U made the most meaningful contribution dear. Thanks. Maturity and sense of judgement is on another level. God bless
yes a very meaningful contribution,we all can't be great at the same time, grace differs, years back a college friend and myself were strolling at Apapa when suddenly a naval Jeep with excorts stop in front of us,we were wondering what's going on,a young guy who obviously the commander came right to us and start hugging us,the military guys with him were wondering how come we got to know such a senior commander not knowing we were once childhood friends,he eventually made our day and we still connect till this day. |
In festac town from alakija, ask those bike guys where adamawa sunshine bus do board passengers,it's a direct bus to Yola town, price range as at January was 7k, very distant journey, wish you a safe trip. |
thatigboman:that should be the checkpoint after madalla though am not familiar with the area, the bush just close to that NNPC station moving further is the Zuma barracks incident happened early August, |
eTECTIV:that was the exact spot our bus traveling to Jos was robbed,I had to excape by distracting them that there was cash in my bag in the booth, the fate of the rest of the passengers unknown till now, that place is a terrible place to pass especially at night, though I had injuries when one use a machete on me,I ran to that army checkpoint for help, they did their best but the bandits has find their way into the bus and they were on army uniforms with AK 47,sticks and knifes, commuters should be mindful of that road,no security in the land. |
My love for big buses goes back years ago as a young kid growing up in the ancient city of kano when sanity was still at a better level,it was in Sabon gari area,I could remember its either new road or nnewi road company bus was new Tarzan at the back they write go well, does it still exist?I can't tell, well those journeys then was fun cos traveling through from kano to Onitsha before connecting to my homeland at isoko, you appreciate the sight of nature and know that we are really blessed in this great nation,I use to give my mates in primary school the gist they will be admiring me cos most are from the north which is there home, they never had such an experience before, life was really cool in those days. Akukwe motors still exist?good transport company with good drivers then, there main office as at then was at iddo terminal, many version of buses came up then like the buscar and few others. |
I was an only child for ten years till Mum gave birth to my little sister, I was worried anytime we go to a friend ,family or neighbour that gave birth, I was longing for my own siblings, so one day I ask my Mum why is your tummy not growing like our neighbour that gave birth recently, I need a brother, My Mum could not give an answer then, she just said God plant babies in mothers belly,I was still curious I ask my Dad same question too,he said almost the same thing,in my little understanding then I refused to eat,I will tell my Mum to eat all the food she prepared so her tummy will get big as I use to say,I never knew its through copulation till I get to know in biology class, till date my Mum do tease me about leaving food for her so as her tummy will get big. |
Imagine calling gallant men cowards that fell as a result of stupid and faceless insurgency that have been on the rampage for almost a decade, which morale are you giving those in the front line?why didn't you prefer a lasting solution to stop this carnage,no good equipment, no go supplies, the wages of these men are been owed at will, well let's see what you will do,we know know who the big cowards are, rest in peace gallant men, your innocent blood will always cry for justice, for the bereaved families only God will wipe a way your tears. |
same with me too gained admission at 28 bagged two years all in the name of spilling cos I was combining work and family developed high blood pressure writing the final exams, failure would have met outright withdrawal thank God it went well. Why will Universities give admission to 16 year olds from wealthy homes. I got admission at 28. And plus extra year, I graduated at 33 years. Who be the Bastard way go make me commit suicide? Who?!
|
Mine is so full of intrigues,I had been stranded several times, many years ago I was in Abuja, looking for job all to no avail, nowhere I didn't use this my two legs trekked to,I was squatting with a cousin in jabi before it was demolished, from jabi to secretariat, all the area one to ten, maitama, banex plaza area, garki, wuse from zone one to six,I couldn't get a job,was only a secondary school leaver with a computer certificate then, had to settle as a caddy at the golf club at aso drive, work was mostly weekends, while weeks days I go for menial jobs in sites around jabi, airport road citec I worked the hell out my life there, they are still owning me 600 bucks, having pass through all these,El rufai demolition squad brought down jabi one and jabi two, daki biyu and all nearby environment, I had nobody to accommodate me,my cousin that works in a hotel at wuse zone four start staying at the hotel premises,I had no choice than to go back to my home state delta or go to my relatives place in Lagos. Where I used to work at sites in utako area, most dangote drivers was our friends,we have to be nice or in some cases bribe them with drinks so our names will be included to offload a trailer load of cement,on this particular day,I made up my mind to move to Lagos,so I ask the driver his destination he said Lagos and was happy I pleaded with him to follow them to Lagos which he gladly agreed,I collected his number, dash back to pack up my few belongings, I was so tired of abuja then,I have had enough,I call the driver after am done,he said he was on his way and that he will wait for me at gwagwalada but if I can't meet up am on my own, with 600 naira with me,a loaf of bread,I hit the road to gwags entering small cars that moved very fast,on reaching gwags no sight of the so called trailer, I called him,he said he couldn't wait that I should meet him at abaji,I quickly hit the road and moved fast on reaching abaji, the idiot said he will wait for me at lokoja,my resources was down,I said forward ever backward never,on reaching lokoja,I called and he said he can't wait that he needed to load that night and head somewhere else,I stood at lokoja helpless,no airtime to call for help,am left with 200 bucks, that can't even take me back to Abuja let alone Lagos,I roam the expressway looking at vehicles and travellers if I could see any familiar face to help,I couldn't see any, later at night when all hope seems lost,I saw some guys stop their 911 Benz truck with wooden back, from their utterance, they are heading to coker in alaba area cos they have tiling materials as goods,I waited for them to eat and have their fill, they seems so happy, I was just pitying myself, no food just half loaf of bread,I went to the one that have a calm face,I explained my plight on how I was stranded and have to go to Lagos, he felt for me and met the driver who shouted and send me away, that am a criminal running away,I showed him my school ID card and personal documents, I kept pleading till one soldier just came from nowhere and asked, where una dey go,they replied him Lagos and he just went and sat at the front sit,you this stupid boy where you dey go,asked the soldier,I quickly ask him na Lagos you dey serve or you dey pass?that question from me made him to come down,so you be barracks boy,I said yes,he asked me so many military terms and I answered him well without thinking twice, driver na our pikin be this I can't leave him here, that's how I joined them straight to Lagos, we arrived the next day morning, along the road the soldier bought nice meals for me and I was damn happy,I stopped at Alaba suru, enter danfo to boundary at ajegunle,my Dad elder sister was a petty trader then, may God bless her soul, she is late now,on reaching her shed, she cried as if I just came back from prison,I was looking tattered and wretched, her co market women have to beg her that am alive,so why bothering herself, I ate enough food at that market, she asked me to go to her house in same ajegunle area,I refused,I told her I prefer to go to my cousin place at okoko area, she gave me almost all her sales for that day bought enough food stuff and I went to my cousins place, those ones saw me,they were laughing at me,it was not funny then, just one week later,I recovered very well, stayed with them for almost a year doing menial jobs, went back to school and eventually level change. |

Truth be told this country is at war,if not careful enough its on the verge of collapse, war is profitable, often about greed, not patriotism, election is drawing close and these folks are toiling with the lives of helpless children who are seeking means to acquire quality education, its so sad. |
The harmonized terms of service of armed forces personnel stipulates that a soldier can go on voluntary discharge having attain the initial engagement of 10 years if no more interested, the reasons for leaving must be genuine either on compassionate reasons or health ground, anyone less than the year specified is regarded as a deserter or coward as the case may be and can be tracked down by the authorities concerned. |
