If you are not in Australia, Queensland only require 80points and 5yrs post qualification experience.

If you get 20 points in English, you can get 5 points to make it 80 for Queensland.

A minimum of 65 points is required to be invited to apply for Visa irrespective of the subclass. Therefore, for a 489 visa, you need at least 55 points as the state will add 10 points while for a 190, 60 points is required as a minimum with the state adding 5 points.

You can only wait for the state to get back to you. State nomination is a state by state thing. If there are other states nominating your occupation, you can apply there as well.

You don't need any strategy as long as your residential address is not in Australia.

You only pay GST if you reside in Australia.

For a start, assess with TRA as an electrician or Electrical Engineering Technician whichever is easy for you.

Rewrite the English test to score at least 7 in each band. If your result is very recent, I suggest you request for a remark.

Start from the opening page and read through. You have very high chance bro..

Education: 10 points

Experience: 5 points (to be conservative, you can still get up to 10 depending on the outcome of your assessment).

English: 10 points (7 in each band) or 20points (8 in each band)

Total: 55 points (489 visa) or 70 points (189/190 visa)

The ball is in your court. Strive for 20 points in English and articulate your experience to be able to retain your 5years after assessment.

My question is; can he get a positive assessment considering his first degree is unrelated to his selected occupation. Kindly advise. Please note that he has never practiced microbiology before.

The key is, how he can convince the assessment officer that his occupation is corporate services manager by streamlining his duties against the ANZSCO descriptions.

The MBA should give him a soft landing in terms of qualification but the main thing are his job descriptions.

457 has been abolished and replaced with 482 which has very strict requirements. The employer must demonstrate beyond reasonable doubt that there is no one available in the country with the required skills.

Open an Australian bank account, give him the account details to transfer the money. You don't have any limit.

For lawyers, it is a very long road. You have to be called to the bar first in Australia before you can put in EOI.

If you read further on the website of law association of any of the states, you will understand better.

You will include details and tick not relevant box in the EOI. You don't have to provide any documents about the employment.

I have supporting documents. Their backdating my pension deductions coincided with my previous employer's pension payments by about 3years.
I have pension statements
I have previous employer's payslips (they paid cash)
I have cheque lodgements for the period they started paying by cheque.
I have a suit showing these and other irregularities
I have employment contract
I have promotion letter
I have multiple correspondences between both lawyers
I have accommodation contract
I have vehicle usage contract
I think I stand a good chance though but just worried and needed reassurance. I thought they will call them up enquire beyond employment verification.

With all the documents you have, you have nothing to worry about especially with the court documents.

No one can answer this question for you. It is dependent on your values and what you want out of life.

If you are after quality of life, I will say leave Nigeria. If making fast money is your desire, remain in Nigeria.

1. It is grouped together with Diploma, Advance diploma. Select that option.

2. Any year VETASSES did not approve is selected as not relevant. Claiming experience not approved by VETASSES will only give you a natural justice letter.

Although the migration act does not empower assessing bodies to be deducting years of experience but these set of home affairs staff are too lazy to be scrilutinising your experience. They always have a clause in the act to hide under.

To avoid story that touches the heart, don't claim any experience VETASSES deducted.

For the two years job, go to inland revenue, negotiate amount to pay for the two years. At this stage of the migration process, little omissions are no longer excused.
Ensure you get the tax certificate.

My husband does not mind get this and still putting in for 189 further down the line.

He just wants something concrete especially in this era of so much uncertainity.

Just that it means paying twice which he is open to but I just wanted to run it by other well informed members of this house.

You have two options;

1. Submit application for this one now and if everything comes through for 189, submit application for it later.

2. Or Wait till December 1 if by then you will have the points needed for 189. If not, then submit the application by December 1, 2018.

I believe nobody can make this decision for you. Since your husband is willing to pay twice, I think he should go ahead. He does not have competent or superior English score yet and you are not sure when he will have it. If you both are confident that by November, you will get all the points required, you can go with option 2. If not, option 1 will be preferred option.
