Dear princesskiki
I studied microbiology is it advisable and can i have maximum 15 points for food technologists.

Microbiologist is on the list, why assess as a food technologist?

Are your job responsibilities that of a food technologist? Did you finish from a Tier 1 university? 4 years courses in a Tier 2 universities is equivalent to an AQF Associate degree.

Now I want to verify with vetassess.
Does vetassess consider online MSc degrees?
Or do I use my BSc alone and claim for 8 years experience?

Thanks

You didn't state what your BSc is and how many years of study.

@bhanjie,

In addition to my previous posts, getting state nomination while onshore is not that straightforward compared to those offshore.

Most states require onshore applicants to be living and working in their state or study in their state to be nominated.

Sir, please any idea if hours worked is a requirement for Citizenship? Ie, if one wants to do Masters &/ Phd (part time jobs) would those years count in applying for Citizenship or would the person have to start all over?

Copied***

Requirements for citizenship are

* Living in Australia legally for 4 years, with at least one year as a permanent resident.

* Good character. Must have not committed either minor or major indictable offence.

* Language requirement. This is through a test (very easy test)

* Good knowledge of Australia.

In all the requirements, there is none about the minimum hours of work.

The work hours is only relevant when moving from visa 489 to Permanent resident visa.

You can do your PhD, you will still get the citizenship once you meet the residence requirement.

OK,my husband's job specification include oil drilling, servicing of well and heavy duty machines.Simply put,he's a rig worker.

The occupation that can match his experience is not on the skilled occupation lists.

You should look into the Canada migration.

Bhanjie,

You stated she is on subsequent entrant visa. What is the occupation of the principal visa holder?

I don't think anyone can categorically tell you chances with state nomination as it is dependent on states doing their thing. However, I do know that for management occupations, nomination is not that fast Compared to engineering and science. Nevertheless, the only way to know her chances is to apply.

What does she do in Brisbane? How about the principal visa holder?

@Bellong still waiting for your response.

What do you mean by a field engineer? What aspect of engineering does he do on the field?

For you, I can't think of a stop gap occupation due to your experience except you start the AHPRA process which is long and expensive.

Alternatively, write the UK PLAB exams. After qualifying to practice in the UK, you can stay one year there and then move to Australia.

Thanks, boss.

So, If I am calculating my points score I will have to choose zero years of work experience since my current job experience is not related to Engineering? Or is my current logistics job experience enough to claim 3 years score points under points calculator?

Experience will be zero (not relevant).

You can ask the question here, I will do well to answer.

@mobiss,

You don't need experience to get a positive assessment from Engineer Australia. Use your undergraduate thesis and industrial attachment to write the CDR.

You may not get positive assessment from AIMS.

Goodluck.

Hi All,

I obtained a diploma in electrical engineering over 15 years ago l but went back to school to get a degree in an unrelated course. I don't work as a full time electrician as I have a normal job with my new degree.
Please is this Aussie journey possible for someone like me?

Do you have evidence of payment for all the work you did as an electrician?

I will be following this thread. I don't mind dropping my contact. cry undecided

Are you married?

What is your husband's qualification and occupation?

How many years of medical experience do you have and in what areas?

The process for foreign trained doctors is long and cumbersome.

Commit na. Person wey wan kill himsef no dey announce am.

This is not true. Do well to read about the clinical and psychological reasons why people commit suicide. Also read more about suicide.

It is ignorance to say that those who have the intention don't announce it. While every suicide is different, people who announce their suicidal intention don't want to die and are seeking for help. It doesn't mean they will not carry out the threat if they don't get the help or attention they need.

Yes, some threaten suicide for attention but they still need help because they have underlying psychological needs requiring attention before it gets out hand.

Unfortunately, Many have followed through with their intention of suicide because of statement like yours.

Thanks for your response sir bellong. I currently do not have any experience in public health. I had my undergraduate study in biology education but my master in public health is on going. Do I have any prospect towards nominating any skill. Your advice will really help my inexperience.

You probably should assess as a teacher using your biology education. The important thing is having one year teaching practice recorded in your transcript if you did it.

Good evening gurus in the house, please I need some advise on the immigration path. Am a graduate of economics and been working in risk management of a bank for over 6 years. I have an ielts of 7.5 and I found economics under sub class 189. Economist does not have a direct impact on my job function but partially. Do you think I still go ahead with the assessment stating how it relates to my job function and all or I find an alternative. Also does this immigration process require some proof of funds like Canada on the long run.

This occupation is assessed by VETASSES. The key to a positive assessment is how you can relate your functions with anzsco job descriptions for an economist. If you are able to do that, you should be fine.

@bellong, sir you are obviously more knowledgeable, please what profession can a doctor nominate? Or they cant migrate directly to Aussie? My brother is in the same boat.

For doctors, it depends on his medical experience and years of experience.

Three occupations are available:

1. Medical administrator

2. Primary healthcare manager

3. Health and welfare services manager.

Congrats but it could be very risky not going against doctor's instructions especially when babies are involved. Thank God for her, some women that did same were not so lucky.
