Ayoakinkahunsi: is like akwa ibom and rivers are strouggling for the must voilent state Those are states with the highest Federal Allocation (over N200b annually each). Election days are the most important in a typical Nigerian politician's life, as it determines their fortune in the next 4-8 years. |

PDP thugs arrived in a hilux vehicle with police personnel and started shooting sporadically This is really sad if the police actually assisted these political thugs. Carting away election materials is bad enough, killing an innocent voter just shows the depravity of these politicians. R.I.P to the dead. |

Abayhormy: Do you know the Federal Govt takes about 54% of the nation's revenue ? The states share about 46%. Lagos despite having about 20million people to cater for and all the federal infrastructures abandoned for her when the capital was moved to Abuja, it takes just 55billion anually as allocation while Akwa Ibom recieves 135billion, Rivers 99.67billion, Delta 95.77, Bayelsa 82.04, now tell me, which of these other states have achieved what Lagos has achieved under the genius of Tinubu and Fashola which has been her past/present governors?
Do you know at a point, for years, The federal government wthheld lagos state government allocations totally and Bola Tinubu and Ambode the then acountant general of lagos state had to work together to be creative and work out the genius of running lagos? Just consider the level pressure on infrastructure in lagos, consider the demand for social amenities and compare what lagos gets to these other states and the FG. Mind you, lagos does not have oil revenue, and the Nigerian ports revenue people usually refer to are going to the federal purse. Nigerian Ports Authority is a Federal Parastatal. Somany people confuse it to be a source of state revenue. As at now, FG is owing Lagos 40 billion. Great writeup. But your analysis didn't take into consideration the huge IGR (Internally Generated Revenue) of Lagos which is in excess of N300b annually. The closest is Rivers which is less than N100b, while Akwa Ibom generates less than N30b. |

jazzydee: History of buhari political ship jumping: 1).2003 and 2007 presidential candidate under the platform of ANPP. 2).2011 left ANPP and joined CPC and became presidential candidate for 2011 under the platform of CPC 3).2015 left/merged CPC to form APC and became presidential candidate for 2015 election.
There is a world of difference between forming a new party and jumping ship to join an already established party. People like Atiku might be guilty of such, but Buhari & Tinubu have been remarkably consistent in what they do. They have NEVER left their party to join an already established or successful party. That's the difference bro. |

INEC EFCC ICPC INEC chairman did his job well by the aid of the presideency even when people said mr president is tryng to scuttle the elections n induct an interim govt. the other agencies what made them not to be effective when we all knw they r independent agencies. or will mr president gives u a job n tell u what to do, isnt that interferring which constitute abuse of office in a democratic settings? The other agencies don't have the same level of Independence INEC has. For instance, they don't enjoy first line charge allocation like INEC and it's a lot easier for the President to change the head of those 2 organizations. |

I wonder if their personal vendetta against fayose is more important than the state, set of "confussionists", we still have along way to go in this country...SMH You're getting the article all wrong bro. They didn't withdraw their impeachment notice. What they are withdrawing is the initial suit regarding their suspension by the Fayose backed PDP-9. Their impeachment course would have been subjudice (since there is a pending case in court). Now that they have withdrawn the case, they can now go all guns blazing with their impeachment threat. Of course, they have been emboldened by their party taking over the centre. Fayose was enjoying the backing of the centre before now. |
