ShittimPeter: I do not support the hash tag campaign on twitter as well. To what end will that be? The process is still on going.
Someone suggested tagging "influencers" from opposition, Are they not our common enemy? No politician or an influential person is a savior of the common man.
If we don't want this recruitment to slip out of our hand, I believe we don't need any campaign right now. Let's give it time. I am compelled to agree with you on this. Eventhough I would have wanted to have any sort of official update from NNPC concerning the recruitment exercise but making noise about it on twitter will only provide leverage for some rabble rousers looking for every opportunity to politicise an issue or to blast the FG, to hijack the idea and make a mess of the whole thing. Someone even said we should desist from using certain hashtags like #NNPCScam, please how do you intend to stop thousands of twitter users from airing their "biases"? Trust me some people who didn't even know that NNPC conducted an exercise before now will seize the opportunity to haul insults @MKKyari. Recall the anti-Xenophobic protest started as a peaceful protest organised by decent Nigerians until the hoodlums hijacked it and it became a criminal activity. My advise is that we tread carefully as it is still too early to throw caution to the wind, let's still keep exploiting the official communication channels provided by NNPC and hope that they respond. My 2 kobo. |

Obasi001: Gentlemen and Ladies,
Requesting for a status update of the ongoing recruitment exercise is a great idea but I'll beg us to be civilized in our approach. The hash tag '#Nnpcnascam' and other statements in that neighborhood are too rash and confrontational, it might misconstrue our original intent thereby causing more harm than good. #Nnpc recruitment 2019, #NnpcWeAreStillWaiting, #NnpcHowfar and other polite suggestions from members of this great house will be more preferable. Above all remain positive, good will surely triumph. I pray the pessimists listen to you |

larride: Nigeria has been recklessly kind to many who hate it today. Some obtained 5yrs Degree at Ife for a cumulative tuition of less than N500K at govt expense, but got to US after paying up $20,000 sourced at govt rate for just 18months Masters, to start condemning Nigeria from Abroad.
In over 10yrs, this useless country has provided an average of $2Billion forex every year for tuition fees abroad. Some of them, their parents earned their tuition from govt payroll, lived in official quarters and drove govt cars. All from whats left that politicians didnt steal.
When @AishaYesufu studied Medicine, the money paid for her tuition is an amount close to cowries in today's Naira. If she was born in UK, with that pittance, she'd barely be educated enough to insult Boris Johnson. She'd perhaps will be a farm hand, milking cows in rural Luton.
We spend few hours at Madison Square then become saner climes comparator. At a point we started using Rwanda to demean Nigeria. Why cant @BudgITng go and @TrackaNG Kagame's project and see what will happen. Who can accuse him of human right abuses when his critics just vanish?
#NigeriaAt59 have supported our excesses. It provided for looters. It provided money we've been using to eat foreign rice. Nobody knew this useless country was carrying the entire sub-Sahara on its back. FG closed border and Urea fertiliser climbed almost 200% across west Africa.
A friend told me GTB's Gambia branch is more or less Gambia's Central Bank. GTB closing that branch is enough to plunge the region into an economy crisis. Many of our banks leverage on their in-country assets to syndicate foreign loans for Uganda, Cote d'ivoire and many others.
A pharmaceutical company has paracetamol & cough syrup worth ~N500Million heading for the borders, when twas shut. #NigeriaAt59 isn't yet where it should be, but many condemn it from a standpoint of inferiority complex. Stop projecting your low self esteem as that of the nation!

The way it was phrased was "have it in mind that resumption is so so date" which is exactly in a week time. All the best guys. @OgaJarus I would like to give insights on this coys recruitment process sir, saw one of your posts/coaching on them. Thanks. Happy independence to you all. Congrats once again bro. I am concerned about the resumption after only 1week though. Are they going to compensate for the short notice period in respect of those who have an existing job or they simply don't care how one ends it with one's current employer? |

number5: Lol...
Dreamt some hours ago that APL was released and names of successful candidates was announced on NTA.
Name number1. Scored 91, but was replaced for some "quota related reasons" in the words of the announcer. Other names were called, were all successful , only name i remembered was one Ifeanyi at number3.
When they got to @number5, local man woke up before the name could be called
I turned to the angel of dreams and was like: Two things are involved concerning your dream: 1. If you have been thinking about APL so much in your waking life, then it is only a natural phenomenon for you to dream about it, so it is just some chemicals playing tricks in your head and means nothing. 2. Spiritually speaking, for you to be there present when they were rolling out the names of successful people, it means you are one of them. Waking up at the point of @number5's name being called also has significant meaning, it implies that there are forces against it (I hope you prayed for God to help you possess your possession, if you haven't, please do so immediately, jokes apart). Note: I am not a Pastor and never used to believe in the "sh*t" I wrote in No. 2, but I have come to understand from personal experience that there are unseen battles and only the favoured ones get hints of it through dreams. Congrats in advance. |

bkamm: Lol. Shouldn't be surprising in regard a process this 'massive' though!
Well... Been away (from this thread for a while), and I seem to see that there's a certain message/believe that "APL" will be "available" on or before Oct. 5th.
Sorry to say, that's highly unlikely. Reason; there was an earlier need to review 'part of the concluded lists'. That review, "yet to be approved". The coming week is out of it sha, that's cos the 'medium' to get it approved isn't there (in the coming week).
So to say; It's got to be the subsequent weeks! Hopefully it's more closer than later. As always, best of luck people! Bros. we can only shift the goal-post when you get massive buy-ins from NLanders. For now, pls just dey your dey. Goal keeper is tayad... |

*THE COCKROACH MANAGEMENT THEORY*
A beautiful speech by Sundar Pichai; an IIT-MIT Alumnus, now Google boss.
"The cockroach management theory for self development"
At a restaurant, a cockroach suddenly flew from somewhere and sat on a lady. She started screaming out of fear.
With a panic stricken face and trembling voice, she started jumping, with both hands desperately trying to get rid of the cockroach.
Her reaction was contagious, as everyone in her group also got panicky.
The lady finally managed to push the cockroach away, but it landed on another lady in the group.
Now, it was the turn of the other lady in the group to continue the drama.
The waiter rushed forward to their rescue.
In the relay of throwing, the cockroach next fell upon the waiter.
The waiter stood firm, composed himself and observed the behavior of the cockroach on his shirt.
When he was confident enough, he grabbed it with his fingers and threw it out of the restaurant.
Sipping my coffee and watching the amusement, the antenna of my mind picked up a few thoughts, and started wondering; was the cockroach responsible for their histrionic behavior?
If so, then why was the waiter not disturbed?
He handled it near to perfection, without any chaos.
It is not the cockroach, but the inability of those people to handle the disturbance caused by the cockroach, that disturbed the ladies.
I realized that, it is not the shouting of my father or my boss or my wife that disturbs me, *but it's my inability to handle the disturbances caused by their shouting that disturbs me.*
It's not the traffic jams on the road that disturbs me, but my inability to handle the disturbance caused by the traffic jam that disturbs me.
More than the problem, it's my reaction to the problem that creates chaos in my life.
Lessons learnt from the story:
I understood, I should not react in life. I should always respond
The women reacted, whereas the waiter responded.
Reactions are always instinctive, whereas responses are always well thought of.
A beautiful way to understand LIFE.
A Person who is HAPPY is happy not because Everything is RIGHT in his Life...
He is HAPPY because his Attitude towards Everything in his Life is Right!
RESPOND TO ISSUES DON'T REACT, and keep winning.... |

GeniusOla: Mehn! This is extensive, thanks so much brother. Seen it from another perspective, A question wasn't answered pls, could the whites (nothern americans for instance) ever perceive someone to be proud? (In the negative) Thanks. They wouldn't have invented the word "arrogant" if they didn't. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by BenFlash: 4:07am On Sep 25, 2019*. Modified: 4:31am On Sep 25, 2019 |
GeniusOla: When exactly then does one cross the line to become proud or could it be that the word doesnt exist or Could it be a creation of african mentality? could the very civilised white be proud? What exactly is the context of being proud? Just needed clarity. You can actually be a proud father, if your child is doing well academically for instance. So "being proud" should not always be seen in the negative light. However, if we should dwell on the negative as your question indicates, another word for it would be "arrogance" Someone or someone's comment can come across as being 'arrogant' based on two factors - 1. Perspective/orientation 2. Level of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) 1. PerspectiveA child who says "what's up dad" as a form of greeting to his dad in America (very normal to an average American) will otherwise be considered to be a proud/arrogant/not humble child by an average Nigerian who sees him doing that to his dad here. It is simply a matter of perspective or orientation (why do you think some people almost kneel down when talking to elders on the phone?) Another instance was when @mosgoon affirmed that the same comments for which he was being vilified here on NL were considered to be normal on reddit as no one even raised an eyebrow there, which brings me to point number 2. 2 . EQ on the part of the commenterThis should prompt the commenter to conduct an informal audience profiling to know which communication style to adopt otherwise he/she will come across as someone who is seeking unnecessary attention and in some cases deemed to be proud or not humble. Emotional Intelligence is key to avoid unnecessary backlash for an otherwise "innocent" statement. Furthermore, the EQ of the audience also plays a crucial role in determining whether someone or a comment would be adjudged "proud". Some audience may see a comment, pick the relevant info and ignore the rest of the noise while the other set of audience will dwell on the "McKinsey" part that was mentioned and start vibrating. In summary, being adjudged to be proud is a matter of perspective/orientation, and the emotional intelligence of the commenter and/or the audience. There is no hard and fast rule. |
