MadCow1:Only 20% of our electricity generation is from Hydro, while the rest is from thermal plants (fired by gas). So yes, there may be a slight drop in power once the rains stop. However, because the dams contribute only 20% of total power generation, even a 50% drop in the dam level will only result in a 10% drop in total power generation. |

If they don’t need us let them sack usI can hear management saying "if you don't need the job, you can leave". Really disheartening to be working for Africa's richest man and yet still live like a pauper. If true, i'll be somewhat disappointed with Dangote. Is he making his fortune off the sweat of poor desperate Nigerians? Sad! |
Tkester:The writer criticized both sides for their extreme and irrational support of their "political gods". Yet, in tryin to be clever by half, you come here to criticize only APC - which ends up putting you in the category of extreme bigots the writer was referring to. |
“PDP doesn’t have shame, neither does it have conscience.PDP is simply making itself look silly by daring to question the Public Asset declaration of PMB/PYO. That Party (except Yar'Adua) represents everything wrong and evil that could befall a country. PDP in 16 years spent over $20b on power, yet could not add up 2000MW to our national grid. They spent over $2b on TAM and yet all our refineries were still in comatose. Earned the highest oil revenue Nigeria has ever witnessed and yet left our economy worse. They institutionalized corruption and yet dare to question the impeccable PMB. Right now, I am personally more concerned about the new administration constituting its cabinet of ministers to begin the economic revival of our dear country. To salvage whatever is left from the ruins caused by PDP. May PDP wither and never resurrect again! May a new credible opposition party be born. |

dulux07:Ok. Who are your favorite artists? |
dulux07:Best! Wish you could share your playlist so I can download the ones I don't have. |
Mogidi:Reuters did not give an independent analysis of the economy. They only referred to views of his "critics". They also made reference to the views his "supporters". A balance reportage if you ask me. In any case, PMB is not perfect and definitely not beyond errors and criticism. Every opinion against PMB should not be considered as "Wailing". I think the man has done remarkably well in 100 days but he needs to constitute his economic team ASAP to begin to drive the fiscal policies of government. |
agabaI23:Merely throwing money at a problem doesnt solve it, especially if the objective is to embezzle such funds. Between 1999 and 2015, PDP spent more than $20b on Power and over $1b on TAM yet with little or no improvement. You can give GEJ and OBJ the credit for signing the TAM contracts and i wont disagree with you. But i'll give PMB the credit for getting the results and you are free to disagree with me. |
Former military Head of State, State Governor, Petroleum Commissioner, PTF Chairman. Yet the man lives an austere, spartan lifestyle. A rare breed indeed. |
Richie0974:The Chatham House interview where he denied the "100 days" agenda was actually before the elections and not few days ago. |
@OP, your moniker gave you away. |
fembizz:Hi Femi, been following this thread for few months now. Kindly add my number 08037008107. Tnx. |
What is important is that people are motivated and energised; they are focussed. They understand my timelines that we need to get these things to work;Same Employees, Different Leader, Different Results! Maybe 'body language' is not the right description, but there is definitely something that REAL LEADERS bring that inspires, motivates and drives. A New Order is indeed upon us. With the right leaders, just maybe the Nigerian Dream might become a Reality afterall, who knows?! You can hate the King, but don't let it affect your love for the Kingdom. Motherland shall rise again! |
smuth:With all its shortcomings, Democracy has proven to be the best system of governance for the civilized world. I understand how frustrating it is for 158 million clueless folks out of 160 million to elect a Clueless to power. I guess we'll have to always live with the decisions of the majority. Sad but true! |
I am not a fan of Akpabio. infact I detest him, but let's get the facts right. Akpabio was on his way to the airport to fly out to visit his family when the accident happened. I believe his trip 2 days after the accident is merely in line with his initial plans. He may choose to get medical attention while over there. However, I'm not sure Akpabio in 2 life times would even allow himself to get admitted into that beautiful nonsense he built and called world class hospital. |
smuth:Truth is that most Nigerians are sentimentally (and irrationally) attached to either APC/PMB or PDP/GEJ. They get excited about anything that fits into their bias and prejudices. It is not peculiar to APC supporters alone. |
Lordtrillion:“The President never said he would do any specific thing within the first 100 days. Anybody can say whatever they like, we remain focused". Those were the exact words of Lai Mohammed. The Covenant was made but it wasn't promised within 100 days. |

My opinion is that the '100 days' spin on the Covenant was made by the Tinubu propaganda machinery. If PMB had deliberately intend to mislead Nigerians, he would not have denied this in the Chatham House interview. The interview was held before the election yet he was personally willing to take the risk of not committing to any 100 day agenda. I have reread that covenant again. It is practically impossible to achieve those pledges within 100 days. The Covenant was most likely for the 4yr term. Unfortunately, our local media houses never engaged PMB one-to-one on the issue, where he probably would have cleared the air just like he did in the UK. |
Has she been discharged from the hospital? We need our 'Best Brains' back in the country to help rebuild the country. Please bring her home once she's hale n hearty - she has a lot of positive contributions to make to PMB. |
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who was alsoI guess the N5,000 CCT Program is still alive and well. Slowly, Steadily but Surely! |
Timbuktou:Fair points raised. I guess without more information, one would have to reserve further judgment. It's a family affair, so I'm backing off now. |
kestolove95:True. Except that I do not know how N70k will help a junior staff get a car. Maybe they should have called it something else, but definitely not Car Loan. |
MarvellousGod:Even as a man, I could not disagree with any of the points you raised. The man is not making it easy for the woman. With such pettiness, I fear the woman may just be 'tolerating' the marriage and not 'enjoying' it. |
Hi Femi, kindly add my number 08037008107. Tnx. |
AlPeter:I think the topic of the article is misleading. He was on his way to the airport to fly out to visit his family when the accident occurred. I guess he is strong enough now to make that trip after the initial setback. Unfortunately, you don't expect the Senators who are beneficiaries of the current system to change the laws in line with your suggestion. Akpabio is overrated. He is primitively corrupt! |
laudate:And how do you know all what you wrote there. Really impressive stuff. Are you an energy expert? Quite refreshing for once to read an intelligent and well articulated response on NL, devoid of hollow talk and abuse. |
Hi Femi, 08037008107. Tnx. |
mikolo80:Also, maybe she should have told us what the percentage of the US and UK parliament budget is to their total budget. I just checked and it's less than 0.5%. I guess we should also start comparing salaries of civil servants and minimum wage to our counterparts in the US and UK. |
