OBJ started tweeting 2 months to the election? Buhari has 1million in his account yet his campaign team is almost outspending the PDP. Who is deceiving who? |
Some 1diots on nairaland will just stay in the comfort of their rooms and be praising sub-humans like Aregbe to high heavens. The problem with our people is they don't travel around. This same Aregbe who has not paid salaries or pension for months now. He's been at logger-heads with tertiary institutions academic staff for months now. Nothing is working in Osun. Before you run your mouth, it's my state of origin so I know what I'm saying. He last paid my popman's pension in July 2014. Thank God he doesn't have to depend on the pension for survival, but what about the thousands of others who have no other means? |
soroptimist:The same way FELA was jailed by Buhari for carrying foreign currency; his hard-earned money. |
Whether a southern president is ruling well or not is not my biz, my biz is northerners will not continue having it their way as if they own all of us. If GEJ is not doing well, let APC field another person from his region. North does not own Nigeria. I'm a student of history, I will never forget how northerners have been turning southerners against one another just to gain power. No matter how bad a northerner is performing in govt, Northerners will never condemn him. But we in the south always sell off on our own. I'm a Yoruba and God willing me and my family have decide that it's GEJ till 2019. |
dulux07:Sop because you benefited during someone's regime does not make that person a good leader? Cool. May God punish Fashola for cleaning up Lagos. How about that? |

They should go to court and if they don't like the courts, they should protest on the streets like Amaechi said. I trust the soldiers. |

Mods front page o. Let those political halleluyah boys that have been running their mouths that Aliyu is not for GEJ see their yansh outside. Party Loyalty and Honesty. PLH 101 by Dr. Babangida Aliyu. Tambuwal needs to take this course. |

At times when I look at how APC e-rats reason I can only come to the conclusion that some spiritual forces must be at work. Their thinking defies logic. They'll call someone clueless, slow and dumb today but call him Pharaoh and Nebuchadenezzar tomorrow. |
Mubarack44:Yes corrupt people don't support Pa Buhari but Glo Mega Byte (GMB) can go about campaigning with 4 private jets. Seems those jets are owned by honest people from the proceeds of their labour. |

The pro-human rights group, the Civil Liberties Organisation, has said the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan deserves commendation for advancing the frontiers of fundamental human rights in the country. The group, which addressed the press in Lagos on Tuesday, said Jonathan should be lauded for his commitment towards the entrenchment of democratic ideals and values in the country. The CLO President, Igho Akeregha and Executive Director, Ibuchukwu Ezike, who jointly addressed the press, said that by creating a more democratic and freer political space, Jonathan’s administration had been able to stem the tide of politically-motivated assassination as was witnessed in the recent past. It also cited the signing into law of the Freedom of Information Act, the independence of the judiciary, observation of the 35 per cent affirmative action on women’s participation in governance and the recent National Conference as gestures which exemplified Jonathan’s commitment towards the respect for the sanctity of citizens’ fundamental human rights in the country. It said, “It is worthy to note that the state of basic and fundamental rights have generally improved under the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan… The CLO also observes that there is still a long way to go in consolidating the human rights situation in Nigeria but is encouraged by the resilience of the current administration in entrenching democratic ideals and values in governance processes. “In the area of political assassinations, the country has witnessed remarkable progress as there is hardly the occurrence of the ugly incident. The cases of the late Harry Marshal, Bola Ige, Funsho Williams, Dipo Dina, Daramola in Ekiti, Dr. Ogbonnaya Uche in Imo and many others are sad reminders of the past.” The organisation, however, expressed concern over the spate of political violence in the build-up to the general elections in spite of the Peace Accord recently signed in Abuja. It warned that pre-election violence could easily undermine the democratic gains recorded by the country in the last 16 years. It said that if Nigerians were not reassured, there might be a low turn-out on the Election Day, a situation which it said might put a question mark on the credibility or general acceptance of the eventual winner of the poll. www.punchng.com/news/clo-scores-jonathan-high-on-human-rights/ |
NIGER State Governor, Babangida Aliyu, on Tuesday said that he had no sympathy for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) because his (Aliyu’s) political ambition in 1983 was truncated by Buhari, who became the head of state following the December 31, 1983 coup that ended second republic. The governor, however, said he had forgiven the former head of state. Aliyu said this at the President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign rally in Minna, the Niger State capital. Apparently referring to reports listing him as one of the governors who have sympathy for the candidature of Buhari, Aliyu said he believed in loyalty and would not leave his party and support someone from another party. “Some people are saying some of us have sympathy for Buhari; I personally, my political ambition was truncated by Buhari in 1983, my people elected me into the House of Representatives, I was annoyed but I have forgiven him. It gives me a lot of opportunity to further my study,” the governor said. According to him, the APC presidential candidate may have “personal qualities” and may be honest but that those qualities did not translate into public policies. He said, “I must say this, Buhari may be honest as an individual, we may admire him for his personal qualities but believe me, those qualities do not translate into public politics. “I am a PDP man, I believe in loyalty, if I have left PDP, I would have resigned my mandate as a governor because that mandate is in PDP. If anyone says the PDP is bad, he should leave all the property and all they got while they were in the party. They cannot because they know they will lose everything. We must bring the values of honesty back,” he said. www.punchng.com/news/buhari-truncated-my-political-ambition-aliyu-2/ |
Like my people will say buredi o ki n se ounje obo, obo n roju ni. Meaning: bread no be monkey food monkey just manage am. This one don pass make up na make over. berem:Ironically I'll say blessed is that man that married/will marry a baby elephant like you. Anytime you speak, you reek of someone who lacks a capacity to use her brain very well. It will even be an insult to a sewer rat to call you one. How low can you go? Can you even go lower than this? Wait is anything wrong with you? Are you cursed or suffering from a generational infirmity? Do you have a family or have you been neglected? If you have one, they should have found a solution to your spiritual ailment. Were you not the one hailing Rev Fr. MBarca or MChelsea to high heavens when he endorsed Buhari? Now they said some pastors endorsed Jonathan and without you confirming it, you opened up that stinking gutter outlet on your face you called a mouth to insult men of God. Nobody is saying you shouldn't support a political party, but please always do it with decorum and with utmost respect for other persons views. Having different views makes us human. Live and let live. |
And where is Buhari on the list? |
I'm coming back Meanwhile Civilian JTF will watch over this plot till I come back. Modified**** Amaechi needs a psychiatric evaluation. It's people like Amaechi that subject Christian leaders to ridicule. I know very well how muslim clerics whether in the north or southwest canvass for votes fanatically and unrepentantly for muslim candidates in elections. In fact even elections in tertiary institutions are not left out. But you will never hear anything outside. How many times have you seen muslim politicians subjecting muslim clerics to ridicule before in the name of politics? Whether in the north or southwest the answer is NEVER. Or do you want to tell me muslim clerics don't dabble into politics at all? And those of you joining Amaechi in calling those men of God names should bury your heads in shame, that's how you unknowingly bring curses upon yourselves. Imagine one product of a failed family institution calling someone OLEDEPO. Haaa!!! It's better for some people not to be born. |
And to think that Tinubu's wife is a pastor SMH. No wonder Pastor Adeboye said all politicians are liars. |
YEEEEEEEEEEES! LEGGO! Like an advert I came across inside Tribune by Concerned Christian Youths of the North Central and Southern Nigeria. They said that Buhari filled in his presidential nomination form that he is the patron of National Association of Pastoralists but has never deemed it fit to openly condemn the senseless killings and destructions of farmlands and villages in the North central and southern Nigeria by Fulani herdsmen of whom he is their national leader. They concluded by saying they can never give him their votes no matter how badly Jonathan might have performed. Meanwhile a friend wrote this on his FB wall............. WHEN THE DITTY SEEMS ALLURING THAN THE COMMODITY: OF POLITICS AND A DEBATE. I was born and bred in Lagos and I still recall vividly what it is that entices a customer to what you sell. It is common parlance to see different sellers evolve different ditty as a measure of drawing the attention of their prospective customers. Much of this ditty become a brand with which a seller is differentiated from another. More often than not, the ditty plays a major role in determining the sales of the seller. In fact, you cannot be in a market such as Aswani,Katankow a,Oyingbo,Idumota, and a host of others, and not employ the use of a ditty. The same also applies to those who are hawking one article of trade or the other. Those who are exempted from this, as much as I know, are those whose shops are situated within a neighbourhood. However, the ditty could also be a veritable instrument of distraction and deceit. It will be foolhardy to conclude that a commodity is good or in good shape based on the way it is advertised. Experience has taught me this although some people have learnt it the hard way. There are many times that you will discover that as alluring as the ditty may be,what is being sold is nothing but a sham. Take Katankowa as an example, it is not uncommon to hear the seller shout,"Buy my cloth,na correct Grade A jean from Cotonou"(Buy this cloth I sell, it is a Grade A jean pants from Cotonou) and on sampling it, you come to discover that the Jean in question is an unworthy Grade C Jean. As a regular customer of the second-hand market, I have seen so much of this to know better. I still even recall an uncle of mine who went to buy a 'no-testing' TV. 'No-testing' is a phraseology for electronic sets that you are expected to buy without window-shopping it(although it costs less compared to those which you can window- shop). My Uncle was watching NTA newsline, less than three weeks that he bought the TV, when the TV shut down - that was the end of the TV. Political debates can be seen as a form of window- shopping. During the whole journey of campaigns, what each candidate does is to make a run-through of their manisfesto. Unfortunately, and as you find it in an inaugural lecture or a sermon, the electorates are not privileged to ask questions or allowed to have an amplified position as regards the different programmes that they seek to roll out. For instance, when a candidate list Health as one of the sectors where it aim to focus on, the debate will create the needed avenue for such a candidate to explain how he intended to go about his plans for the health sector. The debate also allows the electorates to acquaint themselves with what to expect should the candidate emerge at the polls. This is the essence of a political debate in every clime I know. As a student-politician in my university days, political debates were a way of testing the intellectual waters of each candidate as well as a way of knowing how acquainted they are with practices outside their immediate shores. In Nigeria, political debates are not a new phenomenon. It was through such debates that Nigerians got to know of the intellectual poverty of Bashir Tofa. The saddening thing however is that there seem to be a recurrent tradition of shunning debates by some political personages on thrump-up allegations. Obasanjo started it by selecting what debate to attend (He chose the NTA-organised debate); Yar'adua followed suit in 2007; and Jonathan toed the path in 2011. 2015 is here and we are already seeing a replay of such a scenario. The APC which is having a warm acceptance with the electorates is already throwing it at us that their Presidential candidate will not be attending the political debates. Suffice to say that the APC had turned down the debates earlier organised by Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) as well as that of the National Elections Debate Group (NEDG) on the ground of the partisanship of those who are anchoring the debates. I quite agree with the APC on the boycott of the two debates given the unprofessional conduct of media outfits such as AIT, NTA, and The Punch Newspaper in this whole electioneering campaign. As I have maintained elsewhere, such a debate will only be an inquisition. Does anybody remember how NTA gave Obasanjo the questions of the debate in 2003 and how someone scribbled a sheet of paper to Obasanjo's palm when a knotty question was posed at Baba? However,I am still at sea over why the APC or any party at that will refuse to participate in the Channels TV, Arise TV, Newspaper Practitioners Association of Nigeria (NPAN). Without mincing words, Channels TV has remained the only hope of the Nigerian when it comes to news reportage because of its near-objective reportage of events. Arise TV is a new online TV and it is owned by the owners of ThisDay newspaper- a newspaper that boasts of some of the best columnists in this country as well as an indepth report of news. The Newspaper practitioners are a compendium of all newspaper owners and much cannot be said of their non-partisanship. Having explained the composition of this debate, one cannot but wonder what claim of partisanship the APC aims to throw up in defence of its boycott this time around. Soludo recently admonished in his article that the debates should begin but I doubt how the debates can start when one candidate is shying away from having a debate with others. How can the electorates properly assess the programmes of candidates if debates are not held. Both Jonathan and Buhari have so much to answer and boycotting such forum amounts to an insult on the collective intelligence of the intelligentsia in this country. Let me state here that as much as the literate (By this I mean logical) ones in this country are not up to thirty percent of the total population, no party should deny this sacred population its birth-right as we are the ones that determine how the opinion poll sways. It is our duty as the intelligentsia to inform the remaining seventy percent of what our thought process should follow and we can only be informed when these candidates afford us the needed information to critically assess their ideas. As I have mentioned earlier in this article, boycotting the debate amounts to selling a 'no-testing' electronics to us. It is most pathetic that a political party will call our bluff and still expect to have our votes. That happens only in Nigeria! As much as nothing can make me go for GEJ or anything that represents it, I will not be so stupid that I will give my vote to someone I cannot conveniently assess his programmes. As much as I desire change, I do not seek a 'no-testing' change. I remembered that in 2011 when I campaigned vigorously for GMB, I criticized GEJ's refusal to attend a debate and it will amount to double standard if in 2015 my GMB is refusing to also attend a debate. As they say, those who live in glass houses must learn not to throw stones. |
