dodelight:Absolute bunkum! Whoever wrote that for Atiku did a brilliant job, actually. But your attempt to justify Reno's idiotic comment says a lot. --- Go back and read all the comments Atiku makes (about his dumped party) anytime he decamps from one party to another, same thing with FFK, same with all others. You think it's all about the party or you are pretending not to know that it's all about their personal interest and ambition? |
And when they decamp to PDP it starts working again, right? Such shallowness in reasoning for the sake of politics. And to think that these dimwits held sensitive offices in the presidency says it all. |
trillville:Well, you are largely correct. But GEJ seemed to have a humble background. His "No Shoe" story seemed to resonate with most Nigerians. PMB is also known to have a simple and frugal lifestyle, which also seems to resonate with most Nigerians. |
OlujobaSamuel:Breaking the voting pattern down to ratios is quite revealing. The SS/SE voting ratio shows that if those regions had the same registered voters like the NW/NE, the story could've been very different. --- With such distorted voting ratio, PMB must be really unpopular in the SS/SE or maybe the rigging there was nuclear. |
kollykolly:With PYO in the 2015 race, it is grossly inaccurate to think that those votes would "naturally belong" to GEJ. |
Atiku, of course. But if had a country, I would trust Buhari to be my President. |
Awoo88:Yeah, so far so good. But, then, it's a World Cup year, so you never know. |
It's reassuring to see the Judiciary upholding the law against one of their own. Yesterday, it was NJC sacking Justice Ademola and today this. Maybe, the war against corruption is actually working afterall - Slowly But Surely! |
OrestesDante:Still also trying to figure out the essence of the news. |
kingxsamz: SalamRushdie: ERockson:Insults - really?! When FFK has been throwing all manner of Insults and juvenile tantrums at the president, you lot have never berated him. I'm sure if he was the president and someone insulted him, he would send SARS to such person and you lot will be praising him for doing so. --- Bloated ego folks like FFK have inferiority complex. They think they lift themselves when they trample on others. They usually can't stand being fed what they feed others. --- We are waiting for arrogant buffoons like them in 2019. |
cooljude:Well said! The US defense budget is 20x larger than Nigeria entire budget. --- Amazes me how Africa still prides itself with the availability of natural resources, when in fact, advanced societies are driven by good leadership, innovation and technology (things we can only dream of). Even the natural resources we have, we lack the expertise to exploit them or add value (process them) to finished products. |
Mynd44:Kindly format it properly and do the needful (FP). |

Whoever is handling Atiku's image laundering on Social Media is doing a decent job. --- However, enlightened Nigerians know better not to trust what politicians say, especially when they already have antecedents for better reference. --- Atiku's supporters hope that his business background will provide a Unique Selling Proposition to market his presidential ambitions. However, they fail to realise that there is no empirical basis to justify that "A good Businessmen Will Make A Good President". The best presidents all over the world were never business people. Being successful in business requires being Profit-driven, while being a successful president requires being Welfare-driven - Two completely different skill sets. --- Atiku is Elitist and does not understand the circumstances of an ordinary citizen. All these cheap social media engagement is only because of his desperate political ambition. He's going to say anything that makes him look empathetic and humble, when in reality he's not. Have we forgotten all the things he says anytime he engages in his party prostitution? Always accusing his dumped party of so and so? Never will he be honest enough to state that his party prostitution is driven by his inordinate ambition for Nigeria's presidency |

Marvellouzkk:Absolute bunkum! You are trying to use the Holy Book to validate your prejudices. --- God should be more concerned about convincing the Israelis to accept His Son (Jesus) as their personal Lord and Saviour. Or what does it profit Israel to get Jerusalem and lose their soul? --- Why have they refused to accept Christianity and the New Testament? |
guywitzerogal:And what if he doesn't pay tithe at all, you'll stop paying yours? So, tithing is now a "subtle bribe" to God, so as to become rich? |
Impressive! |
life2017:Precisely! May God/Allah bless your soul. --- Also, wonder why foreigners come to Nigeria and start being corrupt? It's because they cross into a society where the vast majority is corrupt, so they find collaborators everywhere. |
Optional09:I completely disagree. It is the Nigerian society that is corrupt. --- Have you ever wondered why every sector of the country (whether public or private) is briddled with corruption? It's simple - "A corrupt society breeds corrupt individuals". A police officer is a product of society, same with a politician, a pastor, a judge, a lecturer, an artisan, etc. So, they are simply taking the Nigerianness in them into these jobs. --- It is always convenient to lay the blame elsewhere - so, we don't look like we are part of the problem. It's easier to say "the police is corrupt, our leaders are corrupt, the NASS is corrupt, the judiciary is corrupt, NEPA is corrupt, lecturers are corrupt, APC, PDP, Northerners, etc. As long as we are pointing fingers to others, we feel innocent. --- Truth is - You and I are the very foundation of the entire problem. We are inherently corrupt. We have even come to accept corruption as an economic necessity - no wonder we started a "Bring Back Corruption" campaign. Are we not ready to defend corruption just to spite a certain leader? - just like cutting the nose to spite the face....as if no be you go still get the wowo face last last. |
bedspread:And I ask again - what is the Biblical prophesy in question here? |
Cajal:Even the Catholic Pope has cautioned against the move by Donald Trump. But no, Trump is more concerned about displaying his hatred for Islam rather than considering the wider implications of such a move on regional and global peace. --- The UN maintains a position of a Two-State solution regarding Israel and Palestine, that's why no country has its embassy in Jerusalem. This move is only going to unite the Islamic world and we should expect more radicalism and terrorist action. |
Can anyone please tell me what the Biblical prophesy is (with quotes)? Amazes me how folks try to justify a political decision (using the Bible) simply because it validates their religious prejudices. --- To the best of my knowledge, Israelis are predominantly Jews (practising Judaism). Christians are an insignificant minority in Israel (< 3%), much less than Muslims (~37%). Israelis and Palestinians see Jesus only as economic messiah and not a spiritual messiah as most Christians do. They make a lot of money from Christian tourist and pilgrims (just like Saudi Arabia does with Muslims using Mecca). --- Bethlehem (the Biblical birth place of Jesus) is even a Palestinian city. Read about The Church of Nativity. |

tuniski:Very funny! Precisely why Nigeria is a "Fantastically Corrupt" country. They steal and dare you to your face. They do this because they know that the pillars of justice (police, judiciary, rtc) is weak and can be bought with their ill-gotten wealth. They are arrogant because they know that minions with half developed brains will come out to defend their thievery. --- The judicial system in Nigeria could not find a single reason to convict Ibori, even when presented with more than 77 reasons. Yet the same criminal was convicted in a foreign land for far lesser offences. Atiku's accomplices are facing jail terms in Germany and the US, and yet Atiku is our next best option for president. Alamesigha and Bode George were given a clean slate (presidential pardon) by our dear president as evidence of our stance on corruption. --- The likes of Ibori, Atiku, Tinubu, Akpabio, Amaechi have become our role models and our only options for leadership. Tomorrow, some demented youths will come and scream that the problem of Nigeria is leadership without talking about their roles in the emergence of such leadership (just like they are doing now with Atiku). |
BaddieKay:You should call the NCC complaint line I posted in my last comment. It's not about the #200 per se, but more about raising awareness of the subtle fraud these telecom companies (especially glo) are perpetrating. |
NCC complaint line - 622 (toll-free) --- BTW, a friend of mine recently had an experience where he tried to pay for DSTV sub using his bank app. They deducted the money, but then the subscription wasn't up. He called DSTV and they said they hadn't received any payment from his bank. They told him to get the payment reference from the bank to help them track it. --- He called his bank but they couldn't give him the transaction reference. After over 2 months of going back and forth, dude sent the bank a strongly worded email, copying the top echelon of the bank and CBN. He accused the bank of fraud and threatened to embarrass the bank and institute legal action if they don't refund his money within 48 hrs. --- In less than 2 hrs after sending the mail, he received a credit alert notifying him of a reversal of the transaction. --- Bottom line: We shouldn't always leave these matters to God or assume that we can't win. I'm not suggesting we will always win, but it's best to try! |
I had a similar experience where #200 was deducted from my account. I called their Customer Care and was told I subscribed for callertunez. Now, I've never subscribed to that nonsense, EVER! I asked if they force subscription on their customers and they claimed I must have somehow subscribed to it. They refused to confirm when and how I did the subscription. --- Now, I was so pissed, not because of the #200, but because I felt this was daylight robbery. I imagined them doing this to a lot of their subscribers and getting away with such fraud. We are talking about potentially 100s of millions here. So, what did I do - I picked my phone and called NCC help line and laid my complain to the CS lady. She asked if I was absolutely certain I did not subscribe for the said callertunez and I told her I hate callertunez and have never subscribed ever. She gave me a ticket number for reference. --- Within 24 hours, the criminals returned my #200. |
SalamRushdie:It has everything to do with Donald Trump. No country has its embassy in Jerusalem. They all have it in Tel Aviv, because everyone understands that Jerusalem is sensitive to both Israel and Palestine. --- Donald Trump is about to disrupt the region by visibly taking sides with Israel. I hope it ends well. |
NgeneUkwenu:You can take it to the bank. APC/PMB is not popular in the SE/SS. Whether it's free & fair or it's rigged, PMB will loose in those 2 regions. The defeat will, definitely, not be as bad as 2015. --- I am from the SS, so I know what I'm talking about. 80% of the states is controlled by the PDP and there is still the sentiments of GEJ. |
DLondonboiy:You are worrying about the wrong issue. PMB will win NC and SW and that will nullify PDP winning SE/SS. After that PMB will deliver crushing defeat to PDP in NW/NE. --- You should be worrying about where you will channel your hate and rage after the 2019 presidential elections. |
bonechamberlain:Pardon me sir, I'm not very vast with Nigerian politics. Kindly remind me - is it the same Bode George that is an ex-convict on corruption? |
