So that Tuesday night, I just came back home from my cucumber and ugu farm In ibeju lekki with my immediate younger brother around 8pm when the news of soldiers killing people filtered out into the Internet. It was all over whatsapp status, Instagram, Facebook, telegram DMs etc. I was alarmed at the gory pics I saw with a whole lots of videos. I slept with heavy heart. I woke up in the morning of Wednesday and still felt terrible about the incident that a whole 78 people were killed. So later in the evening, I visited a guest who came from Abuja. Then I raise the matter and he asked me a question. "Mide, this is almost 24 hours. Have you seen the names of the dead people posted? Have u seen people like reno omokri circulate videos or pics of the dead? Even nnamdi kalu with his minions all around the cyber space couldn't get a verified names, videos, pics etc to post and make Global too. So where is the prove that's 78 people are massacred? I was immediately brought out of my emotional reasoning to a logical reasoning. Immediately I created a thread on nairaland and a lot of people insulted the hell out of me. I posted on my status, friends DM and when I tried proving a point, I was blocked. I posted on twitter and got more insults. I was evicted from about 5 whatsapp groups where people respected me. So where like I know this guy he isn't like that perhaps his account was hacked. As if stands now, I have lost my friends due to this matter. I wish we can get to the root of the matter. Thank God someone like omotola also posted something similar to mine and she was bashed. And I am sure a whole lots of followers unfollowed her before she deleted the post on twitter. But I am still holding on to my stance about the matter till I am convinced beyond reasonable doubt.

I am a full blooded Yoruba man from Ekiti State. I don't harbor any hatred towards any tribe from Nigeria. We can have disagreements but it would be settled n everybody moves on. If a war should happen owing to this, it is the Yorubas that will suffer the most because these ppl and others have acclimatized to our region n can tell us our history better than some of us the indigenes. Back then in my school(secondary) they best student in Yoruba Language and history was an Ibo boy. He was celebrated on every award giving day n he continued like that n had A1 in WAEC that year while some of managed to get lower grades. The hate is uncalled for on both sides.

past 2 days. I have never seen Igbos kill Yorubas anywhere in the east. It will never be good for people trying to give this protest tribal dimension.

I am Yoruba but I clap for your submission if youths across the two sides that have been made volatile reason the way you just did then we should find a big ground where we guzzle bear, gin and all sorts together to shame the propagandists and embers fanners among us. What happen to the collective desire to press for a better life for Nigerians? I am a Yoruba but I don't care about all this gibberish ppl waste their time on. The politicians that suppose to be fighting this course are having meeting together, calling one another, strategizing on their next political moves oblivion of tribal inclinations. The violence that characterized everywhere was not solely done by indigenous ppl of those areas everything was mixed. In Edo, though you hardly know who is Yoruba n who is not as they speak Yoruba very well, in the midst of the chaos I heard somebody leading a small group shouting in Yoruba that they have gone everywhere did this done that, freed this freed that, burst this burst that. NNAMDI KANU introduced this tribal dimension to derail the whole process n pitch Yoruba n Ibo against each other so he can achieve his aim. Life goes on. We go still dey alright las las.
