OP, you are in deed funny. How would you believe that the President has a hand in the october 1 bombing? Was there any evidence brought against him in the case? |
When are those arrested boko haram members going to be tried and convicted too? |
In as much as i decry these deplorable infrastructure, i'm still of the opinion that it is the lack of maintenance culture on the part of those residing in these barracks that contribute to the damages. Many people living in governmemt quarters treat the facilities like "no-man's-property", they feel its not their house therefore, they don't make effort to maintain the facilities. Is it the government that would come and wash your toilet? (Imagine that first picture, who is the person that uses the toilet waiting for to wash the toilet for him/her? Government abi?) Is it the government that would come and cut the grasses in front of and behind your house? Is it the government that would come and trim or water the flowers in front of your house? By the time, the facilities deteroriate due to the lack of maintenence culture and "no be my papa house" attitude, someone would come out here and be crying government this - government that. |
Sixteen?!!!!!! JEEZ!. IT's such a pity. Majority of these road accidents would be prevented if only we would learn how to reduce speed, respect other road users and stop driving after taking alcohol. Now look at what the Mercedes benz driver has caused. May their souls RIP |
Chairman of the forum and Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu called on the government to quickly check the spate of violence in the country. Please while advising the government to check the spate of violence, please advise those indulging in the violence to stop doing so. Instead of planting hatred in their minds and instigating more violence through your Friday Sermons, please preach peace and tolerance. |
@OP, What proof do you have to show that those girls are Nigerians? By the way, it's the result of being over-ambititious and impatient. Girls have been indulging in prost1tution even before the days of PDP |
Na lie! Who is fooling who? Who told you they don't have 5ex in secret! They may even be indulging in le5bianism and self-service |
champagne thinz on my mind. Nice one |
Ada Nri1: What do u expect. They know that is what the EFCC officials also doWhy would officials of an agency that is supposed to fight financial criminality be offering to kill a case in exchange for money? Are they not financial criminals too? Corruption o! |
Can you imagine? Impersonation is a very serious crime which people must desist from. It serves them right |

Federal Ministry of Information, Nigeria Immigration boss, Uzoma, retired (NOT SACKED) President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the retirement of Comptroller General of Immigration (CGI), Rose Uzoma, who has also been replaced by Rilwan Bala Musa, Deputy Comptroller General of Immigration (DCGI). Musa, the next in rank to the outgoing CGI, is to serve in acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Comptroller General of Immigration. In a three-paragraph statement by Rufai Kawu Attahiru, Secretary to the Minister/Chairman of the Board of Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Services Board (CDFIPB), Abba Patrick Moro, Uzoma was on Tuesday directed to proceed on her accumulated pre-retirement leave. The statement further directed that she hands over affairs of the service on or before Wednesday (today) to the DCGI while wishing her well in future endeavours. The statement reads in part: “I am directed to convey approval of His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele, GCFR, President, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for you (Mrs. Rose Chinyere Uzoma) to proceed on your pre-retirement accumulated leaves. “I am to further convey that you are to hand over the duties and responsibilities of your office on or before Wednesday, January 16, 2013, to the most senior Deputy Comptroller General of Immigration in the person of Rilwan Bala Musa MNI, who will act as Comptroller General of Immigration pending the appointment of a substantive CG of Immigration.” Confirming the development, Moro said the directive was normal in the civil service considering that the outgoing CGI is due for retirement in three months time. The minister was fielding questions from journalists at a National Orientation Agency (NOA) event in Abuja where he dismissed insinuations that the sudden retirement of Uzoma may have something to do with recent alleged employment scam in the service. He maintained that there was nothing wrong with the process started by Uzoma. “It is not true that the outgoing CGI has issues with me or the reported employment issues in the Immigration Service, which I can tell you, were in order. “There is actually nothing wrong with the process. What has happened is a normal process in the civil service; she is due for retirement in three months time, so the leave is aimed at preparing her for life after meritorious service for the nation,” stated the minister. Meanwhile, Moro said on Tuesday that the Federal Government is to set up a committee to investigate allegations of recruitment scandal in the ministry’s agencies. But he further debunked rumour of an ongoing recruitment exercise in the various parastat als of the ministry, assuring that there was nothing of such but that the committee that will be set up will help unravel untoward actions if there were any. The minister also assured of his unflinching commitment towards ensuring that the parastatals under the ministry live up to their mandate of efficient service delivery. |
Nightshift: Since when does " had been dropped in national interest " become a normal way of attaining retirement ? Retirement is like a party with goodwill flowers from co-workers and some fine wine. It's on record that she got sacked .Oh yeah, the party would still hold. Thousands of Immigration officers whose lives she touched are already appreciating her and would continue to do so |
Just because she helped put food on the tables of thousands of unemployed and qualified graduates, that's why they masterminded her early retirement. But some abokis are out there in the federal civil service and other government agencies putting in their fellow abokis into positions, even those that cannot spell their names. Good thing is that she is even due for retirement already and as she is embarking on her pre-retirement and accumulated leave, her leave allowances, retirement benefits and other entitlements would still definitely be paid to her. She did not lose afterall. And the prayers and goodwill of the thousands of unemployed youths who she gave a reason to smile, would continually lead her on. |

One thing we have to learn is that Politics/ Democracy should not be all about winning elections, assuming power and planning for the next elections. What has Nigeria really turned into? 2015 is still far away and so much focus is being given to it. Secondly, our media outfits and journalists are not even helping matters at all. If they stop dissipating so much energy on this 2015 stuff, I guess it would be good. 2015 this, 2015 that! Oh plzzzz! |
Here in Nigeria, it's free-for-all rantings. Nigerians, what happened to our morals? We should learn how to respect our Leaders. |
This is a nice effort towards re-awakening our national consciousness. |
The Presidential Task Force on Power (PTFP) has said that President Goodluck Jonathan did not lie on the nation’s power generation figure as published by an online media which erroneously misinterpreted the President’s press briefing held last November. A statement issued by the PTFP explained that “the President made mention of the 5000MW generation profile achieved and immediately went on to clarify that owing to transmission constraints not all of this can be evacuated for now. “It is important to note that since that interview we have achieved over 6,300 MW in available generation and have hit a peak of 4517MW in evacuated power. So where is the lie?” the statement queried. The PTFP Chairman, Engr. Beks Dagogo-Jack, explained that there was “a difference between the impressive increase we have recorded in available generation which is in itself a worthy progress and the actual power we can wheel on any given day based on the transmission and gas limitations”. Dagogo-Jack, who referred to the article as “a mischievous misinterpretation of what Mr President said and meant and a disrespect to the office of the President, said the average generation profile, which signifies the power that can be generated and made available on a given day, is well over 5,000 MW while the average evacuated power profile, which is power actually evacuated to consumers on any given day, is approximately 4,400 MW. The Presidential Committee on Flood Relief and Rehabilitation has warned Nigerians to heed disaster warnings and adhere strictly to preventive measures to forestall a repeat of the disaster wrecked by flood in 2012. Deputy Governor (operation) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Dr Tunde Lemo, who led a delegation of the committee on a visit to Plateau State handed the warning yesterday while in an interactive session with newsmen. Lemo said “the purpose of the visit of the sub-committee was to present relief materials to Plateau State government for onward passage to victims of last year flood disaster in the state”. “The flood disaster of last year would have been avoided if people had taken serious warnings of the impending disaster. “There were danger signals and concerned government agencies alerted the people and as well cautioned residents on what to do and what not to do. But unfortunately the people never took the warnings seriously until the disaster caught up with them.” Continuing, Lemo explained that “This presidential committee is not only interested in donating relief materials; we are also putting up measures to prevent a repeat of such disaster and we are already discussing that with the various state governments. “Our people should learn to take disaster warnings seriously so that we will not become victims due to negligence as was the case of 2012 flood disaster. “Natural disaster is a global phenomenon, it cannot be avoided but early warning signals can help reduce the casualties if the people heed warnings, and we must take such warning serious in 2013.” He said the flood occurred as a result of the flooded Cameroon Rivers, coupled with the torrential rainfall in the country last year. He assured that the Presidency was doing its best to prevent re-occurrence. The delegation was received by the deputy governor of the state, Mr. Ignatius Longjan at Government House, Jos. Items donated by the sub-committee includes, mattresses, textile material, toiletries, beverages, food items among others. The sub-committee said it will monitor the distribution of the funds and materials to ensure that they were not diverted. Source : This Day |

It's a welcome development. Farmers need to be informed. They should know when their fertilizers and other entitlements are ready for collection, and where they are to be collected. It also becomes useful whenever their associations want to convene meetings. It's not a bad idea at all. |
BARELY 24-hours after President Goodluck Jonathan visited him at the Cedar Crest Hospital in Abuja, Kogi State Governor Idris Ichalla Wada has left the hospital, but he may not return home to his state soonest. Confirming the discharge of the governor from the hospital in a telephone chat with The Guardian Tuesday in Abuja, his media spokesman, Jacob Eddy, said his boss had been certified fit enough to leave, but added that he wanted sometime to rest fully before resuming duty in the state. Responding to the enquiry about his boss, Eddy said: “ I can confirm to you that he has left the hospital today (yesterday) but the question of returning to the state soon is not there yet because he requires sometimes to rest and fully recover. You know because he is a man of the people, if he goes back to Kogi now, people will not allow him to rest.” Wada’s aide, however, did not disclose where the governor is, saying that he required enough time to fully recuperate before resuming duty in the state. The governor was said to have refused to be taken abroad for treatment because of his confidence in Nigeria’s health sector. http://m.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1550598&l=4f41edfd91&id=259701504082765&refsrc=http%3A%2F%2Ft.co%2Fjppazmm5&_rdr |
No fewer than 101 drug companies were sanctioned by National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for various offences in Edo in 2012. NAFDAC Benin Office Unit Head, David West, who disclosed this to newsmen in Benin, said that 719 companies were inspected in the state in 2012, while the agency concluded the re-certification of the 120 water packaging establishments in Edo during the period. He said the sanctions imposed on erring companies ranged from the arrest of the offenders, seizures of products, imposition of administrative penalties, to outright closure of such establishments. One of the major sanctions, according to West, was the arrest of six persons who were marketers of unregistered Power Horse energy drinks, leading to the seizures of over 20 cartons of the drink. “We also arrested some owners of water packaging establishments, whose factories had poor manufacturing practices”, West said. Did you know? 1. 2013 will be the first year since 1987 in which all digits are different from one-another. 2. The figure 2013 is equivalent to the product of 3 prime numbers (remember prime numbers?? ). That is; 3x11x61.3. Asides 2013, 2014 also has 3 prime factors (2x19x53). Even 2015 (5x13x31). Interestingly, the next time 3 consecutive years would have prime numbers as products would be... Errr.. The year 2665. (652 years away!) 4. 2013 is composed of 4 sequential digits, although not in order. The last time it ever happened was in the year 1432! Do the math! Happy New Year! |
Congrats Afam dear. So What about Suraj/ Jarus? |
Happy new year Nairalanders. I've been damn too busy since morning. I slept, cooked, ate, saw some movies, watched TV, prayed, played music and danced real good. I just went out now to hang out with my Man and friends. |
They might have probably travelled home or abroad for Xmas. Don't be surprised to see them re-appearing around 5th-6th Jan 2013 |
THE Chief Executive Officer of the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), Capt. Mukhtar Usman, has disclosed that an accident investigation laboratory would soon be inaugurated in the country. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Usman made the announcement in Lagos while speaking with aviation correspondents at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja. He said that the laboratory built at a cost of $5.5m would be located in Abuja in line with international practices. “The bureau is very close to launching its own Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) laboratory being installed by the CAE/ FlightScape Incorporation of Canada, which will enable us to download both flight recorders promptly during investigation. Hitherto, these units were taken overseas for downloading,” he said. Usman added that when completed, the laboratory would also handle cases of air, marine, road and rail accidents. “We have highly qualified accident investigators who were trained in world class institutions to man the laboratory on inauguration,” he said. The CEO also said that the bureau has commenced training its personnel in investigating marine, road and rail-related accidents whenever they occur. “AIB’s planned collaboration with the Federal Roads Safety Commission (FRSC) in this respect is still ongoing,” he said. Usman said that the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Aviation, has so far, implemented 20 out of the bureau’s 32 recommendations. He identified some of the recommendations as the establishment of the Total Radar Coverage of Nigeria (TRACON) project and airlines installing ground-tracking devices in their offices to monitor flights. Usman recalled that no passengers could be rescued in the ADC, Bellview and Beachcraft 1900 D air crashes because there were no radar system to track them. http://m.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=482772988442281&id=259701504082765&set=a.280034372049478.85296.259701504082765&refid=13 |
