noblejazz:He'll do even more. Give you free food, free house, free wife, forgive all your sins, help you make heaven, etc. Just know that you are stuck with him for the next 4-8 years. Go get a life! |
Xano:I'm not spinning this bro (not even making excuse for GMB), just saying we should address the issues the way they are. There is no place in that article that he said his agenda was threatened. He simply highlighted Challenges, something every corporate leader (whether in private business or public service) does. You need to be objective about the challenges, so you come up with the right strategies to tackle them. |
989900:I cannot disagree with you bro, stranger things have happened. In 2011, that figure even shut up to 68million (remember subsidy shutting up above N1trillion). |
deluxecad:My regrets, if my response did not address your question. No offense. |
BrokenTV:Nigeria's daily consumption of PMS is about 35-40 million litres. At optimal performance, all our Refineries put together can only process 12million litres/day. So you see, even at optimal performance, we will still need to import about 25million of PMS litres/day. I am not a fan of subsidy, but I'm curious to see how the incoming government will approach the issue. |
GMB was addressing NASS members during their induction course, where he mentioned 8 challenges that his administration will face on assumption of office. These include Falling oil prices, Insecurity, Youth Unemployment, Power, De-industrialization, Environmental Pollution in ND, Rebuilding of ravaged NE, etc. Typically, though, the media has singled out Falling Oil Price so as to create a sensational headline. Baba is not making any excuses, he was simply being pragmatic and calling on the Legislature to join/support the Executive as developmental partners to tackle these 8 challenges. GMB simply highlighted Challenges, something every corporate leader (whether in private business or public service) does. You need to be objective about the issues, so you can come up with the right strategies to tackle them. I'm sure most of you will learn this as you become leaders. I believe GMB/APC administration (with $60 oil price) will be miles ahead of GEJ/PDP administrion (with $110 oil price). |
deluxecad:Yes. Employers will ideally register on the site and after confirmation & approval, they get to select the category of employees they want. Their selection will be based on your selected specialization and skills (remember those 5 skills you selected during stage 2?) |
One of such critics is a Development Economist; Mr. Odilim Enweagbara, who insists that the $252 million price for which NITEL and its subsidiary, MTEL was sold, was grossly below its value, considering the entity’s generous assets across the country. He told The Guardian yesterday.I guess bloggers and writers now know that any article with Buhari mentioned in the title attracts readership and comments. Where in the article was it mentioned that Buhari intends to probe the sale of NITEL to NATCOM? Has the personal opinion of Odilim Enweagbara become that of Muhammadu Buhari? Please go and get a life, and just let the General be. |
missionmex:True, but they will have limited patronage from APC controlled states (about 22 of them) |
Same number as that in the Chinese presidential fleet, yet China's economy is 20 times bigger than Nigeria. |
“There are three national networks available for national coverage in Nigeria, the NTA, AIT and Silverbirds.Who made these three National Networks? - When AIT & Silverbird are owned by ND & PDP stalwarts. You can be rest assured that Channels & TVC will replace those two. I hope Dokpesi made enough $$ during the presidential campaigns to last him the next 4-8 years, cos his station will have very little FG patronage. |
That is because there is an article by CNN saying that the over 200 rescued girls are not from Chibok. A senior army official spoke to them. https://www.nairaland.com/2283680/200-girls-rescued-army-not |
Are these the same Igbo youths who tried to conspire against GMB by not giving him even 5% votes in some states? The General (and other important stakeholders who believed him) knows exactly who to appoint what. The hypocritical opinion of you lot is not needed. |
I hope it's true. Great work by the FG & NM. Better late than never. However, If true, It will be sad to think that these efforts and results could have come a lot earlier. GEJ did not need potential or actual election defeat to wake up to his constitutional responsibilities. |
jerryboiii:You may also wish to consider the millions that went to university and are NOT successful. #JustSaying. |
spongeisback:That's a more logical conclusion, since there's only one pair of shoes and a home/away kit. |
Seun:In a country where stealing is not corruption, missing does not necessarily mean stealing. By inference then, it means missing is not corruption. |
Nigeria consumes about 38-40 million ltrs/day of PMS. At this rate, if we get our refineries working and start selling the product at N40, then we will be saving consumers well over N800billion annually. This money would then go in to stimulating the economy. My only problem, though, is that I understand all our refineries have a total installed capacity of about 12million ltrs/day. Meaning that even at optimal functionality, we will still need to import well over 25million ltrs/day. |
AIT acted too irresponsibly & partisanly during the presidential campaigns. GMB is now showing them that he also has prerogatives. I can imagine that during the life of this administration, they will have very minimal sponsored airtime from the Federal Government. I hope they collected enough $$ from the out-going administration to last them 8yrs. |
So many Transformative reports submitted to GEJ are still gathering dust: Petroleum Industry Bill, Oronsaye Report, National Conference Report, etc. This man just lacks verve. He is too docile. |
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, the President said that he is not afraid of any investigation after leaving office. It does appear you are actually afraid Boss. These last minute sackings which you are carrying out is suspect. Could it be a deliberate ploy to make sure that these folks leave the system carrying with them implicating evidence & also to make sure they are not available to testify when the probing begins? #JustThinking. |
Cuche:I hope you do not have the erroneous impression that Senators have immunity. They don't and can be probed/jailed if found wanting. |
ShowYourCertificate:What if by chance Jonathan's dollars had done wonders in the SW and he had secured enough votes there to marginally edge GMB and win the elections, would you have considered GEJ's victory a popular mandate? #JustAsking |
"...even though we have promised to draw a line, but $20 billion is too big to ignore. This is Nigerian money and it must be investigated"$20billion is equivalent to our annual budget. Whatever can be retrieved from that amount would go a long way in addressing the huge infrastructure gap in Nigeria. But most importantly Baba, people found guilty must be prosecuted. Enough of Impunity! |
How is Ethiopia able to rank 3rd with $340million annual defense budget while Nigeria comes 5th even with $2.3billion annual defence budget. In other news, US has over $450billion in their defense budget. 200 times more than our defense budget and 20 time more than our annual budget. |
“History has stated that no failure, defeat or loss is a product of a single factor. Jonathan’s loss could be blamed on a multiplicity of interwoven causes. The factors that conspired against GEJ were indeed multi-dimensional: Jonathan himself with his poor performance, Incompetence, Ineptitude & Improbity. The Obstinacy & Impudence of key members of his team including FFK, Okukpe, Fayose, Mama Piss, etc. The Sagacity of Tinubu as well as the Personality/cult following of Buhari played their own part. Or maybe Nigerians were just fade up with PDP and the status quo. We simply wanted Change! This comment about Mama Piss is particularly instructive, coming from a Bayelsa State PDP executive. |
$61bn in the early 90s? Not realistic. Even our annual budget in 2015 is less than $25bn. |
Svelteb:@Op, are you into fish? I've seen 2 articles in quick succession from you on fish. #JustAsking |
At their peak, I will go for Yaya Toure as the best all-round midfielder. I will go for Pirlo as the best creative midfielder. |
Reference:In principle, I agree with you. But in practice, this has not been the case in Nigeria of late. |
LANRYUS:You are probably speaking from a position of knowledge. I was only theorizing or conjecturing in the absence of information. However, I'm curious to know if this fact you've mentioned just became known to GEJ now. |
oloyolo:The difference between the West and Africa is that they document these advances so it could be learnt, improved, and scaled. Africans will hide the knowledge, use it to exploit, and finally die with it without proper documentation of the theories. This always causes mystery and doubt. |

. He needs to do sth about that when he assumes power.....a priceless advice.
